Phillips Co-Defendant in Georgia Trump Case Says He Won’t Take Plea Deal

A lesser-known co-defendant in the Fulton County, Georgia, election case that has ensnared former President Donald Trump and more than a dozen others has said that he won’t cooperate in the case. […] Rev. Stephen Cliffgard Lee, a pastor at Living Word Lutheran Church in Orland Park, was indicted in August along with 18 others, including President Trump, in Georgia. The Illinois-based pastor faces charges of racketeering, influencing a witness, and conspiracy to solicit false statements and writings. He has pleaded not guilty. “I am not going to plead out to a lie,” Mr. Lee told a crowd during a fundraising event at a local church, according to the Chicago Tribune. “I’m not going to cooperate with evil. The Supreme Court is adopting a code of ethics, it announced Monday. The nine justices unanimously signed on to a Code of Conduct that will “gather in one place the ethics rules and principles” that guide their conduct, according to a statement from the court. Democrats have for months pressured the Supreme Court to adopt a code following reports alleging ethics violations by conservative justices, proposing legislation that would require the justices to adopt a code. The court had been the subject of a campaign by left-wing activist groups, who targeted conservative justices for their relationships with wealthy individuals.

The Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System, jointly managed by the CDC and FDA, has a secret “back end” privy only to regulators, an FDA official told advocates of VAERS reform nearly a year ago, according to a British Medical Journal investigation published Friday. “Anything derived from medical records by law” cannot be included in the “front end system” accessible to the public, Narayan Nair, director of the Division of Pharmacovigilance, allegedly told advocates.

Experts are concerned that ‘hyper-realistic’ imagery could be fueling misinformation and identity theft online by creating authentic-looking profiles of people. Harris: Mistaken for a Box of Peppers? Robot Crushes Worker

A South Korean plant worker was crushed to death by an industrial robot at a vegetable packing plant. First reports indicated that the robot mistakenly identified the worker as a box. Although that might not be 100% true, it still is a frightening scenario. According to police, a man in the southern county of Goseong died after an industrial robot grabbed and pressed him into a conveyor belt, resulting in injuries to the man’s head and chest that ultimately led to his death. The worker was an employee of a company that installs robotic workers into plants. The machine was one of two pick and place robots utilized by the facility that packages vegetables such as bell peppers. These robotic machines are not uncommon in South Korea’s agricultural communities. […] South Korea has been dealing with a shrinking workforce, so robots, smart and dumb, have become commonplace. […] According to the International Federation of Robotics, South Korea is the fourth-largest robotic market in the world. It has 1,000 robots installed per 10,000 employees as of 2021, making it the country with the highest industrial robot density in the world by a large margin.

The U.S. remains committed to “ongoing negotiations” for the release of hostages believed to be held by Hamas in Gaza as officials work to find nine Americans still missing in the wake of the extremist group’s Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel, the White House’s national security adviser said on Sunday.

The former president further wants to end birthright citizenship for children born to undocumented immigrants, among other hardline policies.

Let the panic over Donald Trump’s immigration policy begin. The New York Times ran a piece the other day headlined “Sweeping Raids, Giant Camps and Mass Deportations: Inside Trump’s 2025 Immigration Plans.” The reaction has been shock and outrage. MSNBC’s Steve Benen wrote that “Trump envisions a governing model in which the government actually rounds up people and puts them in camps.” The progressive publication Mother Jones called the immigration policy “the latest detailed authoritarian blueprint to emerge from within the indicted former president’s brain trust.”

It is certainly true what Trump envisions is sweepingly ambitious to the point of impracticality. The context matters, though. Trump is formulating his plans at a time when we’re experiencing a crisis at the border and witnessing an unprecedented surge of illegal immigrants into the country because the Biden administration refuses to enforce the law. What’s the proper response here? […] The scale and urgency of Trump’s plans are appropriate to the moment. […] It is Biden who is the lawless executive defying black-and-white federal statue.

Jerusalem Post Staff: Hamas planned to push October 7 massacre to the West Bank border – report

Hamas’s original plan for October 7 went beyond just a massacre in the Gaza border area and taking hundreds of hostages, but to continue their assault up to the border with the West Bank, The Washington Post reported Sunday, citing Western and Middle Eastern security officials briefed on collected evidence.

This information was obtained from numerous maps, notes, supplies, and other written instructions found among the bodies of dead Hamas terrorists in the Gaza border area, as well as from interrogations of Hamas captives. […] The farthest the Hamas terrorists were able to infiltrate was the city of Ofakim in the Western Negev, around halfway between Gaza and the West Bank.

O’Neill: 5 US military members dead in Mediterranean Sea training ‘mishap’

Five US military service members were killed after their aircraft crashed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea during a training mission Friday evening, officials said Sunday. The vessel went down during a “routine air refueling mission,” killing everyone on board, according to US European Command.

“Search and rescue efforts began immediately, including nearby US military aircraft and ships,” officials said, adding that there were no signs of any hostile activity involved.

In three weeks, any Gmail account that hasn’t been used in over two years will be deleted, according to the Daily Mail. It was also reported that Google Drive, Docs, Calendar, Meet and Photos accounts will be deleted if they haven’t been active, along with all of the content on these accounts.

In the months leading up to their removal, accounts at risk of being deleted will be sent multiple notifications warning them about the possible outcome.
