Weerts: The Surprising True Story Of The Women Behind Mother’s Day
Any mother who has had to bury her child — one of the most devastating and enduring tragedies of motherhood — can take heart on Mother’s Day. You are not alone. The mother who was the very inspiration for the holiday, Ann Marie Reeves Jarvis, lost seven of her 11 children during the mid-1800s in rural Virginia. The dedication to honoring and supporting mothers displayed by Ann Marie Reeves Jarvis inspired her daughter Anna Jarvis, who never married or had children, to lobby for a holiday to honor “the best mother who ever lived — your mother.” After a few years of local celebrations, Mother’s Day became a national holiday on May 9, 1914, following the proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson, who declared the second Sunday of May “a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country.”

Kemberlee Kaye contributor to Legal Insurrection comments on Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) recent testimony: From the Department of I CAN’T ROLL MY EYES HARD ENOUGH comes Rep. Cori Bush, renown fringist, referring to mothers (that would be women who birth children) as “birthing people.” Birthing people. BIRTHING PEOPLE.

Gary Gindler contributor to American Thinker: Tyflocracy is a form of government in which the government is in an asymmetric war with its own people.

J. Stone contributor to American Mind: . . . women in the late 20th and early 21st centuries became authors and editors of cultural discourse, in the most powerful country in the world’s dominant civilization, to a degree that has no precedent in any large society in human history. Every major media organization in the U.S. now has female editors in its top ranks; and every major university has women in positions of authority. If there were no differences in how women and men think, we would not expect this extensive feminization of culturally influential professions to have much cultural impact. But there are such differences.

Julie Kelly contributor to American Greatness: Beleaguered Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), a martyr to the very same people who just a decade ago wanted her father charged with war crimes, now clings to political relevance based on her nonstop condemnation of the January 6 protest and her election fraud denialism. Naturally, Cheney found an appropriate outlet for her latest tantrum—the opinion pages of the Washington Post—where she attempted to lecture a Republican Party with a voter base that wants nothing to do with her.

Brent Bozell addresses the intended consequence of Facebook’s decision to uphold the Trump ban: Another win for censorship and the suppression of dissenting voices, and a loss for free speech. Facebook also gets its first opportunity to interfere with the 2024 election.

Trump: Cheney, McConnell, Pence muffed on 2020 election fraud, turned US into ‘socialist nightmare’
Former President Trump on Wednesday added to the criticism facing embattled GOP Rep. Liz Cheney but also took aim at former Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell – for what he considers them not doing more about 2020 voter fraud.

Kelly: Democrats Can’t Quash the ‘Big Lie’
The “Big Lie,” of course, isn’t that the 2020 election was stolen; the “Big Lie” is that it was fair and lawful. The Left can keep weaponizing that phrase all it wants but Republicans aren’t buying it.

Hoft: BREAKING: ‘External Devices’ With Up-to-Date Vote Totals Were Taken Offsite Nightly During the Election by Maricopa County or Dominion Employees
Per Republican Chairwoman Kelli Ward, Maricopa County Director of Election Day And Emergency Voting, Scott Jarrett, said that the orange devices in the picture above were external drives that were loaded nightly with early vote totals and taken offsite to an undisclosed location for safety by an employer or a Dominion contractor working for Maricopa County. […] Who handled these ‘external drives’, what was on them and where did they go? These questions should never even have to be asked in a well-designed and operating environment.

Hoft: EXCLUSIVE: The Entity Behind the Effort to Stop the Maricopa Audit Uncovered – The National Task Force on Election Crisis
There is something very troubling in that almost all of the nonprofit players in this Democrat efforts to stop the Maricopa County, Arizona audit have ties to an entity no one has ever heard of, the National Task Force on Election Crises. This group appears to be chaired by none other than James Baker, Former FBI General Counsel to the disgraced FBI Director James Comey.

Gindler: The Sovereign Tyflocracy
We live in an era of striking disunion in the United States of America. The bosses of the Republican Party are so separated from the rank-and-file members of the party that sometimes it seems that they came to Earth from a different planet. The bosses of the Democrat party are so separated from ordinary Americans and so close in their ideology to the Socialist International that one wonders whether the processes of socialist transformation in America are reversible. The Republican meritocracy was replaced by the plutocracy of the Democrats, but the process did not stop there. What’s happening? Several years ago, a new term was introduced in political philosophy — tyflocracy. It was introduced by . . . […] Why did the conversation lead us to Russia? Because if Russian tyflocracy is evident, then here, in America, any sane person can easily find the symptoms of the coming sovereign tyflocracy. Here in America, with rare exceptions, the process of changing political diapers in Washington has not only stalled, but practically stopped. […] When exactly did American meritocracy begin to turn into a tyflocracy?

Codevilla: Defending the Indefensible
By precluding criminal proceedings against the unnamed officer who killed Ashli Babbitt as she tried to climb through a window into the House speakers’ lobby on January 6, the U.S. government meant to shield itself from embarrassment. Instead, its indefensible manipulation of the justice system further confirms the patent dishonesty of the narrative by which it tries to frighten potential critics.

Revolver: Meet Bishop Garrison: The Pentagon’s Hatchet Man in Charge of Purging MAGA Patriots and Installing Race Theory in The Military
On February 3, 2021, in the wake of the “deadly events” of 1/6, Biden’s new Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered a 60-day stand-down and total purge of the U.S. military’s rampant, undefined “extremism” problem. Though the details of this purge were always kept vague and framed in apolitical terms, it was immediately obvious the target would be MAGA — with the buzzword “extremism” tagged onto various proxies for Trump supporters, conservatives, and opponents of globalism of all stripes. We now know the hatchet man the Pentagon has selected to carry out this MAGA purge of the American defense forces, and the entire operation is worse than you could have ever imagined. The Biden administration has just put the equivalent of Ibram X. Kendi in charge of vetting the entire U.S. military. This hatchet man’s name is Bishop Garrison, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Diversity and Inclusion:

Lifson: China is seeking an Atlantic port for major naval base
The day is coming when China’s navy, already the largest in the world by number of ships, will be patrolling the Atlantic Ocean, its missile carrying submarines able to be offshore of any power it wishes to target and its hunter killer subs free to follow any ships China might want to sink. As our scientific and technical expertise declines relative to China’s, thanks to elevating skin color and other identity politics factors over merit, and as the US Navy prioritizes diversity training over technical competence, the qualitative edge our fleet is supposed to have almpst inevitably will decline.

Nitzberg: Biden issues National Day of Prayer Proclamation that does not include the word ‘God’
The lone use of the word “Lord” appears only once at the conclusion of the declaration as it pertains to the date: The word appears within the boilerplate phrase “in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-one.” […] In contrast, former President Donald Trump mentioned God about a dozen times in his final National Prayer Day proclamation last year.

Hill: Biden: The Humanitarian Thief
Some criminals who steal other people’s money to finance their own private lifestyle, or those of the public, often move by stealth and subterfuge. They deploy moralistic language via rhetorical obfuscation. By the time they work over our moral conscience, we grant them the benefit of the doubt because we believe, in some perverse way, that the criminal had a coercive right to what he was taking away from us. Joe Biden is such thief. He has stated outright that it is time for the richest Americans to pay their fair share of taxes. He has not exactly identified by what means and by what right it is your or anyone else’s fair share of what someone else has earned. But it does not matter. Like all financial appropriators, private or public, one is expected to accept an appropriator’s assertion as the legitimate basis of a claim, or, in this case, an outright mandate. A massive scandal is brewing in the Bellingham School District in Washington, where a first grade teacher recently read a book about transgenderism to her first grade class. The uproar about the book lead parents to contact the school board — and the revelation that the school board president owns an “all ages” sex toy shop.[…] When a concerned parent emailed the teacher to ask about the book, the teacher sent back a bunch of woke nonsense about inclusion.

Morefield; Johns Hopkins Doctor Dismisses Walensky Fear-Mongering: ‘Most Of The Country Is At Herd Immunity’
Dr. Marty Makary, a surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital, disputed CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky’s contention that COVID-19 variants could set back the march to herd immunity from COVID-19 during a Thursday afternoon appearance on Fox News’ “The Story.” Walensky on Wednesday called the various COVID-19 scariants, er, variants a “wild card” that could “reverse” the progress made so far. […] The Johns Hopkins surgeon went on to debunk the desire among some health officials, sometimes referred to as “zero COVID,” that COVID-19 can be eradicated completely. Read more at Townhall.
