Burrow: The Marine Corps Inspected Every Single Barracks. It Was As Bad As They Feared

The Marine Corps’ service-wide inspection that ended March 15 found that many Marines are living in “uninhabitable” conditions, but the path to fixing a decades-old problem will not be easy, according to Marines who spoke to the Daily Caller News Foundation. To the parks? To the schools? To the crime rate? To the quality of life? […] Affordable housing in every single neighborhood. This is their stated goal: to turn bourgeois middle-class America into a dystopian leftist hellhole.

Although state laws may discourage involuntary annexation of suburbs, there are three key changes that will end the dream of a white picket fence and single family home ownership. They include:

Creating a no-growth boundary around each metropolitan area. This will force ‘large numbers of Americans to abandon their cars and their dreams of freestanding houses […]’
Forced economic integration which translates into the government trying to systematically manage where people live by income level […] ‘Regulations will force builders to include a quota of low-income housing units and the free market in housing will gradually be replaced by government-planned living patterns.’
Metropolitan regions will initiate a regime of tax sharing to reduce ‘fiscal disparities’ – shorthand for ‘suburban tax money to be transferred to cities and lower-income inner-ring suburbs.’

Coercion, not choice will mandate how this will be accomplished. Already Americans are being told that they must stop driving their gas-fueled cars. Under the guise of helping the environment, the government accrues more power for itself. Think socialism, social democracy, extreme liberalism, Marxism, communism. On Sunday, an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader threatened to target Israeli embassies in reaction to last week’s attack on the regime’s diplomatic compound in Damascus. Yahya Rahim Safavi told the state-funded ISNA news agency that “the embassies of the Zionist regime are no longer safe,” and Tehran viewed any efforts against them as a “legitimate and legal right.” The airstrike, suspected to have been carried out by Israel, eliminated seven Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers, including the organization’s Syrian chief, Gen. Mohammad Zahedi.

Hayward: HAS HAMAS (AND BIDEN) CHECKMATED ISRAEL?

Very discouraging news out of Israel today that the IDF is pulling its forces out of southern Gaza, supposedly to “rest, regroup, and re-supply” after four months of hard fighting. Let us hope this is true, but one can’t help but suspect that this move may be in response to demands from the Biden Administration that will inevitably lead to a permanent cease-fire which will amount to a Hamas victory, because Hamas will have survived a hard Israeli punch but will now have time and room to rebuild. (Axios is now reporting that Biden delivered an ultimatum to Netanyahu.) Cast your mind back a moment to our calamitous and shambolic withdrawal from Afghanistan three years ago, when, after a suicide bomber killed 11 U.S. servicemen, the U.S. retaliated with a drone strike that killed an innocent Afghan family that had no involvement with the bombing. How did the U.S. make this mistake? I don’t think the Pentagon’s after-action review of the Afghan withdrawal ever explained it, but it was obviously an intelligence failure of the first order. My first suspicion was that our intelligence apparatus was deliberately fed false information so we’d target innocent people, and throw our entire effort into further chaos.

Hagstrom: Israel withdraws all ground troops from southern Gaza, leaving just one IDF brigade in the enclave

The Israel Defense Forces announced a full withdrawal of ground forces from southern Gaza on Sunday, leaving a smaller force to maintain operations in the whole of the strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also delivered remarks at the beginning of a cabinet meeting on Sunday, reiterating that Israel would not agree to any cease-fire unless Hamas frees all remaining hostages. The bulk of the troops withdrawing in the coming days will be leaving Khan Younis, which had served as Hamas’ central bastion in the south.
