1. Ranked choice voting is a scheme to disconnect elections from issues and allow candidates with marginal support from voters to win. 2. It obscures true debates and issue-driven dialogs among candidates and eliminates genuine binary choices between two top-tier candidates. 3. It also disenfranchises voters, because ballots that do not include the two ultimate finalists are cast aside to manufacture a faux majority for the winner. […] Here is how it works. In 2008, instead of choosing to cast your ballot for John McCain, Barack Obama, Ralph Nader, Bob Barr, or Cynthia McKinney, all of whom were running for president, you would vote for all of them and rank your choice. In other words, you would list all five candidates on your ballot from one to five, with one being your first choice for president and five being your last choice. If none of the candidates were chosen as the number one pick by a majority of voters in Round One, then the presidential candidate with the lowest number of votes would be eliminated from the ballot. People who selected that candidate as their top pick—let us say it was McKinney—would automatically have their votes changed to their second choice. Then the scores would be recalculated, over and over again, until one of the candidates finally won a majority as the second, third, or even fourth choice of voters. In the end, a voter’s ballot might wind up being cast for the candidate he ranked far below his first choice—a candidate to whom he may have strong political objections and for whom he would not vote in a traditional voting system.

When public hospitals purchase medical equipment or rely on outside doctors, they typically consider the price and quality of each vendor. In Tarrant County, Texas, they consider something else, too: the race and gender of the vendor’s owners. Tarrant County’s public hospital system, JPS Health, evaluates bids for contracts on a 100-point scale that gives more weight to “diversity and inclusion” (15 points) than to the reputation of a vendor’s goods and services (10 points) when assessing providers of transcatheter heart valves—devices used to counteract cardiac failure and keep blood flowing throughout the body. It uses similar weights to select outside providers of cancer screenings. Price and quality receive 20 points each, according to a procurement request reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, while diversity receives 15, enough to make up for major deficits in other areas.

He and the other suspects are believed to have ties to the so-called Gilbert Goons – a group of mostly wealthy white kids who have been terrorizing the area for years. The charter school has been slammed for allowing Talan to play a football game after he became a suspect, even naming him ‘player of the game.’ ALA was further criticized after Talan’s former stepmom Lauri Spiker told police his dad, millionaire businessman Travis Renner, often stepped in to save his problematic sons from trouble.

Spiker told police Travis ‘once made a $10,000 to ALA and sponsored sports programs through his business, One Stop Nutrition, to prevent them expelling Talan.’

A Harvard University graduate student led a chant to “strike” Tel Aviv during a Saturday Palestinian “Land Day” protest in New York City, a video of the protest shows. Harvard’s Abdullah Akl addressed his call for violence to Hamas terrorist Abu Obaida, the spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. The Palestinian activist group Within Our Lifetime posted a video of Akl leading the chant online before deleting it. “Strike, strike, Tel Aviv. Abu Obeida, our beloved,” Akl said. He went on to lead hundreds of protesters in a chant for “intifada.”

This documentary, produced in January 2023, shows how poor Canadians are now only a phone call away from government assisted dying – which can be arranged “in as little as two weeks.” As Frawley points out, “In Canada, where MAiD (medical assistance in dying) has been legalized since 2016, something that was once a stringent law intended only for the terminally ill has been gradually expanded.” It is now a means of “euthanising the poor.” Frawley continues: “People are requesting MAiD not because they want to die but because they can no longer afford to live.”
