The ruling notches another win for Mexico in its quest to hold the American gun industry responsible for the country’s problems with cartel violence. It arrives just two months after a federal appeals court revived its $10 billion lawsuit against most of the largest US firearms manufacturers on similar grounds. The pair of successful verdicts for Mexico could inspire similar efforts from gun-control advocates looking for new ways to pierce the PLCAA’s protective shield. Mexico first filed suit against the Arizona-based Diamondback Shooting Sports Inc., SnG Tactical LLC, Loan Prairie LLC, Ammo A-Z LLC, and Sprague’s Sports Inc. in October 2022. It claimed that the five gun sellers “routinely and systematically” supply firearms to criminal organizations through “reckless and unlawful” business practices, including sales to straw purchasers who traffic firearms into Mexico. The complaint noted multiple instances of crime guns recovered by police whose origins could be traced back to the five dealers. Judge Marquez, a Barack Obama appointee, ruled that Mexico “plausibly alleged” a direct relationship between the stores’ business practices and the illegal gun trade was enough to bypass the PLCAA at this early stage in the case. She found it had identified potential state law violations, which would void protections offered by the PLCAA.

In response to the attacks, AG Garland and his allies have begun releasing information about their Trump efforts in a bid to save their jobs. While that isn’t likely to work, it does show that the “independent investigation” was a myth and that getting Trump had been the DOJ’s top job.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has called on Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to quickly push her resolution for Gallagher’s expulsion. That’s not happening. The backbone-challenged Johnson reportedly was privy to Gallagher’s plans to resign. He had nothing but praise for the establishment Gallagher, who, just days before announcing he wouldn’t seek another term, surprised his Republican colleagues by voting against the impeachment of border-busting Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

If you do, President Biden and his foreign policy team will become upset. “Our vote does not—I repeat—does not represent a shift in our policy,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters. Asked about Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s calling off a delegation to Washington in response to the abstention, Kirby said, “The prime minister’s office seems to be indicating through public statements that we somehow changed here. We haven’t.”

In mid-September, 42-year-old teacher Jessica Kramer was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old male student at the same school. And in October, a 23-year-old female teaching assistant, Diana Pirvu, was accused of having ‘inappropriate contact’ with a 13-year-old student at a nearby Buckeye middle school, Imagine Schools. Imagine Schools and the Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies are just six miles apart and about a 12 minute walk from each other.

St. Louis Park Public Schools just outside Minneapolis posted the job description for the position on the district’s job board. The job, with a salary between $134,141 and $201,212, will focus specifically on injecting “anti-racism” into the district’s culture. “[T]he Assistant Superintendent proactively supports the Superintendent to create and communicate anti-racist structures and systems, works to interrupt systems of oppression, and serves as a role model for culturally relevant pedagogy,” reads the job description.

Tatananni: Las Vegas teen thug, 16, is charged with shooting innocent dogwalker who was caught in the cross-fire of gang dispute

A Las Vegas teenager has been charged with the murder of an innocent woman who was caught in the crossfire of a gang fight while out walking her dogs. Kevin Perez-Stubbs, 16, faces counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He was arrested last May, when he was 15. Prosecutors say it is Stubbs who appears in a grainy surveillance video of the attack. The gunman is shown hanging out of a window before firing a fatal shot at Shawna McCowan, a 43-year-old who was out walking her dogs. After the attack, prosecutors say he searched for news articles about the woman’s death.

Should Israel be entitled to arm itself militarily to sustain its fight against Hamas? A new trend has emerged in recent weeks, starting with Itochu Corporation’s decision in early February 2024, to cease its collaboration with Israeli defense company Elbit Systems. Additionally, the Walloon Parliament in Belgium, on February 5, 2024, opted to suspend licenses for gunpowder exports to Israel. These decisions stem from concerns regarding the legality of Israel’s actions against Hamas, particularly in light of the International Court of Justice, in the South Africa v. Israel case. The ICJ granted provisional measures, compelling Israel to ensure it fulfills its obligations under the Genocide Convention in its war against terrorism. Following these events, the Hague Court of Appeals directed the Dutch government, on February 12, 2024, to cease the export of F-35 parts to Israel. And Nicaragua initiated new proceedings at the International Court of Justice on March 1, 2024, alleging that Germany’s assistance to Israel violated its obligations under the Genocide Convention.
