Halon: ‘Woke’ CIA recruitment video riles up social media: ‘Truly embarrassing for our entire country’
A new CIA recruitment video sparked a fierce online reaction Monday for being what critics labeled “full of woke propaganda.” The 2-minute video features a 36-year-old Latina CIA agent who described herself as “intersectional,” “cisgender,” and “millennial.” The officer tells viewers that while she used to suffer from “‘imposter syndrome,” she has embraced herself “unapologetically” because she refuses to internalize “misguided patriarchal ideas of what a woman can or should be.” Former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright took issue with the video, tweeting: . . . […] Fox News contributor Rachel Campos Duffy noted that the unnamed agent appears to list “all her identities (intersectional, cis gender, millennial woman of color with anxiety disorder) EXCEPT American. God help us,” she wrote.

Harper: House Republicans question whether White House interfered in 2020 Census data
After the U.S. Census results this week did not come out as many experts predicted, a handful of Republicans are now questioning whether foul play was involved. Several House Republicans sent a letter Friday to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo questioning the integrity of the latest federal census and asking whether the Biden Administration interfered. Ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., led the effort along with more than a dozen other Republicans. The group sent a letter asking whether the U.S. Census results released Monday were “independent from any White House interference.” “We write today with concerns . . .[…] “Due to circumstances out of our control, including COVID-19 and numerous severe weather events, we delayed our 2020 Census data collection efforts,” the bureau said. The latest population count raised eyebrows when the final totals in multiple states were far different from the estimates provided just months prior by the U.S. Census Bureau. For instance, some experts predicted that Texas would gain three seats, but it only added two. […] The Republicans allege there is a connection between which states population totals changed and those states political leanings. […] The Oversight Committee requested a wide range of documentation and communication regarding the latest data, alleging it may reveal coordination with the White House.

Turley: Learning To Love “Content Modification”: Facebook’s New Campaign Should Have Free Speech Advocates Nervous
In 1964, Stanley Kubrick released a dark comedy classic titled “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.” The title captured the absurdity of getting people to embrace the concept of weapons of mass destruction. The movie came to mind recently with the public campaign of Facebook calling for people to change her attitudes about the Internet and rethink issues like “content modification” – the new Orwellian term for censorship. The commercials show people like “Joshan” who says that he was born in 1996 and grew up with the internet.” Joshan mocks how much computers have changed and then asks why our regulations on privacy and censorship cannot evolve as much as our technology. The ads are clearly directed at younger users who may be more willing to accept censorship than their parents who hopelessly cling to old-fashioned notions of free speech. Facebook knows that it cannot exercise more control over content unless it can get people to stop worrying and love the censor. There was a time when this would have been viewed as chilling: . . .

Nobel: From Jim Crow to Joe Crow
Readers are doubtless aware that Jim Crow was a system of state-sanctioned discrimination against black people for the basic reason of their skin color. Housing was segregated as was public accommodations and education. It was almost universally the product of the Democrat Party. Northern Liberals united with Southern bigots to ensure the rule of the Democrat Party. Well, as time often seems to run backward, the Democrat Party is at it again. This time it is Joe Crow, a system of discrimination and demonization of white people, especially white men. It should now be called Joe Crow in honor of Joe Biden, the first President since perhaps fellow Democrat Woodrow Wilson to explicitly favor one race over another on the basis of skin color for the purposes of political power.

Ballasy: Biden, Dems seek to redefine ‘infrastructure’ to justify $4 trillion more in new spending
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has referred to the American Families Plan as a “personal infrastructure” proposal. “The personal infrastructure must be built in order for the physical infrastructure to involve everyone in its success,” she said on Thursday. “And that’s why, whether it’s women, minorities, people of color, veterans, rural Native American communities, as well as businesses, must be able to participate in all of that.” Others have called Biden’s proposal a “human infrastructure” plan.

We see corporations wielding government powers and complain that power is being franchised to favorites. But these are not mere favorites of the regime. This is the new regime being itself. Such things are not deviations from republican legality. They are the assertion of oligarchic reality. This is oligarchic justice, oligarchic normality. The republic was yesterday.
