The records show that at least one payment of $1,380 was sent from Hunter Biden’s Owasco PC to Joe Biden in September 17, 2018. At the time, Hunter Biden’s Owasco PC account was receiving payments from Hudson West III, a joint venture set up with executives from CEFC China Energy. The joint venture appeared to be in the process of winding down after CEFC’s founder and chairman, Ye Jianming, was detained and disappeared in China earlier in 2018, according to emails obtained from Hunter Biden’s laptop. This new revelation fits a pattern that has emerged in the House investigation into the President and his family’s business dealings. That pattern suggests that Joe and Hunter Biden’s finances were intertwined, while Hunter Biden was raking in millions from his foreign business deals.

There are many things to criticize about Henry Kissinger’s career. Leftists point to the bombing of Cambodia during the Vietnam War, American complicity in the coup in Chile that brought down the Communist regime of Salvador Allende, and his interference in Iranian politics.

Conservatives, on the other hand, underscore his betrayal of the South Vietnamese and the abandonment of democratic Taiwan. They add that calling Kissinger a scholar statesman, as some do, makes no sense given his decades-long service to Communist China as a paid lobbyist/apologist for the regime.

But I would lay an additional charge against the one-time American diplomat. It was Henry Kissinger, as President Nixon’s national security advisor, who oversaw the production of an infamous memo that turned population control into a weapon in the Cold War. Even today, his argument that America’s national security depends upon waging war on people continues to be used to justify the promotion of abortion, sterilization, and contraception around the world. National Security Study Memorandum 200 (NSSM 200), as the memo was called, was more commonly known as “The Kissinger Report” after its author. The 250-page report, a joint effort of the NSA, CIA, Department of State, and Pentagon was kept secret – for good reason – until it was finally declassified in 1989. Believing that people mean power, and worried about the demographic decline of the West, these practitioners of realpolitik unapologetically sought to engineer a fertility decline among more prolific peoples. And they were fully prepared to deceive and strong-arm other countries into doing so.

Jailed journalist Owen Shroyer is set to be released from prison on December 8. He was sentenced to serve 60 days for charges stemming from his presence and remarks outside the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. He reported to prison on October 24. He has spent the majority of his time in solitary confinement. With Shroyer’s release set for December 8, he will have been in prison for 45 days. Over 30 of those days were spent in solitary confinement.

The Air Force improperly released service records of a GOP Ohio congressional candidate during his 2022 race, which was then used against his campaign, which he believes led to his election loss. The service records of at least a dozen service members were improperly released to a research firm from October 2021 to December 2022, and were used in some instances against GOP congressional candidates. […] The AP reported that Majewski “ran a Facebook ad promoting himself as ‘combat veteran,’” and claimed it was “misleading” because the term doesn’t mean that he had engaged in combat. Majewski told Just the News that “being a combat veteran doesn’t mean I saw combat.” He said his campaign explained to the AP when they requested comment from him for the story that he actively served in a combat zone and received imminent danger pay, which qualifies him as a combat veteran, according to VA IB10-438. The AP also mentioned that Majewski didn’t receive a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, which was issued to service members who deployed abroad on or after 9/11 in the War on Terror. However, this past September, the Air Force corrected Majewski’s service record to include the medal.“ Had this story not come out, it’s likely I’d have won by a point,” Majewski said of the impact the AP articles had on his 2022 race.

The Motion Order reads: “granting motion for release pending appeal, at docket entry 16 Mackey’s surrender date is stated. The District Court is ordered to determine the appropriate terms of release, without prejudice to the government’s making a future request for detention, on behalf of Appellant Douglass Mackey, It is further ordered that this appeal is expedited. Mackey’s initial brief will be due on or before January 5, 2024. The government’s response will be due on or before February 5, 2024. Mackey’s reply brief will be due on or before February 20, 2024. The Clerk is directed to calendar this appeal as soon as practicable after February 20, 2024.” […] This ruling is huge because it means that the appeals court decided that my appeal presents ‘substantial’ and ‘debatable’ issues of law that, if resolved in my favor, will result in my conviction being vacated. Lost confidence. Well shame. I stepped back into Manhattan and Brooklyn last week, down to the city from my life in the deep upstate woods. I was revisiting the world of privilege that had ousted me in 2021, and that had been so confident and even smug right up until and into the “pandemic.”

Brian and I attended an evening gathering of New York City thought leaders, and old-school society leaders. It was in a private home, and convened by the same glamorous group that had dis-invited me from its “list”, due to my naughty vaccine status, in 2021. I felt that it was important to show up now, and see what had happened to this world in the meantime.

The Ireland of today is very different to the Ireland of yesteryears. Irish eyes are not smiling, and for good reason. Today, my homeland is a horrific place to live: riots on the streets, vehicles ablaze, innocent children being stabbed, and women being raped and murdered. Crime statistics released earlier this year by the Garda Síochána, Ireland’s national police force, paint a rather troubling picture. Since 2019, serious criminal offenses, including murder, rape, and sexual assaults, have skyrocketed. As the statistics show, in the space of four years, reports of rape have increased by 13 percent. Moreover, over the past 12 years, the number of sex crimes have increased by a whopping 75 percent. Last year, 44 cases of murder or manslaughter were recorded. In 2021, 25 cases were recorded. That’s a significant jump. What’s going on?

Dear Readers: I am sorry for sprinkling humor and sarcasm throughout my Substack posts. My apologies! Had I known that Australian social scientists Jordan McSwiney and Kurt Sengul found the use of humor and ridicule to be an insidious attack on our democracy, I would certainly avoid even a trace of sarcasm or humor in my articles! Abstract This paper critically examines the use of online humor and ridicule to promote and normalize far-right exclusionary discourses. Through a critical qualitative study of the Please Explain miniseries, a series of thirty-four short web cartoons produced by Australian far-right populist party, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, we explore the strategic use of humor in the communicative arsenal of the contemporary far-right. Drawing on critical discourse analysis and thematic analysis, we examine how humor is used to soften articulations of exclusionary and supremacist ideas, including racism, misogyny, and queerphobia. Our findings suggest that the frivolity and irony of the online animated genre works to stretch the boundaries of the sayable, potentially making the content more palatable to non-far-right audiences. We argue that the strategic use of exclusionary humor forms part of a wider project of far-right discursive mainstreaming that simultaneously (re)legitimizes everyday expressions of exclusion.
