In September 2022, former Prince William County general registrar Michele White was indicted by a grand jury on two felony counts alleging corrupt conduct as an election official and making a false statement, and one misdemeanor indictment of willful neglect of duty by an election officer. White’s jury trial is set to begin on Jan. 16, 2024, and go until Jan. 26. White had abruptly resigned in 2021 without explanation. This week, Just the News obtained documents from the Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office through a court records request regarding the three charges against White, which provided some additional information. Despite the Chinese warship being warned about the divers, the Chinese vessel continued to aim its sonar pulses at the divers, an action labeled as “unsafe and unprofessional” by Australian officials.

Ultimately,” contends Sen. Chris Murphy, the next Israeli government “is going to have to put us back on a path to have a Palestinian state. That’s not easy, but it is the only way forward for Israel, is the only way forward for long-term peace.” Well, it’s not the only way forward, right? Israel could clamp down on Palestinian autonomy until the violence against innocent Jewish civilians stops, and residents start living peacefully with their neighbors and begin accepting history’s outcomes. That’s another option.While the situation today is appalling, creating a three-front Iran-backed terror state on the borders of a nation the size of New Jersey would make things significantly worse. No sane citizenry would sign off on such a suicidal policy. No genuine ally would pressure a friend to do it. Mens: Iran’s Implausible Deniability

The terror state and its various proxy militias—including Hamas—are obviously acting in concert. Why won’t the U.S. admit it? The Biden administration came into office with the pledge to take the U.S. off a “war footing” with Iran, which the incoming team said had characterized the term of its predecessor. “De-escalation,” as the administration called it, is the way we would achieve peace in the region. Tehran would not be held to account for its malign activities, whether they were conducted directly or through its extensive regional network of proxies. If anything, the Biden team telegraphed, Iran would be rewarded. As recently as September, the administration was congratulating itself on its approach: “the Middle East region is quieter today than it has been in two decades,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan famously declared. The slaughter of at least 1,200 Israelis, and more than 30 Americans, at the hands of Iranian proxies has not made a dent in the administration’s worldview. On the contrary, the White House’s overriding concern over the last month has been to artificially distance Iran from the Oct. 7 massacre and the subsequent attacks on U.S. bases and personnel in the region. The separation is absurd on its face. This year alone, before and after Oct. 7, there have been dozens of meetings, in Lebanon and Iran, between Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), and the Iranian command.

Now, after a profligate 2021 and 2022, the books have closed on 2023. (Deficits are measured in fiscal years, which end on September 30.) The newly completed fiscal year (FY) ranks as the sixth-highest inflation-adjusted deficit on record, more than doubling the tally from 1945—the highest deficit during World War II. In 2023, for every $10 that came in, nearly $14 went out. FY 2023 would rank even worse, if not for the Supreme Court’s striking down, as a violation of federal law, President Biden’s decree that roughly $400 billion in student loans would be forgiven—or, rather, would have their obligations shifted to taxpayers. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says that without that judicial decision, the 2023 deficit would be several hundred billion dollars higher, which would vault it to third on the list of highest real (inflation-adjusted) deficits. Even if one assumes that deficits should rise as the population rises, recent deficits are a thing to behold. In real per-capita dollars (adjusting for both inflation and population growth), the nation’s three highest deficits have been 2020, 2021, and 2009. The 2023 deficit ranks eighth on that list; it would be fourth without the Court’s decision. In addition to the 2023 deficit, Biden has presided over the seventh-worst inflation-adjusted deficit on record (2022). And he also bumped up the deficit in 2021—a year that would normally count toward Trump’s tally—by 13 figures (before adjusting for inflation), as he spearheaded and signed into law additional Covid-19 “stimulus” spending, $1.12 trillion of which, according to the CBO, was spent in that year. (Without adjusting for inflation, the past four deficits have all landed in the top five spots in the record books, ranging from $3.13 trillion in 2020 to $1.38 trillion in 2022, with 2023 coming in third place, at $1.70 trillion.)

The previous year, quoting the Muslim call to prayer – including the Islamic profession of faith – Obama had called it “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” So Obama’s enthusiasm for such otherwise inexplicable initiatives as the Iran deal made sense. Ditto his palpable hostility toward Israel. One of the Obama administration’s top foreign-policy figures was Antony Blinken, who during Obama’s first term served as Biden’s national security advisor and, during Obama’s second term, was deputy national security advisor and then deputy secretary of state. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona hosted a meeting this month with an anti-Israel activist who has praised Hamas and Hezbollah and called for violence against Israel. Cardona on Nov. 15 met with 13 activists—including Palestine Legal advocacy manager Lina Assi—to address the “extremely disturbing pattern of hate and threats of violence in schools and college campuses” following Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Assi has called Iran and its terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, “crucial and important” in “resisting imperialism” in the Middle East. As a student activist, she led a crowd in a chant of “Viva, viva Intifada,” a call for violent uprising against the Jewish state. Assi’s organization represents Students for Justice in Palestine, an anti-Israel student group that projected the pro-Hamas statement “Glory to our martyrs” on buildings at George Washington University. Palestine Legal is representing the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at the University of Florida, which was kicked off campus for expressing solidarity with Hamas in its “Day of Resistance Toolkit.”

On Sunday, James O’Keefe revealed his boarding pass for a domestic flight was given an “SSSS” designation for “Secondary Security Screening Selection.” “Trying to understand the ‘SSSS’ designations on my domestic boarding passes. The time has come to discuss the Biden administration’s relationship with Israel. With each passing day, two things become obvious. And second, if Israel follows the Biden administration’s directives, it will lose the war. Israel’s dependence on the United States was stated bluntly by retired IDF Maj. General Yitzhak Brick in an interview earlier this week. “All of our missiles, the ammunition, the precision-guided bombs, all the airplanes and bombs, it’s all from the U.S. The minute they turn off the tap, you can’t keep fighting. You have no capability. … Everyone understands that we can’t fight this war without the United States. Period.” Brick went on to explain that President Joe Biden’s demand that Israel permit “humanitarian aid” to enter Gaza means that he is demanding that Israel keep Hamas fully supplied with food, water and fuel. Wong: U.S. Navy Rescues Israeli-Owned Ship from Armed Attackers in Gulf of Aden

A United States Navy destroyer, along with ships from allied nations, rescued an Israeli-owned ship from armed attackers on a small boat Sunday, according to U.S. Central Command (Centcom). According to Centcom, the commercial vessel M/V Central Park issued a distress call that they were under attack by an unknown entity. The USS Mason and ships from a U.S.-led counter-piracy task force arrived and demanded the five armed attackers release the vessel. The attackers debarked and attempted to flee in their small boat, but the Mason pursued the attackers until their surrender. Centcom also said on Monday, as the Mason was concluding its response to the distress call from M/V Central Park, that two ballistic missiles were fired from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen “toward the general location of the Mason and the M/V Central Park,” landing approximately 10 nautical miles from the ships. There was no damage or reported injuries.

There are recent headlines and talk about Israel relaxing gun control laws and arming citizens since the Hamas terrorist attacks October 7th. But these narratives can be deceiving. One Israeli tactical expert, Yonatan Stern, has exposed some concerning actions on behalf of the Israeli government that tell a different story. Is Israel Truly Willing to Give Citizens the Right to Self-Defense? According to Stern, “almost nobody is allowed to own guns at all” in Israel. But most citizens enter the Israeli military at 18, and they are issued a rifle. Americans who enter the military are also issued rifles, but the difference is that American soldiers aren’t permitted to keep their rifles in their possession off base. “But in Israel it doesn’t work like that, in Israel, the soldiers usually leave their bases carrying their rifles with them,” says Stern. Upon discharge from the IDF, however, the rifle is taken from the Israeli soldier. And from the sounds of it, that soldier may never be able to even get a handgun, never mind a rifle, again. […] Politically Motivated Disarmament in Israel Endangers Citizens There also appears to be politically motivated disarmament going on in Israel since the Hamas attacks. Stern mentions the story of Amishov Melet, a security coordinator in Geulat Zion, a small community on the West Bank. Melet was issued an M16 rifle by the IDF to protect the settlement. Israel’s Shin Bet, which the Israeli equivalent of the United States’ FBI, had been monitoring Melet’s political activity and communications. “They didn’t like this guy because of his political views, he’s a right winger who’s outspoken, he’s conservative, he’s been critical of the government, and they decided he is not someone that they believe should have the right to defend himself or his community,” says Stern. “So they ordered the IDF to confiscate his rifle, his M16. That left his entire community exposed and vulnerable.” After Stern drew attention to this story, other Israelis . . .

The summer of 2020 resembled a political revolution. Militants associated with Black Lives Matter and Antifa led the most destructive riots in American history. Radicals burned down city blocks, perpetrated acts of violence, and briefly established an “autonomous zone” in Seattle characterized by a police-free political order and a homicide rate 50 times higher than that of Chicago. For those who monitor left-wing radical movements, this shouldn’t have been a complete surprise. Federal law enforcement had long acknowledged the threat of left-wing, anarchist, and racialist violence. In 2016, the FBI published a report raising the alarm about the threat of anarchist groups that deployed arson and violence for political ends. The following year, it published an intelligence assessment warning about the rise of “black identity extremism,” which was linked to ambushes and violent attacks against police officers. In the wake of the George Floyd protests, however, FBI director Christopher Wray changed his tune. In testimony to Congress, Wray distanced himself from the report on black-identity extremism and repeated the canard that Antifa was “not a group” but “an ideology,” an evasion that invites the obvious rejoinder: ideas don’t torch buildings—people do. Activists exerted tremendous social and political pressure on mainstream institutions to fall in line with BLM.

They are totally out.”

Elordi: More Than 2,500 NYPD Cops Have Quit This Year

A total of 2,516 NYPD officers have left so far this year, the fourth highest in the past 10 years, according to NYPD pension data obtained by the New York Post. The number also 43% higher than the 1,750 cops who left the force in 2018. More cops are quitting before they get their pensions, too. Back in 2020, about 509 officers quit before the 20 years on the force they need to get their full pension. This year, 1,040 officers below the 20-year mark have quit already, a 104% increase, and the year is not even over. […] Mayor Eric Adams announced the budget cuts earlier this month. The NYPD will be slashed to just 29,000 cops by September, 2025, the lowest level in over two decades. The next five Police Academy classes have also been canceled as part of the cuts. Also this year, the NYPD lowered its fitness standards to bring more women onto the force, a decision the mayor reportedly had to approve. Last month, however, Adams admitted that the city needs more cops.

His visit comes after the White House criticized him earlier this month for engaging on X, formerly Twitter, with a post they deemed antisemitic. Orthodox Jewish commentator Ben Shapiro defended Musk’s comments. Last week, Musk sued the watchdog Media Matters for saying that X ads appeared next to antisemitic content. While in Israel, Musk watched a short film of the massacre, which included footage from Hamas terrorists perpetrating the acts. “It’s one thing, obviously, if civilians die accidentally, but it’s another thing to revel in the joy of killing civilians,” Musk said during a livestreamed conversation with Netanyahu on X. “That’s evil.”

The Aliquippa Municipal Water Authority in Pennsylvania was hacked by a cyber group backed by the Islamic Republic of Iran over the weekend. Speaking to local CBS News KDKA-TV, Matthew Mottes, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Municipal Water Authority, revealed that the hacking group known as Cyber Av3ngers successfully took control of the station setting off alarms. The station is in Aliquippa and manages pressure for Raccoon and Potter Townships. Mottes told KDKA-TV that there is no identified risk to the water supply. […] CyberAv3ngers has claimed responsibility for a series of global cyber assaults, including against Israel. On their X page, the group revealed several photographs of the cyber-attack against the water treatment stations in Netanya, Israel, following the Oct. 7 massacre and Israel’s invasion of the Gaza Strip.

The symptoms are similar to kennel cough, an upper respiratory infection, but can last much longer and, in some cases, prove fatal, according to veterinarians. The infected dogs develop a cough, fever, lethargy and intermittent loss of appetite. While infected, some dogs will develop pneumonia. Veterinarians have reported seeing blue and purple gums in those cases. […] Now, researchers at the University of New Hampshire have revealed that they have identified the bacteria causing this canine disease. Dr David Needle, a veterinary pathologist who led the research, said it was a ‘funky’ organism — that is as yet unnamed — and had not been observed before. His team found the bug by performing forensic tests on 70 dogs who’d developed the tell-tale symptoms over the last two years.

But, at the time I penned the essay, I had no idea that in New York City, an ordinance of this very nature was already on the books, and now it’s gone into effect. Utter: Bethlehem cancels Christmas

Bethlehem, the town where Jesus was born more than 2,000 years ago, recently announced it is “canceling” Christmas this year……in honor of Palestinians who have died in Hamas’ brutal war with Israel. Bethlehem normally generates a majority of its revenue from tourism, especially around Christmas, when Christians flock to the Church of the Nativity, thought to be on or near the site where Jesus was born in a manger. But city officials said that virtually all decorations, including a tree, lights, and a nativity scene would be dismantled prior to December 25 in honor of Palestinian “martyrs.” It will likely penalize many Christians there.

Levitt: The Hamas-Iran Relationship

In the weeks since the Hamas massacre on October 7, pundits have debated whether or not Iran helped Hamas develop the plan for the terrorist assault and if Iran had foreknowledge of the attack. Citing a Hamas source, the Wall Street Journal reported that Iran helped plot the attack and that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp gave it the go-ahead at a meeting in Beirut. Another Journal report claims that in the weeks leading up to the assault, hundreds of Hamas and other Islamist militants received specialized training in Iran. Iran, for its part, denied playing any role in the attack, and US intelligence suggests that Hamas attack surprised Iran, undermining the theory it played a direct role planning or training operatives for the plot. As early as August, Hamas deputy leader Salah Al-Arouri publicly acknowledged, “We are preparing for an all-out war, and we are discussing the prospects of this war with all relevant parties.” Such discussions surely included the IRGC and Hizbullah, with whom Hamas leaders met regularly in a “joint war room” in Beirut. Ultimately, the details of Iran’s role in the plot itself will emerge. But this much is already clear: Iran has funded, armed, trained, and provided intelligence to Hamas for decades. Though Hamas has multiple income streams, funding from Iran has been especially important for the group’s military and terrorist structures. As US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan concluded when asked about Iran’s role in the Hamas attack, “We have said since the beginning: Iran is complicit in this attack in a broad sense because they provided the lion’s share of the funding for the military arm of Hamas.”

Murdoch: Prosecutors in Freedom Convoy leaders’ case abruptly stop calling witnesses

The trial of Freedom Convoy leaders Tamara Lich and Chris Barber is on pause until next week after the Crown abruptly decided to end its case, telling the court it will not call forth any new witnesses. The trial has been ongoing for nearly three months, having started on September 5, 2023. Despite seeing a few breaks here and there, including being off most of November, the Crown prosecution had been taking its time calling forth its witnesses. That changed this Monday, which was sitting day 27 of the trial. On this day, the Crown decided to abruptly finish its case against Lich and Barber, who appeared in court via teleconference, with their defense arguing that the protest organizers’ actions were within the law, and they should not be considered co-conspirators as the Crown claims. The Crown has been trying to prove that Lich and Barber had somehow influenced the protesters’ actions through their words as part of a co-conspiracy.

Demonstrators at BLM events have been known to: smear white police as trigger-happy bigots who are intent upon killing innocent, unarmed black males; taunt, and direct obscenities at, uniformed police officers who are on duty; throw rocks at police and threaten to kill them; and celebrate in the streets when a police officer is killed. Some examples of BLM’s racist and incendiary rhetoric: […] BLM was established as an online platform in 2013 by three black Marxist women in their early thirties: Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi. Cullors in particular has been candid about BLM’s Marxist objectives. In 2015 she stated on video: “We actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia [Garza] in particular, we’re trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super versed on ideological theories.” In the same video, Cullors revealed that for more than a decade she had been the protégé of mentor Eric Mann, a former domestic terrorist who in the 1960s and ’70s was a member of the Students for a Democratic Society and the Weather Underground, whose shared objective was to launch a race war against the “white” United States on behalf of the nonwhite Third World. Mann trained Cullors in Marxist-Leninist ideology and the tactics of political organizing.

HAMAS (an acronym for Harakat al-Muqawamat al-Islamiyya, which is Arabic for “Islamic Resistance Movement”) is an Islamic fundamentalist group founded on December 14, 1987. As a single Arabic word rather than an acronym, “Hamas” means “zeal.” The organization’s founders were seven leading members of the Muslim Brotherhood: Ahmed Yassin, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, Ibrahim al-Yazuri, Sheikh Salih Shihada, ‘Isa al-Našhar, Muhammad Shama’a, and ‘Abd al-Fattah Dukhan. Hamas, in a sense, grew out of a 1985-86 Brotherhood movement — in which Ahmed Yassin was involved — that resolved to pursue its goal of degrading and ultimately destroying Israel by means of civil disturbance. The movement went by various names such as The Armed Struggle Movement, The Steadfast on the Land of al-Isra’, and The Islamic Resistance Movement. Ultimately, Yassin blended a group he had founded in 1973 — the Islamic Organization — into this Brotherhood movement, and settled on the name Hamas. The organization gained great popular support Gaza due to commitment to “raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.” Describing itself as […] The Hamas Charter, written in 1987, puts forth “The Slogan of the Hamas,” which closely resembles the Muslim Brotherhood’s credo and reads as follows: “Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path, and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.” In addition, the Hamas Charter: says that jihad, or holy war, “becomes an individual duty binding on every Muslim man and woman” explicitly abjures . . .
