House Speaker Mike Johnson said Friday that he plans to release 44,000 hours of Jan. 6 footage to the general public. The first batch containing about 90 hours of footage was released that day, and the remaining 44,000 hours are expected to be released over the next several months. The “ask not what your country can do for you” ethos of yesterday has transformed into the “give us more free stuff and we’ll take some reparations on the side” grievance ethos of today. America’s political leadership, voted in by an electorate addicted to handouts, will take the approach of Belshazzar, the Babylonian king who was partying even as the armies of doom were at the gates. What’s the tipping point? Few of our leaders seem to care. I suppose that when collapse comes, we can at least take great comfort in the fact that we paid for the retirements of the charmingly corrupt Ukrainian cocktail class. 2. . . .

Florida college students who “promote” Hamas and other designated terrorist organizations could have their scholarships, grants and other benefits yanked from them under a new bill proposed Wednesday by Republican lawmakers. The idea is the latest attempt by Florida policymakers to punish college students who are expressing support for Palestinians as the Israel-Hamas war rages on with tensions enflamed on campuses across the country. Already, Florida has attempted to disband Students for Justice in Palestine groups at two state universities while Gov. Ron DeSantis on the GOP presidential campaign trail pledges to cancel student visas for anyone sharing “common cause with Hamas.”

BREAKING: Stacey Abrams’ Brother-In-Law Arrested For Human Trafficking

Jimmie Gardner, the brother-in-law of prominent Democratic figure and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, has been arrested on serious charges of human trafficking and attacking a teenager. Gardner, who has a controversial past including a previous conviction for sexual assault that was later overturned, was apprehended by Tampa authorities according to WFLA 8. He is accused of engaging in illicit activities with a 16-year-old girl.

Scott: Mysterious Fatal Respiratory Illness Sickens Dogs Across The US, Vets Are Puzzled

Dr. Lindsey Ganzer the owner of North Springs Veterinary Referral Center in Colorado has reported at her animal hospital alone she has seen 30 cases of the mysterious illness. Ganzer sampled the unknown respiratory illness but it tested negative for any known viruses and bacteria. According to the Oregon Department of Agriculture the symptoms of the new illness are “Coughing, sneezing, discharge from the eyes or nose, trouble breathing and fatigue.” [….] Vets have reported the illness does not respond to traditional antibiotics which has resulted in dozens of dogs dying from the unknown respiratory illness. […] Officials said that dogs are most likely to contract the illness by coming into contact with other dogs, with places such as dog parks, kennels and groomers posing a larger risk.
