In an interview with The Verge Editor-in-Chief Nilay Patel, former President Barack Obama once again claimed that he is virtually a “First Amendment absolutist” despite supporting censorship for years, including United Nations efforts to criminalize criticism of religion on a global scale. There are aspects of the Obama terms that I have praised, but his record on free speech is not one of them. Obama declared in the interview that “I’m close to a First Amendment absolutist in the sense that I generally don’t believe that even offensive speech, mean speech, etcetera, it should be certainly not regulated by the government.”

That is virtually identical to prior statements that “I’m pretty close to a First Amendment absolutist” as he was arguing for social media censorship. Notably, Obama avoids calling himself a “near free speech absolutist.” The distinction is key for Obama and others in supporting massive censorship while virtue signaling that they are tolerant of opposing views.

They said the cartoon ignored the death of thousands and the suffering of millions of Palestinians as a result of the Israeli military response. […] This cartoon was designed with specificity. Its focus is on a specific individual and the statements he made on behalf of a specific organization he represents—their claims of victimhood, and the plight of innocent Palestinians used as pawns in their political and military strategy. That person is Ghazi Hamad. The caricature of the central figure looks like Ghazi Hamad. The organization is Hamas. The main figure in the cartoon is labeled Hamas. Hamad’s words and the innocents bound to him as human shields and their forced martyrdom reflect the official position of Hamas. Hamas is a terrorist organization. . .

Gaza civilians are victims. Hamas is not. It’s ironic that those who criticize the cartoon for overgeneralizing and stereotyping cannot seem to distinguish between a known terrorist group and Palestinians. And it’s a tragedy that their only way of coping with the truth depicted in my cartoon is to erase it from view. The nature of our problem. Former FBI Director James Comey openly admitted to Congress on March 20, 2017, how the FBI, FBI Counterintelligence Division, Main Justice & DOJ-National Security Division, together with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the CIA, had been conducting independent investigations of Donald Trump for approximately a year without informing Congress [Gang of Eight]. When asked why, Comey winced, then justified the lack of informing Go8 oversight by saying, “um, because of the sensitivity of the matter?” Stupidly, Congress never pressed James Comey on that issue. The arrogance of Comey was astounding, and the acceptance by Congress was infuriating. However, that specific example highlighted just how politically corrupt the system had become. In essence, Team Obama usurped the entire design of congressional oversight…. and Congress just brushed it off.

This event, and everything in the background as outlined within the James Comey admission, factually happened. It is on the record, admitted and nothing about the reality of what took place is subject to conjecture or refute. Yet somehow, we, specifically our Congress, just moved on as if what FBI Director James Comey outlined and admitted wasn’t a total usurpation of the U.S. Constitution and a collapse in the structure of our coequal branches of government. On Wednesday, Higgins asked Wray about unmarked “ghost busses” allegedly at the Capitol on J6 that were being used to transport agents. However, Democrat Glenn Ivey (D-MD) interrupted, demanding Wray’s microphone to be cut off so that Wray did not have to answer the question. “This has run over the time,” Ivey claimed. Higgins wrapped up his questioning with a final warning to the FBI director: “Your day is coming, Mr. Wray.” […] Higgins cited a former FBI assistant director, Steven D’Antuono, who recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee that FBI informants attended the “Stop the Steal” rally on J6 as lawmakers met to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election.

[…] On Wednesday, Martin said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show that after reviewing the footage “we figured out that four guys set up the gallows at 6:30 in the morning on January 6, it was a very serious production, they moved it out of a truck, they moved it across on wheels, they came back and forth.” “And more importantly than anything, as some of the images you have up show, they went to get coffee at about seven in the morning, they went to coffee at the only coffee shop open at that time, which happens to be well, it’s right next to Georgetown Law School. That flight emitted more than 130,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis—a carbon footprint that the average American would need more than four years to produce. In the buildup to his meeting with Xi, Biden stressed the need to “change” America’s relationship with China “for the better,” and his administration on Tuesday released a joint statement in which the United States and China “reaffirm[ed] their commitment to work jointly and together … to address the climate crisis.” But Xi has long pledged to lower his nation’s emissions, only to do the opposite.

It didn’t make a ton of news in the United States media, but a new study published by the International Energy Agency in mid-October emphasizes the enormous potential roadblock to a successful energy transition posed by a projected need to refurbish and double capacity on global electricity grids.

The study, titled, “Electricity Grids and Secure Energy Transitions,” advises governments that investments in expanding and refurbishing power grids must “nearly double by 2030 to over USD 600 billion per year after over a decade of stagnation at the global level, with emphasis on digitalizing and modernizing distribution grids.” That level of new investment in just this single piece of the overarching plans for a complete re-tooling of the global energy system is not currently a part of existing policies around the world. Given that most developed countries are already saddled with overwhelming public debt and the lack of means in developing countries, the prospect for a doubling of current grid investments seems dubious at best.

Some social psychologists believe that humans are biologically wired to seek “fair” relationships with others. Some theologians believe that the soul’s capacity for distinguishing right from wrong leads a moral person toward the same result. Whether genetically or spiritually inclined to prefer fair outcomes, we humans are not comfortable around those who cheat and prosper from duplicity. Cheating is ugly and therefore despised. Systemic cheating, however, now dominates Western life. Elevating “diversity for diversity’s sake” over all other metrics for gauging achievement has reduced merit and hard work to second-class virtues. Rewarding illegal aliens with amnesty has cheapened the sacrifices of those lawful immigrants who have struggled to integrate into their new home countries. Allowing delusional men to dominate women’s sports has cheated female athletes of a fair playing field for pursuing excellence. In ways big and small, “woke” governments, corporations, and academic institutions cheat Western citizens of the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their own labors. Of course, systemic cheating is disguised in language that sounds noble. “Woke” Marxists use “fairness” jiujitsu to force disingenuous and unprincipled change.

In Biden’s America, we get half the story, if we’re lucky. If it doesn’t align with the administration’s narrative, it’s either ignored or skimmed over. Take, for instance, the case of 15 diverse, equitable, and inclusive teenagers who beat a white teen to death, which was reported as “a group of people” attacking “a teenager.” This downplays the hate crime element to fit the media’s narrative about black victims and “evil” white people. And there are numerous other stories like this across the country that you probably won’t hear about. Here’s one such example: the case of Alexander Bulakhov, an employee at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Alexander was shot and killed by two black people in front of his wife and child. Memphis has turned into such a cesspool of hate and crime.

Whedon: Senators press Biden admin on efforts to extradite Venezuela’s Maduro

pair of Republican senators on Wednesday pressed Attorney General Merrick Garland and Secretary of State Antony Blinken on efforts by the Biden administration to extradite Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. The Venezuelan leader came to power in 2013 and was officially reelected in 2018, in a contest widely viewed as a sham by international observers and he has effectively ruled as a dictator. The Department of Justice in 2020 announced indictments against him over an alleged conspiracy with a Columbian terrorist group to spread cocaine within the United States. “We are deeply concerned about the ability of Nicolas Maduro [sic], a fugitive of U.S. justice, to elude arrest and extradition despite numerous international trips since January 2021,” wrote Iowa GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley and Idaho GOP Sen. James Risch. “[W]e have noted that Maduro has traveled at least three times since January 2021 to countries with which the United States has extradition treaties,” they added.

Hundreds of “violent” anti-Israel protesters clashed with Capitol Police in Washington Wednesday evening during a rally outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters, prompting its evacuation. Video shows dozens of officers in riot gear desperately pushing back the unruly protesters as they charged toward the Canal Street and Ivy Street, SE building. The demonstrators — many wearing black shirts that read “Cease Fire Now” — were also seen trying to grab hold of metal barricades as the officers rushed in to make arrests. About 150 people were “illegally and violently protesting” outside the office, Capitol Police wrote on X.

The Institute for Justice (IJ) has filed a lawsuit against the State of New Jersey alleging that a secret government program is allowing for the harvesting and saving of newborn blood without the knowledge or consent of the babies’ parents. Whenever a child is born in New Jersey, the state government can collect and use DNA from the blood samples “for any reason, without informed consent from parents,” IJ says. The case charges that state law in New Jersey currently requires that whenever a baby is born, its blood must be collected and tested for various diseases, a policy similar to what other states require. “But, after the testing is over, New Jersey’s Department of Health keeps the leftover blood for 23 years,” IJ warns about what differentiates New Jersey’s newborn blood-testing policies from those of other states’. “The state does not ask parents for their consent to keep their babies’ blood, failing to even inform parents that it will hold on to the residual blood. […] “What makes New Jersey’s program so uniquely disturbing is the complete lack of safeguards for future abuse and the lack of consent, which leave the program ripe for abuse,” Hebert is quoted as saying.

In the first scene, a group of men, distracted from catcalling Carpenter, are struck by a truck, to which Carpenter responds with a simple shrug. In another part of the video, […] Feminism Is Cancer Carpenter’s feminist “utopia” is disturbing. She stokes division and hatred between the sexes. She degrades and objectifies herself and then acts shocked and vengeful when others do not respect her for it. She flips feminine instinct on its head, showcasing a disordered desire for women to watch their male counterparts die gory deaths for the crime of poorly expressed sexual desire. Of course, the reason many modern men fail to express themselves properly is largely thanks to secular culture, which rejects the West’s long-held moral code. Carpenter’s desecration of a church is powerfully symbolic of her rejection and disrespect toward Christianity, which is the solution to all the social ills showcased in the video.

Two women were removed as alumnae of their sorority after pushing for the sorority to allow only biological women as members. Patsy Levang and Cheryl Tuck-Smith were expelled from Kappa Kappa Gamma after they supported and fundraised for a lawsuit to remove Artemis Langford, a trans-identifying biological male as a member. The two women had been affiliated with the sorority for 50 years before they were expelled. Levang had previously been a Kappa Kappa Gamma National Foundation president. “My heart was saddened when the current six council members voted me out. However, I will not be quiet about the truth,” Levang said in a statement.

So, every side aims to find superior strategies, tactics, weapons, and manpower to ensure as great a disproportionate advantage as possible. Hamas is no exception.

Its savage precivilizational strategy to defeat Israel hinged on doing disproportionate things Israel either cannot or will not do.

IDF Lt. Col. (reserve) Jonathan Conricus is the spokesman who has become one of our favorites in Israel’s current war on Hamas. Conricus arrived on the scene at the al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City a few hours ago to document the ocular proof demanded by the AP of the Hamas way of war. The video seems almost to be addressed to the Hamasniks inside the AP. Hamas must have abandoned the hospital in a hurry. The video documents the guns, ammo, laptop, and other terrorist paraphernalia left behind — left behind the MRIs in the radiology wing of the hospital.

Chauvin, who was back in court Wednesday, is claiming that new evidence shows he didn’t cause Floyd’s death in Minnesota. In a motion filed in federal court Monday, Chauvin said he never would have pleaded guilty in 2021 if he had known about the theories of a Kansas pathologist, whom he had been in contact with in February. Chauvin is asking the judge who presided over his trial to throw out his civil rights conviction and order a new trial, or at least a hearing for him to present the new evidence.

Reuters: France Issues Arrest Warrant for Syrian President Assad

French judges have issued arrest warrants for Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad, his brother Maher al-Assad, and two other senior officials over the use of banned chemical weapons against civilians in Syria, a judicial source said on Wednesday. The arrest warrants—which refer to charges of complicity in crimes against humanity and complicity in war crimes—follow a criminal investigation into chemical attacks in the town of Douma and the district of Eastern Ghouta in August 2013, attacks which killed more than 1,000 people.
