It is precious to see so many college administrators, deans, and presidents now honing “principled,” absolutist commitments to freedom of speech on their campuses. When campuses were hosting Dennis Prager, Charles Murray, Charlie Kirk, or Riley Gaines, or even federal appellate court judges, the messages that used to ban or chase them off campus were “hate has no home here” or “the juice is not worth the squeeze.” Defamatory characterizations on the part of biased third parties such as the SPLC against these speakers as “white nationalists”—or worse—were used as evidence that they should not be protected. “Hate speech is not protected speech” became the bray of leftist academics and legislators across the whole country. To anyone even marginally familiar with First Amendment doctrine, “hate speech” has long been held to be constitutionally protected speech, because, in the absence of a direct and specific threat of violence, it has no easily defined and applicable legal standard. Legally speaking, hate speech does not exist.

Eretelt: Ohio passes Issue 1 to allow killing babies in abortions up to birth
Ohio voters approved Issue 1 tonight after a monumental abortion battle in the Buckeye State. With 57 percent of the vote counted, Ohio voted 56% to 44% for Issue 1, which will make killing babies in abortions a so-called “right” in the state constitution. The result was not surprising given how abortion advocates bought the vote. Also, Ohio voters also voted today on a ballot measure to legalize marijuana. That very likely increased turnout of liberal voters who were more likely to vote for abortion. […] The Associated Press (AP) reported Thursday that since September 8, the pro-abortion “yes” side in the referendum has raised almost three times more money than the pro-life “no” side: $29 million compared to less than $10 million. AP indicated that “the largest donations” supporting the pro-abortion “yes” campaign came from outside of Ohio. This included “three gifts totaling $5.3 million from the progressive Sixteen Thirty Fund, based in Washington, D.C.” […] As radical abortion activists promote Issue 1, which would allow abortions up to birth, they have also been targeting churches that are opposing it. Catholic schools, churches and cemeteries across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, for example, have posted in recent weeks that they have been victims of vandalism and attacks. Pro-abortion extremists have stolen, defaced or damages No on Issue 1 signs at pro-life business that are displaying them. And pro-life residents have experienced the same sorta of vandalism of their lawn signs on private residences.

In the lower chamber, the AP had projected 46 seats for the Democrats, whose candidates led in six other races as of press time. However, county officials said that electronic voting machines are flipping votes in Northampton County for deciding whether Pennsylvania Superior Court Judges Jack Panella and Victor Stabile should remain on the bench for additional 10-year terms.

The U.S. House Rules Committee has made in order an amendment by U.S. Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) that would defund the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) carbon endangerment finding enacted in 2009 by the Obama administration that arbitrarily defined carbon dioxide as a pollutant under the terms of the Clean Air Act. That finding was all but overturned by the Supreme Court’s 2022 West Virginia v. EPA decision that struck down the 2015 Obama Clean Power Plan, which did overturn the Court’s 2007 decision, Massachusetts v. EPA, a narrow 5-4 ruling by then-Justice Anthony Kennedy that had opened the door for federal regulation of carbon emissions and set the stage for the carbon endangerment finding and the Clean Power Plan’s rules on new and existing power plants. […] . . . as Roberts ultimately ruled, Congress never authorized the EPA to pursue such a goal, writing, “our precedent counsels skepticism toward EPA’s claim that Section 111 empowers it to devise carbon emissions caps based on a generation shifting approach. To overcome that skepticism, the Government must—under the major questions doctrine—point to ‘clear congressional authorization’ to regulate in that manner.” Because there was no such Congressional authorization, the regulatory scheme was legally baseless. And now Congress can close the gap once and for all—even if the damage has already been done to U.S. economy.

Wright amplified the mission of Hamas: to eradicate the Jews. He gave a prominent Hamas figure publicity in his popular church newsletter. Wright also befriended the likes of Louis Farrakhan and Muammar Gaddafi. As one pundit summarized it, “Obama marinated in two decades of Jew hatred” at Wright’s church. Maybe someday we’ll get to the bottom of Obama’s zeal for funding the extermination of Jews. Obama’s church publishes Hamas manifesto 1: In July 2007 Obama’s friend and mentor — Rev. Jeremiah Wright — published a Hamas manifesto in the Trinity Church newsletter. Front and center on the “Pastor’s Page” was a hateful tome written by a prominent Hamas official. […] Regarding terror apologists, Obama changed his views “to get Jewish donors and votes” 2: Debbie Schussel highlights Obama’s attendance of a 1998 “Arab community event”, presumably a fundraiser for the Palestinian cause. Kaufman: CAIR Leaders Shill for Hamas in American Media, Reporters Cooperate
As Israel continues to respond with force to the heinous October 7th attack perpetrated by Hamas terrorists who raped young women, kidnapped children, and burned families alive, television journalists try to demonstrate their objectivity by soliciting responses from Muslim leaders in the United States. In their effort to be evenhanded, they speak with leaders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization with deep and enduring ties to Hamas, the designated terrorist organization that perpetrated the October 7 massacre. CAIR is an offshoot of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was founded by Hamas operatives using seed money from a Hamas charity called the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), whose leaders were convicted in 2008 of providing material support for Hamas. As documented by the Investigative Project on Terrorism, CAIR was listed as a unindicted co-conspirator in the HLF trial as part of a campaign to “advance the Hamas agenda within the United States.” […] Reporters should stay well away from CAIR, Sean Durns, senior research analyst at the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA), told Focus on Western Islamism. “The media has long provided cover for CAIR, a faux civil rights organization with a long history of both extremism and antisemitism,” he said. “Reporters should note that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in one of the largest terrorism finance trials in U.S. history and several CAIR employees and lay leaders have been arrested and/or deported on terrorism related charges.”

Among Arab Israelis, prominent media personalities have helped lead an unprecedented surge in support for their country and opposition to their self-proclaimed liberator Hamas. Pro-Israel arguments that were previously almost unspeakable in the Arab mainstream have in recent weeks gotten a respectful hearing. Yoseph Haddad, a 38-year-old Christian Arab influencer, has skyrocketed to fame in Israel with his outspoken advocacy for the country in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. Haddad told CNN on Oct. 22 that Hamas’s attack was a wakeup call for the Arabs who constitute about 20 percent of Israel’s population. “We literally felt that Hamas could have conquered the south and then the center and also the north of Israel, where the majority of Arab Israelis are staying, and we had a very bad feeling about it,” said Haddad, who has more than 1.5 million followers across social media. “Immediately my friends and colleagues here said, ‘That’s the last thing that we want. We don’t want to live under a terrorist organization. We want to live in a democracy, and that’s what the state of Israel is.’”
Glick: Why are the Oct. 7 atrocities being denied?
Just as neo-Nazis both celebrate the Holocaust and deny it, so do those who rapturously greeted the stories of slaughtered and decapitated Jewish babies and men, and raped and dismembered Jewish women and girls, insist that Hamas didn’t commit any of those crimes. A notable aspect of the atrocities is that Hamas’s mass murderers didn’t try to hide them. Instead, they broadcast them worldwide as they carried them out. Armed with Go Pro cameras and the cellphones of their victims, the Palestinian terrorists in southern Israel filmed the rape, dismemberment, torture and execution of their victims on their victims’ own phones, posting them in their victims’ family WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages as they carried them out. They did the same with their own social-media platforms. No one needed researchers to comb through Hamas archives. The directions for the slaughter were found in documents that the terrorists carried with them into Israel. So why are supporters of Hamas tearing down posters of kidnapped Israeli children, women and men being held hostage in the Gaza Strip?

Sultan replied, “How convenient” for you. The Arab world goes silent when other Arabs kill their own but lose their minds when Israel defends itself in the aftermath of a vicious terror attack. The Foreign Desk: Women in Israel are Arming Themselves in Wake of Terror Attacks
The head of the Israeli weapons training school Caliber 3, Sharon Gat, told the newspaper, “Since October 7, many women have been coming to Caliber 3 to get licenses and train.” He further described the reason for the increase, “because a lot of women go out alone, live alone, or are at home alone while their husbands are away.” Gat said that the rise in the number of women seeking pistol permits was in the “hundreds of percentages.” […] Typically, to obtain a gun license in Israel an applicant must . . . […] Earlier this year, Israel’s national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir, recommended easing the historically strict rules, citing the need for individuals to protect themselves during terrorist attacks. The minister proposed . . . ‘The anxiety we experience just traveling to work daily in the Tenderloin is unbelievable,’ she wrote. ‘There are so many concerns and protections in place for drug users and homeless people but what about the working class that have to pray that they make it to and from work in this environment.
