The turbines will have 180 ft blades, spinning at close to 200 mph. They will kill seabirds or anything else that gets close and the constant down draft and vibration will permanently alter sea life in the entire surrounding area.

The closing speaker was of course, Donald J. Trump. He spoke about getting to know the Hardaway family, the Silk that he realized he didn’t know, and his commitment to addressing Black concerns. What was deemed most interesting in the President’s speech was when he humbly revealed that he didn’t know how to address us…. Black people. At around the 3 hour and 50 minute mark the President reveals to the attendees that he always felt ignorant with regard to how to address the Black community. “I always used to ask — what do you like better — African American?… Black? You know there are many different terms. They said “We like Black” — because I was always saying “African American.” Upon hearing this revelation, I could not help but admire his willingness to admit that he didn’t know, as well having the humility to ask. I’d never heard a politician ask before. This is what sets Donald Trump apart from politicians. He is not a politician. He has offered himself to Americans as a man of the people, and in keeping with that persona, he admitted that he just didn’t know. And how could he know? After all, in over a rather condensed period of time, we’d gone from “Colored” to “Negro” to “Black” to “African American.” I’d be confused too if I weren’t Black.

Brodow: If Trump Had Prevailed in 2020
As we approach the 2024 presidential election, it is a good time to contemplate what kind of shape the U.S. would be in if Donald Trump had prevailed in 2020. First and foremost, the U.S. would not be wasting billions in the defense of Ukraine from Russian aggression. Biden’s inept handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan is what emboldened Putin to attack Ukraine. With Trump in the White House, Putin would not have dared. The results: (1) The world would not be facing the threat of nuclear confrontation; and (2) The federal government would be able to deal with the Ohio train disaster instead of shoving it under the rug. Biden is subverting our national security as he allows the Mexican border to remain open, reinstates the Iran deal, provides support to the Palestinians, cuts back on the military, suffers Chinese spy balloons to overfly our military bases, and ignores China’s aggressive stance with respect to Taiwan and the South China Sea. None of this would be happening with a Trump administration. We would not be trying to cope with millions of unvetted illegals crossing into the U.S. Fentanyl imports would not be surging. China would not be encouraged to test us militarily. Every citizen would be able to sleep more soundly, knowing that our country’s security is in strong hands.

ew surveillance footage from the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021 reveals law enforcement inside gave VIP treatment to Jacob Chansley, known as the “Q-Anon Shaman.” Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s team reviewed more than 40,000 hours of video from that day and on Monday aired never-before-seen footage of Chansley’s time in the Capitol. Chansley, who infamously presided over an empty Senate chamber as rioters paraded through the complex, is seen being escorted by Capitol Police officers to multiple entrances throughout the building. At times, the officers escorting Chansley even appear to check for unlocked doors. “They helped him. They acted as his tour guides,” said Carlson, who was given access to the footage by Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. “We counted at least nine officers who were within touching distance of unarmed Jacob Chansley. Not one of them tried to slow him down.”

The Department of Homeland Security has for years been operating a secretive domestic-intelligence gathering program that agency employees have complained may be illegal, according report on Monday. The Overt Human Intelligence Collection Program — run out of the agency’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis — allows officials to bypass lawyers and seek intelligence interviews with individuals being held in local jails, federal prisons and immigrant detention centers, according to documents reviewed by Politico. […] An unnamed employee quoted in internal DHS documents called the Office of Intelligence and Analysis’ leadership team “shady” and run “like a corrupt government,” Politico reported. In another document, some employees were so concerned about the legality of their activities that they wanted DHS to cover legal liability insurance, the news outlet reported.

The Electronic Registration Information Center, or ERIC, is a multi-state partnership that experts across the political spectrum say is the only reliable, secure way for states to share voter registration data with each other. But on Monday, three Republican-led states announced they are pulling out of ERIC — leaving questions about the future of a system that up until recently was a bipartisan success story, as well as questions about how these three states will maintain accurate voter lists without such a resource. “[ERIC] is a godsend,” Paul Pate, the GOP secretary of state of Iowa, told NPR in an interview last month.
But state officials in Florida, Missouri and West Virginia have joined a growing number of Republicans who don’t see it that way.

Recognizing a potential niche, left wing activists created ERIC to clean voter rolls their way, using their rules. So in 2012 the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) was formed as a membership organization primarily for blue States. ERIC is essentially a left wing voter registration drive disguised as voter roll clean up. But it’s been gaining traction in Red States too. Originally funded by the Soros Open Society, it is now responsible for cleaning the voter rolls in 31 States, plus D.C. A top election official from each member State is appointed a seat on the ERIC Board or as an Officer, all unpaid positions. ERIC located 17 million new voters for the 2020 election, the most in the history of their organization. For comparison, they only found 5.7 million in 2012, Obama’s reelection. […] ERIC uses advanced technology including Artificial Intelligence from Senzing. This data matching AI compares information collected by member states with USPS address data and Social Security death records. But no one knows how else this data collected from the 31 States is being used. J. Christian Adams recently discussed ERIC in a John Fredericks Radio Show interview (starts 1:16:50). Adams says: “That’s part of the smoke screen. ERIC learns who gets registered from their program, so they’re able to micro target with whoever is partnered with ERIC. We don’t know who their interfacing all this data with. It could be Catalist, the massive Democrat database organization. We just don’t know. I’ve talked to some ERIC Board Members who are Secretary of States. They don’t even know what ERIC is doing. They’ve asked questions and can’t get answers.”

A Baltic monitoring media outlet has published footage of an enormous amount of American military equipment being prepared to move from the Port of Gdynia in Poland. The expanse of military hardware is being described as equipment belonging to the US Army’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. Some Eastern European media reports are claiming that at least a portion of the equipment, which looks multiple football fields in length, are bound for Kiev.

Liberals that scream at the top of their lungs about the environment are making fools of themselves again. They have been proven wrong for decades. First, they tried calling their Marxist fallacy global warming, then when the temps didn’t rise, they back flipped to new terminology, climate change. The supposed cure for climate change is Green Energy, which brings us things like electric cars, solar and wind farms. All of which have already been proven to be ineffective, except for limited applications. Naturally, the left won’t admit these failures and continues to pour billions of tax dollars down the drain. The fairy tale of climate change has never, ever, been about the environment. Climate change is about economic change, and guess what? We aren’t included. Those in power will wring every last penny out of this hoax, and you and I will live shorter, much more uncomfortable lives while they gloat and snicker about the gullibility of the “sheep” that our nation consists of. A prime example are these “supposedly, good for nature wind farms.” These eyesores are ridiculous. They are highly inefficient, require huge plots of ground, are difficult to maintain, have relatively short lifespans and kill hundreds of thousands of birds every year. Sure, the left will downplay these facts, but they know the truth. Remember, their end game has Nothing to do with the environment. These wind farms are nothing more than liberal smoke and mirrors to fool the naïve into a false sense of self-righteousness.

Robb: Why you shouldn’t believe science
Ae hear it all the time these days. “Believe the Science” and “If you don’t believe, you’re just anti-Science”. Proponents of various causes use Science as a bludgeon to attack anyone who disagrees with them. Most of the ones I encounter are on the political Left and accuse those on the Right as being anti-science because they dare question the dogma being presented as Science. The astute reader will note that I have capitalized the word “Science” at several points above, because Science, with a capital “S” has become the new source of revealed Truth that must simply be accepted without question. Believe, they demand, and you shall be saved! Unbelievers must be punished! As a practicing scientist with several decades of experience, I can say with some justification, that the words “science” and “belief” should not be tied together the way they often are today. What was once a process for systematic exploration and a way to answer the question “how do we know what we know?” has become an authoritarian tool to use against dissent in a new form of Inquisition. The climate is changing and human use of fossil fuels is causing it! Science tells us so and anyone who questions that is a climate denier! Only those who believe are real scientists. Vaccines are always good for you, and if an experimental biological agent is called a vaccine then you must Believe! Mr. Science himself, Dr. Fauci, says so! Green energy will save the planet! The list goes on and on, each claim supported by Science with a clear and definite absolute position. The Science is settled and is no longer to be questioned. Except …. Every one of those claims is disputed by real scientists practicing real science with valid arguments supported by good data and careful analysis. It is the nature of real science that nothing is settled. Some things may be widely accepted as likely true, but everything is always open to question. The history of science is filled with things that were commonly accepted as true, even as incontrovertibly true, that were later proved wrong.

A Minnesota state court ruled that USA Powerlifting must permit men to compete as women in its industry. […] In 2019, powerlifter JayCee Cooper, a man who identifies as a woman, filed a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, stating that USA Powerlifting violated the state’s Human Rights Act by prohibiting him and other athletes from competing in the female division. Cooper then filed a lawsuit against the organization in 2021.

Wehner: Arizona rancher charged with killing illegal migrant pleads not guilty during Monday arraignment
Arizona rancher George Alan Kelly was arraigned on lesser charges in court on Monday for shooting a Mexican national on his property on Jan. 30, according to reports. Kelly, 73, was originally charged with first-degree murder in relation to the shooting. […] On Monday, Kelly was back in court to be arraigned on second-degree murder and aggravated assault, to which he pleaded not guilty, CBS station KOLD reported. So it is with New York University’s selection of its new president, Linda Mills, a licensed clinical social worker and an NYU social work professor. She researches trauma and bias, as well as race and gender in the legal academy. She is a documentary filmmaker and teaches advocacy filmmaking. She serves as an NYU vice chancellor and as a senior vice provost for Global Programs and University Life. In all these roles, Mills is the very embodiment of the contemporary academy. The most significant part of her identity, however, and the one that ties the rest of her curriculum vitae together, is that she is female, and thus overdetermined as NYU’s next president. Mills is part of the Great Feminization of the American university, an epochal change whose consequences have yet to be recognized. Seventy-five percent of Ivy League presidents are now female. Nearly half of the 20 universities ranked highest by Forbes will have a female president this fall, including MIT, Harvard, and Columbia. Of course, feminist bean-counters in the media and advocacy world are not impressed, noting that “only” 5 percent of the 130 top U.S. research universities are headed by a black female and “only” 22 percent of those federal grant-magnets have a non-intersectional (i.e., white) female head. […] Another newly installed female college president, Dartmouth’s Sian Leah Beilock, claims that the two “most pressing challenges of our time” are the “mental crisis among young people” and climate change. College institutions “really have a part to play in how we support students” suffering from that mental health crisis, Beilock tweeted recently. (A psychologist, Beilock specializes in improving female success in science by combatting performance anxiety, making her another overdetermined choice for university president.)

Horrifying cases of women being raped in their rooms at top hotel chains are occurring because staff are allegedly handing over keys to sexual predators unchecked, The Post can reveal. In two separate cases in Texas, men allegedly broke into women’s rooms after lying to staff to obtain keycards. In an even more shocking incident, one man was allegedly able to convince police and hotel staff to deliver his victim to his room at a Hilton-owned property. One alleged unwanted entry was only foiled when a quick-thinking woman slammed a door on an intruder’s hand — severing his finger clean off in the process.

On April 26, 1986 in the northern part of Ukraine, about 80 miles from Kiev, a nuclear power plant named “Chernobyl” experienced a massive surge in the “#4 reactor” which resulted in a chemical explosion, releasing over 500 dangerous radionuclides into the air. Residents of the cities surrounding Chernobyl fled, turning them into abandoned ghost towns – except for the animals. Sadly, most residents left their pets behind to fend for themselves…and “fend” they did. Much to the surprise of everyone, decades later, the descendants of those abandoned “Chernobyl” dogs have survived, interbred, and also thrived beyond what anybody thought possible. As a matter of fact, they thrived so much, that a new rare “dog” was created from the ashes of nuclear fallout.

Since 2018, Enrique Jiménez, professor of ancient Near, Eastern literature at the Institute of Assyriology at LMU and his group have been working to digitize every cuneiform tablet still in existence. The project has processed up to 22,000 text fragments during that time. “It’s a tool that didn’t exist before, a huge database of fragments. We believe it can play a vital role in reconstructing Babylonian literature, allowing us to make much faster progress,” Arkeonews quoted Jiménez as saying on Sunday. Aptly named the Fragmentarium, it is designed to piece together fragments of text using systematic, automated methods. The designers expect that the program will also be able to identify and transcribe photos of cuneiform scripts in the future. To date, thousands of additional cuneiform fragments have been photographed in collaboration with the British Museum in London and the Iraq Museum in Baghdad. The team is training an algorithm to piece together fragments that have yet to be situated in their proper context. Already, the algorithm has newly identified hundreds of manuscripts and many textual connections.

Sophie Labelle, a trans cartoonist who has come under fire for creating “diaper fur” fetish art, attacked this reporter after an event in Manchester, England that was part of Labelle’s tour of the United Kingdom. […] If Labelle was simply a cartoonist who writes about trans issues, I doubt there would have been outsized attention on the speaking tour, other than the usual conservative commentators and trans-critical feminists on Twitter. But drawing political comics, albeit ones that defend giving children hormone blockers, is not what provoked the mainstream outrage. In 2021, it was uncovered that Labelle used their artistic talent to create content under the name of “WafflesArt.” Unlike the “Assigned Male” series, these illustrations involve “drawings of anthropomorphic baby animal characters modelling in diapers, onesies, and behaving like toddlers,” as Reduxx reported. Disturbingly, one image was discovered of a puppy character wearing a diaper entering a swimming pool. Internet sleuths matched the image up to a photograph of an actual real life baby, which Labelle had apparently used as a reference for the “art.” As the story goes, Labelle first attempted to come out as a “little.” In this fetish, a “little” is a person who roleplays as a child during sexual encounters. Labelle later admitted they “made some diaperfur art” in a post on Twitter.
