Guilty verdicts—almost certain given the government’s near-perfect conviction rate for January 6 defendants—would build legal momentum for a similar indictment against Donald Trump. (The trial is so crucial that Matthew Graves, the Biden-appointed U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia responsible for prosecuting every January 6 case, has shown up in the courtroom on at least three occasions.) Trump is a major figure in this trial, an unindicted coconspirator of sorts.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is one of the Deep State 51 who lent his credibility to the open letter to the castigation of the New York Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop. According to Clapper et al., the emails reported by the Post “ha[ve] all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” Given to Natasha Bertrand, the letter was published by Politico in conjunction with the story “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.” […] Clapper elaborated on the “disinformation” theme on CNN (video below). Glenn Greenwald accurately comments: “Every word in this October 17, 2020 interview with James Clapper on CNN by @ErinBurnett – every word – is false.” Politico’s Natasha Bertrand, by the way, has since moved on to CNN. With House Republicans investigating, Clapper must hear footsteps. He now says Politico “deliberately distorted” the letter of the Deep State 51 flagging the Post’s reporting as “disinfo.” According to Clapper, Politico was guilty of “message distortion.”

Fleetwood: After Ranked-Choice Voting Rigged Their Elections, Alaska Conservatives Fight To Reclaim Democracy

In the lead-up to the 2020 election, out-of-state dark money poured into Alaska to hijack the state’s elections by tricking voters into implementing a ranked-choice voting system. Now, following a midterm election fraught with record-low turnout and confused voters, Alaska’s conservatives are fighting to take back control of their state’s electoral process. Known as Alaskans for Honest Elections, the grassroots organization is leading a statewide signature-collecting effort to put an initiative on the 2024 ballot to repeal Alaska’s ranked-choice voting (RCV) system, which voters narrowly adopted in 2020. Last month, Alaska Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom certified the group’s application for a petition to repeal RCV, meaning the organization may now begin collecting signatures from voters across the state. The group must get nearly 27,000 valid signatures in order for the initiative to appear on the ballot for the 2024 contest.

“We’ve put together over 5,000 volunteers who will be gathering [signatures] all over the state,” Art Mathias, who’s helping spearhead the signature drive, told The Federalist. “We’re going to be at several outdoor shows, boating shows.” We have volunteers who will “go to their friends, to their churches, to the shopping malls. Wherever people come through, [they’ll] collect signatures.” Under RCV, which critics call “rigged-choice voting,” voters . . .

If you’ve worked hard to afford a suburban house with a patch of lawn where your kids can play, you’re under attack. The Biden administration and Democrats in New York, Connecticut and other states are fighting local zoning laws in order to build high-rise apartment buildings with “affordable” units in tree-lined, single-family neighborhoods. All in the name of equity, meaning everyone can live in a tranquil suburb, whether they’ve earned the money to pay for it or not. The Biden administration announced Jan. 19 that it will require all towns across the U.S. to submit “Equity Plans” showing how they will make it possible for low-income people to live there by providing affordable housing, transportation and other resources. Towns that don’t meet the cookie-cutter requirement for economic diversity will lose federal funding.

Much as the Obama IRS targeted conservative groups for audits, the tax collection agency has subjected an elections nonprofit to a battery of prying questions about its policy positions, language choices and methodology for arriving at correct opinions and conclusions prior to peremptorily rejecting its application for tax-exempt status without appeal. […] In an alleged targeting action reminiscent of the Lerner scandal, the Biden IRS last year subjected election education nonprofit Adams, Baldwin, and Covey Foundation, Inc. (ABC) to interrogation the group believes infringed its speech rights under the First Amendment.

The IRS questions are “further evidence that the Biden administration believes it has the authority to license thought and speech, and it doesn’t,” said Phill Kline, a founder of the organization. […] Some of the IRS questions reflect the far-reaching efforts by the Biden administration in collaboration with allies in the corporate and nonprofit worlds to recast dissent from official affirmations of the invariant purity of U.S. elections as “disinformation” subject to censorship and even prosecution in the name of domestic security or “democracy.”

“Forget the balloon, we are already at war with China,” writes Bart Marcois, deputy assistant secretary of energy for international affairs during the administration of George W. Bush. As evidence, Marcois cites the assault on energy independence, China’s biological warfare designs, Fentanyl, TikTok, and last but not least, “the Biden family.” The former foreign service officer makes some good points but one needs updating. “The U.S. military has shot down four flying objects over North American airspace over the past eight days,”(emphasis added) the Epoch Times reported on February 12. On February 10 and 11, U.S. fighters shot down flying objects over Alaska and Canada’s Yukon territory. […] If embattled Americans saw China’s surveillance gear as a kind of “invitasion” it would be hard to blame them. At this writing, Biden has not issued an official statement condemning China for the four objects shot down over North American. For Bart Marcois, those objects are not the key issue. “The Chinese don’t need balloons to attack us,” he contends, “they are already here,” with TikTok, Fentanyl, biological agents and the Biden family. As we now know, the Biden family’s financial entanglements with China are not a matter of “Russian disinformation.” Embattled Americans could be forgiven for believing this administration is a China-occupied government (COG), with Joe Biden the primary cog.

According to John Kirby, the pentagon has no idea what objects they have shot out of the sky, no idea what they are used for, no idea where they came from and not a single one of the three this weekend has been recovered. At this point all of these government officials are beclowning themselves.

Kirby even says these objects could be commercial in nature, belonging to some tech company doing mapping etc and do not have to be ‘nefarious at all’. Yet if that were the case, the people who launched them would need licenses and would likely be making some form of admission. This is well beyond silly.

The announcement from NORAD comes amid national security concerns after U.S. officials shot down four objects over North America this month, including a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina and three similar objects in Alaska, Michigan, and Canada.

President Biden’s long overdue decision to end the Covid-19 public health emergency declaration on May 11 has exposed the big-government activists who used the pandemic to expand and entrench the nanny state. At the start of the pandemic, the federal government passed a law prohibiting states from removing ineligible individuals from Medicaid until the emergency declaration was ended. In exchange, the federal government picked up a bigger share of the program’s cost at taxpayers’ expense. Medicaid enrollment increased by 25 percent, and the nature of the program changed from a temporary stopgap to something more permanent. Thanks to the December budget deal, states will finally be allowed to resume checking Medicaid eligibility in April. […] The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which is looking into waste, fraud, and abuse in Covid programs, said it has “seen reports that $266 billion in improper payments were made by Medicaid during the pandemic.” That is an outrage, but here’s what happens in the normal course of events with permanent entitlements. In 2022 . . . […] The best thing policymakers can do for the truly needy is to broaden the scope and flexibility of Medicaid benefits. One avenue would be to adopt a solution from my organization’s Personal Option plan and allow lower- and middle-class Americans to set aside a portion of Medicaid benefits directly into health savings accounts at levels that meet the unique personal needs of users and local communities. HSAs allow beneficiaries to build up a health-care nest egg they can use when a medical emergency arises. Nine in 10 Americans do not have access to HSAs that could meet their needs and expand their medical care options while driving down costs for users and strained state governments. The federal government’s onerous regulations on HSAs have limited their availability to all but the luckiest American workers.

A Pacific Union train, reportedly carrying hazardous materials, derailed in Montgomery, Texas, north of Houston. At around 7:30 a.m., the train collided with an 18-wheeler, killing the truck driver, and causing 21 rail cars to derail. […] More than a dozen trains have derailed in the United States in the first month and a half of this year, Newsweek reported. According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 54,539 train derailments have occurred in the U.S. from 1990 to 2021. Taylor Holzer, owner of a dairy farm just outside the evacuation zone in East Palestine, told WKBN several foxes he keeps on his property have become mortally ill. “Out of nowhere, he just started coughing really hard, just shut down, and he had liquid diarrhea and just went very fast,” Holzer told the outlet of one of his animals. New York City has recently abandoned the vaccine requirement {SEE HERE}, but the lawyers for the plaintiffs are continuing the lawsuit against the city because employment in the private sector is now impacted because the names of the unvaccinated are flagged in justice files within state and federal criminal justice records. Pre-employment background checks now “flag with problem codes,” tagging the applicant as a potential criminal risk simply for being unvaccinated.

Mackinnon: California may bar schools from suspending unruly students because doing so is allegedly discriminatory

The bill would prevent students in grades 1 through 12 from being suspended for “disrupting school activities or otherwise willfully defying the valid authority of supervisors, teachers, administrators, school officials, or other school personnel engaged in the performance of their duties.” In addition to giving a pass to disruptive and unruly students set on interrupting classes and making it difficult for other students to learn, Skinner’s bill also prohibits the suspension or expulsion of students who are “truant, tardy, or otherwise absent from school activities.”

Under the new bill (H 5461), cities and towns would be permitted to “allow all residents of the municipality to vote in municipal elections for municipal officeholders regardless of the immigration status of the residents.” The measure also stipulates that the locality’s board of canvassers is required to coordinate with Rhode Island’s secretary of state and board of elections to “develop the forms and instructions to implement the provisions” of the new law, “as well as any rules and regulations necessary to ensure that any ballot for municipal officeholders only is kept separate and apart from ballots distributed to [citizen] voters … and counted separately for transmission to the board of elections.” The legislation does not specify what constitutes proof of residency.
