NOTABLE QUOTES

Ronny Jackson (R-TX) tweeted: I served as White House physician under THREE Presidents. I’ve seen what it takes physically AND mentally to do the job. I can tell you right now that the way Biden is hiding from the public is a MAJOR red flag. Something’s not right!

Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh contributor to Canada Free Press: The regressive and Marxist elements of America and of the entire developed world are busy “building back better” under their hero Biden and a globalist cabal led by the World Economic Forum and the United Nations.

Conrad Black contributor to American Greatness: So swift has the crisis of American democracy arisen that even those who clearly see the threats to it from these initiatives of the Democrats can scarcely believe their senses that such an assault could occur in a country that has had a legitimate claim to be the principal democracy in the world, either alone or along with Great Britain, for all of its history.

Linda Goudsmit contributor to Canada Free Press: Cancel-culture is asymmetric warfare used by the advancing enemy to prepare the population for a replacement ideology.

Christopher Jacobs contributor to The Federalist offers advice to conservative governors regarding Biden’s bailout money: Thanks, but no thanks—you can keep your bailouts, and we’ll keep our control.

Peter D’Abrosca contributor to American Greatness: The Branch Covidians, like most cults, allow their high-profile members to have special privileges, which is why John Kerry doesn’t have to wear his mask on an airplane like the rest of the cult. Ordinary Branch Covidians won’t question this obvious double standard. They will do what they do best. Comply.

Paul Bedford contributor to American Greatness: The Chamber is firmly opposed to making America great again. The sooner it loses its influence over the Republican Party, the better.

Daniel Greenfield contributor to Frontpage Magazine writing about crime perpetrated against Asians in NYC: Here’s a thought. Maybe instead of writing grad school essays about whiteness, the media could deal with the fact that the attacks on Asians are not caused by President Trump condemning the People’s Republic of China, but by Democrats turning cities into hellholes where criminals and junkie vagrants run free.

Ben Shapiro conservative political commentator and columnist: So you keep hearing that Joe Biden is doing a magnificent job on COVID. That he inherited a mess, and now we’re on the right track. Here’s the problem: That’s not true. They’re not following the science. They’re lying about the plans. They’re setting unattainable standards for reopening. And they are doing all of this for political gain.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

Nolte: Brilliant Border Statement Proves Twitter-less Trump Is Better than Tweeting Trump
Former President Donald Trump’s weekend statement blistering His Fraudulency Joe Biden’s jaw-dropping (and avoidable) border mismanagement and crisis brought two thoughts to my mind. The first was how perfect the statement is. It’s a beautiful piece of work that exposes the Biden administration as the feckless, heartless liars and lunatics they truly are. Secondly, I thought about how Twitter-less Trump is so much more effective than Twittering Trump. All I’m saying is this: Imagine if, during the pandemic and riots, instead of Trump’s “LAW AND ORDER!!!” tweets, we got periodic statements like the one released this weekend — thoughtful, perfectly crafted, compassionate, logical, common sense statements. I think things might have turned out very differently. Imagine if today Trump was constantly popping off on Twitter at Biden. Those tweets might have been 100 percent accurate, but the fake media would be making those the story, which would give Biden all kinds of cover and a place to hide.

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Kelly: The Feds’ Bogus Violent Extremists
In her first official act as Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines issued a flashing red alert to the country. Jihadi-like Americans, especially those on the political Right, lurk among us and are plotting to commit vicious crimes such as kidnapping and assassinations. These “US-based actors” allegedly will be moved to violence based on “narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the US Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories,” the March 1, 2021 document claims. Haines divides “domestic violent extremists,” or DVEs, into three categories; a graphic of the U.S. Capitol building sits atop the category entitled “anti-government/anti-authority violent extremists.” That particular brand of terrorist, according to the report, is driven by their “opposition to perceived economic, social, or racial hierarchies or perceived government overreach, negligence, or illegitimacy.” (Perceived?) The thin, three-page paper does little to substantiate her alarming assessment; . . . […] Who’s Watching the Real Terrorists?

THE FIRST AMENDMENT IS UNDER ATTACK

Rabbi Menken: How The Equality Act Would Legalize Religious Bigotry
The Founding Fathers recognized freedom of expression and religious liberty as core elements of diversity and tolerance. Now, nearly 250 years later, Congress is acting to stamp them out, ushering in a new era of government-sanctioned anti-religious bigotry. While no one could argue this is motivated by anti-Jewish bias in particular, the disproportionate repression of Jewish religious practice — by a law unironically billed as an “Equality Act,” no less — is far too significant to ignore. […] . . . the Equality Act explicitly targets the Bible, calling it a bigoted document filled with discriminatory stereotypes. These include the idea that male and female sexes are biological, not psychological (Genesis 1:27), created with procreation in mind (1:28), and that marriage is the unique, holy contract between man and woman forming the environment in which that procreation is intended to take place (2:24). And one cannot forget that which the Bible proscribes as an “abomination” in Leviticus 18:22.

2020 ELECTION

Shiver: Arizona Senate GOP to conduct full hand recount, machine audit of 2020 election results in Maricopa County
In a news release posted on the group’s website last Thursday, the state Senate’s Republican caucus announced that it had selected a forensic team to conduct the audit and is now finalizing details on how the review would be executed. “As thousands of our voters continue to call for a thorough audit of the 2020 election in Maricopa County, I am pleased to report we have narrowed it down to a preferred forensic audit team. We are negotiating final details on the execution of the audit and hope to have an announcement soon,” wrote Senate President Karen Fann in the news release. Read more at The Blaze.

2022/2024 ELECTIONS

Kotkin: Battlefield ‘Burbs
America’s political future turns on our last contestable places. America’s political culture has been shaped by its rural and urban environments, each of which tends to be dominated by one party. Urban Republicans are now as rare as rural Democrats. Yet the political future of the country lies in the suburban and exurban rings that dominate every metropolitan region. These voters are made up predominately neither of woke city hipsters nor gun-toting rubes, the stereotypes that dominate our competing cultural memes. The suburbs are the last contestable geography in the country. Since 1950, suburban population growth has expanded more than ten times faster than core cities. Overall, suburb-dwellers account for more than half the population of the country, and 90 percent of the overall population of metropolitan America. Over the past decade, they have accounted for well over four-fifths of all new job growth (and the vast majority of all new patents). As one political analyst put it, “Suburbs are the new Florida.” These trends were expanding before the pandemic, but as realtors attest, Covid has accelerated city residents’ movement to suburbs. Manhattan and San Francisco rents have been falling some, but prices in the periphery have been rising. A new national poll from the Los Angeles Times and Reality Check Insights, held after the November 2020 election, found that most residents of big cities want to relocate.

Keene: Two border Democrats won’t seek re-election in 2022 amid border crisis
Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Texas, announced that he would not be seeking re-election to his House seat as the border crisis grows and redistricting in the state of Texas looms. Vela is the second Democrat to announce their retirement after the 117th Congress, joining Arizona Democrat Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, who announced her retirement earlier this month. Both members have districts along the U.S.-Mexico border in states where Republicans are looking to pick up seats in the 2022 midterm elections. Their retirements come as President Joe Biden is facing down an immigration crisis at the Southern border his administration is struggling to keep control over.

PATEL: The Truth Nobody Tells About Our Voting Rules
There aren’t a lot of people who tell the truth about voting rules. As the Senate takes up the bill the House just passed to drastically amend the rules that govern our elections, it seems like a good time to step back and examine what’s really going on. For some reason, the truth is missing from almost all the reporting, both in the liberal press and in conservative media. Both Republicans and Democrats approach debates over the rules and systems for our elections with the same fundamental belief: Making voting easy helps Democrats, and making voting harder helps Republicans. This premise is grounded in historical fact. For many years, older and higher-educated voters have turned out to vote in higher numbers on average than younger and lower-educated voters. Republicans used to be dominant with older and more educated people. This led to a common and still enduring belief among both Republicans and Democrats that Republican voters are more committed to getting their vote in and will therefore turn out in higher numbers, even in a strict system. The belief is the same on the other side: Democrats are less likely to turn out to vote on average, so systems that make voting easier are more likely to motivate marginally interested Democrats than Republicans. Again, there isn’t a ton of debate about this premise. Both parties believe it. The first obvious point is . . .

Fred T.: NOW Gov. Kristi Noem is threatening a SPECIAL SESSION and demanding a NEW trans sports bill
I would love to make sense of this story in a neat and tidy way so you could read it and then go “oh, so THAT’S what’s going on here” but, you know what? I don’t think that’s possible when it comes to Gov. Kristi Noem’s on again, off again status with the bill that is supposed to protect girls from being forced to compete against, and shower with, biological males. […] Now, she denied she was caving, and made definitive tweet statements about not wanting men to play women’s sports. But tweets are tweets and they hold even less water when they’re part of a thread where you’re backing out of a bill you were previously supporting because suddenly you find it has “style” problems. And when that sudden change of heart comes just a week or so after the woke press threatened that Amazon could cancel some big business deals in the state over the signing of that bill that you already committed to and attached your political reputation to. Now she’s taking some of that not-backed-up tough tweet talk up a notch, . . . […] It sounds like the right words, but it’s in the context of the last 24 hours so who knows. American Principles ain’t buying it.

Bradford: Will the GOP Finally Turn from the Chamber Of Commerce?
If the GOP wants to put America First, it should put the Chamber of Commerce in its place. […] For years, the Chamber has pushed the GOP to embrace amnesty for illegal aliens and mass immigration. It spent over $50 million in 2013 to lobby for the Gang of Eight amnesty plan. In 2018, the group demanded an immediate amnesty for at least 1 million illegals and publicly rebuked any attempts to restrict migration. Last year, it sued the Trump Administration for halting most immigration to protect American jobs in a devastated economy. […] The Chamber recently praised Biden’s open borders initiatives that would undermine American sovereignty and American jobs. […] The group also now supports the woke agenda. The Chamber’s president, Suzanne Clarke, wrote an op-ed last July that endorsed much of Black Lives Matter’s agenda.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Lifson: Report: White House directs all agencies to refer to ‘Biden-Harris administration’
It begins. Faster than anyone anticipated. As Joe Biden falls 3 times in a light breeze boarding Air Force One, the latest sign of dementia he presents, and as his first-ever press conference looms next week, the public is being prepared for a transition of power to Kamala Harris. The gay conservative site Outspoken reports that it has received leaked emails revealing: …the White House is shifting toward a communication strategy that seeks to elevate Vice President Kamala Harris in all official White House business. The directive, the employee reports, came from . . . . […] Apparently, the order already is being implemented:
The highly specific language also appears on the websites of all 15 executive departments. Press releases and other communications from . . .

Paugh: The Sovietization of the United States of America
We are being Sovietized every day in every aspect of our lives and Americans not only seem to be fine with it, they are embracing it with both glee and trepidation. The promise of everything free is too enticing to resist. The viral pandemic was the straw that broke the capitalist camel’s back and there is no going back. Installing Drs. Fauci and Brix as absolute authorities of the pandemic lockdown, day in and day out, initially for two weeks to flatten the curve, has assured warp-speed Sovietization which has not stopped to this day. Marxist Governors and Democrats won’t give up because they never “let a crisis go to waste.” The idiotic lockdowns, taken to extremes by Governors from blue states for the last year, drove the proverbial nail in the coffin of our former freedoms. […] Our masked and Sovietized children are hidden behind forced muzzles that hide their identity, their humanity.

Black: H.R. 1 is Emblematic of the Crisis of American Democracy
There is no evidence at all after 60 days of the new administration, of any disposition to collaborate with moderate Republicans in a centrist response to the many policy challenges the administration faces. […] There is no conceivable alternative interpretation of the administration’s performance to date than that, as is widely accused and not even energetically denied, the Democrats intend to admit practically unlimited numbers of unskilled and unscreened people into the United States and qualify them immediately as voters. At the same time, they intend to eliminate any procedure for the verification of votes, the monitoring of the eligibility of voters, or of the correct allocation of votes to the places of residential districts of the electors. The ancient concept of Election Day is to be reconfigured as a . . . the Democrats are planning to ensure that they never lose a federal election again.

CLIMATE CRISIS: IT’S POLITICAL

Hinderacker: THE HARM DONE BY ENVIRONMENTALISTS
The damage done by contemporary environmentalism is a big topic. For now I want to note two important instances that are on my mind because they are fronts on which my organization, Center of the American Experiment, is battling self-interested or misguided environmentalists. Environmentalists cause great damage by blocking needed development, including exploitation of mineral resources. This is grossly hypocritical, since the principal goal of today’s environmental movement is to replace fossil fuels by electrifying everything, while getting the bulk of our electricity from wind and solar power. Apart from being impossible, the amount of mining that would need to be done to supply the necessary electrical hardware and batteries would dwarf anything in human history. At the same time, however, environmentalists refuse . . .

D’Abrosca: The Branch Covidians
It’s the largest cult that’s ever existed. One year ago, the entire non-thinking population of the planet—the people who walk through life without questioning much, viewing reality through a warped prism distorted by unimpressive cable news anchors of average intellect—banded together to do what they do best: take orders. They’re called the Branch Covidians, and as with all other cultists, it doesn’t matter how many false prophecies are spewed by their leaders. In their own minds, they still manage to justify following the directions of the people in charge.

A CULTURE IN DECLINE

Goudsmit: The Collapsing American Family
That explains the radical leftist attack on the American family? To answer this question we must understand the combatants in terms of competing ideologies. Leftism is rooted in Marxist collectivism and loyalty to the state. Conservatism is rooted in individualism and loyalty to the family. Consider the communist revolution in China. Thousands of years of venerating the family was extinguished and replaced with loyalty to the Communist Chinese Party (CCP). Maoists instituted a national cancel-culture campaign that burned books, demolished statues, erased history, destroyed culture and cultural norms in a re-education campaign that replaced traditional Chinese culture with Maoist slogans and loyalty to the state. In contemporary America, the radical leftist Democrats are following the Maoist cancel-culture model. They are targeting the three supporting pillars of American society; the American family, our Judeo-Christian faith, and the U.S. Constitution symbolized by our American flag. Cancel-culture is asymmetric warfare used by the advancing enemy to prepare the population for a replacement ideology. How is this possible in the United States of America?

(H/T PC) Snyder: America’s Worst Drug Crisis Ever Is Causing The Streets Of Many Cities To Look Like “Zombie Apocalypse” Has Arrived
America has been battling illegal street drugs for decades, but we have never seen anything like this. When the COVID pandemic hit the U.S., illegal drug use dramatically surged, and that has carried over into 2021. As I discussed a few days ago, the amount of meth that CBP agents have seized is up 9 percent so far in fiscal year 2021 and the amount of cocaine that CBP agents have seized is up 64 percent so far in fiscal year 2021. But the largest increase has been in fentanyl traffic. At this point, CBP agents have seized “more than 4,900 lbs of fentanyl during the first five months of FY21, already surpassing the total for all of FY20”. The big drug cartels absolutely love fentanyl for a couple of reasons.
