John Kudla contributor to American Thinker: In the game of world domination and power politics, we could have one or both of the world’s most ruthless dictators in one corner. While in the other, we have the world’s foremost beneficiary of identity politics plus a gang of frightened European socialists. What could go wrong?

Julie Kelly senior contributor to American Greatness: If McCarthy follows through on his promise, the world will see the biggest inside job—an actual coup—in U.S. history unfold before their eyes. Not only is it necessary to expose the truth of January 6 but to exonerate innocent Americans whose lives have been destroyed in the aftermath. Roll the tapes.

Post Editorial Board: To recap: Biden was only ex-vice president when he carried off his secrets — meaning he had zero right to do so. Yet he asked on “60 Minutes” of Trump’s docu-mess, “How could anyone be that irresponsible?”

Rep. Jim Jordon (R-OH) chairman of the House Judiciary Committee: “Isn’t it interesting that we didn’t know about Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal until after the midterm elections?”

Rep. Hank Johnson (D- CA) has a conspiracy theory: “My response to it all is that alleged classified documents showing up allegedly in the possession of Joseph Biden, you know, I mean, there’s so much that needs to be investigated. And that’s, that’s what I called for is for everything to be investigated, but I’m suspicious of the timing of it. I’m also aware of the fact that things can be planted on people, places and things can be planted, things can be planted in places and then discovered conveniently, that may be what has occurred here. I’m not ruling that out.”

Jonathan Turley, Shapiro Chair of Public Interest Law at George Washington University tweeted: The President just said that the documents found in his garage are in a “locked garage” like his corvette. The corvette standard is actually not in classified protocols…

Kinnard: Trump to hold 1st public campaign event in South Carolina

Former President Donald Trump is planning to hold the first public campaign event of his 2024 White House bid in the early-voting state of South Carolina. Campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told The Associated Press on Thursday that Trump will visit South Carolina later this month. No other details were immediately announced. Since announcing his latest presidential run in November, Trump has limited his public campaign appearances to events at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida before an invited crowd or in a virtual setting. The South Carolina visit, first reported by Politico, comes as Trump’s campaign has faced criticism, even among some longtime allies, for its low profile since the announcement.

Kelly: What the January 6 Videos Will Show

The jury trial of Richard Barnett, the man famously photographed with his feet on a desk in Nancy Pelosi’s office on January 6, 2021, is underway in Washington, D.C. Nearly two years to the date of his arrest, Barnett finally had a chance to defend himself in court on multiple charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding. But it was not the fiery, outspoken Barnett who provided the most jaw-dropping testimony in the trial so far. To the contrary, one of the government’s own witnesses confirmed under defense cross-examination that “agents provocateur” were heavily involved in instigating the events of January 6. Captain Carneysha Mendoza, a tactical commander for U.S. Capitol Police at the time, testified Wednesday how a group of agitators destroyed security barriers and lured people to Capitol grounds that afternoon: . . . […] It was a stunning admission, representing the first time a top law enforcement official stated under oath (to my knowledge) that a coordinated, experienced group of agitators engaged in much of the mischief early that day. Under further questioning, Mendoza acknowledged those same individuals . . .

Barkoukis: McCarthy ‘Sends DC in Utter Panic’ After This Statement About January 6

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Thursday he is considering releasing security footage from the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot—all 14,000 hours of it. “I think the public should see what happened on that day. I watched what Nancy Pelosi did, where she politicized it. Where, for the first time in the history as a speaker, not allowing the minority to appoint to a committee, to pick and choose,” he told reporters. “We watched the politicization of this. I think the American public should actually see all what happened instead of a report that’s written for a political basis.” He added: “I want to be very thoughtful about it, but yes.”

Silverio: ‘That Jeapordized All Of Us’: Kevin McCarthy Shreds Reporter Over Question About Eric Swalwell

McCarthy said that Swalwell should not serve on any committee due to his alleged relationship with Chinese spy Christine Fang, also known as “Fang Fang.” “I was very clear early on. Let me phrase something very direct to you,” McCarthy said. “If you got the briefing I got from the FBI, you wouldn’t have Swalwell on any committee. And you’re gonna tell me other Democrats couldn’t fill that slot? He cannot get a security clearance in the private sector, so would you like to give him a government clearance?” […]  He further criticized the press for repeatedly asking about Republican New York Rep. George Santos’ record of making false statements while giving Swalwell a pass. “You asked me questions about [George] Santos. Have you asked the questions about Swalwell? Not only was he getting a clearance, he was inside an intel committee. He had more information than the majority of all the members. Did you ever raise that issue? No, but you should’ve.”

Post Editorial Board: Speaker McCarthy eviscerates the ‘Biden’s document mess is different’ defense

The idea that President Joe Biden’s case is entirely different from ex-President Donald Trump’s is the media’s first line of defense for the current prez. And yes, lots of details differ. But, as McCarthy noted, many of them make Biden look worse. The speaker’s demolition of the apples-to-apples critique was a powerful performance, slicing all the issues expertly. He rightly pointed to the irony that a guy “on ’60 Minutes’ that was so concerned about President Trump’s documents” now has been revealed to have kept secret documents “for years out in the open in different locations,” none of them secure.

Now to the double standard: “Did he utilize the Justice Department to raid President Trump?” And: “You watched them leak photos of files of President Trump; where’s the photos of President Biden’s documents?” That is: “Why would they . . .  […]  Then came the turnaround: . . .

House Oversight panel to probe China money to university where Biden worked, classified memos found

The chairman of the main House investigative committee announced Thursday that he is expanding his probe of the Biden family to examine the University of Pennsylvania’s reliance on Chinese donations during the time it employed President Joe Biden and hosted his think tank, where classified documents were recently found improperly stored. House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer announced the decision after Just the News reported Wednesday night that the Ivy League university, affectionately known as Penn, collected $67.6 million in donations from Chinese sources between 2013 and 2019, two-thirds of it while employing Joe Biden as a guest professor and hosting his Penn Biden Center.

The Center Square Staff: Nearly all House Democrats oppose resolution condemning attacks on churches, pro-life facilities

The vote came after a report was published showing violence escalated against churches and pro-life groups last year ahead of and after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. […]  The House passed the measure 222 to 219 Wednesday mostly along party lines. Three Democrats voted for it: Reps. Vicente Gonzalez of south Texas, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington. The resolution “condemns recent attacks of vandalism, violence, and destruction against pro-life facilities, groups and churches” and “calls upon the Biden Administration to use all appropriate law enforcement authorities to uphold public safety and to protect the rights of pro-life facilities, groups, and churches.”

Phillips: Court of Appeals Agrees to Expedite Kari Lake’s 2022 Election Case

In a brief order, issued on Jan. 9 and made public the next day, the court ordered a reset of “the matter for conference on February 1, 2023,”  and agreed with Lake’s arguments that her challenge should be handled as a “special action petition.” The court date was reportedly scheduled for March.

Lawyers for Democrat Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, the state’s former secretary of state, has until Jan. 17 to respond and argue why Lake’s challenge should be rejected, according to the order. Lake had petitioned both the state’s Appeals Court and Supreme Court after a Maricopa County judge rejected her case after a two-day trial in December.

Murdock: Federal Government Proposes Greater Role In Local News

In a report released last week, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) proposed issuing public policy to help local journalism and combat misinformation. The GAO reported that local news’ lack of economic viability was the problem causing over 2,000 local newspapers to close since the early 2000s.

“[T]he market may not produce public interest content sufficient for a well-informed society,” stated the GAO. “Experts conveyed that the main goal of journalism is to have a well-informed society, and policies that aim to support this goal need to be innovation-friendly, forward-looking, and inclusive.”

[…]  The GAO admitted that no universal definition of “public interest journalism” exists. However, they stated that they define “public interest journalism” as that which covers issues of “public significance to engage citizens and inform democratic decision-making,” which includes investigations on “civically important topics.”  {Note: A written comment by dregs following the article: In other words, we’re going to find low-information communities and flood them with propaganda to make sure we can always count on their vote, weaponize them, etc. ]

Bleyer, M.D.: A Reminder to Doctors about the Meaning of Life

After COVID politics, under which the physician’s first obligation to provide the best care for his patient has frequently been ignored (e.g., mandated vaccines for patients with immunity), millions of Americans were again reminded what real medicine looks like, as a medical team revived Damar.  Illustrative of a true doctor-patient relationship, the focus was solely on Damar’s health.  There were no legal consent forms, no administrators detailing which procedures could be billed, no food from a salesman pushing the “best drug” for a patient in cardiac arrest, and no complex codes required prior to chest compressions. […] It is vital to clarify that America’s current, tremendous distrust of the medical profession, although greatly amplified by the COVID pandemic, did not begin with COVID.  Its genesis was in the 1970s with the American medical community’s decision that, given sufficient payment, we would deny the existence of our ethical obligation to establish a doctor-patient relationship with certain “lesser value” unborn children.  In so doing, the sanctity of the bedrock doctor-patient relationship was put up for sale, and the art of medicine became a business.  In this new Wild West type of medicine, those entities that promised to bring the most money into the relationship were heartily invited.  Government intrusion and mandates, complicated insurance plans and bizarre coding, pharmaceutical propaganda, unscrupulous lawyers, administrators focused on profit, and expensive computer systems have all joined the doctor and patient, generating a large group relationship with each entity, adding cost and providing unnecessary barriers to patient care. So many entities are currently mandated in the relationship with patients that the joy of medicine has become the drudgery of working for a large, costly bureaucracy. Care of patients has thus been degraded, and the ability of individual doctors to re-establish the proper doctor-patient relationship has become nearly impossible.

(mRNA in our food supply) Malone: mRNA Vaccines in Livestock and Companion Animals are here now.

Before we can discus mRNA vaccines for livestock, pets and wildlife, we must first address the elephant in the room. That is, how come the public is able to access human clinical trial information, but is not able to do the same for clinical trials involving animal health? […]  In today’s substack, the state of mRNA “vaccines” for animal “health” is discussed.  Citing public sources, I will review what is known and not known about commercial liaisons and partnerships, the corporations involved, ongoing research and products in various states of development. […]  Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News.  May 10, 2016

Bayer will partner with BioNTech to develop novel, first-in-class mRNA vaccines and therapeutics for animal health indications, the companies said today, under a collaboration whose value was not disclosed. Bayer agreed to secure exclusive rights to BioNTech’s mRNA technology and intellectual property for development of mRNA vaccines for animal health applications… […] This pioneering system is rapidly adaptable to new disease challenges and was instrumental in producing the first conditionally licensed vaccine to help control Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv), a deadly virus that has killed more than eight million piglets since suddenly emerging in the U.S. in 2013. Read that last paragraph again. Slowly. Sometime before 2015, the USDA issued a conditional license for a mRNA vaccine for use in pigs for Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv), . . .  Basically something akin to an emergency use authorization was issued around 2014 or 2015. Just like with the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, full licensure was not granted but the conditional license remains in place. Is this a strategy to circumvent the USDA vaccine licensing and/or authorization process? [NOTE: We are to receive the alleged “benefit” of a mRNA jab like it or not.]

Contreras: The next critical race theory fights

Supporters of teaching about race and diversity in schools appear to be better prepared this year to fight the expanding conservative broadside on critical race theory. The big picture: The battle against critical race theory, often conflated with teachings on systemic racism, is not letting up in public schools across the country. Now librarians, academics and other CRT supporters are organizing protests and running for office. Why it matters: The graduate college-level framework, rarely taught in grade school, was a lightning rod issue in the 2022 midterms and helped launch a new slate of conservative school board candidates.

Hammer: Penn State professor tells straight students in his sociology class to ‘watch gay porn’ because ‘we are all at some level nonbinary and very easily bisexual’

The awkward exchange came during a discussion billed on Richards’ syllabus as ‘A Conversation on Trans Issues, TERFS, and The Binary.’ Footage of the lesson – which was recorded live and posted to Richards’ YouTube channel – has since stirred up sentiments of outrage from onlookers online. The stream has since been made private. The school, meanwhile, is standing by its staffer’s statements, telling DailyMail.com Thursday that ‘academic freedom for faculty’ is necessary to achieve ‘critical thinking and discussion’ within its student body.

Bhole: Fired Hamline University professor who showed artwork of Prophet Muhammad breaks silence and hires lawyer to ‘explore legal options’ – as Muslim student doubles down on claim she was ‘blindsided’

Professor Erika Lopez Prater, 42, was fired by the Hamline University after students complained following an online class about Islamic art in October in which she displayed a 14th-century depiction of the angel Gabriel delivering the Prophet’s first revelation. The 42-year-old said she had given advance notice in the course syllabus, as well as a trigger warning during the class, before showing the image and no students had contacted her to raise concerns – adding that she ‘didn’t mean to offend anyone.’ But later, Aram Wedatalla, 23, head of Hamline’s Muslim Student Association, claimed the image had ‘blindsided’ her – resulting in school officials deciding not to renew Lopez Prater’s contract.

(As goes California, so goes the country) Democrats Are Looting Taxpayers With Their New “Reparations” Bill… Will the GOP Grow a Spine and Stop Them?

The most important government body in America right now isn’t Congress. It’s not the January 6 Committee. It might not even be the Supreme Court. In terms of shaping the future of America, and the fate of its people, the most important body in the country is a little-noticed group dubbed the “Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans, with a Special Consideration for African Americans Who are Descendants of Persons Enslaved in the United States.” For people who aren’t nominative masochists, it is better known as the California Reparations Task Force. And this task force is dreaming big. California might seem like an odd place to start looking for race-based reparations. California was a free state from the moment that it entered the Union in 1850. It desegregated schools years before Brown v. Board and it repealed Jim Crow laws well before many other states. Nevertheless, a state that never had slaves is moving as quickly as it can to take money from people who never owned slaves to give it away to people who never were slaves. And the price tag is going to be steep. […]  $475,000 for every black Californian! For those wondering, with 2.25 million black Californians, that’s a total of at least $1.069 trillion. And they haven’t finished tallying yet! The number is going to get higher! […]  Even Republicans, predictably, have let themselves be dragged as well, with nearly one-in-five now backing reparations.
