Editors of The Prickly Pear: Have courage. The election mess is a temporary event. It will only do lasting damage if you concede defeat in your own mind.
Angela Kelley contributor to American Greatness: Possibly the strongest belief I had going into last year and the one I was saddest to lose when I realized it simply wasn’t true anymore, was the belief that we were still a free country.
Lawrence L. Ludlow contributor to American Thinker: The “punishable” classifications of critical theory extend far beyond race and include “intersectional” categories such as biological sex, gender identity, sexual preference, overweight status, and other classifications that multiply like rabbits in a giant field of alfalfa without Mr. McGregor or his cat to thin them out. But one thing CRT theory never examines is the individual himself. The concept of the individual is replaced by group identity. Never mind that conceptual categories, or groups, do not suffer, bleed, undergo cancel culture and censorship, or die a painful death. They don’t even exist in the same way that individual human beings do.
Roger Kimball contributor to American Greatness: The metastasis of the preposterous ideology of wokeness from academia into the corporate world is alarming. Do we really need to be lectured by Coca-Cola about the evils of “whiteness”? Or Gillette about “toxic masculinity”? But the sudden spread of wokeness from the corporate world to the military is more than alarming, it is an existential threat.
Steve Feinstein contributor to American Thinker: The military’s combat forces are simply not a vehicle for implementing social change or misguided equity policies. Your local DMV is the perfect situation for that; the 101st Airborne is not.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R- WI) speaking on the conservative Joe Pags show: Because I didn’t. Mainly because I knew, even though those thousands of people that were marching to the Capitol were trying to pressure people like me to vote the way they wanted me to vote, I knew those were people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break a law, and so I wasn’t concerned. Now, had the tables been turned and President Trump won the election, and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and Antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned.
Marco Rubio (R-FL) weighs in on the Amazon-Union dispute: Here’s my standard: When the conflict is between working Americans and a company whose leadership has decided to wage culture war against working-class values, the choice is easy — I support the workers. And that’s why I stand with those at Amazon’s Bessemer warehouse today.
Scott Greer contributor to Revolver responded to Senator Marcs Rubio: Unions aren’t the way to do it. It’s stupid for the Right to ally with an equally pernicious institution in the hope it miraculously switches sides and blocks woke capitalism. That’s just as likely as Nancy Pelosi suddenly embracing nationalism.
Daniel Ross Goodman contributor to The Imaginative Conservative: To believe that a certain athlete, musician, artist, political leader, or writer is not just “great” but “the greatest of all time” is to give undue weight to our time and to our own experience. It also unnecessarily forecloses our imaginative horizons that something or someone can indeed come along and surpass what we may be witnessing now.
Linda R. Killian contributor to American Thinker: Let’s stop and ask a basic question: how is the obsession with race good for the education of children or their future participation as adults in a pluralistic society in a competitive world?
Derek Hunter contributor to TownHall: Of course, how someone “identifies” is irrelevant, in the grand scheme of things. I don’t care how someone chooses to live. I care that Democrats are using the power of government to force others to participate in someone else’s view of the world that is the opposite of reality. Reality is not dependent upon your belief in it, or your willingness to accept it. It just is.

Court: Trump tells cheering crowd daughter-in-law Lara IS running for the Senate during surprise appearance at Mar-a-Lago fundraiser for charity rescuing dogs from China
Donald Trump has used a surprise appearance at a Mar-a-Largo dog rescue fundraiser to proclaim that his daughter-in-law Lara Trump will run for senate. The former president delighted attendees at the event – held Friday night for Big Dog Ranch Rescue – as he took to the stage for an impromptu speech, which was shared to Twitter by journalist T.A. Walker. ‘I didn’t exactly prepare for this, but I was walking by, and I heard everyone screaming,’ Trump was seen telling the crowd as they broke into rapturous applause. He then acknowledged the presence of his daughter-in-law, who helped put together the event. […] Lauree Simmons, president and founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, hosted the event in the hopes of raising $500,000 to help bring 500 dogs from China to the United States. [NOTE: Dog meat is a source of food in China. It’s even sold canned.]

The Prickly Pear Editors: Learning From Failure – Get in the Fight Now!
It has often been said that you learn more from failure than from success. We don’t doubt the wisdom in that observation. So, if it is true, we need to look at the state of American Conservatism today. This is the movement that supports the Constitution, the ideas of limited government, personal liberty, personal responsibility, free markets and the Judeo-Christian ethic. Conservatives over the years have created an impressive array of think tanks, publications, and books. We have had some success at politics. But even as we have succeeded politically on occasion, the broader battle for the soul of the nation has gone against us. We have failed. It is not a partial failure either. It has been a rout across a broad swath of institutions and public attitudes. Only in the recognition of that failure is it possible to move forward. Part of the reason Trump could come out of nowhere to defeat multiple primary opponents and the Clinton machine was that people were frustrated with the current Conservative leadership. That leadership had failed us. It is a time for a realistic assessment of where we are in this ideological battle.

Gorman: “DC vs America”
History is repeating… including recent history. But so many of my fellow Trump Supporters didn’t start paying attention to American political landscape until 2016—so they think this is new. It’s not. In addition to the parallels to the tyranny of 1776— you need only look back to 2008-2010 to see near identical tactics and narratives (voter fraud, racism everywhere, open borders, pandemic planning, government over-reach)… not only by the left… but more importantly the duplicitous GOP. The only difference—is the left is louder and more aggressive, the destructive issues are the same. And let us not forget… for over 12 years now, the GOP has rejected & resisted our pleas to represent our Christian conservative values and interests. But those are not the interests of the . .

Baldwin: It’s time for Red States to start nullifying federal law
A proposal to challenge this attack on our rights Our Founders, however, were extremely wary of federal power and thus created a number of checks and balances to counter it. One of them was the ability by the states to “nullify” federal laws and even Supreme Court decisions. As most conservatives know, nullification is when a State decides to not abide by a federal law, regulation or even a Federal court ruling by simply refusing to enforce it. This concept is rooted in the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, which plainly states that if the states, who are the creators of the federal government, have not specifically given them authority, that authority rests with the states and the people of the state: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Over the last 150 years or so, liberal legislators and judges have violated the Tenth Amendment by illegally expanding the scope and power of the federal government. We know that Federal power is limited because such powers were actually “enumerated” or listed in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution and include actions such as “To lay and collect taxes,” “coin money,” and “raise and support Armies.” The federal government was not given any role in education, health, welfare, transportation, energy, or even with maintaining secure borders. All those issues were left up to the states to decide. If our founders wanted to expand the federal government into every area of our life, they would not have specifically listed the very few powers they granted it. Conservative constitutional scholars such as Thomas West, . . . […] The left will scream about such nullification efforts, but they have been engaged in nullifying federal laws for years. For example, . . .
[…] It is time our side use this tactic as a way of protecting our constitutional rights. Here are some of the issues that could be affected by the concept of nullification: 1. Nullify all 1st Amendment Restrictions. States should refuse to enforce all federal edicts and Supreme Court rulings that impinge upon the 1st Amendment protections of our religious freedom, such as efforts by radical gays to force churches, faith based adopting agencies, religious schools, colleges, and businesses to carry out a radical gay and transexual agenda. 2. Nullify all federal efforts to undermine the 2nd Amendment. States should nullify all federal laws that compromise the 2nd Amendment such as those being proposed by the Biden team. 3. . . . 4. . . . 5. . . .

Feld: GOP Rep. Burgess Owens blasts Democrats’ push for ‘racist’ gun control laws
Former NFL star Burgess Owens, who is now serving as a U.S. representative from Utah, took to the House floor this week to rip two gun control measures being pushed by the Democratic majority. […] H.R. 8 will expand universal background check requirements to include . . . H.R. 1446 will extend the time the FBI has to perform an “instant” background check from three business days to . . . Rep. Owens had a big problem with both of these bills — and he noted that this kind of gun control was often used to keep blacks in check. In a floor speech Wednesday, Owens cited concerns his constituents expressed that the bills will “make it impossible to sell or loan guns” to relatives or trusted friends and will “impose restrictions on natural rights.” […] Then the former defensive back explained why Americans — especially minorities — should not allow the government to curb their Second Amendment rights: It was the government that kept blacks down with discriminatory laws, including gun proscription. […] And then he got personal, sharing the story of how important guns were in his family to protect against attacks from whites in the South: . . . […] Unfortunately, Owens’ words fell on deaf congressional ears. The Democratic House majority passed both measures Wednesday evening.

Saavedra: Biden Admin Faces Backlash After Military Attacks Tucker Carlson: ‘China’s Military Is Laughing’
The Biden administration faced intense backlash late this week after military officials used official government resources to launch political attacks against Fox News host Tucker Carlson in response to Carlson calling out highly controversial moves that the Biden administration is making in the military.
Attacks made by U.S. Military, under Biden’s leadership, against a U.S. citizen include: . . . There was intense backlash online against the Biden administration after the U.S. Military used its resources to attack a private citizen who called into question the military’s readiness and combat effectiveness.
Human Events Managing Editor Ian Miles Cheong wrote: “China’s military is laughing at the US Marines for getting triggered by a TV host and ignoring their military buildup in the Pacific.”

(3/11/21) Buchanan: Is a Cold War II with China Inevitable?
Today, the four premier leaders of The Quad—the U.S., Australia, India, and Japan—conduct their first summit, by teleconference. The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is an informal strategy forum of the major Indo-Pacific democracies that some wish to see evolve into an Asian NATO to contain China, as NATO contained the Soviet Union for 40 years of Cold War. Next week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan meet their Chinese counterparts midway between Beijing and Washington—in Anchorage, Alaska. The Chinese are said to have sought out the two-day meeting since before the inauguration of Biden. And understandably so. For while the Chinese are hoping for a reset of relations after a troubled last year with the Trump administration, leaders of both U.S. parties—to compensate for decades of congressional indulgence of Beijing—suddenly seem to be on their muscle.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA
McCarthy: Why is Biden releasing thousands of Covid-positive migrants into the country?
The answer to that question may be in his absurd speech on Thursday when he said “we may have to reinstate the lockdown restrictions” if… If what? What if the migrants the Biden Administration is allowing to come across the southern border without being tested, even if showing symptoms, then given bus tickets to any American city they hope to reach, is a grand plan to spread this flu throughout the country again in order to reinstate all the unconstitutional restrictions to which millions of Americans willingly submitted? Chances are that the powers that be never dreamed so many people would give up their freedom to work, shop, eat, go to movies, vacation, have their kids in school, etc. without a fuss… but they did. The carefully calculated, thoroughly propagandistic fearmongering the media has done over the past year in service of the left was embarrassingly effective. Too many Americans have lost the ability to question authority and have accepted the covid “mandates” as if we are all subjects of a benevolent oligarchy. Nothing could be further from the truth. This past year has been about several things: . . . […] China, the “man behind the curtain” of all of this, is laughing its way to global domination with the obedient acquiescence of the Biden administration and his party that is clearly willing to sell out the United States for their own personal financial gain.

Root: Has Joe Biden Sold America Out to the Mexican Drug Cartels?
I told you so. It’s become crystal clear I was right on the money. I’ve said for two years now on my national radio show that the best thing that could ever happen for the Mexican drug cartels would be a Democratic presidential victory. Mexican drug kingpins have waited their entire lives for this fantasy. They must be singing, dancing and toasting champagne right now, because President Joe Biden is the greatest gift ever bestowed upon the Mexican cartels. Experts estimated the money made on drug trafficking by the cartels at around $500 billion a year. That’s half a trillion dollars a year — “trillion” with a T. […]
There’s a lot of money on the line here. How much did Trump’s strict border policies cost the Mexican drug cartels? Tens of billions? Hundreds of billions? By comparison, how much extra money will Joe Biden and the Democratic Congress’s open-borders policies earn the Mexican drug cartels? This is like Christmas morning for organized crime. […] Now I ask you — use your common sense: Why is this happening? Why would any sane president or political party want to encourage an invasion that will overwhelm our country and risk disease and death — let alone in the middle of a pandemic? This is insanity.

JUST SAY IT: THE LEFT IS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY – THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IS THE LEFT
Skurkiss: Destruction is the left’s defining characteristic
Most Americans still do not accept who these leftists are and what their objective is. This ignorance is fatal since knowing your enemy is half the battle. Step one of enlightenment is to identify the defining characteristic of these Marxists. Some say it’s lying or perhaps hate, violence, or the lust for power. All of those are indeed true, but they are not the defining characteristic. That honor belongs to destruction, from which the other left-wing pathologies flow. It stems from a deep psychological impulse. The Marxists have long abandoned the idea of a transcendent God. As such, they seek to build a Heaven on Earth through human efforts and reasoning. Leftists see themselves as standing for the future. This is what Marxian philosophy calls the end of history. The problem the leftists face is that tradition, nationalism, and the moral order are insurmountable roadblocks. The Marxists believe that these matters cannot be sufficiently reformed to accomplish their ends. From this springs the left’s need — actually, its compulsion — to destroy. The idea is that only from the ashes of what now exists can a new foundation can laid for a properly structured society. The left damages everything it touches. Marxists have wrought havoc . . .

DEMOCRAT PLAYBOOK: MARXIST CRITICAL RACE THEORY= IDENTITY POLITICS
McCotter: It’s ‘Communist’ Not ‘Critical Race Theory,’ Folks
It is hard to believe, but Joe Biden may not even be America’s most accomplished plagiarist. The “antiracist” radicals can stake a claim, given their own renown and remuneration and their ruination of others. By plagiarizing the tenets of communist China’s Cultural Revolution, the anti-racist grifters have turned white progressives’ self-loathing masochism into a veritable pinata of perks, power, profit, and tenured sinecures in the bowels of academia and corporations. Consider this excerpt from the 1966 People’s Daily op-ed by Chen Boda, “Sweep Away All Monsters and Demons” that kicked off the carnage of Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution: The proletarian cultural revolution is aimed not only at demolishing all the old ideology and culture and all the old customs and habits, which, fostered by the exploiting classes, have poisoned the minds of the people for thousands of years, but also at creating and fostering among the masses an entirely new ideology and culture and entirely new customs and habits — those of the proletariat. This great task of transforming . . . Sound familiar? Perhaps, the following will clarify matters: The WOKE revolution is aimed not only at demolishing SYSTEMIC RACISM and IMPLICIT BIASES, which, fostered by the WHITE SUPREMACISTS, have poisoned the minds of the people SINCE 1619, but also at creating and fostering among the masses an entirely new ANTIRACISM and EQUITY—those of the ANTIRACISTS. This great task of transforming . . .

Chalberg: “The Madness of Crowds”: How Identity Politics Has Replaced Religion
Into the breach—or onto the deserted ground—has marched a new metaphysics in the form of a new religion. In “The Madness of Crowds,” Douglas Murray explains this “religion” of identity politics. A better title for this book might have been “deserted ground.” The term, in fact, is author Douglas Murray’s own, and the reference is to the postmodern era in which we now live. And the ground in question? Mr. Murray is not referring to territory lost, squandered, or abandoned. Rather, he is zeroing in on past explanations for our existence on this earth. As Mr. Murray sizes things up, religious explanations have been “falling away from the nineteenth century onwards.” And in the last century secular political ideologies have followed “in religion’s wake.” What to do—and think—now? Mr. Murray puts the problem this way: “People in wealthy western democracies could not simply remain the first people in recorded history to have absolutely no explanation for what we are doing here,” not to mention “no story to give life purpose.” Into the breach—or onto the deserted ground—has marched a new metaphysics in the form of a new religion. That would be the “religion” of identity politics.

Garcia: Editor of prestigious medical journal fired for denying that structural racism exists in medicine
Activists called for a boycott against the Journal of the American Medical Association after Deputy Editor for Clinical Reviews and Education Edward H. Livingston, MD said that no physician was racist. “Structural racism is an unfortunate term,” said Livingston on the podcast. “Personally, I think taking racism out of the conversation will help. Many of us are offended by the concept that we are racist.” Editor-in-chief Howard Bauchner, MD, later apologized for the podcast and said that he had asked for and received Livingston’s resignation. Bauchner said the comments made on the podcast did not reflect the values of the American Medical Association.
