We seem to be facing so much that is false and deceptive, and increasingly good is said to be evil, and evil is said to be good. But now Biden 2.0 has blasted Putin as a killer, someone equivalent to the domestic semi-fascists he blasted in his Phantom of the Opera hate speech. Much of the western world was already engaged in war in December 1941 when the United States joined the fight. Most of Europe and much of North Africa were under the boot of the Nazis. Meanwhile, the Japanese continued their control over Korea and had already invaded French Indochina (today’s Vietnam) and large parts of China. German U Boats were prowling the seas sinking ships around the world from belligerents and non-belligerents alike. There was a world war going on; we just weren’t active, frontline participants before Pearl Harbor. However one looks at that period, the world as we know it was under a fierce attack that eventually would have enveloped the rest of the world, including the United States. In February 2022 none of that was true. […] When Russia invaded Ukraine in February, the world was not on the brink of anything resembling a world war.

The Merger Filing Fee Modernization Act of 2022, introduced by Democratic Colorado Rep. Joe Neguse, passed the House 242-184. The legislation would increase the fees companies pay to the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, raising those agencies $1.4 billion over the next five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office. “The package before us today does nothing but empower the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. Why would we support more funding for unaccountable officials in the Biden administration, particularly these two agencies, Department of Justice, in light what have we’ve seen from them over the past several months?” Jordan asked in a floor speech.

A new documentary is giving Texas parents a shocking look at what’s being taught in their kids’ schools: sexually explicit materials “so heinous that they are illegal everywhere else except in the classroom.”
“The Mind Polluters,” premiering this week in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, exposes deliberate efforts by schools to normalize sexual behavior of every kind, using materials and methods the filmmakers say are intentionally “grooming” children to engage in risky sex and setting kids up for abuse.
“They want to sexualize kids,” said Monica Cline, one of the Texas-based activists featured in the documentary. The film documents the origins and damaging effects of graphic Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) and brain-rewiring Social Emotional Learning (SEL) being pushed through the education system on children as young as pre-school age in Texas and across the country.

Hanford: If Schools Teach Masturbation Poems Under Youngkin Crackdown, What Are They Doing In Other States?
A high school teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia, recently read aloud to her 10th-grade English class the poem “Fingers,” an explicit account of a young girl masturbating. The poem was excerpted from “The Poet X,” a provocative coming-of-age novel by Elizabeth Acevedo assigned to sophomores at Madison High School in Vienna. Despite last spring’s passage of a law requiring advance notification of explicit sexual content, parents were provided no notice of either the read-aloud or the sexual content of the book (other than a general disclaimer of possible mature content at the end of a syllabus listing the titles only).
This incident highlights the growing sexualization of kids in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), an effort long led by the school board and permeating both curriculum and recently passed transgender policies. The trend has been countered by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s law on parental notification of explicit materials, and, most dramatically, by his new transgender policy requiring parental consent for gender-bending in schools. But fierce opposition is mounting in Virginia’s largest school system, and the battle lines are drawing national attention.

Brazil’s top two presidential candidates will face each other in a runoff vote after neither got enough support to win outright Sunday in an election to decide if the country returns a leftist to the helm of the world’s fourth-largest democracy or keeps the far-right incumbent in office. With 99.9% of the votes tallied, former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva had 48.4% support and President Jair Bolsonaro had 43.2%. Nine other candidates were also competing, but their support pales to that for Bolsonaro and da Silva, who is commonly known as Lula.
