Steinbuch: Supreme Court drops Trump’s ‘sanctuary city’ cases after Biden request
The US Supreme Court has dismissed three pending appeals on former President Donald Trump’s effort to withhold law enforcement grants from states and cities that refused to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, according to reports. The high court acted shortly after the Biden administration, as well as state and city governments in New York and California, jointly asked it to dismiss the appeals, Fox News reported. Attorneys for jurisdictions challenging the order in the three cases — which involve the Big Apple and San Francisco — said they agreed with the new administration that the cases should be dismissed.

China is and has been at war with the US. This war is as intentional as and more damaging than Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor. While no bombs have dropped and no rounds have been fired, nothing can camouflage China’s decades-long war on the U.S. In 1998, China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) published Unrestrictive Warfare. Its main premise, after they studied the intricacy of Operation Desert Storm, was that no country could financially or technology-wise compete with or be victorious against the U.S. in a traditional force-on-force war. Unrestrictive Warfare asserts for a country (like China) to defeat the US, future wars would be based on nonviolent methods via financial influence, political bribery, industrial espionage, theft of intellectual property, and other non-traditional means. The new administration’s reversal of all actions by President Trump indicates that the new administration may not be aware of the danger. A major question needs to be asked: is the Biden administration defending the U.S. against the actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)? […] As for the president? Pollak: Three Trump Foreign Policy Successes Biden Is Undoing
President Joe Biden is undoing several foreign policy successes of the Trump administration for no apparent reason other than radical ideology and political spite. In each case, former President Donald Trump was able to achieve goals that both parties had long claimed to share. And in each case, Biden has not only hurt the interests of the United States, but reduced the leverage that he might otherwise have had to pursue foreign policy goals unique to his administration. Three examples: Border policy: President Trump signed agreements with Central American countries that slowed the flow of migrants. In June 2019, he announced a deal with Mexico under which it would deploy troops to its southern border and allow asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while their cases were adjudicated in the U.S. That fall, he reached deals with the “Northern Triangle” countries to keep asylum-seekers home. There is no reason for Biden to have dismantled these humane policies, which kept vulnerable migrants out of the hands of cartels and deterred thousands from undertaking a risky journey (and sending their children to do the same). He could have kept them in place even while changing U.S. immigration policies. Consequently, there has been a massive surge of migrants to the border — especially unaccompanied minors — and there undoubtedly will be more. VDH: Hitting Woke Herd Immunity?
Two recent polls suggest wokism is beginning to recede on a variety of fronts, from less trust in Black Lives Matter and more confidence in the police, to suspicion that the Capitol “insurrection” account is being used to unfairly suppress political expression while Antifa, increasingly, is seen as a terrorist organization whose violence has been ignored improperly by authorities. There are tens of millions of Americans who either have been stung, or turned off, by McCarthyite wokeness (and thus have anti-wokeness antibodies). More have been vaccinated from its latest virulent strains by their own values of judging people as individuals, not as racial or gender collectives. So lots of Americans have developed peremptory defenses against it. The result is that daily there are ever-fewer who are susceptible to the woke pandemic. And it will thus begin to fade out—even as the virus desperately seeks to mutate and go after more institutions. Peak wokeness is nearing also because if it continued in its present incarnation, then the United States as we know would cease to exist—in the sense that 1692-93 Salem or 1793-94 Paris could not have continued apace without destroying society. Woke leftism exists to destroy and tear down, not to unite and build. It is not designed to play down and heal racial differences, but to accentuate and capitalize on them.
