NOTABLE QUOTES

Cernovich tweet: You will eat bugs, you will live in a pod, you will own nothing. That is the future they have for you.

Jared A. Brock’s substack: But do you know what I don’t like? When the richest sociopaths in human history engineer a global economy that forces the masses to eat bugs.

John Hirschauer  The American Conservative: There are other reasons the Times might want to move away from traditional agriculture. The bug-farmers shown in the video—soft-faced, vest-wearing men with college degrees and uncalloused hands—look like compliant Democratic voters. The average cattle rancher can’t explain the difference between “gender” and “sex.” The “insect farms” shown in the video—large, Bauhausian buildings in the heart of urban metros—are seated in progressive territory rather than the hidebound American hinterlands. Making you “eat the bugs,” as the meme would have it, also satisfies the liturgical dimension of liberalism—the shattering of long-held taboos and prejudices.

Mitch Kokai is the senior political analyst for the John Locke Foundation: Aside from a few adventurous eaters among the West’s ruling class, we don’t expect bugs and weeds to become part of our moral superiors’ daily provisions. They will continue to eat beef, pork, fish, and, yes, cake. These are the elitists who fly the world in private jets while insisting the rest of us stay home to minimize our carbon footprints.

John Hayward is the national security deputy editor of Breitbart News: A group of scientists called the Malabo Montpellier Panel published a report in May that encouraged Africa to develop a “sustainable bio-economy” through such innovative techniques as making muffins and meatloaf out of flies.

Greg Gutfeld Fox television host: But what really sucks, and the whole point is this — is that they ignore the main reason that humans eat bugs. It’s because they’re poor and they don’t have access to better food. So instead, these fools try to make poverty seem like fun. I mean, do you think an African child would eat a plate of mealworms if they could have a bowl of pesto instead of pests?

GREAT GLOBAL RESET

(From 6/2018) World Economic Forum: Good grub: why we might be eating insects soon

So, what’s behind this anticipated increase in appetite for creepy-crawlies? There are a number of factors in play and the answer is wrapped up in an understanding of how insects compare with the production and farming of other food types. Per kilo of live weight, bugs emit less harmful gas than more mainstream farm animals. A cow, for example, produces 2.8 kg of greenhouse gas per kilo of live body weight. Insects, on the other hand, produce just 2 grams. They also consume fewer resources than traditional livestock. For each kilo it weighs, a cow needs 10 kg of feed. Bugs on the other hand need just 1.7 kg. Water, which is becoming an increasingly scarce resource in some parts of the world – and which is used liberally in intensive farming – offers another interesting comparison. To produce a single gram of insect protein, you’d need 23 litres of water. That might sound like a lot. But to get that same gram of protein from cattle, you’d need 112 litres of water. From the farmer’s point of view, raising insects is going to be radically different from raising sheep, pigs, or cattle. No more coping with mud, muck and filth. An end to shifting heavy sacks of feed. And forget about having to go outdoors in all weather to manhandle livestock. The requirement for investment in equipment will be different too. This will be farming on a much smaller scale, reducing the need for large and expensive machinery. It may not be too long before we can all buy a bag of edible insects at our local grocery store.

BIDEN’S STASI

Tucker Carlson and Harmeet Dhillon Discuss Facebook Suppression of Hunter Biden Laptop Story

During a segment on his broadcast this evening, Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed Center for American Liberty founder and lawyer, Harmeet Dhillon about how Facebook censored and supressed he Hunter Biden laptop story just before the 2020 election.

Laad: Don’t allow Mark Zuckerberg to reinvent history

Just yesterday Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted that Facebook suppressed the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s laptop following a warning from the FBI about ‘misinformation.’ Zuckerberg appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast when he was asked about Facebook’s approach to the Hunter Biden report from October 2020. Zuckerberg responded as follows: . . . […]  Now that the election is over and permanent damage is already done, two of the foremost Democrat mouthpieces the New York Times and Washington Post are attempting to salvage their reputation by admitting the laptop story was authentic.

Zuckerberg seems to be doing the same. He is attempting to reinvent history, place the blame on the FBI and characterize himself and Facebook as reluctant and unwilling participants. […] Zuckerberg is a staunch partisan who both personally and through Facebook interfered with the 2020 presidential elections to facilitate victory for Biden.

(From 12/21) Orlowski: Let them eat bugs

So what’s behind the war on meat? The apparent justification is the political elite’s great preoccupation of our time – climate change. We’re told that rearing livestock for meat is bad for the environment, and that cows are the worst offenders of all. That’s the assumption behind hit YouTube videos like Mark Rober’s ‘Feeding Bill Gates a fake burger (to save the world)’, a promotional video for Gates’ synthetic-meat investments, which has racked up nearly 46million views. But the environmental argument doesn’t look so robust on closer examination. Agricultural CO2 emissions are small – so small that if the United States turned entirely vegan this decade, it would lower US emissions by just 2.6 per cent. In reality, a cow is a highly efficient protein-conversion system, turning protein that we can’t eat into protein that we love to eat. Three quarters of livestock, on balance, improve the environment, enhancing the yield of the land through fertiliser, which would otherwise need to be made synthetically. For example, one of the crimes regularly levelled against beef is water consumption. But the cow loses most of this water the same day – it’s returned to nature. So with environmental claims so weak, there must be some other rationale for the war on meat. Much of today’s war on meat appears to be driven by venture capitalists, and their client journalists in the media.

Swier: Let Them Eat Bugs

I’ve said many times the keepers of the phony climate change narrative want you to be poor and, today, I’m going to prove it. First, they want you to stop eating meat and start eating bugs.  Nicole Kidman and Robert Downey, Jr. are among the celebrities telling you to make the switch.  A big marketing, branding, and image campaign is underway to get you to eat bugs.  PBS is part of the effort, with programming designed to convince you insects are tasty and eating them will fight climate change.  One company’s pitch is that caterpillars are a healthier option than steak.  You might want to check your food labels, because it’s already happening.  Hope you’re not allergic. […]  It’s no accident the campaign to get you to eat bugs has begun at the same time a war on agriculture has started in several countries. […] . . . look for the war on agriculture to continue.  The UN told the truth in its magazine in 2008: it wants you to be hungry.  “Hunger has great positive value to many people. Indeed, it is fundamental to the working of the world’s economy. Hungry people are the most productive people..,” the article said.  Eat bugs and be happy.  The UN pulled the article off its website last month, claiming it was satire.  Sure. It’s not only food. The curtain has finally been pulled back on the climate authoritarians’ true plans for the automobile.  Forget EVs.  It’s better you have . . .

GOP

Mother Jones: The Most Powerful Moms in America Are the New Face of the Republican Party

Their crusade against public education is just the beginning.  […] “Parents’ rights” is Moms for Liberty’s rallying cry. But they don’t mean every right. They’re decidedly unconcerned about a parent’s right to ensure that their gender nonconforming child is safe at school, for instance, or that their immunocompromised child is protected from Covid. Rather, the Moms who are for Liberty have mobilized around parental concerns that are decidedly conservative. They want to excise lessons on systemic racism, LGBTQ-friendly books, accommodations for transgender students, and Covid mitigations like vaccine and mask mandates. They want to defend the Second Amendment rights that have allowed school shooters to obtain weapons. They work toward these goals with an unflagging spirit of good cheer—hence the “joyful warriors” conference theme. “People want to be around joyful people,” one presenter said. “They don’t necessarily want to be around angry, screaming, yelling people, or it’s not going to grow.” […]  The speed and effectiveness of Moms for Liberty’s political force have astounded pundits and those who’ve tangled with it alike. […]  What’s different about the Moms for Liberty—and the other parental rights groups that have sprung up over the past two years—is their leveraging of local school boards to flex political power. […]  If you do choose to send your children to public school, the Moms for Liberty recommend that you approach your child’s government-sponsored education with unyielding vigilance. Should parents let down their guard even for a moment, they warn, scheming progressives can subtly inject their values into the curriculum.

War Room: ‘They want to Kill me’: MTG Discusses Swatting Attempt by Transchild Activist Enraged by Legislation

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene talks to host Steve Bannon about an incident the night before where her home was targeted by a trans activist, who called police to report that someone had been shot at Greene’s home, forcing the local police to send out a fully-armed SWAT team to the address. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the person who took credit for the call clearly wanted Greene or her family to come to harm. {Note: the swatting happened a second time yesterday.}

COVID VACCINE MANDATES

Berenson: Another week with deaths far above normal in Europe

The strange and seemingly unending rise in all-cause deaths in the mRNA vaccinated countries continues. This morning, European researchers released their most recent weekly report on deaths across the continent: . . . […]  It’s not just Europe. The United States is also seeing higher-than-expected deaths, although our data are late and lagging and we have a terrible opioid epidemic further confusing the issue. Deaths in Australia have been running well above normal too. What’s behind all these deaths? There are possible reasons that don’t include a seven-letter word that starts with the letter v, but they are becoming less plausible as the trend goes on week after week. As bad as the deaths are, the reluctance by governments or public health authorities even to discuss them is worse.

PHYSICIAN, FIRST DO NO HARM

Mangold-Lenett: No, Killing People Is Not A Humane Solution For The West’s Epidemic Of Despair

News surfaced earlier this month about the Canadian health care system’s planned expansion of medically assisted suicide and the shockingly low bar required for administering such procedures.  Soon, Canadians will be able to request permanent release if they are suffering from something as commonplace as “mental health issues.” As medically assisted suicide becomes increasingly popular and easier to access, while rates of substance use, overdose, and depression also increase, people are turning to assisted suicide to escape their pain. Despair has increasingly come to characterize Western civilization, and more and more people are seeking release. The widespread insistence on escaping pain regardless of the consequences, instead of learning to live with it and thriving despite it, presents an existential crisis for the West. How can a civilization remain, let alone thrive, if it tacitly encourages people to opt out of life when faced with hardship?

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Mittlestadt & Ballasy: As feds ease COVID-19 rules, Biden cites pandemic ’emergency’ to cancel student debt

White House domestic policy adviser Susan Rice and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona claimed on Wednesday that the Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students Act (Heroes Act) gives President Biden the authority to implement his debt forgiveness plan without congressional action. […] Under the HEROES Act legislation, which became law in 2003, the Secretary of Education has “waiver authority to respond to a war or other military operation or national emergency.” The secretary “may waive or modify any statutory or regulatory provision applicable to the student financial assistance programs under title IV of the Act as the secretary deems necessary in connection with a war or other military operation or national emergency.”

Cadelago & Olander: Biden calls Trump’s philosophy ‘semi-fascism’

Exuberant over a string of recent legislative victories, and launching his midterm campaigning in earnest, President Joe Biden swaggered into Maryland on Thursday and excoriated his predecessor’s philosophy as “semi-fascism,” in what constituted an unusually pointed and highly charged denunciation of Republicans. “What we’re seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of extreme MAGA philosophy,” Biden told Democratic donors in the Washington suburb of Rockville. Calling out those he labeled as “extreme” Republicans, Biden said: “It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the — I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism.” {Note: Biden is projecting. He is accusing  President Trump of behavior that Biden and his party are engaged in – fascism.]

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON CHILDREN

Lifson: Chicago Public Schools website features appalling video justifying burning and looting

The Chicago Public Schools are doing a miserable job educating the children of that troubled city. At Matt Rosenberg of Wirepoints notes, the school system has every incentive to try to redirect anger over its failures onto society as a whole, specifically to white racism. It is via Wirepoints that I learned of the video embedded below and saw these basic statistics on the CPS’s abject failures: Rosenberg ably excerpts some of the most remarkable assertions of the video, but in order to fully grasp the level of hatred being expressed, it is worthwhile listening to the almost 7 minutes of the rant, in which the speaker, author Kimberly Jones, credits participating on Operation Push (Jesse Jackson’s old outfit) for her level of economic sophistication (such as it is).

Hendrickson: Columbus teachers strike on first day back to school

A strike by teachers in Ohio’s largest school district entered its third day Wednesday — the first day of school for some 47,000 students, with some of those students and their parents rallying to their sides. Parents, students, teachers and other employees gathered at schools across the Columbus School District with plans to picket for hours, advocating for safer buildings, better heating and air conditioning, smaller class sizes, and a more well-rounded curriculum that includes art, music and physical education. It’s the union’s first strike in the district since 1975. […]  The tens of thousands of students in the district are now starting the school year with remote education, made up of lesson plans and videos they can access through their schools without a teacher to guide them. It’s a start that has some parents concerned. Remote learning has contributed to students falling behind academically and to mental health and behavioral challenges.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S MARXIST PLAYBOOK: WOKE IDENTITY POLITICS

Brown: American Express slapped with lawsuit alleging discrimination against White employees

A former American Express employee filed a class-action complaint Tuesday alleging that the credit card company exhibited “callous indifference” to civil rights law by terminating him because he is White and spoke out against its “racially discriminatory” policies.

Brian Netzel, who worked a decade for Amex until he was terminated in 2020, told FOX Business that he sued the company on behalf of himself and potentially thousands of other similarly situated employees following “an avalanche of bad things coming to White people in that company once George Floyd was killed.” The lawsuit alleges that amid the racial tensions roiling the U.S. in 2020, Amex implemented “anti-racism” policies throughout its corporate structure that “gave preferential treatment to individuals for being Black and unambiguously signaled to White employees that their race was an impediment to getting ahead in the company.”

BOOK REVIEW

Goska: Promise Me You’ll Shoot Yourself: The Downfall of Ordinary Germans in 1945

Promise Me You’ll Shoot Yourself is one of the best books about Nazi Germany I’ve read. The author is 55-year-old Nuremberg native Florian Huber, who wrote his PhD on British policy regarding the postwar occupation of Germany. The book was first published in Germany in 2015. It became a bestseller. Penguin published an English translation in 2019. Huber’s writing is as crisp and gripping as prize-winning fiction. His style is a bit like Hemingway’s. The main text of the book is 267 pages, followed by 20 pages of notes. Promise Me is a quick read that covers an astounding amount of history. It opens with the mass suicides prompted by Nazi Germany’s defeat. It goes on to describe why so many Germans felt that suicide was the only possible response to that defeat. Promise Me is a giant red flag, warning anyone who dreams of Utopia, and the rapid social engineering demanded by Utopians, about the dangers of such a path.  […] Huber makes extensive use of vignettes from accounts by average people, including schoolteachers, housewives, shopkeepers, and children. For the most part, these are not frontline soldiers or party bigwigs. Rather, these folks are the “grass” that gets trampled, as in the African proverb, “When elephants fight, the grass gets trampled.” Huber’s approach rendered Promise Me an immersive read. […]  In addition to every other gift this book offers the reader, it offers this: a stark warning to social engineers. Time and again in human history, people, usually young people, have decided that the way things are is flawed, and complete transformation is necessary. Once the flaws are eliminated, humanity can enter a Utopia. Nazism, Communism, and Woke are all Utopian. I want to grab my well-meaning bourgeois lady friends who think that you can redefine something as basic as human sexuality in a few short years without creating any problems. I want them to read this book.

Sundance: Study, No Quantifiable Benefits from COVID Treatment Drug Paxlovid for People Aged 40 to 65

In April 2022, the Biden administration ordered 20 million doses of Pfizer’s antiviral Covid-19 treatment called Paxlovid. Now a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows the medication shows “no measurable benefit” for the treatment of COVID-19 in patients 40 to 65-years of age.

[…]  The results from a 109,000-patient Israeli study are likely to renew questions about the U.S. government’s use of Paxlovid, which has become the go-to treatment for COVID-19 due to its at-home convenience. The Biden administration has spent more than $10 billion purchasing the drug and making it available at thousands of pharmacies through its test-and-treat initiative.
