On the protection side, the American people might look back at September 11, 2001. In May of 2001, according to The 9/11 Commission Report: Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States, FBI counterterrorism boss Dale Watson had only two people looking at threats from Osama bin Laden. FBI assessments of the potential use of flight training by terrorists and warnings of “radical Middle Easterners attending flight school,” were not passed on to FAA headquarters. The FBI did not produce the kind of intelligence reports other agencies disseminated, and its usual practice was to withhold the information and say little about investigations. FBI field offices “never used the information to gain a systematic or strategic understanding of the nature and extent of al Qaeda fundraising.” […] It’s hard to find statements from Mike Pence contending that FBI failure “must stop,” or have any effect on the bureau’s budget. According to Christopher Wray, that is now $10.8 billion, including “a total of $10.7 billion for salaries and expenses, which will support 36,945 positions.” […] The foes of Donald Trump include the man who ran at his side, and prominent members of his own party. The most formidable foes of the American people are the agencies of their own government, with the FBI leading the charge.

(July 2022) Fox: The Feds Pile Up Vaccine ‘Adverse Event’ Reports as They Decry Scaremongering Elsewhere

Since the Food and Drug Administration authorized the first vaccines for COVID-19 in late 2020, the government and much of the media have insisted that the medicines developed in record time are safe and effective. Those who raised questions about them have been routinely dismissed as conspiracy theorists.

And yet an online database co-administered by the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control has compiled more than 1.3 million reports of vaccine-implicated “adverse events” running the gamut from mild to severe, including 29,000 deaths. Representative entries include: A 44-year-old male from California with a blood clot in the brain (CVST) five days after receiving Pfizer vaccine, dose unknown. A 31-year-old female from Pennsylvania . . . […] These reports are not anecdotes from “anti-vaxxers” on the dark web. They come from the federal government’s open-source log, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.

[…] Dr. Peter McCullough, a renowned cardiologist and academic physician with over 600 papers published in medical literature, was one of the first professionals to publicly question the safety of the COVID-19 injections. On April 21, 2021, on his podcast The McCullough Report, he read out some of the early, alarming statistics from VAERS including reports of 502 heart attacks, 84 miscarriages, 321 cases of low blood platelet counts (thrombocytopenia) and 2,342 deaths. For Dr. McCullough, these numbers were a huge red flag. For comparison, he cites the last “mass vaccination program” undertaken in the United States, the 1976 swine flu vaccine. Dr. McCullough noted that there were approximately 55 million people vaccinated, with an accompanying 500 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome, and around 25 deaths. “And the government officials at that time said, ‘we’re going to pull it.’”

Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct & Exploitation (SESAME), a nonprofit that works to stop childhood sexual abuse by teachers and other school employees, discloses that in 2015, about 3.5 million 8^th-11^th grade students, or nearly 7% of those surveyed divulged that they had experienced “physical sexual contact from an adult” (most often a teacher or coach). […] Perhaps the poster boy for perversity is Mark Berndt. This Los Angeles Unified School District teacher was arrested in 2012 for feeding . . . […] A big part of the problem in Los Angeles and elsewhere lies with the teacher union-mandated labyrinthine collective bargaining agreements that must be followed before a dismissal is finalized. The expensive process is so laborious that many administrators don’t even bother trying to navigate it. Additionally, because about 95% of educator sexual misconduct cases are handled internally and not turned over to law enforcement, it is very easy for a teacher to go to a new school district or state without any legal baggage.

Radical gender theory has made sudden inroads in America’s schools. Many parents have watched in confusion as their children repeat the movement’s slogans and adopt synthetic sexual identities such as “non-binary,” “pansexual,” and “genderqueer.” The next question for many families is: Where does this surge in left-wing sexual ideology come from? One answer: from a network of professional activists, who have smuggled university-style gender theory into more than 4,000 schools under the cover of “gender and sexuality” clubs, or GSAs. The main national organization behind this campaign, the GSA Network, is a professionally staffed nonprofit with a multimillion-dollar annual budget. GSA Network serves as an umbrella organization for more than 4,000 “gender and sexuality alliances” across 40 states. Once called the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, the group rebranded in 2016, reflecting a new focus on “the limits of a binary gender system.” The individual chapters, which operate in elementary, middle, and high schools, often use the language of “LGBTQ inclusion” and “anti-bullying” in their public relations, but behind the scenes, the central organization is driven by pure left-wing radicalism that extends far beyond sexuality.

AP: Yelp to add flags to crisis pregnancy centers

The online reviews site Yelp said Tuesday it is rolling out a new feature to protect users seeking abortions from being misled about anti-abortion pregnancy centers listed on its platform. Such centers are typically religiously affiliated and deter clients from having an abortion. On Tuesday, Yelp said it will place a consumer notice on the listings informing users that the centers “typically provide limited medical services and may not have licensed medical professionals onsite.”

Gillespie: Babylon Bee Won’t Back Down Over Trans Joke Twitter Ban

Back in March, Twitter suspended the account of the massively popular Christian satire site The Babylon Bee after it awarded “Man of the Year” honors to Rachel Levine, a trans woman serving in the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services and who had been named one of USA Today’s “Women of the Year.” The Babylon Bee’s editor in chief, Kyle Mann, says that the offending article was intended to satirize media treatment of identity politics, not demean trans people. “We love trans people,” he tells Reason. “We don’t consider people like that beneath us. You know, the Christian worldview is that everybody has the opportunity to be saved and we can love everybody. I’m no more deserving of God’s grace than a transgender person is. But when the culture bows down and starts handing out trophies to people for stuff like this is when we say, ‘Hey, wait a minute, you know, we need to protect women in our society as well.'” The Babylon Bee’s Twitter account remains locked because the publication refuses to delete the tweet and acknowledge that it contravened Twitter’s policy against hate speech.

Sweet: New report reveals Obama Foundation fundraising dips; CEO Valerie Jarrett paid $592,905 in 2021

Information regarding the Obama Foundation — about its finances, programs and progress in building the Obama Center in Jackson Park — was disclosed in its annual report and Internal Revenue Service Form 990 covering the year 2021. The foundation also released a list of new donors. The IRS 990 is required to be filed annually by tax-exempt organizations. Here’s what’s new: The new 990 report shows that since the foundation was created in 2014, when Obama was still in office, the foundation has raised $866.4 million. The foundation reported on its 990 that in 2021, the Obama Foundation collected $159.6 million in contributions and grants. Goodman: Warnock Voted for COVID Bill That Sent $75K to Social Justice Group He Founded

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D., Ga.) voted for a COVID-19 relief bill that steered $75,000 to a nonprofit social justice group he founded that’s run by the church that supplements his Senate salary to the tune of more than $100,000, according to government records. The Martin Luther King Sr. Collaborative, a community activist group that Warnock led as CEO until at least 2020, sought and received COVID relief funding from the American Rescue Plan in September 2021, according to Georgia financial records. The Martin Luther King Sr. Collaborative was founded by the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Warnock is still employed as lead pastor and which paid him $120,000 last year in addition to his Senate salary.

The husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pleaded guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor driving under the influence charges related to a May crash in California’s wine country and was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation. Paul Pelosi already served two days in jail and received conduct credit for two other days, Napa County Superior Court Judge Joseph Solga said. Paul Pelosi will work eight hours in the court’s work program in lieu of the remaining day, Solga said during Paul Pelosi’s sentencing, which he did not attend.

Kredo: 17 States Demand Answers From Ratings Giant Morningstar Over Anti-Israel Bias

Financial services firm Morningstar “may be furthering the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel,” 17 attorneys general said in a letter sent on Tuesday and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon—and they want answers as to why the firm appears to target and downgrade companies working alongside the Jewish state to combat terrorism. The state officials say they have “serious concerns” that Sustainalytics, Morningstar’s research arm, relies on metrics that inherently portray Israel as an aggressor in its conflict with the Palestinians, and that negatively impacts any companies working with Israel to prevent terrorism. The attorneys general—who represent 17 states including Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Arizona, and Texas—are demanding that Morningstar provide them with in-depth information about its ratings systems by the end of the month.

Researchers in Italy have reported the first known case of someone testing positive for monkeypox, COVID-19 and HIV at the same time. All three infections were new and followed a short trip to Spain. The patient, a 36-year-old Italian man, developed fever, a sore throat, fatigue, headache, and an inflammation of the groin area about 9 days after returning from a 5-day trip to Spain, during which he had sex with men without a condom.
