NOTABLE QUOTES

Harriet Hageman defeated Rep, Liz Cheney in Wyoming primary: “Wyoming has spoken on behalf of everyone who understands that our government is a government of, by, and for the people… While it may not be easy, we can dislodge entrenched politicians who believe they’ve risen above the people they are supposed to serve.”

Rajan Laad contributor to American Thinker: A good concession speech is one where losing candidates congratulates the winner, accepts defeat, respects the voters and their choice, thanks their team and family, and wishes everyone well. Humility and graciousness are the key to it all. It always helps if the speech ends with a call to unity. Cheney’s speech was smug, sanctimonious, and passive-aggressive. She revealed herself to be a sore loser.

Victoria Marshall contributor to The Federalist: Cheney didn’t sacrifice anything by going after Trump and losing her House seat. With media contracts, book deals, and plum positions in the military-industrial complex, she’ll continually be met with thunderous applause by the D.C. establishment that’s grown increasingly detached from Americans. She’s no martyr.

Matt Vespa Senior Editor at Townhall.com: . . .please don’t run for president, Liz. You’re viewed as a Democrat now.

President Donald J. Trump: “[I]n the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely Unredacted Affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN.”

Tracy Beanz contributor to UncoverDC.com:  Breaking: The government has responded to the motion to unseal the affidavit in the Trump warrant case.  There’s another case “completely unrelated” to this one, and they’d like to keep that sealed… There were two separate “sealed” cases on the docket for this judge, both on 8/5. The Times Union of Albany filed on BOTH of these a motion to unseal. This is the DOJ responding that one of them has already been released (sans affidavit) and the OTHER one this motion was filed on should stay sealed because it is “completely unrelated.”

Ray DiLorenzo contributor to Canada Free Press: Anyone who doesn’t yet see what is happening to our country and much of the world is deaf, dumb and very blind.  Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, after everything we have seen, still insists the New World Order is a conspiracy theory. The site is either run by morons or co-conspirators.  The pandemic is no conspiracy theory.  The Deep State is real.  The collapse of our economy, culture and institutions are real.  All our problems stink of an inside job.  The New World Order and its current implementation is real. Our government is setting the stage for a totalitarian takeover.  It’s what the doctor ordered (Dr. Schwab, that is).  And that is no conspiracy theory.

Pedro Gonzalez contributor to Chronicles: For decades the leaders of the Republican Party have contented themselves with paying lip service to traditional values as a mere fundraising strategy. That, it seems, will no longer do—nor will the peasants lay down their pitchforks to preserve the integrity of a conspicuously liberal big tent they never asked for or agreed to. If the GOP is to be more than a “moderate” version of the Democratic Party, it’s going to have to ride the tiger of social conservatism.

Mark Smith  President and CEO Smith & Wesson in a scathing statement aimed at Democrats: “To be clear, a Smith & Wesson firearm has never broken into a home; a Smith & Wesson firearm has never assaulted a woman out for a late-night run in the city; a Smith & Wesson firearm has never carjacked an unsuspecting driver stopped at a traffic light. Instead, Smith & Wesson provides these citizens with the means to protect themselves and their families.”

Emerald Robinson independent journalist: Telling the absolute truth is a dangerous business these days — which explains why so few journalists do it anymore. And, as we should all know by now, lies don’t get you banned on Twitter — only the truth gets you “permanently suspended.”

Peachy Keenan contributor to The American Mind: It’s hard to be afraid of our contemporary supervillains. Try as I might, I just can’t be afraid of weenies named “Merrick Garland” and “Chuck Schumer.” Merrick is the first name of the kid who gets his scrawny butt cheeks taped together in the locker room. Although perhaps that is the origin story of our contemporary foes. We are living in a real-life Revenge of the Nerds remake, but these nerds are all grown up and preening behind desks in offices plastered with framed Harvard degrees. How many bullies teased Schumer and called him “Schmuck Choomer”? Is that his origin story? How many times did Merrick Garland, DNC lawyer Marc Elias, or LA District Attorney George Gascón have to get pantsed in middle school to turn them into the malevolent creatures they are today?

Billy House contributor to Bloomberg: People who attended an invitation-only get-together for Cheney last week at a tony private residence in the foothills of the Teton Range said they were struck by how the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney seemed to be already charting a rebound. Much of the speculation among friends and foes is whether that might mean a run for another office, even president, in two years. “I wouldn’t say she is resigned to losing. But my impression was, generally, that she’s probably thinking more about 2024 than 2022,” said Teton County Commissioner Luther Propst, who attended the event and is among the state’s Democrats crossing party lines to support Cheney.

Dennis Prager contributor to TownHall: The Left has the same morally bankrupt view regarding Israel and its Muslim enemies. On the Left, Israel, with its robust freedoms that extend to its large Muslim minority, is not morally superior to its unfree, terror-honoring Muslim neighbors (e.g., Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Hamas).

Alex Berenson author: National vaccine monitoring data from New Zealand show Pfizer’s mRNA Covid shot is associated with above-normal death rates in teenagers and young adults for weeks after they are jabbed. The signal is subtle and does not prove the vaccines are behind the extra deaths. But they are another warning sign for the mRNA vaccines, which are already known to increase the risk of myocarditis in young men and have effectively no benefit for healthy young people in any case.

THE GREAT GLOBAL RESET

Ring: Green Fascists Are Destroying the World

This is not the environmentalism of previous generations, and this new zealotry does not negate or diminish the common sense concern for the environment that most reasonable people share. But this new breed of intolerant, fanatical environmentalism, manifested in the movement to avert a “climate crisis,” is perhaps the most virulent and dangerous expression of fascism in America today. If left unchecked, this fascistic climate change movement will destroy freedom and prosperity while it destroys the planet it purportedly wants to save. This is not a frivolous accusation because, in this case, the shoe fits. There are two types of fascism. One is based on ideology and manipulates popular emotions, and the other is based on economics and appeals to elitist greed. The climate crisis movement has found a way to combine both. […] Blood Batteries   If everyone were to go electric, minus nuclear power, hydroelectric power, or fossil fuels, that would require roughly 500 exajoules of power (nearly 140,000 terawatt-hours of electricity) to come primarily from the intermittent sources of wind and solar. To balance this on-again-off-again power, has anyone thought through how much raw materials will be required to build a global fleet of batteries, all of which must be decommissioned and recycled roughly every 10 years, to perpetually collect, store and discharge tens of thousands of gigawatt-hours, day after day, through all seasons, decade after decade? Turns out, someone has. The redoubtable Alex Epstein has performed the algebra that environmentalists either ignore or lack the basic math skills to comprehend. He concluded . . . […]  Meanwhile, what is green fascism doing to ordinary people? The Green Fascist Crimes Against Humanity . . .

DiLorenzo: No Longer Conspiracy

Our government is setting the stage for a totalitarian takeover.  It’s what the doctor ordered (Dr. Schwab, that is).  And that is no conspiracy theory. […] And here we are.  Yes, everything is as bad as we have been saying for the last several years. And some of what we reported we could hardly believe ourselves. Yet, we reported it because the sources were credible and were in a better position to know.  They all turned out to be true.  All while we are still being told by the likes of Wikipedia, other Left-wing outlets, and the oblivious, that it is all conspiracy. Even when the likes of the World Economic Forum, the author of much of our crises, were totally upfront about their intentions and even released a video divulging it.   And yet, we can hardly believe the transition our country has taken in such a short time…sort of like the government saying ‘are you going to believe us or your lying eyes?’ We are in the final stages of a Marxist takeover of our country although, in reality, it is manifesting itself as a strange combination of communism and fascism, even so, totalitarian. […]  The radicals of the 60s and 70s have now taken over our government and their intention is to destroy it. The four stages of this takeover, as expressed in 1984 by Yuri Bezmenov, journalist and Soviet defector, are now seeing fruition. Stage one:  Demoralization Bezmenov said it will take 15 – 20 years to demoralize a nation. Barack Obama, a schooled Cloward and Piven Marxist, once in office, wasted little time telling us our country is racist and un-redemptive, in dire need of transformation. Our TV screens have shown the destruction of historic sights and statues, the rise of Black Lives Matter led by trained Marxists, Antifa, the militant arm, the ‘Brown Shirts’ of the Marxist movement. Our education system has turned hard Left…renaming schools, teaching the history of our country while concentrating on a negative context, no longer teaching civics or patriotism, and, of course, the media, TV, print and internet show us how everything we stand for is pointless.  Fully half of our young do not believe in our system of government.  Do you believe they came to that perception on their own?

Stage Two: Destabilization . . .

Brown: Donald Trump Reacts to ‘Very Big Liz Cheney Loss’

Another key primary candidate endorsed by former President Donald Trump won on Tuesday when Harriet Hageman walloped incumbent GOP Rep. Liz Cheney by 30+ points, and the 45th president was quick to chime in on the outcome. “Congratulations to Harriet Hageman on her great and very decisive WIN in Wyoming,” Trump posted late Tuesday evening. “This is a wonderful result for America, and a complete rebuke of the Unselect Committee of political Hacks and Thugs,” he added. “Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others,” Trump continued in his post on Truth Social. “Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!” the former president added. But Trump wasn’t done yet, . . .

Ferrechio: Trump faces off with Garland in high-stakes fight

Democrats and other opponents of former President Donald Trump are clamoring for the Justice Department to lock ’em up a week after the FBI’s unprecedented raid of Mr. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. They want criminal charges filed against the former president and his close associates that would lead to their arrests and the banishment of Mr. Trump from public office. Legal experts and former prosecutors say Attorney General Merrick Garland will decide whether to seek charges against the former president by presenting a case to a grand jury.

Barnett: These Two Amendments Are Trump’s Friend Right Now

The U.S. attorney general (A.G.), the FBI, and the federal Judiciary have all done themselves and our country irreversible harm.  Absent a Supreme Court ruling, legal precedents like this, once established, have a nasty way of remaining precedents. In the future, any A.G., with the complicity of the FBI and just one federal judge, will be permitted to do the same thing to anyone, all in the name of whatever faux reason they can “trump up.” However, Trump has a constitutional option to overturn this outrageous search. Any fair court must recognize that this search was “permitted” by a bogus warrant, issued by a radical Obama judicial appointee, U.S. Magistrate Bruce Reinhart, based on counter-factual information from a single unreliable “insider.”  […]  What are the grounds for the court to overturn the warrant, disallowing all “information” seized?  Trump has three claims under the Bill of Rights, under the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.

Matt: SIEGE at MAR-a-LAGO: A Globalist Panic Attack

In this episode of The Remnant Underground, Michael Matt comments on the unprecedented FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida. What’s going on here, and who’s behind what history will surely describe as one of the most embarrassing scandals in US political history?

Speaking of scandals, what’s with Cowboy Dick Cheney calling Donald Trump the “most dangerous man in the history of our nation”? This from the guy who’s responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Iraq? Man, there’s a lot of fear in the enemy camps right now!

Pollak: Allen Weisselberg Refuses to Testify Against Trump in Plea Deal

Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer (CFO) of the Trump Organization, Donald Trump’s business empire, is expected to reach a plea deal with prosecutors in a tax fraud case that does not require him to testify against the former president. Weisselberg and the Trump Organization pleaded not guilty last year when indicted by the Manhattan district attorney in a joint local and state investigation that accused them of not reporting tax liabilities for employee fringe benefits for several years. The relatively minor allegations were anticlimactic, given the public determination of elected Democratic prosecutors to pursue Trump for whatever crime they could find.

Navarro: The Clown Prince of Pennsylvania Avenue

Take credit for what worked. Shift the blame for what didn’t. Run to Daddy-in-law whenever the big, bad chief of staff got in his way. That was Jared Kushner’s modus operandi during the long four years I had to serve alongside the man most responsible for the loss of the Trump White House. Kushner came to the D.C. swamp on the coattails of his wife as nothing more than a young and rich, run-of-the-mill liberal New York Democrat with a worldview totally orthogonal to the president he was supposed to serve. Yet, within the West Wing, Kushner considered himself to be the ultimate “Trump whisperer.” In private, Jared would boast about how he had brought the president back from whatever he considered the brink to be that day—whether it was securing the southern border, leaving NAFTA, or slapping tariffs on China. Never mind that he was derailing, deterring, and delaying Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda in real-time and at great political and economic costs. […] Fortunately, if Trump makes it back to the White House, it will be a Kushner-free zone. Kushner has already disqualified himself from future White House employment by cashing in on his White House connections to fund his many entrepreneurial ventures.

Mastrangelo: Laura Ingraham: Voters might say it’s ‘time to turn the page’ on Trump

“People conflate Trump with people’s overall sense of happiness in the country. Donald Trump’s been a friend of mine for 25 years, and I’m always very open about this on my show. But, you know we’ll see whether that’s what the country wants,” Ingraham said during an appearance on Lisa Boothe’s podcast. “The country I think is so exhausted. They’re exhausted by the battle, the constant battle, that they may believe that, well, maybe it’s time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all Trump’s policies, who’s not Trump.” Trump has unleashed a streak of populism in the Republican Party that might not appeal to voters writ large in 2024, Ingraham theorized. “The other problem is . . .

BIDEN’S STASI

Oliver: House Judiciary Republicans Hit DOJ, FBI with Preservation Notices After Trump Raid, Demand ‘Complete Cooperation’

The Republicans requested in the notices, addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray, an array of documents related to last week’s FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, and further requested that Garland and Wray preserve such documents for if and when Republicans have majority control and are able to conduct a formal investigation. A third nearly identical preservation notice was also sent to White House chief of staff Ron Klain. […] Read copies of the notices . . .

Turley: Why the Case Against Donald Trump Remains Incomplete

The FBI’s raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was received by many with joy bordering on ecstasy. Comedian Stephen Colbert declared the raid to be Christmas come early, while others joked about the possibility of executing Trump as a spy. Yet the celebration may be another triumph of hope over experience, with pundits again declaring an open-and-shut case without seeing the actual evidence. The problem is that much in this investigation remains unknown and much of the analysis seems more visceral than legal. While details may be forthcoming that will fill in the glaring gaps, any prosecution on the record we know today would face novel — and potentially insurmountable — questions. At the risk of being a killjoy, here is what we know and don’t know about these charges. […] . . . pundits are discussing Trump’s disqualification from future public office based on his expected conviction. Even if convicted, such a disqualification would be flagrantly unconstitutional — but, when it comes to Trump, neither the law nor the evidence ever seems particularly important to the analysis.

WYOMING & ALASKA PRIMARY RESULTS

Hanchett: Hageman: Cheney Lost Due to Obsessive Focus on Trump When Voters Cared about Inflation, Energy, Illegal Immigration

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Wyoming Congressional candidate Harriet Hageman (R) stated that her opponent Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) lost in large part because “She’s not focusing on Wyoming. She’s not focusing on our issues. She’s still focusing on an obsession [with] President Trump.” And that inflation, illegal immigration, and energy were the most important issues to voters, not the former President.

Papadopoulos: Running to Unchain Wyoming

“I’m an America First candidate,” Hageman told me in a June interview, explaining why she would have voted against the $40 billion aid package to Ukraine that Cheney supported. Wyomingites, she says, care about border security, inflation, and protecting energy jobs. “I think about what Americans need. Liz Cheney thinks, What does Lockheed Martin need?” But the showdown between Cheney and Hageman reveals more than the enduring influence of Trump. Cheney and Hageman represent rival elites offering rival accounts of what ails America. In her policy preferences and the very pattern of her career, Liz Cheney embodies the GOP establishment of the last half-century.

Falconer: Cheney after GOP primary loss: “Now the real work begins”

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) gave a defiant concession speech following her Republican primary loss to her Trump-endorsed challenger Harriet Hageman in Wyoming on Tuesday night.  […] What she’s saying: “Two years ago, I won this primary with 73% of the vote. I could easily have done the same again,” Cheney said. “But it would have required that I go along with President Trump’s lie about the 2020 election. That was a path I could and would not take.” […] “Abraham Lincoln was defeated in elections for the Senate and House before he won the most important election of all,” she said. The bottom line: “This primary election is over, but now the real work begins,” Cheney told supporters.

Laad: Liz Cheney’s graceless concession speech follows her landslide defeat in WY primary

Rep. Liz Cheney suffered an emphatic routing in her Wyoming primary race. She ended up securing only 49,316 votes, which is just 28.9% percent of all the votes while Hageman secured 109,902 votes which is an emphatic 66.3% of the total votes, according to the latest count as of this writing.

After thanking her team and her family members, Cheney began her ‘concession’ speech. […]  The self-righteous Cheney was indirectly blaming Republican voters of Wyoming implying they were immoral, ignorant, and gullible, hence they believe ‘the big lie’ and voted for the wrong candidate. She claims to be the moral martyr who suffered for standing up for the right values.

THE SECOND AMENDMENT

(A CEO with a spine) Hawkins: Smith & Wesson CEO: ‘A Smith & Wesson Firearm Has Never Broken into a Home’

Smith & Wesson president and CEO Mark Smith released a statement Monday pushing back against House Democrats, noting that “a Smith & Wesson firearm has never broken into a home.” Smith’s statement comes just weeks after Daniel Defense CEO Marty Daniel and Sturm, Ruger, and Co. CEO Christopher Killoy testified before a House Oversight Committee hearing as Democrats criticized firearm makers’ marketing tactics and profits. Highlights of the hearing included Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) asking Ruger to agree not to sell certain types of ammunition, to which Ruger CEO Killoy responded, “We do not sell ammunition.” At another point in the hearing, Committee chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) claimed gun manufacturers “sell the weapons of choice to mass murderers.” But Breitbart News pointed out that gun manufacturers do not sell guns to individuals,  They sell guns to wholesalers and distributors, who, in turn, sell them to federally licensed dealers, who, in turn, sell them to citizens who pass a federal background check.

U.S. SUPREME COURT

Thornton: The Dobbs and Kennedy Rulings Intensify the Left’s War on Religion

The Supreme Court’s affirmation of the states’ power to settle controversial issues upon which the Constitution is silent has the usual “woke” suspects hyperventilating over religion’s dangerous power to undermine “our democracy.” This war on religion, now in its third century, is predicated on dubious ideologies, ignorance of the role of faith in the Constitution and America’s Founding, and an evangelical faith in the power of “science” that lies at the heart of our progressive technocracy. As such, the hysteria over Dobbs is really about the power and authority of progressives who are threatened by religion and institutions of civil society. Two examples of the “woke” panic about faith allegedly driving the Supreme Court’s decisions appeared last week. […]  The Kennedy decision is equally hated by the “woke” because it corrects the distortion of the First Amendment right to free speech by excluding religious speech. As Justice Gorsuch wrote for the majority,  . . .

Fleetwood: John Roberts’ Failure To Bring Dobbs Leaker To Justice Sets A Dangerous Precedent

More than 100 days have passed since the infamous leak of the U.S. Supreme Court’s majority draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization and Americans are still no closer to finding out the identity of the leaker than the day the draft decision was published. […]  Despite his tough rhetoric in condemning the draft decision’s leak, Chief Justice Roberts has yet to provide any details about whether the court’s inquiry has identified the individual responsible, let alone if the investigation remains ongoing. Given the long-held and respected inner workings of SCOTUS and the small pool of individuals granted access to draft opinions, it seems highly irregular that court authorities have not yet publicly identified the leaker.

Gonzales: Revolt Against the Rainbow RINOs

There is a widening gap on LGBT issues between the right-wing grass roots in the states and the national Republican Party establishment.

In just the first few months of 2022, state lawmakers proposed a record 238 bills designed to curtail the proliferation and effects of LGBT ideology. That is nearly a sixfold increase from 41 such bills proposed in all of 2018, according to an NBC News analysis of data from the American Civil Liberties Union and the LGBT advocacy group Freedom for All Americans. Most of these measures aim to reform school curricula, enshrine religious freedom, and staunch the spread of transgenderism. This activity at the state level shows the existence of a thriving popular movement pushing back against LGBT activism. But what seems to be a paradox comes into view: this struggle would not have been necessary if the national GOP establishment were not complicit in promoting the LGBT movement, giving up ground that the grass roots is now fighting to recover. The national GOP has long been able to browbeat its socially conservative constituency into conformity with the spirit of the times, which haunts the corridors of D.C. more than the town halls of Middle America. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a high-ranking state-level member of the Republican National Committee (RNC) told Chronicles that the order to push the LGBT agenda came from national leadership, in defiance of grassroots opinion. “All of it was done unilaterally” the committee member said. “I got hundreds if not thousands of emails, as did other members from people all over the country, saying, ‘has the RNC decided to abandon our marriage platform?’”

I & I Editorial Board: Job One For The GOP: Kill The Inflation Reduction Act

As we pointed out in this space weeks ago, the entire bill is a lie. It has nothing whatsoever to do with inflation and, in fact, won’t reduce it at all. The University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Wharton Budget Model says the IRA’s “impact on inflation is statistically indistinguishable from zero.” Bill Adams, chief economist for Comerica Bank, says it won’t rein in rising prices “over the short run.” Even the Congressional Budget Office says it does nothing to address inflation. What it will do, however, is: . . . […]  Simply put, the IRA is jam-packed with Democratic Party crackpot ideas that couldn’t get passed on their own. It is the most rancid of rotten policy stews cooked up in more than a decade. Republicans need to campaign for the midterms on the sworn pledge that if they get veto-proof majorities in both chambers, they’ll repeal it. Fake promises, like the ones made about Obamacare, are unacceptable.

In the meantime, the Republicans, . . .

Bradford: John Cornyn vs. Intellectual Property

The Texas senator would reward Big Tech by weakening the Trump Administration’s IP enforcement reforms. […] Cornyn’s approval ratings currently stand at a dismal 36 percent among Texas Republicans. His popularity will not be helped by his praise of Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), recently telling the New York Times, “I respect her.”  […] One area of betrayal conservatives have overlooked so far, however, is Cornyn’s cozy relationship with Big Tech. In 2019, as conservatives were beginning to fight back against Silicon Valley censorship, he opined, “The discussion of breaking up a Google or breaking up a Facebook is not what we should be doing.” The Texas senator pressured Trump to appoint former staffer Noah Phillips to the FTC, where he denied the commission had any authority to address Big Tech censorship. In July 2020, when even moderate Republicans were waking up to Big Tech’s bias, he promoted puff pieces on Google. […]  Cornyn seems to care more about what Big Tech thinks than his own voters. He’s just another swamp creature who refuses to listen to the base.

When Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke at the ‘Unite and Win’ event from Turning Point on Sunday we all expected it to be awesome. And it was. You may have seen clips floating around already on social media and conservative websites, but interestingly, unlike a Trump rally, the MSM is hiding the ball on most of what DeSantis had to say. FAUCI’S VIRUS

Piper: Scientists shred new research for mask mandates as ‘junk science,’ ‘irredeemably flawed’

Study promoted by Pulitzer winner would fail undergraduate med school class, U.K. researcher claims. he current unpopularity of mask mandates in American school districts has not stopped mask advocates from promoting their return as a COVID-19 mitigation measure, but the research used to justify mandates is facing expanded scrutiny. A preprint of a study conducted in Boston-area school districts, not yet peer-reviewed, is “irredeemably flawed” in part because the researchers seemed unaware they were comparing apples and oranges, University of California San Francisco epidemiologist Vinay Prasad wrote in his newsletter Sunday. “How junk science got spread like wildfire,” pediatric infectious disease researcher Alasdair Munro wrote in his newsletter last week, analyzing a widely shared meta-analysis of mask research. The preprint is “so riddled with basic errors” Munro wondered if it was an academic hoax along the lines of physicist Alan Sokal’s postmodern prank.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Binder: IRS Whistleblower: ‘Billionaires … Laughing’ as Biden Plan Targets Working, Middle Class with Audits

William Henck, a former IRS lawyer, told Fox Business Network that executives at the biggest corporations and billionaires are “sitting back laughing right now” as Biden signs the Inflation Reduction Act. “The idea that they’re going to open things up and go after these big billionaires and large corporations is quite frankly bulls–t. It’s not going to happen. They’re going to give themselves bonuses and promotions and really nice conferences,” Henck said: . . .[…]  Henck said that despite claims from Biden and Democrats in Washington, D.C., that the new IRS audits will target the wealthiest of Americans, he warns that it is small business owners who will be hit the hardest — such as mom and pop shops, roofing companies, and local car dealerships. An analysis from House Republicans projects that the Inflation Reduction Act will open hundreds of thousands of new IRS audits on working and middle class Americans: . . .

Rigolizzo: Top Biden Climate Adviser Sanctioned By National Academy Of Sciences For Ethical Violations

Jane Lubchenco, the deputy director for climate and environment at the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, was sanctioned by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) on August 8, Axios reported. Lubchenco’s sanction stemmed from a violation of the NAS’ code of conduct. Specifically, Lubchenco edited a paper that appeared in the NAS’ peer-reviewed journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, in 2020; but the paper did not use the most recent available data, and Lubchenco had a personal relationship with one of the researchers in violation of the journal’s editorial policies.

Folley: Education Dept. discharges $3.9 billion of student debt for ITT Tech borrowers

The Education Department on Tuesday announced plans to discharge $3.9 billion in federal student loans for 208,000 borrowers in its latest round of relief. The office said the discharge would apply to any remaining federal student loans that the borrowers received to attend ITT Technical Institute, which closed in September 2016, from January 2005 and on. “This includes borrowers who have not yet applied for a borrower defense to repayment discharge. These borrowers will have the federal student loans they received to attend ITT discharged without any additional action on their part,” the agency announced on Tuesday morning.

Keenan: Supervillains

Don’t let their non-threatening looks deceive you. They may not execute their enemies by opening trap doors above tanks filled with ravenous piranhas or slicing them in two with laser beams. Instead, they meticulously plot our slow-motion executions by government paperwork: subpoenas, tax audits, legal arcana, motions to compel. They cackle in their conference rooms, stroking their fluffy white stacks of newly passed laws codifying our impending demise. One wrong move and heavily armed IRS agents will appear at your door “ready to use deadly force,” as the actual job description stated.

Our supervillains employ armies of “childcare workers” and “educators” who will quietly download their fully compliant operating system into every elementary school student in America. They hide behind values we cherish, like “free speech,” to defend explicit child pornography in school libraries.

The kid you send to school this month will not be the same kid in June. […]  The one contemporary supervillain who genuinely terrifies me is the only one with a great villain name. Chase Strangio is a mustachioed, very petite transgender man and the ACLU’s fiercest bulldog. Chase spends a lot of time filing—and winning—lawsuits against schools in red states with dangerous transphobic policies like not allowing people with penises into the girls’ showers. Strangio even got Kirsti Noem to cave on transgender sports.  f you say “Chase Strangio” three times out loud, a process server arrives at your door that instant. Do not taunt Chase Strangio!

THE WAR ON CHILDREN

Rosiak: Some School Districts Move To Four-Day Weeks At Teachers’ Behest

Following two years of many teachers working from home, citing coronavirus, some school districts will resume school this month with only four days of instruction per week, citing the inability to find teachers who want to work full-time. Twenty-seven school districts in Texas will move from a five- to a four-day week this year in order to attract teachers, the Star-Telegram reported. Other districts across the country are doing the same, such as in Missouri (where a local paper called it a “terrible idea“), Montana, and Idaho. It could come at the expense of children’s academics, at a time when academic performance is abysmal and children are especially far behind because of the lack of in-person school during the coronavirus pandemic. […]  While the schedule makes life more pleasant for teachers, it also comes at the expense of parents who will have to find and pay for childcare for one day a week . . . […]  Teachers’ unions enraged parents across the country, and especially in liberal states, in the last two years by refusing to return to work, citing coronavirus, . . .

BlazeTV Staff: Non-binary ‘groomer’ says adults are ‘problematic’ and kids are ‘here for a good time’

Libs of TikTok posted a video of a teacher/groomer who in addition to culturally appropriating Chinese culture by wearing an Asian-style shirt, praised students for “seeing” him or her before he or she “was ready to be seen.” The tweet read: “Non-binary teacher explains ‘kids brains are more elastic’ and that’s how ‘they’ get students to use they/them pronouns and the Mx honorific.” The only question that must be asked is why any adult feels such a deep need to be understood and accepted by children — except for groomers.

Bortins: Parents Must Have Tough Conversations With Their Kids To Counter A Progressive Onslaught

First things first, families need to be grounded in what the Declaration of Independence calls the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God, meaning God’s law is true, supreme, and immutable. In today’s society, children are taught that it is acceptable, and often encouraged, to redefine nature’s law. To “create your own truth” and go against the foundational truths that this country was built upon. Being rooted in the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God is the starting point, the catapult, for addressing difficult topics that our kids are facing on a daily basis. Gone are the days when our God-given body parts were the determining factor of our sexual identity. Leftist agendas are now pushing that your sex is determined at birth, but your gender is not determined until you are old enough to start showing either feminine or masculine tendencies. Parents are being told to keep their children’s biological sex secret until their child is old enough to decide their own identity. This blatantly goes against the laws of nature. […]  Not preparing our children adequately can lead to significant problems for the next and rising generations. Parents need to educate themselves so they can teach their children to recognize truth over propaganda. Introducing children to the truth and having these difficult conversations with your kids early on and in an age-appropriate manner will better prepare and equip them for the future.

Stiles: The Democratic Grooming Scandal No One’s Talking About

Republicans and other anti-grooming activists are seething after a photo resurfaced of Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman’s family posing with a controversial anime character best known for enslaving a child. The photo, which Fetterman posted on Twitter in April 2019, shows the candidate’s wife and three children posing with an exceedingly large man in a creepy demon mask and long black cloak. Experts familiar with the anime genre tell the Washington Free Beacon the masked individual was portraying the character Elias Ainsworth from the Japanese manga series The Ancient Magus’ Bride. […]  Fetterman’s decision to glorify the despicable character, months after taking office as lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, is the latest in a series of scandals plaguing the state’s Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. He was widely criticized, for example, for holding an innocent black jogger at gunpoint in 2013.

DEMOCRAT SELF-DEALING

Anderson: ‘Squad’ Member Expanded Her Rental Property Portfolio as She Pushed For Taxpayer-Funded Landlord Relief

Pressley purchased her second rental property, a two-unit home in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood, for $340,000 in May 2021, according to property records and financial disclosures reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Just two months before the purchase, the Democrat—along with fellow Squad members Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.)—introduced a bill that would have created a “landlord relief fund” to reimburse landlords who lost rent payments from March 1, 2020 to April 1, 2022. Pressley owned and operated at least four rental units during that time period, the Democrat’s financial disclosures show. In addition to her Mattapan property, Pressley in 2019 purchased a $658,000 Boston home that she converted into a two-family building. That property brought Pressley up to $15,000 in rental income in 2020 and up to $100,000 in rental income in 2021, suggesting that the Democrat may have lost revenue during the pandemic, thus making her eligible for taxpayer-funded relief through her bill. The legislation specifically prioritizes landlords with “the fewest available amount of assets,” making minor lessors such as Pressley more likely to receive funds.

Christenson: Ron Wyden’s Wife Raked in PPP Loans While Laying Off Hundreds

The Oregon Democrat warned that wealthy business owners could abuse the loan program. Financial disclosures suggest his wife did just that. […]  Nancy Bass Wyden, the multimillionaire owner of New York’s Strand bookstore, received $2.7 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans between 2020 and 2021 and nonetheless went on to lay off 180 employees. Small businesses were eligible for the federally forgiven loans on the condition that they used a majority of the funds to keep employees on the payroll. In October 2020, Bass Wyden told CBS News that the Strand would not rehire many of those employees and that the store would “have to give back part of the loan due to the forgiveness rules.”

Kaminsky: Top Biden Adviser’s Consulting Clients Stand To Benefit From New Gov’t Spending

White House Senior adviser Anita Dunn has consulted for companies and trade groups that have benefited or stand to benefit from federal funding and is being forced to recuse herself from matters involving them, according to a financial disclosure. Dunn has consulted through the public affairs firm SKDK during the past two years for the likes of Pfizer, AT&T, Micron and the American Clean Power Association, according to a filing reported on by CNBC Friday. Dunn, who founded the SKDK in 2004, is recused from working on issues related to past clients, a spokesman for the White House told the Daily Caller News Foundation. […]  One of Dunn’s clients, Pfizer, inked a $3.2 billion COVID-19 vaccine deal with the Biden administration in June to deliver 105 million doses this Fall. The company, along with others, has been at the forefront of the vaccine rollout effort during the Trump and Biden administrations. Dunn also had AT&T as a client. The company notably spent thousands lobbying for Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure package, filings show, which President Joe Biden signed in November 2021, and delivered $65 billion for domestic broadband.

Because of Dunn’s employment classification and salary level in 2021, she dodged the traditional ethics disclosure requirement government officials usually must submit (publicly disclosing past consulting clients, investments, and other possible conflicts of interest). Dunn was able to keep her firm’s clients private, especially clients that had a particular interest in access to the Biden White House, such as Pfizer.

NO, THIS ISN’T ISLAMOPHOBIA OR BIGOTRY

Dennis Prager: A Reminder About the Moral Difference Between the Christian and Muslim Worlds at This Time

Tens of millions of Muslims believe that if a person insults Islam, Muhammad or the Quran, he should be killed. Any Muslim who does kill a person deemed to have insulted Islam goes straight to heaven when he or she dies. The most famous case of Muslims murdering people charged with insulting Islam occurred in 2015, when two French Muslims entered the Paris editorial offices of the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, and murdered 12 people and wounded 11 others. Charlie Hebdo had printed cartoon images of Muhammad, which most Muslims consider forbidden even to non-Muslims.

That same week, . . .[…]  If Christians reacted to insults to Christianity the way Muslims react to insults to Islam, there would be daily murders in America and elsewhere. Christianity is constantly insulted in America and elsewhere in the West, and Christians are regularly murdered by Muslims in the Middle East and Africa.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

(H/T CC) Setty, MD: Must-Read Book Asks: Why, After 7 Decades, Don’t We Have Proof Vaccines Provide More Benefit Than Risk?

n 2019, a remarkable book, “Turtles All The Way Down: Vaccine Science and Myth,” was published in Israel. The book, originally written in Hebrew, is a comprehensive examination of the evidence behind the assertion that vaccines are safe and effective. Though it might easily have been lost to obscurity, the book gained initial acclaim when the leading medical journal in Israel, Harefuah (“Medicine”), gave it a positive review. Writing in the September 2019 issue of Harefuah, two senior academic criminologists, Nati Ronel and Eti Elisha, “found the book to be well-written, serious, scientific and important” offering “a comprehensive view of the issue.” “Turtles All The Way Down: Vaccine Science and Myth” became the first book critical of vaccines to have ever received a positive review from a mainstream medical journal. […]  Had “Turtles All The Way Down” received its deserved attention from the international medical community when it was written one year prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world may very well have avoided the predicament that we are in today. Nevertheless, the book is still relevant. […]  In order to answer the simple question of whether the “safe and effective” vaccine narrative is scientific or merely a myth we have to start with the basics and see what rabbit holes appear and then see where they lead. The book does just that: Chapter 1 describes how vaccine clinical trials are conducted and the limits of what can be gleaned by these kinds of investigations. How much can we know about the safety of the products we inject into our children if no vaccine on the CDC’s childhood schedule was ever tested against a true placebo? Chapter 2 . . . […]  The authors invite us to dig deeper and ask the obvious question: Why? Why, after seven decades, do we not have any proof that vaccines provide more benefit than risk? Why are all vaccines on the childhood schedule tested against other vaccines or non-placebos to establish safety when a true placebo would be safer and offer more information? Why is the CDC unwilling to replace the inadequate Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System or VAERS with a working solution that was modeled a decade ago? Why hasn’t a study that compares the overall health of unvaccinated children to vaccinated children ever been done?

O’Connor: Meet the 80-Year-Old Woman Who Refused to Shower With a Man

While the trans-rights totalitarians taunt Jaman as an intolerant, Matt Walsh-loving bigot, it’s important to note that she is a life-long Democrat who staged anti-war protests in the 60s and has spear-headed voter registration drives for the “party of tolerance.” “It’s darn-right confusing,” Jaman told Reduxx. “I am from the old-school. I know what being discriminated is about. I know about human dignity. I marched against the Vietnam war. I know all about racial discrimination against people of color. I know about the need for tolerance … But I don’t get this.” But this is the world we live in now. It’s the world created by the very people Jaman helped put in power in her home state of Washington and the nation’s capital of the same name. Pollak: L.A. Claims 27% Error Rate in Recall Signatures; < 1% Error Rate in Mail-in Ballots in 2020

The county reported that it rejected 195,783 of the 715,833 signatures submitted, roughly 27.3%. The reasons given included that some voters were found to be unregistered; incorrect addresses were given; or signatures did not match those on file. However, in January 2021, the county reported that less than 1% of the 3,422,585 vote-by-mail ballots submitted were rejected. The test for the validity of ballots is similar to that of petitions, involving checking signatures and addresses. Given that the State of California mailed ballots to every voter on the rolls, rather than just to those who had requested them as in years past, there was a high likelihood of error; some voters reported receiving multiple ballots, often for prior residents. (These problems persisted in the 2021 recall election for Gov. Gavin Newsom, as personally witness by this author.)

Haran, Gavish: How Covid Policy Tore Israel Apart

Incitement, division, scapegoating and social polarization. According to Jewish tradition, both the First Temple and the Second Temple were destroyed on the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av, which fell on August 7th this year. Tradition also says that the destruction of the Temples and subsequent exiles were due to senseless hatred among the Jewish people. Pandemics have always provided fertile ground for the flourishing of hatred, racism, incitement, extreme nationalism and even the murder of minorities. The lack of scientific basis has not prevented various groups throughout history from using the term “disease spreaders” as a basis for policies based on scapegoating and incitement. The main reasons for this phenomenon are the human need to look for a scapegoat that can be blamed for a negative phenomenon and the ease with which leaders use the fear of illness and death to justify draconian measures against “the other.” […]  All human attempts to bring about the total extinction of Covid have been doomed to fail from the start. However, the failure of all the efforts to fight Covid—starting with the sophisticated mathematical models, through the lockdowns, the masks, the attempts to identify and break chains of transmission and the mass vaccination of the entire population—did not result in drawing conclusions or in rethinking and recalibrating the response—but in the tendency to signal out “guilty parties.”
