NOTABLE QUOTES
John Davison contributor to The Federalist on the Democrat led “cancellation” of Dr. Seuss books: There’s a predictable pattern to what we’re seeing now. It’s predictable because it has happened before in much the same way it’s happening now. During China’s Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and ‘70s, the Chinese Communist Party, at the direction of Mao Zedong, called for the destruction of the “Four Olds”: old customs, old culture, old habits, old ideas. All of these stood in the way of Mao’s socialist ideology, so they had to be destroyed.
Belle Kendle contributor to American Greatness: We are being herded as a great horde of sheeple into pens awaiting intellectual and moral execution.
Julie Kelly contributor to American Greatness: Democrats in Congress are rushing to supersede any attempt by state Republicans to eliminate COVID-justified election rules. Debate begins this week on HR 1, the “For the People Act,” which not only would codify the pandemic-era voting guidance but greatly expand access to voting in ways that would ensure a Republican never again wins the White House, not to mention many other federal and state offices. HR 1 is the biggest attempted electoral power grab in history, a flagrant and unconstitutional usurpation of the authority individual states have to write election law.
J.B. Shurk contributor to American Thinker: Free advice, Deep State: If you’re going to take down a sitting president who has more energy than Tom Cruise dancing on Oprah Winfrey’s sofa, then at least install a body in the Oval Office more lively than a medical cadaver. Otherwise, people start wondering how the naptime president could possibly have scored more votes than anyone else in American history, while his predecessor is still doing two hours of cardio live and onstage in Orlando before sold-out crowds.
Chrissy Clark contributor to The Daily Wire discusses the release of the Navy’s “stand -down” training: In the Q&A portion of the training manual, commanding officers are given a list of possible questions that may arise. One question asked whether it was appropriate to discuss Black Lives Matter in the workplace. The training manual said it is appropriate because Black Lives Matter “is not politically partisan in nature.”
John Brennan Obama CIA Director on MSNBC: I’m increasingly embarrassed to be a white male these days.
Rick Moran contributor to PJMedia: There is no such thing as ‘white mathematics’” is irrelevant. As the Nazis in Germany discovered, you can invent anything and by generating enough fear and terror, it will become true.
John Nolte contributor to Breitbart News: Three credible sexual misconduct allegations, some 15,000 dead senior citizens, lies, and cover-ups. Yep, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is what you get when a Democrat knows the media will shield him from anything.
PRESIDENT TRUMP
Shurk: President Trump’s 2021 State of the Union Address
It was just so surreal watching a humbled Donald Trump take the stage at CPAC, visibly shaken by his election loss, bend the knee to Romney-Cheney Republicanism, and express his hope that the attack dogs in the press would leave him alone during his twilight years away from the public eye. Er…nope. That doesn’t even sound believable. The only place where that establishment fantasy played out was the online fan fiction board of the Hillary Clinton–John Kasich–Ben Sasse mutual support and suffering group. Most presidents leave office looking worse for wear; six weeks after being deplatformed by the swamp, Donald Trump looks more like a wrestler getting ready to rumble. If Washington thought it could weaken President Trump’s appeal by making him an “enemy of the state” and trashing his supporters as seditionists, it miscalculated.

McMurray: WHOA! More Than 31 Million Viewers Watched Trump’s Speech
In 2017, President Trump’s inauguration drew an incredible 31 million television viewers. Yesterday, only one month after Biden’s inauguration, President Trump’s first public speech drew over 31 million on social media. Ironically, Trump has been banned from Facebook and Twitter where millions watched his blockbuster speech. […] Compare Trump’s incredible reach with his CPAC speech to the newly elected “President” Biden who campaigned from his basement, yet was able to get 81 million votes in the November election (election integrity comes to mind). In his most recent address to American workers, a whopping 38K viewers tuned in. Comments have been turned off on all White House videos after Biden’s videos were inundated with mostly negative remarks.

RUSH LIMBAUGH
Hochman: Who’s Afraid of Rush Limbaugh’s Audience?
Conservatives would be mistaken to throw Rush and his fans under the bus. In its response to the death of Rush Limbaugh, elite opinion dripped with the same disgust it directed toward the movement that produced the Trump presidency. Limbaugh, we read, was the voice of irredeemable bigots, motivated by anger and fear. He was the hero of backwards hatemongers, bitterly clinging to their guns and their religion. He spoke for government of the deplorables, by the deplorables, and for the deplorables. The Washington Post—an outlet that eulogized Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as an “austere religious scholar”—decried Rush’s “relentless bashing of liberals, feminists and environmentalists,” which allowed him “to…lead the Republican Party into a politics of anger and obstruction.”The New York Times—whose obituary for Qassim Suleimani pointed out that the “master of Iran’s intrigue” was seen as “a larger-than-life hero” with an “asceticism and quiet charisma” that “joined to create an image of a warrior-philosopher”—attacked Limbaugh as the “divisive darling of the right” for his “mockery, grievance and denigrating language,” which “traffick[ed] in conspiracy theories” and “foment[ed] mistrust, grievances and even hatred on the right for Americans who did not share their views.” Twitter was even worse. […] Rush activated millions of Americans whose political disengagement worsened apace with this betrayal— while all while the institutional conservative movement and the establishment GOP remained asleep at the wheel. […] Despite Rush’s accomplishments, some elite conservatives struggle to accept his place in their coalition. […] Rush was ahead of his time in seeing how our elite institutions were hardening against conservatives. He captured this insight in 1994, in his speech to the incoming Republican congressional majority: . . .

GOP
Fuentes: Taking the GOP Out Behind the Woodshed
At CPAC, Donald Trump swung a mighty cudgel against the corruption and subterfuge of the Democratic party. While discounting rumors of starting his own political party and teasing the mainstream media with whispers of his own candidacy in 2024, he laid out a template to repudiate the America Last doctrine of the Biden administration. Given the present state of Republican malaise, such a turnabout in thinking would require an overhaul of the Grand Old Party. Did the party listen? A review of recent history suggests entrenched political infirmities and a difficult road ahead.

Trejo: REJECTED: Marjorie Taylor Greene Stops Cori Bush’s Amendment to Allow Violent Convicted Felons to Vote
Legislative mastery from the Notorious MTG. Bush attempted to slip in an amendment to H.R. 1 that would have expanded the voting rights of violent convicted felons and make it more difficult for quality public officials to be elected. By putting the measure to a vote, Greene was able to kill the measure.[…] “I called for a roll call vote putting Congress on record to stop this dangerous legislation and prevent Democrats from hiding behind a voice vote. I will not allow America’s elections to be further corrupted by radical left-wing policies shoved down our throats,” she added. Greene’s full press release can be seen here: .

Nitberg: Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York says he’s ‘actively exploring’ a 2022 gubernatorial bid
“With his nursing home cover-up & abuse coming more to light, it’s clear #CuomosGottaGo. As a NYer, I can’t sit back as Cuomo attacks our freedoms, our wallets & our safety. After many msgs of encouragement & discussing w/ my fam, I’m actively exploring a 2022 run for Gov of NY,” Zeldin tweeted.

Lee: REDSTATE EXCLUSIVE: Meet Pete Snyder, The Man Many Believe Could Flip The Virginia Governor’s Mansion Back To Red
Pete Snyder had already made a name for himself in DC circles as owner of New Media Strategies, a social media marketing company he founded in 1999, before he decided to get a little more inside the political game by running in the Republican primary for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia in 2013. He lost that contest but was undeterred, chairing the 2017 campaign for Republican Ed Gillespie’s run for Virginia’s Governor.

WHEN THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RELINQUISHES CONTROL
Yang: The Danger of the Administrative State
Lockdowns should have shown every American just how tyrannical and unreasonable our leaders can be. There are elected leaders like Governor Cuomo who have acted as outright tyrants, alienating everyone, even those in his own party. Then there are the unelected bureaucrats who wave away our liberties with the stroke of a pen from the secrecy of their massive offices with technocratic efficiency. This is all of course a sudden and dramatic curtailing of our freedoms. I would not be surprised that with this much public attention, some sort of effort will be made to roll back much of what has been done. Although lockdowns are certainly an existential threat to our long-term freedoms and system of liberal democracy, there has been another specter out there that many experts have been sounding the alarm on for decades. The growth of the administrative state. The chilling narrative . . . […] The worst part about all of this is that society continues to tell itself that those in the administrative state are simply humble public servants.

FIGHTING FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY
Greenfield: Ballot Harvesting Ban Case Hits the Supreme Court
Where are we on voter integrity? Anyone expecting the Supreme Court to affirmatively protect voter integrity was kidding themselves. We’re far enough behind the ball that we’re hoping that the Supreme Court protects the rights of states to ban grotesque violations like ballot harvesting. It’s easy to spit and dismiss that out of hand, but if you want to imagine the political system being a whole lot closer to doomsday, preventing states from stopping ballot harvesting would do it. But there are also bigger stakes in the mix in Brnovich v. DNC. […] Brnovich v. DNC takes on a very basic issue.

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY
Ross: ‘Tailored To China’s Terms’: Fauci’s Deputy Had To Sign Beijing-Approved Confidentiality Form Before China Visit
A WHO technical officer informed Dr. Cliff Lane, the Fauci deputy, would have to sign a confidentiality form and a disclosure of interest approved by Chinese authorities, according to a Feb. 15, 2020, email. […] “These new emails show WHO and Fauci’s [National Institutes of Health] gave special accommodations to Chinese communist efforts to control information about COVID-19,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. It is not clear what restrictions Beijing included in its confidentiality forms. They were not included in the emails turned over by the government to Judicial Watch and the DCNF.

Winters: Biden State Dept Lead Says She SUPPORTS Chinese Propaganda In US Schools.
President Biden’s pick for Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs defended Chinese Communist Party-funded Confucius Institutes. Confucius Institutes, which are hosted at American universities, have been described by Chinese government officials as “an important part of China’s overseas propaganda set-up.”

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: FOREIGN POLICY
Thornton: Biden Returns to Obama’s Feckless Foreign Policy
It was said of the Roman generalissimo Sulla that there was no better friend or worse enemy than he. This maxim of foreign policy––support and help your loyal allies, and damage and punish your enemies––was proven common sense for millennia. Then came the age of moralizing internationalism, the belief that a “new world order” had made that realist truth anachronistic and primitive, a reflection of our benighted past. Now diplomatic engagement, democracy promotion, foreign aid, and multinational institution see to global security, peace, and prosperity. As a result, today there is no worse friend, and no better enemy than the West’s foreign policy and national security agencies. Our foreign policy establishment has long clung tightly to these outworn “new world order” narratives and paradigms despite the empirical evidence that such appeasing policies embolden and strengthen our enemies and convince them of our weakness. Exhibit number one . . .

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA
Jones: House Democrats Portray Senate Filibuster As a Racist Tool
Democrat leaders, explaining their intent to pass “bold” legislation that lacks Republican support, argued that the Senate filibuster is used to “undermine the rights of citizens of color in America,” as House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) put it. Following Hoyer to the microphone at Tuesday’s news conference, House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said if Republicans “use the filibuster to deny a minimum wage increase, it will be tantamount to using it to deny civil rights.”

WAYNE ROOT: The Communist Takeover of the United States- Part II
Now Obama can carry out his plan ruthlessly than he ever could when he was the first black president, and wanted to convince American voters he wasn’t “radical” or “extreme.” Back then, Obama had to move with caution. He had to “boil the frog slowly”- as I warned in my #1 national bestseller in 2013 “The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide.” All that is history. No more moving with caution. See Biden’s record-setting Executive Orders. They are as radical and Marxist as anything ever seen in America’s history. Obama is running the show. He is back to finish the job he started in 2008. Here in Part II, I will explain the actual plan. I learned it at Columbia University from 1979 to 1983. I was Obama’s college classmate at the Ivy League college where Marxism and the destruction of America was taught in every classroom. The plan was called Cloward-Piven, named after a husband-wife team of Columbia professors. Cloward and Piven created the perfect Marxist plan: get every American possible on welfare and other government handout programs, in order to overwhelm the system, bring the national debt to levels never imagined, bankrupt America, and bring business owners to their knees when the economy collapses. Then you’ve got a socialist country. I recognize . . .

PragerU: What Is Identity Socialism?
“The old socialism, the kind Karl Marx dreamed up, was all about the working class, the sort of blue-collar worker who, ironically, voted for President Trump,” explains D’Souza. “But today’s socialist couldn’t care less about the guy in the hardhat. He had his chance at revolution and blew it. Today’s socialist is all about race, gender and transgender rights. Class is an afterthought.” “To understand this is to understand the Left’s takeover of the college campus and all the ills that takeover has spawned: from MeToo to Black Lives Matter to girls competing against biological boys,” D’Souza continues. “We all live on campus now,” says D’Souza, quoting liberal writer Andrew Sullivan. “Campus culture has now metastasized into the culture of the whole society,” he states.

Kelly: As Trump Blasts 2020 Election, Democrats Move on a ‘Monster’ Election Bill
The bill has the support of more than 170 union, environmental, social justice, voters’ rights, and immigration groups as well as President Biden; it’s largely premised on the need to eliminate “systemic racism” from the nation’s voting systems. […] Election fraud deniers on the Right failed to grasp that last year’s debacle was a trial run. Now that establishment figures from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to the editors of National Review continue to dismiss allegations of election fraud as Trumpian conspiracy theories, Democrats, shrewdly describing election fraud as a “Big Lie,” are emboldened to get their way. (It will be amusing to watch those on the Right who defended the integrity of the election object to HR 1.)

Rev. Johnson: Xavier Becerra Would Destroy the First Amendment
If Xavier Becerra wins confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services, he will make history, because Becerra would likely become the first Cabinet secretary to believe the First Amendment does not grant churches the freedom of religion. Such an extreme view, endowed with the full power of the federal government, would vitiate the religious liberty of all Americans. For those tempted to dismiss this as a caricature of Becerra’s position, allow him to dispel that notion – under oath.

Munro: Joe Biden’s Deputies Set 2021 Goal of Welcoming 117,000 Migrant Youths
The White House has dramatically raised the number of migrant youths and children it expects to welcome into the United States’ economy this year. The new goal is 117,000 youths and children, up from the 30,000 “Unaccompanied Alien Children” (UAC) migrants who were brought to the border by coyotes during 2020, and well above the record inflow of 76,000 delivered in 2019. The goal of 117,000 was leaked to Axios as part of a media campaign in which administration officials argue they have no moral choice but to let the migrants into the United States.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN
(White: Democrat Party code for racist) Lifson: Meeting the threat of racist 3 month-old babies
We can all sleep more soundly now that the Arizona Department of Education is protecting the nation from the threat of racist 3-month-old babies. Christopher Rufo of City Journal tells the story in a series of tweets: SCOOP: The Arizona Department of Education has created an “equity” toolkit claiming that babies show the first signs of racism at three months old and that white children “remain strongly biased in favor of whiteness” by age five. Let’s review the resources in the toolkit.

Matt Beienburg: Schools ought to be teaching our founding principles
To understand what’s taking place, consider the Tucson Unified School District, which serves over 40,000 students and is one of the largest public school districts in Arizona. When TUSD released its “American Government Week 1” pandemic learning materials in 2020, the single stated learning objective read as follows: “Students will be able to: [identify] components of a well-functioning constitutional republic, including concepts such as democratic principles, constitutional rights, and human rights.” That’s a noble goal. Except that the learning guide’s two-page syllabus virtually ensures students can do anything but. For example, seven of the 11 vocabulary words deemed most essential to students’ grasp of the principles of America’s constitutional republic were “boycott,” “civil disobedience,” “Jim Crow,” “stand your ground,” “lynching,” “segregation,” and, perhaps most bizarrely, “COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program): a series of covert and, at times, illegal projects conducted by the US FBI aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting American political organizations & program[s].” […] TUSD is free to teach in its own way, but parents must have more than a one-time, fleeting glimpse of what’s actually tucked into their schools’ stated curriculum materials, the way they have with schoolchildren at home during the pandemic. That’s why the Goldwater Institute is supporting new academic transparency legislation in states such as Arizona. State Sen. Nancy Barto has sponsored SB 1058 to require schools to disclose fully, online, the content that’s actually going into children’s classroom learning so parents can see what’s being taught before they’re forced to make an enrollment decision.

FOR THE BOOMER GENERATION
Claremont Institute: Beauty and Brains
Hedy Lamarr was born to Jewish parents in Austria in 1914. She became an actress and married by the time she was 20. In 1937, she escaped her domineering husband and rising anti-Semitism in Europe, and made her way to America, where she became a Hollywood star celebrated as the most beautiful woman in the world. During WWII, in hopes of aiding America’s war effort, Hedy invented a technology that would eventually be used in cell phones, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. She had beauty and brains in spades.

INTERNATIONAL
Kern: Europe Divided Over Covid Passports
European leaders are considering a proposal to introduce a common EU-wide Coronavirus vaccination passport. The so-called Covid passports would permit those who have been vaccinated to travel freely within the European Union without the need for quarantining and testing.
The leaders of several European countries heavily dependent on tourism are pushing for Covid passports to be implemented with immediate effect. Others say that it is far too early to consider such a move, especially because the EU’s Coronavirus vaccine rollout has been dogged by delays and questions about the efficacy of certain vaccines, particularly in light of the virus’s new mutant strains. The idea of Covid passports has also sparked a heated debate over government overreach and the constitutionality and ethics of vaccine-related discrimination. At the same time, some EU member countries have threatened to act unilaterally and issue their own Covid passports if the EU fails to produce bloc-wide certification. In short, the Covid pandemic continues to expose fault lines within 27-member EU, which remains more divided than ever.
