Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), in a recent Newsmax interview, warned about the Democrat (H.R. 1) For the People Act: You don’t have a functioning First Amendment when only one side is allowed to talk. You don’t have real free speech rights when the left controls who gets to say what and when. So, that to me, is ultimately the biggest threat to freedom. If it becomes law, H.R. 1 would create a world where liberals can lie, but conservatives can’t expose the lies. They want to be able to lie about us, but we can’t tell the truth about them. That’s the world that House Bill One takes us to, and that’s what I think is the most frightening thing of all.

Kurt Schlichter contributor to Townhall: Donald Trump has been successfully banished by means of the most honest and legitimate election ever, according to important and smart people who would never lie to you and who have zero personal interest in reinforcing the power and position of their garbage Establishment. Gone along with him, thanks to the brave help of the social media overlords, is his ability to tweet. No more mean tweets people – think of it! Savor it. And forget everything else that is going on.

Larry Elder author, attorney ,and conservative talk radio host: Reparations is the extraction of money from people who were never slave owners to be given to people who were never slaves.

Denis McDonough V.A. Secretary ,when asked by Jake Tapper if he intends to keep the Trump policy that allows veterans to see private doctors, replied: There’s not an immediate decision to make about the standards question. The thing I’m focused on is, the law dictates that best medical outcome for the veteran dictate whether and where that veteran be allowed to get care. So, we’re going to make sure that we are driven by that, best medical outcome for our vets, first and foremost.

David-Wallace Wells, New York magazine, THE UNINHABITAL EARTH tweeted: A 2016 study found that 73 per cent of carbon credits provided little or no environmental gain, as they supported projects that would have happened anyway. That figure rose to 85 per cent of projects under the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Iran’s Supreme leader: Iran’s uranium enrichment level will not be limited to 20%. We will increase it to whatever level the country needs … We may increase it to 60%.

VDH: Losing An American Genius
Rush Limbaugh created modern national talk radio as we now know it—from nothing. For over three decades he kept at rapt attention weekdays—live from noon to three—the largest conservative audience in broadcast history. Over 15 million tuned in each week. Last week—32 years, and over 23,000 hours of on-air commentary after Rush went national in August 1988—he is gone, at 70 years young. By the 1990s he had become the voice—literally and iconically—of the conservative movement and its hot/cold liaisons with the Republican Party. Rush was hated by the Left because he was deadly effective in fighting them, and feared at times by the Republican establishment—because he could also be deadly effective in fighting them. […] Rush’s was a quintessential American success story. It is impossible to imagine any other country producing either him or his career. We are mourning for Rush, but also for ourselves, who are going to miss—and need—him more, not less, each day that he is now silent.

Bedford: ‘Blessings Of Liberty’: How ‘The Equality Act’ Viciously Attacks Christians, Freedom, Society, Sex, And You
“Have you been following this ‘Equality Act?’” a Catholic priest I know asked me as I passed him on the icy sidewalk early Sunday afternoon. “A bit,” I answered. “You can be sure anything that comes out of D.C. does the opposite of its name.” “Check it out today,” he replied. “It could pass as early as this week, and it’s very, very troubling.” The two of us went our ways, carefully navigating the icy bricks back to the safety of our homes. The monsignor was right, of course. If the Equality Act passes, he won’t be safe in his home much longer, nor will women be safe in their sports, nor their restrooms and locker rooms, the nail salons they work in, nor even shelters from homelessness and abuse. The act, which the House is expected to pass for the second time in nine months on Thursday before sending it to a now-Democratic Senate, opens up swinging on Christian (as well as most religions’) concepts of morality in marriage, sex, and identity. It would strike biological sex from the 1964 Civil Rights Act, replacing it with “sexual orientation and gender identity.” Belief in traditional marriage, the act would legislate, is a specific example of illegal discrimination.

Chang: Biden: It’s Okay to Finance China’s Military
Wall Street wants to finance the enemy, and the Biden administration is opening the door wide. How can this be? On January 26, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued General License No. 1A, which permits Americans to continue acquiring shares in certain companies associated with “Communist Chinese Military Companies,” known as CCMCs, until May 27. The previous deadline, set by the Trump administration, was January 28. The General License delayed a portion of the application of President Trump’s landmark Executive Order 13959, issued November 12, 2020. EO13959 stopped investors, subject to wind-down provisions, from purchasing or possessing shares in any company designated a CCMC. In short, Trump ordered Americans to stop financing China’s military, the People’s Liberation Army. […] The Biden administration is allowing Wall Street to use the cash of “scores of millions, up to 160 million Americans” to “fund ICBMs targeting their families, to fund concentration camps in Xinjiang.” Most Americans will have no idea their retirement and other savings are being used to finance their own destruction…. financing China’s war on America.

Vespa: Wait…These Are the Top Three Concerns for Democratic Voters? Yes, It’s Insane.
It shouldn’t shock us, but here we are again, folks. We can think Democrats can’t be this dense, but they always find ways to amaze, don’t they? If you could guess what the top three issues Democratic voters are most concerned with what would you pick? Climate change? The economy? Taxes? Nope. It’s . . . […] It’s indicative of the Democrats’ changing party base. It’s richer, more educated, coastal, and urban-based. The professional elites have taken over and it shows. Their problems…aren’t really problems. They’re not. White liberal problems and their solutions won’t help America. It’s only meant to stroke their self-centered and shallow interests. This is also a problem for the communities of color who have backed Democrats for decades. Rich white liberals give at disproportionate levels to the party. They’re the ones who fill the coffers. It’ll be their phone calls that are returned. The black community will once again . . .

Root: Meet the New President of the United States….Barack Obama
I’ve written thousands of columns and commentaries. This is the most important I’ve ever written. This is my chance to play the modern-day Paul Revere. “The commies are coming. The commies are coming.” Yes, I am reporting a communist takeover. But the leader of this attack is not who it appears to be. Republicans, conservatives and capitalists are sick right about now. We’re in shock. We can’t believe Donald Trump is no longer president. We can’t believe Americans voted against the greatest economy — perhaps in history — the greatest jobs picture ever, the greatest improvement in middle-class incomes ever and the greatest economic comeback ever, which Trump produced after the COVID-19 lockdown and economic collapse. Remember 33% gross domestic product in Q3 2020? That was the biggest number in history. Who would vote against all that? You’d have to be self-hating and suicidal. […] Trust me, I was Obama’s classmate at Columbia University. I know how he thinks. I understand his plan. This has Obama’s fingerprints all over it. This is the Cloward-Piven plan we learned about at Columbia almost 40 years ago.

Zanotti: Texas Judge Bans Enforcement Of Biden 100-Day Deportation Freeze ‘Indefinitely’
A Texas judge issued a stunning blow to the Biden administration Wednesday, “indefinitely” enjoining the White House from enforcing the president’s executive order declaring a 100-day moratorium on deportations. As The Daily Wire reported Tuesday, the same federal judge, Judge Drew Tipton, already issued a temporary ban on enforcing President Joe Biden’s executive order, noting that the administration failed “to provide any concrete, reasonable justification for a 100-day pause on deportations.”

Berry: Xavier Becerra Refused to Name Even One Abortion Restriction He Could Support
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra refused to answer questions about his radical pro-abortion views during his Senate confirmation hearing Wednesday and could not name even one abortion restriction he could support. Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) asked Becerra, President Joe Biden’s nominee for secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), whether he supported any restriction whatsoever on abortions, including those intended to end the life of babies with a prenatal disability diagnosis of Down syndrome or partial-birth abortions. […] National pro-life leader Kristan Hawkins also reacted to Becerra’s remarks in a statement sent to Breitbart News. “If you can’t name ANY limits for abortion, you’re too radical to run the nation’s health care,” said the Students for Life Action president. She continued: . . .

Jeffrey: Becerra Won’t Say If Baby Killed in a Late-Term Abortion Should Be Given Anesthesia to Lessen His or Her Pain
California Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra, who President Joe Biden has nominated to be the secretary of Health and Human Services, dodged a question at his confirmation hearing today about whether he believed an unborn child who is targeted for a late-term abortion should be given anesthesia to minimize the pain the child will suffer. Sen. Charles Grassley (R.-Iowa) asked Becerra the question.

Raleigh: Biden’s Foreign Policy Is Obama All Over Again: Empowering Our Enemies At Our Expense
From the South China Sea to the Middle East, Obama weakened U.S. global leadership, accelerated American decline, and alienated some of our most important allies while empowering our rivals. It seems President Biden is determined to retake the same path as his former boss, which will no doubt strengthen antagonists to American interests at the expense of peace and security of the United States and our allies.

Solomon: Biden climate policy on track to punish blue-collar America, prop up Putin, experts warn
In former President Donald Trump’s final month in office, the United States achieved something it hadn’t in more than a generation: In the final week of December, America didn’t import a single drop of crude oil from Saudi Arabia for the first time in 35 years. For many, it was a testament to Trump’s America-first energy policy, which prioritized reliance on domestic production and drove global crude prices down below $50 a barrel for most of 2020 and U.S. gasoline prices to an average of about $2.30 in December. The low prices throughout 2020 also crimped Russia’s energy-dependent economy, leading to greater unrest in Moscow. Now, a month into the Biden presidency, crude has jumped to $65 a barrel and U.S. gasoline to $2.72 per gallon due to a variety of geopolitical events. Economists and energy-state lawmakers alike fear it will continue to rise as the real impact of Democratic climate change regulation begins to be felt.

Obama: ‘Politics Of White Resistance’ Prevented Administration From Pursuing Reparations
Former President Barack Obama told his podcast co-host, Bruce Springsteen, that he would have liked to pursue reparations for slavery as part of his presidential agenda, but that the “politics of white resistance” made the issue a “non-starter.” Obama and Springsteen recently launched a podcast together where the pair discuss how to pursue “unity” among Americans and forge friendships across party, class, and racial lines. The podcast is billed as two friends from polar opposite backgrounds coming together — Springsteen from a working-class New Jersey upbringing and Obama from a childhood spent in Hawaii and later, in Chicago — but both Springsteen and Obama are now wealthy Democrats.

Elder: The Case Against Reparations: Part 1
Last week, I testified before the House Committee on the Judiciary’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties regarding H.R. 40: Examining the Path to Reparative Justice in America. In other words, reparations. This is the first part of the statement I submitted: . . . .It is also interesting that we are having this hearing at a time when racism as a barrier to success has never been so insignificant. In 1991, Black Democrat and Harvard sociologist Orlando Patterson said: “The sociological truths are that America, while still flawed in its race relations and its stubborn refusal to institute a rational, universal welfare system, is now the least racist white-majority society in the world; has a better record of legal protection of minorities than any other society, white or Black; offers more opportunities to a greater number of Black persons than any other society, including all those of Africa.”

Rosenbaum: The Rise of Anti-Merit: Objective Criteria Goes by the Wayside in Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives at Chicago Companies
Based on interviews with private sector leaders across the manufacturing and professional services industries, The Chicago Contrarian senses a radical shift in hiring and promotion policies in Chicagoland companies. 2021 has thrown “merit to the periphery,” creating what one local executive describes as “the rise of woke nepotism” in hiring and promotion. This is a dramatic shift. […] . . . “No longer are larger professional organizations (banks, consultancies, law firms, etc.) taking affirmative action by ensuring a diverse candidate pool and having a ‘tie goes to the winner’ approach for diverse candidates. Rather, they have replaced this with a ‘woke’ model which actively discriminates against candidates who do not meet specific identity-oriented criteria.” She “finds it abhorrent” that companies can get away with behavior which is likely “illegal.” In other words: “Forget if you are a qualified first generation Polish or Ukrainian white male immigrant grew up on the Northwest side, whose parents did not go to college but worked in the skilled trades, or a downstate white male, whose parents held menial jobs and couldn’t pay for basic necessities. If you’re a white male, you don’t tick any of the boxes, . . . […] In other words, “merit-based” criteria for hiring and promotion is taking a back seat to whether someone has a black, brown or female face (or ideally two of the three). […] Animal Farm meets Chicago business. Coerced and discriminatory hiring practices have roots in critical race theory as our colleagues have previously penned . . .

Prager: The Denial of Evil
But there is something people deny more than mortality: evil. Someone should write a book on the denial of evil; that would be much more important because while we cannot prevent death, we can prevent evil. The most glaring example of the denial of evil is communism, an ideology that, within a period of only 60 years, created modern totalitarianism and deprived of human rights, tortured, starved and killed more people than any other ideology in history. Why people ignore, or even deny, communist evil is the subject of a previous column as well as a Prager University video, “Why Isn’t Communism as Hated as Nazism?” I will, therefore, not address that question here. I will simply lay out the facts. But before I do, I need to address another question: Why is it important that everyone know what communism did? Here are three reasons: . .

Sexton: Tucker Carlson, BLM And The Admission In Philip Bump’s Latest Piece
Public policy can change dramatically on the basis of things people think they know but don’t actually know, and we have seen that, a lot. Entire police departments got defunded. So it’s worth finding out where the public is getting all this false information — this ‘disinformation,’ as we’ll call it. So we checked. We spent all day trying to locate the famous QAnon, which in the end we learned is not even a website. If it’s out there, we could not find it. Then we checked Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Twitter feed because we have heard she traffics in misinformation, CNN told us. But nothing there. Next we called our many friends in the tightknit ‘intel community.’ Could Vladimir Putin be putting this stuff out there? The Proud Boys? Alex Jones? Who is lying to America in ways that are certain to make us hate each other and certain to destroy our core institutions? Well, none of the above, actually. It wasn’t Marjorie Taylor Greene. It was cable news. It was politicians talking on TV. They’re the ones spreading disinformation to Americans. Maybe they’re from QAnon.

Edmunds: ‘We’re Toast’: How today’s children are being trained to be tomorrow’s serfs
Man, this Corona pandemic is a real headache. Who’d have thought a year ago we’d all be working from home, trying to get our kids to attend class via Zoom, huh? Crazy world we live in. I sure hope it’s over soon. It will be when everyone’s vaccinated. In the meantime, while we wait, here’s a funny, cutesy video to watch about the time a teacher ‘accidentally’ dropped off the Zoom call in the middle of class and all the kids start to chatter, before one of them notices the session is being recorded. “We’re toast.” another observes. Kids do say the darnedest things. Except, that kid is right. The next generation is toast. This isn’t a funny video of kids being sweet, it’s social engineering in action. This is how you create a serf generation: you sit them down in front of the computer for hours every day, then condition them to believe that they’re being watched at all times, even when there’s apparently no one around. This is actually pretty terrifying.

O’Neil: Biden HHS Nominee Defended Subjecting Kids to Chemical Castration
Pennsylvania Health Secretary Rachel Levine (born Richard Levine), President Joe Biden’s pick for assistant secretary of health at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has long defended experimental transgender “treatments” for children. Levine, who identifies as transgender, has refused to say whether or not he has undergone medical interventions for his own gender identity, telling The Washington Post in 2016 that such “treatment” is a private matter. Levine, a pediatrician who worked at Penn State Hersey Medical Center from 1993 to 2015 and who teaches pediatrics and psychology at Penn State College of Medicine, has given lectures on how to perform sex changes on children since at least 2012, The National Pulse reported. In 2014, Levine argued that adults should give children latitude to choose their genders. He coached adults, “try not to force them one way or [the] other.”
