Emotionally and rationally, there is not a single person in this country that wouldn’t do almost anything to prevent another massacre of children. The real question to ask is simply this: would any action or new law being currently suggested have prevented these shootings? Doing nothing feels insensitive while imposing new gun regulations restricts our second amendment rights and that is the conundrum that is facing all Americans. At a time like this, it is best to err on the side of doing nothing as most quick actions will likely yield very poor outcomes. Let’s examine some of the less sensical choices:

The Supreme Court added to its calendar on Monday an additional release of opinions scheduled for this week, including potentially the decision that could overturn Roe v. Wade. With 30 opinions still not issued in the final weeks of the term, several will now drop on Wednesday, according to an update on the high court’s website. While June is always a hectic time at the Supreme Court, this year is different as the nine justices reshape social issues – like abortion – and scramble to salvage the federal Judicial branch’s legitimacy after the leak last month. Nationwide chaos ensued in early May after Politico published a leaked copy of a draft opinion showing the 6-3 conservative court overturning Roe v. Wade – the 1973 case that made abortion legal at the federal level. The court released three opinions already on Monday morning.

The case brought by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association before the Supreme Court presents the following, limited issue: “Whether the State’s denial of petitioners’ applications for concealed-carry licenses for self-defense violated the Second Amendment.” That’s a pretty tight question. Yet, the Court has taken six full months to rule on a case that, on its face, is a complete no-brainer. What’s taking all the time? We already know that, as the Supreme Court said in Heller, the militia is every able-bodied male able to bear arms, and the term “well regulated” simply means “properly disciplined and trained.” Further, the statute exists to guarantee the security of a free people, not the government. So, what’s up? Is Justice Thomas finally going to wrestle the Second Amendment from its perpetually disfavored status?

Last September, President Joe Biden directed the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) to draft a vaccine mandate for around 17 million healthcare workers at medical facilities that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding, without an option for workers to submit to regular COVID testing instead. LyondellBasell announced in April that it would shut the refinery by 2024 due to the heavy financial burden of upgrading its more than 100-year-old infrastructure, Barron’s reported at the time. “The company determined that exiting the refining business, by the end of next year, is the best strategic and financial path forward,” the company added in its statement to TheDCNF. Jim Banks (Ind.), Claudia Tenney (N.Y.), and Joe Wilson (S.C.)—also want to know if Meta is investigating claims that Instagram, the video sharing app owned by the company, has “been infiltrated by those sympathetic to the Islamic Republic in Iran.”

The insurance company ended its partnership with GenderCool only after Consumers’ Research exposed it, the Washington Free Beacon reported last month. Consumers’ Research executive director Will Hild said that merely ending the partnership is not enough. “They owe their customers, agents, and parents everywhere real answers and a plan of action,” Hild said. State Farm is just one of many U.S. companies and elite organizations, including Disney and top law firms, to take left-wing positions on transgenderism and sexuality. Consumers’ Research says that Nike, BlackRock, and American Airlines also profess “woke politics.”

As one of the “stars” of the movie—I am the mysterious man “with a British accent” noted by Newsweek in its discussion of the trailer—I have been following the media response closely. […] The focus on the supposedly homoerotic aspects of the trailer came at the expense of the very serious message of the documentary. The trailer focuses on a simple set of premises with huge implications. Sperm counts and testosterone levels have been plummeting in the West for decades, portending a reproductive and moral collapse with which we have yet to reckon. Judicial Watch announced today that it received 2369 pages of records from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) revealing over two dozen cases where research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid (r/sNA) molecules was conducted in America without proper approval and in violation of NIH guidelines. NIH guidelines detail safety practices and containment procedures for basic and clinical research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules – including the creation and use of organisms and viruses containing recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules. These guidelines require that any significant problems, violations, or any significant research-related accidents and illnesses be reported to NIH within 30 days. The documents further showed that the research, which occurred at Biosafety Level 1/2/3 laboratories, led to dozens of dangerous mishaps, accidents, and spills.
