NOTABLE QUOTES

David Horowitz: All self-styled revolutionaries are criminals in the making.

Sharyl Attkisson investigative journalist whose computer was hacked by US intelligence wrote:  Many scientists who have studied the Omicron virus believe that the fast-spreading COVID variant was mistakenly or perhaps purposefully released from a lab.

Paul Gottfried contributor to American Greatness: Are we to pretend that those who vote for race-baiters and unhinged antifascists are not really voting? They are simply the victims of malign forces that bring to power leftist demagogues and crazed social engineers despite the “people”? Although it may be convenient to nurture that fantasy, real majorities often elect utterly loathsome governments, and few of these electoral victories bear comparison to the manipulated outcomes that take place in Third World countries. I’m also not willing to give these voters the benefit of the doubt because they have been under the influence of lying media. Although the leftist media lie through their teeth, one might expect that adults at some point would notice. But even if they don’t, I see no reason to treat voters as the helpless victims of their own choices. Truth is, they are getting the leadership they deserve. And they are suffering the consequences they brought on themselves.

Robert Downey Jr, contributor to TownHall: As I’ve reported, 67% of mass shooters are black. Most people don’t realize that fact because the Pravda press perpetuates the myth that mass shooters are white dudes who got fired from Denny’s. . . . This is how it works: the Democrats let criminals out of jail and then got rid of bail laws to keep them out. They defunded police departments nationwide. Criminals do what criminals do: they shoot people. When there is a mass shooting, Democrats say, “Look! Another mass shooting! Let’s take guns from law-abiding people!” And before the bodies in Sacramento were cold, Gropey Joe Biden started talking about grabbing guns.

Carina Benton contributor to The Federalist: The obscene obsession with hypersexualizing children that exploded about two years ago needs to be understood in the context of the left’s wider agenda to promote moral relativism and sexual deviance, a campaign they have been gaslighting Americans into accepting as “progressive.” Decades ago, Marxists ditched class warfare and economics in favor of sexual politics and culture as a vehicle for executing revolution. Ever since, they have been shrewdly redefining marriage, family, sexuality, and gender, to the point where “tolerance” and “diversity” now means foisting porn, perversion, and predators on our families. Those who won’t stand for it are cunningly condemned as bigots.

Bruce Thornton contributor to Frontpage Magazine: This assault on childhood innocence in the name of “tolerance” and identity-politics activism marks a dangerous escalation in the decades-long ideological transformation of sexual mores away from common sense, faith, and traditional morality. This escalation puts at risk children’s sexual development and psychological health by exposing them to materials and information they are not ready for, while sidelining parents’ responsibility and right to oversee this vulnerable period in their children’s lives.

Bonchie contributor to RedState: For a man who claims to always be guided by principle, this sure is an unprincipled move. Romney claims to be against abortion, yet he’s voting to confirm someone who will be a rubber stamp for the continued killing of children in the womb. Romney claims to care about individual rights, yet he’s voting to confirm someone who refuses to even state they exist. There’s nothing conservative about that.

Pedro Gonzalez contributor to Chronicles: For all their talk about family values, Republican politicians are reluctant to act. Three of them—Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and State Rep. Dade Phelan—took a combined $2.47 million in campaign funds from political action committees affiliated with pediatric gender-modification clinics, according to an analysis of Transparency USA campaign finance records by Katy Christian Magazine. The three later helped kill bills that would have prohibited the gender modification that goes on at such clinics.

Ryan T. Anderson, Ph.D. contributor to Heritage.org: . . . the American Psychological Association, in a pamphlet titled “Answers to Your Questions about Transgender People, Gender Identity, and Gender Expression,” tells us, “Transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth.” Notice the politicized language: A person’s sex is “assigned at birth.” Back in 2005, even the Human Rights Campaign referred instead to “birth sex” and “physical sex.” The phrase “sex assigned at birth” is now favored because it makes room for “gender identity” as the real basis of a person’s sex.

Tim Goeglein  contributor to The Federalist: If we are going to restore community in America, one of the first places to start is to get people back to houses of worship, instead of watching sermons on TV or not attending. Such a community changes the shape and form of our social priorities and focus — from self to selfless — as we become connected with others in the common bond of faith.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) tweeted: “Now that @ElonMusk is Twitter’s largest shareholder, it’s time to lift the political censorship. Oh… and BRING BACK TRUMP!”

Spencer: Trump Reveals His Plan to Reverse the Damage of the Biden Years
“When I watch to see what’s happening,” Donald Trump said Tuesday with uncharacteristic understatement, “it’s very, very sad. I mean, our country is being destroyed by these people. The border is a disaster. We [are] no longer respected. They don’t respect our leader at all. They don’t respect Biden at all.” Trump did not, however, simply assess our current predicament; he also offered hope for the future: “It’s so sad to see what’s happened to our great USA. But we can come back. I think these midterms are vital, just vital.” And even beyond the midterms, Trump detailed how the devastation that Biden’s handlers have wrought upon the country can be turned around if the Left’s stranglehold on power can be broken. “The system,” Trump noted, “is totally broken. Our system is broken. And we’re going into socialism. And we’re going into communism.” But if patriotic America-First politicians regain control, the economy can be righted, primarily by tackling inflation: “We have to straighten out inflation, which we can do much easier than people know,” Trump said, explaining that if energy costs were lowered, the rest would follow: “If energy comes down, it’s so important. Other parts of inflation are coming down too. I was saying today, ‘I read where food is going to make energy look like it’s a good deal, that the food prices are going to go up much more very soon, much more than the energy prices.’” But if American energy independence were restored, the beneficial effect would reverberate through the entire economy. As for the free-for-all at the border, Trump says . . .

Hoft: EXCLUSIVE: DEMOCRATS IMPLICATED — Georgia Ballot Traffickers Were Using Democrat Officials’ Offices as Stopping Points During Ballot Drop Runs
During the interview, Charlie Kirk says he spent time with Dinesh D’Souza the producer of “2000 Mules.” Charlie then dropped this bomb. Charlie Kirk: You have the surveillance video that Dinesh is using in his upcoming movie where people are coming out of the car with piles of ballots. Illegal. You cannot do that in Georgia. Stuffing them into ballot boxes funded by Mark Zuckerberg… Coming night after night after night, the same guys. They’re wearing latex gloves on camera, after they put the ballots in the drop boxes they take off the latex gloves because they don’t want fingerprints on the ballots and they take pictures of every ballot. And you’ll see this video footage. I had a six-hour meeting with Dinesh D’Souza and I saw all the evidence for myself. I was really skeptical at first and we dove into it. And I was blown away at how

Gottfried: Getting the Kind of Government We Deserve?
A bad habit on the establishment Right, here and in other Western countries, is to treat those who have made disastrous electoral decisions as victims. If the choices made by these “victims” turn out badly, as they have in the cases of numerous municipal governments and blue states and with the election of Joe Biden, conservatives carefully avoid accusing the voters. Apparently high crime rates, unnecessary lockdowns, goofy LGBTQ+, antiwhite measures, and galloping inflation should not be pinned on those who cast electoral ballots. If eligible voters in heavily black urban areas endorse corrupt politicians who thrive by playing the race card and ignore rising crime rates, the fault, we are led to believe, is entirely with those who have been elected. The stigma belongs to politicians who have betrayed the “people,” although a majority of the “people” dutifully voted for them. Are we to think that those who have voted more than once for Maxine Waters, Kweisi Mfume, and Bill de Blasio or who ran in droves to rescue Gavin Newsom in the California recall election last year are simply the hapless victims of evil politicians?

SCOTUS

Collins, Romney and Murkowski all Affirm Their Vote to Support Supreme Court Nomination of Ketanji Brown-Jackson
Once you know how to spot the strings on the DC marionettes, the puppet show becomes predictable.  KBJ was always going to be on the supreme court if Joe Biden was installed as president. However, that said, in absolute affirmation of their UniParty ideology, the usual suspects have once again shown up to display their positions:WASHINGTON DC – In a 53-47 vote, the Senate voted to advance Jackson’s nomination out of committee, with Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Mitt Romney (R-Utah) joining all 50 members of the Democratic caucus in supporting Biden’s high court pick. All three of those senators have now said they will support Jackson’s confirmation to the high court. (link)

Erler: Supreme Court Upholds Equality in the Voting Rights Act, But Not Equity in Voting
The Court wisely overturned a dubious and racialized distortion of the Constitution. On his first day in office, Joe Biden signed an executive order mandating that all executive agencies of the federal government adopt policies to implement “an ambitious whole-of-government equity agenda.” This “agenda” is necessary, Biden said, because, while “equal opportunity is the bedrock of American democracy,” the “American Dream remains out of reach” for “too many.” Systemic racism remains stubbornly entrenched in “our laws and public policies, and in our public and private institutions.” Equal opportunity can no longer be depended on to serve the cause of justice. We need a more robust and aggressive policy to defeat systemic racism. White supremacy cannot be defeated by equality. Racial and ethnic preferences must be advanced openly, without the fraudulent disguises of the past. Goals, timetables, remedies for historical injuries that will end when the “playing field is level” were all unnecessary excuses for racial class entitlements. Equity makes excuses superfluous. Racial class, ethnic class, sex class, orientation class, and a host of other class distinctions, real or imagined, can now advance equitable claims that need no justification. […]  The decision in the case was per curiam with two dissenters, Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elana Kagan. The 7-2 majority decision was solid, rehearsing a long line of precedents upholding strict scrutiny analysis for any reapportionment decisions based predominantly on race or ethnicity. Equity will not be coming to the Supreme Court any time soon.

Totenberg: Supreme Court makes it easier to sue the police for malicious prosecution
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday made it easier to sue police and prosecutors for malicious prosecution. But the decision still leaves in place other barriers to such lawsuits. At the center of the ruling is a case of diaper rash. Yes, diaper rash. Larry Thompson was living with his then fiancée (now wife) and their newborn baby when his sister-in-law, who apparently suffered from mental illness, called 911, claiming that Thompson was abusing the baby. When EMT officers arrived, they were admitted to the apartment by the sister-in-law, but Thompson, unaware of her 911 call, told them they must have the wrong address. The EMT officers left, but returned to the apartment with four New York City police officers. This time Thompson answered the door and refused to admit them unless they had a search warrant. The police then threw Thompson on the floor and handcuffed him while the EMTs examined the baby. The only marks they found were diaper rash, but the baby was taken to the hospital where the diaper rash diagnosis was confirmed.

JUDICIARY

Piper: Appeals court upholds $31 million judgment against Oberlin for helping students defame bakery
Midwest hotbed of progressive activism must pay a family-owned bakery $31 million for promoting defamatory claims, including that the bakery has a history of racially profiling and discriminating against college students and “assault[ed]” a black student. Ohio’s 9th Judicial District Court of Appeals refused to vacate a $25 million judgment against Oberlin College, or $6 million in attorney’s fees for Gibson’s Bakery. […]  The NAACP characterized the trial ruling as an attack on civil rights. Media organizations and free speech groups said it would have chilling effects, especially on the First Amendment rights of students.
The appeals court alluded to those claims in the Friday ruling, but said the case had nothing to do with students’ First Amendment rights. […]  President Carmen Ambar told alumni it didn’t apologize to the Gibsons so as not to offend students, and its Board of Trustees, newly helmed by a longtime director for financier George Soros, retained a pricey D.C. law firm to appeal.

SECOND AMENDMENT

Downey, Jr.: Like True Commies, the Democrats Create Crime Then Use Crime Stats to Take Our Guns
Democrats love mass shootings. It’s their best chance at taking away our guns. We saw it happen in Australia back in 1996 when some wackjob killed 35 people and Australians HANDED OVER THEIR firearms — 700,000 or so to be exact, because, you know, safety, I guess…? As you have probably heard, a mass shooting in Sacramento, Calif., left six people dead and 15 more wounded. The story isn’t getting a ton of traction because the shooter is most likely not Muslim or white. The media loves when the shooter is a Muslim because terror attacks keep people focused on the news. Lefty media will drag out a mass shooting when the shooter is white because it backs up the lie that most mass shooters are angry, drooling white guys in NRA hats. […]  Democrats will be the first people to scream that there were 693 mass shootings in 2021. What they won’t tell you is 1) . . . 2) . . . FIRST AMENDMENT

Peterson: Beware: Anti-Big Tech Legislation Has a Free-Speech Poison Pill
Superficially, Big Tech is one of the only issues where the right and left of America have some degree of unity: Both dislike Big Tech’s sheer power and would prefer to scale it back. As a result, there is a good chance that two antitrust bills currently under consideration in Congress will actually pass, instead of going nowhere like the vast majority of legislation. One bill recently passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, with enough Republican support to be actually bipartisan (as opposed to the fake bipartisanship where two Republicans join a political purge targeted at their own party). But Americans should not be misled. These two bills are highly flawed, and unless they are improved before passage, instead of fixing the censorship threat of Big Tech they would make it more robust than ever before. The Open App Markets Act is supposed to break the power of the Apple and Google app stores, which near exclusive control over access to iPhone and Android devices. Right now, Apple prevents . . . […]  The American Innovation and Choice Online Act (AICOA), is much broader. This bill would ban . . . […]  So the bills will weaken Amazon, Google, and Apple. What isn’t to love? Sadly, a lot. Just because a bill is bad for certain tech monopolies doesn’t mean it is good for Americans. The big winners of these bills won’t be ordinary Americans, small businesses, or bold news startups like Revolver News. The big winners are, in fact, other tech behemoths that aren’t quite monopolists themselves. The biggest backers of the Open App Markets Act, for instance, . . .

GOVERNEMNT HAS SEIZED CONTROL OF HOSPITALS

Smith: My Nightmare Experience With Cruel, Fascistic Covid Policies at a California Hospital
Editor’s Note: The following was written under a pseudonym for fear of reprisals against the author’s ailing mother. I write the following to share my deplorable experiences at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, a hospital in Visalia, Calif., and because I’m convinced most Americans have no clue of the fascistic, cruel, and inhumane policies still being enacted in the name of “Covid-19.” My elderly mother is and has been immensely sick for quite some time. She is also suffering from dementia, especially when she gets hospitalized. That said, I am intentionally being vague concerning her condition, as I wouldn’t want the hospital to figure out who she is and possibly “reprimand” her due to this article. Yes, I think some of the workers there are actually capable of that. On the other hand, I’m not overly concerned that they’ll be able to identify me. All one needs to do is look at the terrible reviews that hospital gets, most of them from people who had the very same experiences I’m about to relate, to realize that these incidents are a dime a dozen. About a month back, she was taken to the emergency room at Kaweah, in critical condition. I have two siblings, a brother and a sister. None of us are vaccinated. My brother lives in the same city, Visalia, but was out of town. My sister lives five hours from Visalia, and I live three hours away. My sister was first to arrive.  Once at Kaweah, she was asked either to show a vaccine card or a negative Covid test. She had neither. So, and despite my mother’s critical condition, she was denied entry and told to go take a test. As she’s not too familiar with Visalia, she asked where she could take a test and was given a paper that lists several local places. She called them, one by one. Each went to a voicemail that said, and to paraphrase, “Due to volume, we are not offering any more Covid tests at this time.” (Later on, I also tried those numbers and got the same result.)

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON CHILDREN

Gonzalez: Trans Tyranny in Public Schools
Schools across the country have adopted a controversial policy of hiding the LGBT statuses of students from their parents. Sold to the public as an effort to protect children from abuse, the policy effectively circumvents parental consent and notification about their children’s health, safety, and well-being.
One Texas family told Chronicles how they fought to protect their children from transgender ideology. After finding out that staff of a public school had encouraged their daughter to transition to a male gender, they withdrew their children from the school. But that wasn’t the end of the story. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) came knocking at their door, demanding to conduct a safety assessment of their family environment. In telling us his family’s story, the father, who we’ll call John, asked Chronicles to protect their identities, for fear of retaliation. He gave Chronicles copies of all the documents he received and sent to DFPS during the agency’s investigation. What John and his family experienced is the result of a countrywide effort to push through schools radical ideas about sex and gender to influence children at their most vulnerable developmental stages. Even more sinister, their story shows how the enforcement arm of the government is being used to punish and harass those who resist. A war for the hearts, minds, and bodies of America’s children, which can often result in devastating and irreversible consequences—is being waged in every state, red or blue, and there is no opting out of the conflict.

Thornton: The Magic Kingdom Supports Sexualizing Childhood
This episode highlights several cultural and political developments that have been going on for many decades. The attempt to usurp parents’ right to raise their kids according to their morality and principles reflects the progressive technocratic hubris that they, rather than families or churches, are better suited for properly raising and educating children. The irony is, it hasn’t been science that supports that claim, but scientism: disciplines like psychology and sociology that oversimplify human nature and motivation, and impose ideologically loaded paradigms and practices on public schools. The consequences have been the concentration of power in government agencies that create laws and regulations reflecting these ideological and political biases; and the subsequent constriction of citizens’ freedom to manage their personal lives according to their beliefs, morality, and principles. Moreover, this usurpation of parental authority and agency serves a broader political agenda: weakening our political order of unalienable rights, separated powers, and state sovereignty that were created to thwart such concentrated intrusive power.

Jones: Judge Jackson: ‘I Do Not Hold a Position on Whether Individuals Possess Natural Rights’
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, in response to written questions, has told the Senate she does not hold a position on whether individuals have natural rights that come from God, not the law. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), a member of the Judiciary Committee that will vote on Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court, told a hearing on Monday that Jackson took a pass on that important question: . . .

Daley: Ketanji Brown Jackson Wanted to Empty Jails at Start of Pandemic
Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson said in the early days of the pandemic it would be “reasonable” to release “each and every” person in District of Columbia jails, and she went on to grant COVID-related releases to defendants and inmates implicated in serious crimes. In the early days of the pandemic, Judge Jackson made a passionate appeal on behalf of inmates in Washington, D.C., jails and said pandemic conditions could justify releasing them. […]  In one instance, Jackson granted pretrial release to a defendant allegedly involved in a deadly fentanyl-trafficking ring, requiring only that he comply with a 10 p.m. curfew. In another case, she released an inmate with multiple bank robbery convictions. Prosecutors opposed both moves.

CNSNews Staff: House-Passed Pot Bill: ‘No Indecent or Immoral Picture…Shall Be…Printed on Any Package of Cannabis’
The marijuana-legalization bill that passed the House of Representatives on Friday includes a section that makes it illegal to print an “indecent or immoral picture” on a package of cannabis that is offered for sale. On April 1, the House voted 220 to 204 to pass H.R. 3617, the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act (MORE Act), which is sponsored by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D.-N.Y.) Only 3 Republican House members voted for the act and only 2 Democrats voted against it.

“We are ultimately going to wave the white flag of surrender,” said Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, during a briefing of House Republicans. “The cartels are going to control our borders. “They’re going to create gaps in our coverage and going to cross more of their drugs, their fentanyl — and more of our U.S. citizens are going to die simply because this administration doesn’t want to give the proper policies to protect U.S. citizens.”

McCotter: GAS PRICES: DEMOCRATS’ UNTRUTHS AND CONSEQUENCES
Per Kerry Picket of The Washington Times, the House Republicans’ National Congressional Campaign Committee (NRCC) has produced a new digital ad giving credit where credit is due: “Joe Biden’s war on American energy began the second he took power, and now American consumers are paying the price,” Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said in a statement. “The blame for record-high gas prices lies solely at the feet of Joe Biden and House Democrats.” Further, per Picket’s article, among the injurious policies pursued by Mr. Biden and the Democrats are: “slow-rolling oil and gas permits, canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline, banning new oil and gas leases on federal lands, halting new federal support for oil and gas projects overseas, and suspending oil drilling leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).” That the GOP’s energy message will resonate with voters is indicated by both the poll respondents and by the response of the Democratic Party, itself. Regarding the latter, The Hill reported upon the Democrats’ strategy to evade the consequences of their energy policy.

Osburn: Biden Administration To Demand Colleges Erase Women’s Sports, Due Process, Free Speech, And Men And Women
President Joe Biden’s Department of Education is expected to finalize changes to Title IX rules in the coming weeks to expand the definition of discrimination beyond sex to also include sexual orientation and gender identity.
The rule changes will have seismic implications, setting off not just state versus federal showdowns over state laws barring biological males from competing in women’s sports, but also how college campuses handle sexual harassment charges and due process. While these changes have been anticipated since Biden took office, last week the Washington Post reported the first look at a draft copy of the proposed language, which includes this key sentence: . . .

Sundance: State Dept Launch New Division to “Support U.S. Values Associated With Cyberspace”
With the current context of rising corporate fascism and western authoritarianism in the forefront, the creation of a cyber division within the State Department looks more like another tool to promote globalism and block any on-line cyber activity that would be created or distributed against their interests.
As Orwell would predict, a U.S. version of the Ministry of Truth and democracy.  The State Dept will officially define the U.S. values that will be permitted in the cyber-space.  Any violation of those values will now be reviewed by the “Digital Freedom Coordinator”.

THE BIG GUYS SON

Brunter & Solomon: Hunter Biden sought to cash in with oligarchs during first Russian war on Ukraine, records show
In the shadows of Russia’s first invasion of Ukraine in 2014, Hunter Biden and his business partners embarked on an aggressive campaign to score millions of dollars in “life changing” business with oligarchs in both countries who had an interest in his father’s policymaking business, according to emails and court records obtained by Just the News. President Joe Biden’s son and his associates targeted Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina — who eventually was sanctioned by the U.S. a few years later in 2018 — for as much as $200 million after helping her get a bank account set up in America, the emails show.
