There were lots of handwaving and dismissal of that argument. In the aftermath of the four-hour disturbance at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, Democrats scrambled to prepare articles of impeachment against departing President Donald Trump for the second time. Trump—according to Democrats, the news media, and most of the GOP political establishment—had incited the violence with claims of a stolen election, and by encouraging his supporters to march to Capitol Hill following his speech near the White House that afternoon. But it wasn’t enough to just denounce Trump. After all, he would be leaving Washington on January 20 to build his post-presidency political machine. So House Democrats upped the blame and shame game by accusing their Republican colleagues of organizing tours of the Capitol complex on January 5 so the alleged coup-plotters could map out the next day’s “insurrection.” Representative Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) started the rumor a week after the protest. In a letter to members of the Capitol Police board, the agency responsible for securing the Capitol, Sherrill demanded an “immediate investigation into the suspicious behavior and access given to visitors to the Capitol Complex on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.” Sherrill claimed her training in the military gave her the keen ability to “recognize suspicious activity” and questioned why so many large outside groups were in and around the building that day. Nearly three-dozen House Democrats co-signed her letter.

This morning started with testimony from Bill Priestap, who in September 2016 was the FBI’s Assistant Director of Counterintelligence. His testimony was expected, even before the witness lists were put out. Back in January, we observed that Priestap had testified before a grand jury. In fact, Priestap himself stated today that he testified before the grand jury in June 2021.A little bit of background on Priestap before we begin. Priestap approved the opening of Crossfire Hurricane and decided against defensive briefings being provided to the Trump Campaign. He was Peter Strzok’s supervisor and also approved the use of all the confidential human sources used against the Trump campaign (Stefan Halper, et al.). Last week, former FBI general counsel James Baker testified that he spoke with Priestap about his meeting with Sussmann and “repeated to Mr. Priestap that Michael had said that he was not there on behalf of a particular client, that he was there as a citizen, as a – essentially as a human source of information, confidential source.” At trial today, Priestap was presented with notes he took after that meeting with Baker.

In the background of Georgia politics, the democrat operatives have been doing the same. There is an alignment of interest. The 2022 play book is similar to post 2010 era, when President Obama and Eric Holder triggered the IRS targeting of Tea Party conservative groups, and the republican old guard, including Mitch McConnell supported the effort. The surge in the early vote in Georgia shows that all the smears about the state’s new voting law, repeated by everyone from the president of the United States on down, were complete nonsense. On the Republican side, according to the secretary of state’s office, there have been 453,929 early votes and 29,220 absentee votes this primary season (absentee votes are still coming in as of this writing). This is compared with just 153,264 early votes and 14,795 absentee votes during the last, pre-pandemic midterm, in 2018. The Democrats have seen a similar surge. In 2022, there have been 337,245 early votes and 31,704 absentee votes, compared with only 134,542 early votes and 13,051 absentee votes in 2018. The early vote among minorities in particular is up markedly.

Dress: Court rules SEC’s internal judges are unconstitutional

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday ruled the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is denying defendants their constitutional right to a jury trial by putting them in front of its own internal judges. In a 2-1 ruling, the court ruled for George Jarkesy and Patriot28 LLC, who sued the SEC in 2011 after the agency imposed a $300,000 fine and other punishments in a securities fraud case. Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod wrote in the majority opinion that the SEC violated the Seventh Amendment’s right to a jury trial by bringing defendants before in-house judges and allowing the agency to “act as both prosecutor and judge.” Congress also unconstitutionally delegated power to the SEC to act as a legislative body, Elrod wrote. “‘We the People’ are the fountainhead of all government power. Through the Constitution, the people delegated some of that power to the federal government so that it would protect rights and promote the common good,” Elrod said. “But that accountability evaporates if a person or entity other than Congress exercises legislative power.”

In a historic victory for the rule of a law, a California court found California’s gender quota law for corporate boards unconstitutional. The verdict comes after a 28-day trial (Robin Crest et al. v. Alex Padilla (Case No. 19STCV27561)). This verdict follows a similar ruling in our favor last month that found California’s diversity mandate for corporate boards unconstitutional. We filed the gender quota lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2019 on behalf of California taxpayers Robin Crest, Earl De Vries and Judy De Vries. The lawsuit challenged a 2018 law, known as Senate Bill 826, which required every publicly held corporation headquartered in California to have at least one director “who self-identifies her gender as a woman” on its board of directors by December 31, 2019. That is just one of the questions swirling around Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, who created Pro-Democracy Republicans PAC last July to run independent expenditure campaigns in support of GOP primary candidates for the state legislature and some county-level races. But only for Republican candidates who would acknowledge “the validity of the 2020 election” as well as “condemn the events of January 6, 2021,” Richer has said. New Hampshire’s allegedly Republican governor believes that the state’s motto, “Live Free or Die,” refers to local governments and not individual human beings. But this is a simple step, and Trial Site really has been a non-biased truth teller for both this pandemic, medicine and for clinical research in general. The article starts with Early calls for use of repurposed drugs that appeared to work—at least according to preliminary studies and hundreds to thousands of doctors on the front lines of the pandemic—were mostly ignored by organized medicine. This was primarily because even in pandemic times, organized medicine will not deviate from the existing stringent approaches and protocols to developing medical evidence. They will demonstrate flexibility with well-capitalized, staffed entities with track records, such as key players in the pharmaceutical industry. Yet during a pandemic, an urgency called for unorthodox approaches, and according to many front-line physicians, that’s their job in the first place—find ways to treat patients that, in the judgment of the physician—work. Taken as a whole, the leak represents perhaps the largest and single-most revealing glimpse into a system of repression that the Chinese government tried to hide from the world, then lied about when challenged. It will also pile pressure on the UN over a fact-finding mission to Xinjiang that begins today, amid fears of state whitewashing.

Thus, the growth rate of circulating currency tends to be correlated with the growth rate of total expenditures, as well as inflation.

The federal government can not afford to simply ignore this problem and hope it goes away or miss the warning signs as they did with the current baby formula shortage and so many other things where the Biden administration claimed they aren’t “mind readers.” . . . When demand for electricity exceeds supply, the utility companies will either have to begin a series of rolling blackouts in all of the affected states or the grid will suffer crippling damage and be down for months. […] As we discussed last week, this won’t just impact California and Texas. A minimum of 14 states will be hit by this in a rolling sequence. As water levels fall, you eventually reach the point where your ability to produce hydroelectric electricity from dams diminishes. Meanwhile, there are 40 coal-fired power plants scheduled to be taken offline in the name of fighting climate change. No replacement sources for all of that juice have been proposed, to say nothing of having them come online. Action could be taken, but it needs to start yesterday. It’s too late to restart work on the Keystone XL pipeline and have it up and running by this summer, but we need to do that anyway because this problem will appear every summer and winter going forward. Meanwhile, the closure of the coal plants needs to be stopped at once. If you don’t want to burn coal, fine. Convert them to natural gas as has been done to more than 100 coal-fired plants in just the past ten years. We need to streamline the regulatory hurdles in the nuclear power approval process to bring more of the next-generation small module reactors (SMRs) online quickly wherever it is practical to do so. And yes, if there is room for any more wind turbines and solar farms, get to work putting them up also. We’ll take juice wherever we can get it at this point. The auto insurance company State Farm is encouraging its agents in Florida to donate books promoting transgenderism to 5-year-olds to their local schools or public libraries, according to an email shared by a whistleblower. The email, obtained by the nonprofit organization Consumers’ Research and shared with the Washington Examiner, revealed that State Farm has partnered with the GenderCool Project, which promotes issues of gender identity in children through various advocacy and public awareness programs, to donate a packet of three books to local schools and public libraries. The three books, A Kids Book About Being Transgender, A Kids Book About Being Non-Binary, and A Kids Book About Being Inclusive, contain various descriptions about gender and identity meant to disprove the notion that gender is the same as biological sex and establish that it is therefore changeable. The GenderCool Project markets the “three book bundle” to children ages 5 and over, a fact noted in the whistleblower email. […] While the communique only referenced recruiting volunteer agents in Florida, it indicated that the program is a nationwide initiative. […] In a zoom call with reporters, Consumers’ Research Executive Director Will Hild noted that the materials promoted by State Farm and produced by the GenderCool Project would be barred from use in public schools once the new law takes effect in July. “We would hope State Farm would … cooperate with the governor’s office or law enforcement in [Florida] and retrieve any of these books that may have been donated to public schools that by law now do not belong there,” Hild said, noting that was in addition to his organization’s opinion that such discussions with children were inappropriate according to “any reasonable understanding.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration set June 14-15 as the new meeting date to review Moderna Inc’s emergency authorization request for its COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 6 months to 5 years and Pfizer Inc’s vaccine for those aged 6 months through 4 years. The new dates for our pediatric COVID-19 vaccine advisory committee meetings will now be June 14 and June 15, the FDA said in a statement Monday. “We know parents are anxious for us to determine if these vaccines are safe & effective. In light of the disclosure by Pfizer re: their data & anticipated dates for submission, we believe that we will complete review of both EUA requests within days of one another,” it said. The June 14 meeting will consider Moderna’s emergency use authorization request for youth aged six to 17 years, the FDA said.

Pullmann: The Left Has Effectively Banned Christian Kids From Public Pools, Libraries, And Summer Camps

This spring I got an email from 4-H, a club I participated in as a child, effectively communicating that my Christian family need not apply to summer camps and other activities sponsored by the quasi-public organization. (County governments often sponsor 4-H activities.) This email was signed by a 4-H staffer who put pronouns in his signature and told me, “Youth are assigned cabins based on gender indicated on the 4-H camp application and registration,” suggesting children were roomed by gender identity rather than sex. Naturally, I was concerned that my tween daughter and son might be roomed overnight with an emotionally disturbed camper or counselor if I enrolled them in this camp. Based on numerous reported stories, I know that if this did happen, the camp likely would not even tell me, so I’d only hear about it after the fact from my kids. When I emailed again to confirm I was understanding this correctly, the staffer refused to answer definitively whether campers could be placed in private facilities such as bedrooms and bathrooms with transgender individuals. That’s an unacceptable risk to children’s well-being, as well as a lawsuit waiting to happen. […] So instead of achieving equality, what we have really achieved is the subversion of children’s developmental needs to adult desires. Instead of equality, we have replaced legal preferences for the only sexual arrangement that produces the most stable future citizens — lifelong married biological parents — with legal preferences for sexual arrangements that harm children and send religious folk to the back of the public bus.

Mathews: A New Kind of Child Abuse

What exactly do parents who want to change their child’s sex (as if that were possible) think is the good that comes out of advocating trans for a child? There is only one sound reason I can think of: they, the parents, are in need of attention. The parent who advocates for “sex change” in a child must desperately want to be noticed for her own sake, not specifically for the child’s sake. And yes, it is usually mothers, not fathers, who promote this. Raising a child who acknowledges his birth sex is the normal way of things. It is ordinary, and ordinary rarely gets noticed. But if you trans your child, you get noticed, and you become a hero in the eyes of a very vocal, bombastic group of trendy like-minded people who will laud your progressive thinking. At least they noticed you. The child? Well, the child is a tool in the toolbox that functions as a way for a parent to get vicarious attention in this TikTok world, where attention is all that matters. The child becomes merely a bracelet, a rainbow-t-shirt, an adornment.

When we say man, we mean a homo sapiens with a male phenotype and XY chromosomes. This is the “binary” that is somehow problematic, despite being a simple material reality. Calling it problematic is like calling out sand for being made of silicate to be problematic. Or calling out hydrogen peroxide for not liking silver problematic. […] I’m a 47,XXY with a male phenotype and it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I was born from an older mother in a fairly poor region of New England. This increased the risk for this condition to occur. In addition to that, where I was born was very poor, and had very polluted water – similar to Flint, Michigan, but went untreated from the 1960s to the 1990s. I was born in 1981, and it was only in 1991 the community was informed of the pollution. Cancer rates in my home town are far higher than the national average as a result, and my mother drinking this water while carrying me might have had an impact on my pre-natal development. For example, when I was born, I was a preemie, and spent three months in a neo-natal ICU suffering from lung and kidney failures. Growing up my extra chromosome had an impact. […] I do not identify as non-binary. I AM non-binary. As in actually, medically, officially, in the material sense a non-binary person. And – frankly – I deeply resent the appropriation of my lived experience by those who have no genetic or physical abnormality yet try to force such language for themselves. My condition is not something that is to be “celebrated” or anyone should want to “experience”.
