Previously, immunocompromised individuals were authorized to receive a three-dose primary series of a vaccine followed by a booster. Tuesday’s decision bypasses the independent panel of experts from both the FDA and the CDC, which have issued recommendations to the agencies throughout the pandemic on whether they should clear additional shots, and if so, for which groups.

At one point Gaetz tried to enter the hard drive into the Congressional record but was blocked by House Judiciary Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), who changed his mind a short while later.
‘Sir, I’m not here to talk about the laptop. Piper: Amid growing criticism, CDC denies withholding vaccination data on COVID deaths, hospitalizations
or the first time since COVID-19 lockdowns were imposed, the CDC finds itself under sustained scrutiny from even presumed allies for the quality and timeliness of data it publishes and what it keeps hidden. Biden’s spending plan mentions “equity” and its derivatives more than 100 times, including in a $48 million allocation for an “equitable National Park System.” With this money, the Department of the Interior “would expand operations at parks that preserve and tell the story of historically underrepresented and marginalized groups.” The State Department will receive $2.6 billion under the plan to “advance gender equity.” The Environmental Protection Agency will receive more than $1.5 billion to “advance racial equity and secure environmental justice for communities.” With a price tag of $5.8 trillion, the budget displays a commitment to the nebulous left-wing concept of “equity,” which often includes “antiracism” training, explicitly favoring minority job applicants when hiring or direct cash handouts to aggrieved groups.

Budryk: Senate climate hawks announce 500-day energy independence plan
Senate Democrats who are part of the chamber’s Climate Change Task Force are calling for a multistep strategy to achieve energy independence by transitioning to renewable energy over the next 500 days. At a meeting of the task force Tuesday, Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) outlined a series of reforms that he said would achieve the goal without increased reliance on fossil fuels. […]  The task force is further calling for the creation of a Civilian Climate Corps, one of the major environmental prongs in the sweeping Build Back Better Act. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) seemingly torpedoed the bill in December when he said he would not vote for it, but he has said the act’s climate provisions are among the aspects he supports and could back in a smaller package.

The future of the American regime, to say nothing of the fate of Western civilization, will not be decided by superior arguments.  This will sound like heresy to the Ben Shapiros of the world, who have made a name for themselves challenging liberals to open debate in the “marketplace of ideas.” The wisest minds in the history of philosophy from Plato to Locke, by contrast, have known full well that some human beings simply cannot be educated. In Book X of the Nicomachean Ethics, written some 2,500 years ago, Aristotle argues that some people can only learn through beatings. And those who cannot learn at all, he argues, should be deported from the city. A harsh assessment, perhaps, but the fundamental point is well taken. Even being whacked upside the head with literal two-by-fours is not enough to teach the most fervent political fanatics to recognize reality. Anyone who has tried debating the most ferocious COVID enforcers or middle-aged liberal wine aunts (but I repeat myself) will swiftly realize how persuasion is lost on a mind warped by ideology.

Barr: US bracing for influx of migrants at southern border if Title 42 revoked: DHS
The Department of Homeland Security is bracing for as many as 18,000 migrants per day at the southern border if Title 42 is revoked, according to senior DHS officials who briefed reporters on Tuesday. The DHS officials said they have “no idea” when Title 42, the controversial Trump administration policy that deports single adults under the auspices of a public health emergency, will be lifted. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is currently conducting a review of Title 42, which must be completed by March 30. An announcement on whether it will be renewed is expected soon thereafter.

Students in professor Madhavi Sunder’s mandatory first-year course learn on day one that the history of American property law is “the history of dispossession and appropriation,” according to videos of the course reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Lecture slides from the first month of coursework trace the “birth” of modern property law not to English courts, but to “Native dispossession and the enslavement of African Americans.” “Possession,” one slide asserts, “is a legal term of art for a settler capitalist society.” […]  To help her students conceptualize the problem, Sunder quotes the “antiracist” author Ijeoma Oluo, who defines cultural appropriation as the “adoption or exploitation of another culture by a more dominant culture.” Students are then asked to apply this definition to intellectual property law, according to the slides. Sunder wasn’t just putting her own spin on a stereotypically dry class; she was also laying the groundwork for a sweeping transformation of the law school curriculum.
