A U.S. judge in Texas issued a nationwide injunction on Friday barring the federal government from enforcing President Joe Biden’s requirement that federal workers without qualifying medical or religious exemptions be vaccinated for COVID-19. […] Those out of compliance with the policy were referred to counseling and could be terminated under an executive order signed by Biden. Hearing the Department of Justice describe them, one would think that the Oath Keepers are the scariest bunch of anti-American knuckleheads to come down the pike since the Ku Klux Klan. Given that a bunch of them were just arrested for plotting an insurrection — that the FBI assured us wasn’t an insurrection — this is a good time to get to know who they actually are. Media coverage of the group is sprinkled with terms like “right-wing extremists,” “anti-government extremists,” and “far right militia.” Like any story, the reporting about the Oath Keepers can be spun to support a narrative, or to give an unbiased assessment. The MSM has chosen to go with the narrative. One has to look beyond the scare quotes, and assess what the organization has actually done to get a true sense of its nature. The Oath Keepers was founded in 2009 by Stewart Rhodes. It is a national, but loosely knit organization, created to resist violations of civil liberties by the government. In 2009, that sounded like conspiracy nut thinking. But since the organization’s founding, we’ve been treated to Crossfire Hurricane, two impeachment show trials, COVID shutdowns, election 2020, and our own government targeting parents as domestic terrorists. What sounded crazy in 2009 sounds prescient in 2022. Stewart Rhodes is an army veteran (a paratrooper) and a Yale law school graduate. He understands what our founders intended for America, and has . . .[…] The organization’s name is a reference to the oath that all soldiers and law enforcement officers swear — to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. . . .[…] In 2016, the Oath Keepers proved just how subversive they were — they endorsed Donald Trump for President. In his campaign, Trump pledged to fight against the corrupt elite, so it was a birds of a feather thing. Two men on ventilators—one in Florida and one in Arizona—died within 24 hours of each other, even as their families were still fighting with hospitals for the chance to try alternative treatments. After all other treatments offered by the hospitals failed, both families had begged to try ivermectin and other alternative treatments for COVID-19, as outlined in a protocol by the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance. Daniel Pisano, 70, had been fighting for his life in Mayo Clinic Florida since Dec. 11. His battle ended late Jan. 19. Stephen Judge, 69, had struggled to overcome his illness in Banner Ironwood Medical Center in Queen Creek, Arizona, since Nov. 17. He died on Jan. 20. Pisano had been on a ventilator for 36 days; Judge had been on a ventilator for 44 days. Both hospitals repeatedly refused the families’ requests for alternative treatments, and have not responded to repeated requests for comment by The Epoch Times. […] “The problem is he was trapped [in Mayo Clinic Florida]. They wouldn’t let him leave. They wouldn’t let them bring in a doctor to treat him, the only doctor who expressed hope he could be saved. Madness.” The family’s other attorney, Nick Whitney, of the Anderson Glenn law firm, said, “Mr. Pisano and his family never suspected that they would lose all control over medical decisions when they went to the Mayo Clinic. No one should find themselves facing that brutal reality.” He continued, “If the courts got it right here, the law is sadly undeveloped and woefully behind. If there is a bright side to this tragedy, it is that many more people now know what they are up against.”

Judicial Watch: Visa Program for Illegal Alien Crime Victims Approves Forged, Altered, Unauthorized Petitions
A controversial program that awards special visas to illegal immigrants who claim to be victims of crimes in the U.S. rubber stamps petitions with forged, unauthorized, altered, or suspicious law enforcement certifications, according to a scathing federal audit released this month. The probe also discloses that the Homeland Security agency, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), that authorizes the visas has for years allowed fraud to go unchecked in the program that receives over 50,000 applications annually. It is known as the U nonimmigrant visa, or simply U visa, and it grants lawful status as well as a path to American citizenship to illegal alien crime victims and their families. Congress created it in 2000 as part of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act to help authorities prosecute criminals with the help of victims in the country illegally who might otherwise not cooperate with police. Though victims of other crimes and those who have suffered “substantial physical or mental abuse” may also qualify, the visa was designed to assist victims of sexual assault, gangs, domestic violence, and human trafficking. In the last few years U visa petitions have grown tremendously, according to government figures, and the Biden administration wants to expand the program even more by raising the annual cap from 10,000 to 30,000 (family members do not count against the cap).

National Propaganda Radio (otherwise known as the state-funded media outfit NPR) ran a hit-piece Thursday on a charity collecting donations for political prisoners held under the Biden regime over charges related to Jan. 6. “Experts see ‘red flags’ at nonprofit raising big money for Capitol riot defendants,” NPR Investigations headlined, smearing the Patriot Freedom Project (PFP) as a shadow charity whose board is run by supervisors plagued with financial headaches of their own. The article centers on the charity’s founder, Cynthia Hughes, who launched the group to support Jan. 6 defendants held now more than a year in reportedly inhumane conditions, and their coping families. Hughes’ own “adoptive nephew” is among those in jail. […] “Patriot Freedom Project exists to fight for political prisoners. The ones that are being attacked by our own government and being denied due process and living in hellacious conditions in the D.C. jail,” a charity spokesperson told the outlet. NPR’s reporting on the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a project bailing out Minneapolis rioters, included four published pieces of laudatory coverage and no mention of Vice President Kamala Harris encouraging supporters to donate while she was a California senator.
