Last week the corrupt media’s penchant for spinning all things conservative caused a near-fatal case of whiplash. The left began by chastising conservatives for supposedly building “its own echo chamber,” but by the next day, when news broke that Devin Nunes was resigning from Congress to serve as the CEO of Donald Trump’s new media company, the complained-of conservative ecosystem merely represented grift. Both narratives are false, however, which is precisely why leftists peddled them so hard. Axios launched the “echo chamber” accusation with its article titled, “Right wing builds its own echo chamber.” “Conservatives are aggressively building their own apps, phones, cryptocurrencies and publishing houses in an attempt to circumvent what they see as an increasingly liberal internet and media ecosystem,” the Axios article began. The article then highlighted plans for the YouTube alternative Rumble and Trump’s social media company, Truth Social, to expand their reach by taking the companies public. Also highlighted was the social app Gettr that former-Trump aide Jason Miller launched, as well as conservative efforts to compete in cryptocurrency, phones, cloud storage, and book publishing. “The bottom line,” Axios closed, was that, “Conservative media has been a powerhouse for a long time, but this phase of its expansion isn’t just about more or louder conservative voices — it’s about building an entire conservative ecosystem.”

On Monday, Decemter 13, several lawyers stepped forward to announce they were going to work for election officials in Wisconsin and represent them at no cost to diffuse the threats and voter fraud claims from the 2020 election. The lawyers, led by Attorney David Becker, announced the formation of the Wisconsin Election Official Legal Defense Network (EOLDN). In just three months since the formation of EOLDN in Septembert hundreds of liberal attorneys have signed on to assist the group.

Two former top officials at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published an op-ed at the Washington Post on Thursday, slamming President Joe Biden’s administration for “sidelining” outside expert panels when making a decision on the authorization of COVID-19 vaccine booster shots. […] “At this point in the pandemic, the world faces a host of new questions related to vaccines and boosting. The recommendations of experts on the outside advisory committees are needed more than ever — so the scientific community can understand the empirical bases for decisions, and so the public can be assured that science, not politics, is driving vaccine policy,” the former officials wrote. The scientists warned of undesirable “long-term consequences” of such “convenient” disregard for experts’ opinions.

Kory, M.D.: Studies Proving Generic Drugs Can Fight COVID Are Being Suppressed
Omicron emerging in the United States and news of the first reported death in the United Kingdom remind us how little we understand the novel coronavirus, and with vaccines less effective against the new variant, how much we are in need of additional ways to fight it. To broaden our knowledge of COVID-19 and identify the best ways to treat and prevent it, doctors should be able to use every possible safe means at their disposal to help patients. Unfortunately, that is impossible in our current political climate. […] The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control have recommended next to none. Instead, the Biden administration has thrown its political weight almost solely behind mass vaccinations, and hospitals and pharmacies have dogmatically followed suit. But this approach is proving insufficient to arrest COVID-19. Just look at the evidence on fluvoxamine, a widely used generic antidepressant. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) published in November 2020 showed that the drug led to far less clinical deterioration in treated patients. Another, larger, double-blind RCT, published in The Lancet in October of this year, found fluvoxamine reduced COVID-19 mortality rates by up to 91 percent and hospitalizations by two-thirds. This is an FDA-approved drug. Dosed correctly and for such short periods, it is safe. And it costs about a dollar a pill. These findings have since been further reinforced by another study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association in November,

People shouldn’t get the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine when the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna shots are available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday. […] At least 54 people in the U.S., most of them women, have been hospitalized by the blood clots, and nine people have died.
[…] The advisory panel voted unanimously to declare the mRNA vaccines, from Pfizer and Moderna, the “preferred” options for adults, ultimately concluding that the mRNA vaccines provided greater protection and fewer risks than Johnson & Johnson’s. The recommendation wouldn’t prohibit use of the Johnson & Johnson shot but instead make it clear that the other options are better choices if they are available.

If the danger of our adversaries depends on their malice and competence, the Communist Party of China (CCP) is undoubtedly America’s greatest foe. China’s government regularly flouts good-faith rules for international cooperation. They steal technology and harass foreign nationals. They pressure corporate leaders and celebrities to genuflect before them, as with JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and NBA superstar LeBron James. They brutalize dissenters, from millions of Uyghur Muslims to billionaire entrepreneur Jack Ma to (probably) professional tennis player Peng Shuai. Most brazenly, they stonewall any attempts to investigate the COVID-19 lab-leak hypothesis, despite mounting evidence and consensus that it’s likely true. Yet the U.S. response to Beijing’s provocations is frustratingly weak. What explains our government’s failure to act? Part of the blame lies with the scholars and policy experts who advise American leaders. Economists are some of the worst offenders. Since both of us are academic economists, we feel it’s important to own up to our profession’s failures. When it comes to China, economists subscribe to theories of liberal internationalism that just don’t match the facts.

As far as I can tell, this is what we are now supposed to believe as Americans, in this first year of the Glorious Deep State’s Blessed and Eternal Reign: Our country is so irredeemably racist that people of all races keep sneaking into the United States at breakneck speeds. Our military is so well prepared for future threats from China and Russia that it can dedicate its resources to spreading transgenderism through its ranks, pontificating about “white rage” at book clubs, firing servicemembers for not “vaxxing up,” and challenging “climate change” to bouts of fisticuffs. Our border is so secure that we have time to worry about Ukraine’s. China is so worrisome a global adversary that our political and business “elites” continue to transfer American wealth and manufacturing capabilities to its shores. Russia is so much of a geopolitical foe that our government’s weather warriors have chosen to kill America’s domestic energy production and increase Russia’s leverage over the world’s supply of oil and natural gas. And Iran, which continues to promise “death to Israel,” must be coddled and rewarded before it hurts our friends. A global pandemic caused by a virus most likely created in a Chinese lab with the assistance of U.S. government funds must still be treated as if it just magically appeared. […] To save “democracy,” we must murder freedom. The religiously devout must seek and receive the government’s blessing before gathering to pray. Those who wish to protest against the government must first obtain permission.

Everett: Sinema pops Democrats’ filibuster trial balloon on voting rights
In a statement to POLITICO, a spokesperson said that Sinema “continues to support the Senate’s 60-vote threshold, to protect the country from repeated radical reversals in federal policy which would cement uncertainty, deepen divisions, and further erode Americans’ confidence in our government.” Since joining the Senate in 2019, Sinema’s been a fierce defender of the filibuster and warned that reversing it could lead to terrible outcomes for Democrats down the line.
