These are the same claims he knows provoked violence in the past. He has recently suggested that he wants to debate members of this committee,” Cheney said. “This committee’s investigation into the violent assault on our Capitol on Jan. 6 is not a game. The House select committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol approved on Wednesday night the report to hold former Department of Justice official Jeffrey Clark in contempt of Congress for defying his subpoena by refusing to answer questions during a recent deposition and failing to hand over documents to the panel. But the panel is also giving Clark another opportunity to appear, on Saturday, in light of a new letter he sent to the committee stating that he intends to claim Fifth Amendment protection. […] If Clark answers the committee’s questions by pleading the Fifth Amendment, the panel will likely have to stop the process of holding him in criminal contempt. If Clark continues to stonewall the committee, and invoke the Fifth Amendment in ways the committee deems illegitimate, the panel will proceed with a floor vote as soon as next week. […] Although Raskin said the committee would not “begrudge anyone in honest invocation of the Fifth Amendment,” he added that Clark’s case to invoke it here is “certainly unusual” and noted that Clark’s former Justice Department superiors, Jeffrey Rosen and Richard Donoghue, had spoken to the committee without invoking the Fifth Amendment.

Lonas: Ohio governor signs bill allowing small businesses to stay open during health emergencies
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) signed a bill on Wednesday that will allow small businesses to stay open during health emergencies. The “Business Fairness Act” will allow small businesses to remain open during health emergencies as long as they can meet safety conditions. The bill was sponsored by Republican state Reps. Shane Wilkin and Jon Cross after bigger companies were allowed to stay open during the pandemic but smaller businesses were forced to close. “Ohio took the lead nationwide in working with businesses and industry leaders to help develop safe workplace guidelines and keep Ohioans working during the pandemic,” said DeWine.

Efforts to draft America’s daughters for war is the perfect example of how the left’s quest for dissolving the distinctions between men and women in the name of “equality” is in fact anti-woman. Studies highlight what common sense and experience tells all of us: men perform better in military training than women. Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) asked Sohn about her criticism of conservative media. Sohn, if confirmed to become an FCC commissioner, would have wide swathe over conservative media and other news outlets. Sohn has also called for the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, a conservative-owned network of local broadcasters, to be stripped of its license. Its partnerships with Twitter and Hollywood allow it to censor unapproved messages before too many brains have the opportunity to consider new thoughts. Its alliance with credit card companies allows it to track all your financial transactions and thereby understand your habits, preferences, choices, and addictions. Its alliance with cellular companies allows it to monitor all your movements, contacts, and associations. And all of these consumer comforts that are used by the “national security” surveillance state to watch everyone in real time constantly measure every American’s potential for subversiveness, even when that American is engaged in the most mundane things during the course of an ordinary day. Now, whom does the government fear most under these conditions? Hint: It is not the millions of illegal aliens who pour through our uncontrolled borders . . . We have to begin with asking why is the governing pushing electric vehicles? And it’s not just cars, it’s also trucks. Why are they ignoring hybrid vehicles? If something happens to the electric guts of a properly designed hybrid car, the vehicle can limp along with its smaller gas engine until it reaches safety. What happens to a fully electric vehicle if its electrical system fails? Nothing, of course! You’re stuck. All you have is a hunk of metal and plastic. Ali: Scientists say they might have discovered the cause of Alzheimer’s
Researchers in California focused on studying a protein called tau and how it’s linked to brain buildup, a key indicator doctors look for when diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease. Scientists in California tried to study Alzheimer’s disease from a different perspective and the results may have led them to the cause of the disease. Researchers at the University of California- Riverside (UCR) recently published results from a study that looked at a protein called tau. By studying the different forms tau proteins take, researchers discovered the difference between people who developed dementia and those who didn’t. The tau protein was critical for researchers because they wanted to understand what the protein could reveal about the mechanism behind plaques and tangles, two critical indicators doctors look for when diagnosing people with Alzheimer’s. By analyzing donated brain samples, researchers found that those with brain buildup, like plaques and tangles, but had no dementia had a normal form of tau. However, those who had a “different-handed” form of tau and developed plaques or tangles did have dementia.
