In 2018, after a local news crew filmed Ryan Nichols rescuing dogs abandoned by their owners after Hurricane Florence, the former Marine appeared on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Not only did DeGeneres commend Nichols’ longtime work as a search-and-rescue volunteer, she donated $25,000 to the Humane Society in his name and gave Ryan and his wife, Bonnie, a $10,000 check to pay for the honeymoon they had missed the year before so Ryan could assist rescue efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. […] Three years after his appearance on the DeGeneres show, Nichols was featured on another program, but this time, Nichols spoke from the fetid confines of a political prison in the nation’s capital. And instead of telling a heroic story of saving dogs drowning in rising flood waters, Nichols told Newsmax host Greg Kelly a harrowing tale of what he saw at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. “We showed up in good faith . . . to protest the election results but never would have imagined we would encounter the horrors that we did on the west terrace and in the tunnel that day,” Nichols explained to Kelly in a phone interview on November 9. “When I saw women being beaten and in distress, my rescue instinct kicked in and I knew I had no choice but to help rescue them.” Nichols’ account is detailed in an appalling new court filing that confirms what American Greatness has reported for months: on January 6, D.C. Metro and Capitol police assaulted nonviolent protesters with explosive devices, rubber bullets, tear gas, and in some cases, their own fists and batons.

Daniel Rickenmann, a businessman, will become the 37th mayor of Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, after winning the city’s election this week. “Rickenmann’s election marks a change in Columbia’s politics,” The State reported. “While city seats are nonpartisan, Columbia has been led by Democratic mayors for more than 30 years — Bob Coble for 20, and Benjamin for the last 11. Rickenmann is a Republican.”

TGP reported that Roger Geisler, a special agent with Brnovich’s major-fraud unit, interrogated Fontes but according to AZ Central, Fontes did not suggest he was the target of a criminal probe. It is unknown how the audio recording was obtained but nobody else seems to have it. As was done with the Arizona audit’s final report, MSNBC is creating a spin saying “tapes reveal Arizona officials know the investigation into the 2020 election was a sham.”. Could this be another fake news leak to get ahead of the real narrative? [NOTE: Fontes, a Democrat, was Maricopa County Recorder for the 2020 election.]

Brenan: Stricter Gun Laws Less Popular in U.S.
Gallup has been tracking the public’s views on this measure since 1990, when the nation’s crime rate was high and a record 78% of Americans supported stricter laws for gun sales. Since then, calls for tougher gun control have generally spiked in the wake of prominent mass shootings and faded as the memory of each receded. As recently as three years ago, after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting, support for increased gun control rose to 67%, the highest point since 1993. It remained elevated until it began to fall last year. The latest decline in support for stricter gun laws, from an Oct. 1-19 Gallup poll, follows a seven-point drop last year. The decline in support for stricter gun laws last year was mostly due to a 14-point drop among Republicans, to 22% — the group’s lowest point on record. This year’s decrease is driven by a 15-point plunge among independents. For their part, Democrats’ desire for more restrictive gun laws ticked up to 91%.

At the University of Texas at Austin, they’re investigating antiracism training. And researchers are in luck, as they’ve got blank slates for their studies. For test subjects, the school’s using four-year-old children. The miniature volunteers need only meet a simple standard: Each tot must be the color of a tater.
The inside, that is — preschool participants have to be white, the same as their accompanying caregivers. Five-year-olds can join as well, so long as they’ve not yet enrolled in kindergarten. […] A few questions come to mind: Is a four-year-old old enough to be racist? If not, is the “anti” element warranted?

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio this week announced he is considering requiring children as young as five years old to demonstrate proof of vaccination to enter private establishments, such as restaurants and gymnasiums. […] Last week, San Francisco lawmakers announced their plan to extend vaccination passport requirements for children 5 to 11 years old, “the first major U.S. city to do so,” NBC News reports. The vaccine passports would apply to children seeking to attend private establishments such as restaurants, gyms, and sporting venues. […] The CDC’s own data also show children are more likely to die from cancer, drowning, homicide, and suicide than COVID-19. (Note: the extent of the health risk varies based on the age group.) […] In fact, if you compare COVID-19 to previous viruses, the coronavirus is far less deadly to children. Swine flu, for example, resulted in roughly 19.5 million infections in children between the ages of 0-17 from April 2009-2010, causing 1,282 deaths. This means it had an infection fatality rate of 0.0066 percent. COVID-19, on the other hand, resulted in nearly 27 million infections in children between February 2020 and May 2021, causing 332 deaths. This means COVID had an infection fatality ratio of 0.0012 percent. In other words, the data suggest swine flu’s infection fatality rate in children was more than 5x higher than that of COVID-19. Put another way, . . . […] Lucy McBride, a practicing internist in Washington, D.C. who writes for The Atlantic, recently pointed out the Delta variant doesn’t appear to “target kids,” as some feared. […] Despite the evidence that COVID-19 poses a minuscule risk to children, there is a widespread effort to vaccinate them. The question is, why? There are probably a multitude of answers to this question, but one would seem to be this: Americans continue to be wildly misinformed about the COVID-19 risks.

Like the swine flu before it, SARS-CoV-2 would not have qualified as a pandemic were it not for the WHO erasing a few key words from the definition. Pre-2009, the official definition of a pandemic was: “… when a new influenza virus appears against which the human population has no immunity, resulting in several, simultaneous epidemics worldwide with enormous numbers of deaths and illness.” Then, in 2009, the WHO removed the severity and high mortality criteria (“enormous numbers of deaths and illness”), leaving the definition of a pandemic as “a worldwide epidemic of a disease.” By removing the restrictive criteria of severe illness causing high morbidity and leaving geographically widespread infection as the only criteria for a pandemic, the WHO has the ability to . . . […] In September 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shocked medical experts by changing the definition of a vaccine from . . . […] The WHO changed their definition of herd immunity in October 2020, likely in anticipation of the global mass vaccination campaign. To reiterate, in the past, herd immunity meant . . . FEE: New Harvard Study: Homeschoolers Turn Out Happy, Well-Adjusted, and Engaged
Researchers at Harvard University just released findings from their new study showing positive outcomes for homeschooled students. Writing in The Wall Street Journal last week, Brendan Case and Ying Chen of the Harvard Human Flourishing Program concluded that public school students “were less forgiving and less apt to volunteer or attend religious services than their home-schooled peers.” The scholars analyzed data of over 12,000 children of nurses who participated in surveys between 1999 and 2010 and found that homeschooled children were about one-third more likely to engage in volunteerism and have higher levels of forgiveness in early adulthood than those children who attended public schools. Homeschooled children were also more likely to attend religious services in adulthood than children educated in public schools, which the researchers noted is correlated with “lower risks of alcohol and drug abuse, depression and suicide.”

Americans’ support for stricter gun control laws, according to Gallup, has fallen five percentage points since last year down to 52% which is the lowest reading since 2014. Additionally, the poll shows that 35% of U.S. adults believe that firearm sale laws should be kept as they currently are and only 11% believe in tightening them further. Gallup notes that the decline in desire for stricter gun laws this year was driven by a 15% drop among independents while Democrats’ desire for stricter laws rose 6 points to 91%.

One doesn’t often hear about the College Democrats of America (CDA) unless they’re protesting some alleged microaggression on campus, but apparently the organization is in disarray. The organization is “in turmoil,” according to Politico, which reported that the “group’s leaders are publicly firing off accusations of anti-Blackness, Islamophobia and anti-Semitism at each other” largely based on things they tweeted when they were younger teens – years before college.
