NOTABLE QUOTES

Rush Limbaugh on GameStop’s David vs Goliath controversy: Folks, it’s not just political now. The elites are bent out of shape that a bunch of average, ordinary users have figured out how to make themselves billionaires. I’ve been studying it all morning and the best thing I can tell you is … whatever you think is going on in politics, Washington establishment, the Deep State, what have you, it’s the same thing in finance. If you figure out how to make a lot of money, and if you’re like Donald Trump and you figure out how to get elected, you figure out how to beat the Deep State, they’re gonna come and they’re gonna wipe you out. They’re gonna destroy you, and that’s what’s happening with GameStop.

David Krayden a contributor to Human Events wrote: With all the talk of “deprogramming,” it takes very little to see a world where Biden’s new campaign on domestic “terror” begins to label all Trump supporters and popular conservatives as domestic terrorists. That’s exactly where Biden’s surrogates in the media are going with this. There is already a bill sponsored by impeachment-happy Rep. Adam Schiff (R-CA) that would allow “domestic terrorists” to be prosecuted in the same manner as foreign terrorists. The problem with creating such a label is that it is subject to broad political interpretation. Were Biden only intent on identifying and prosecuting the mob who attacked the Capitol as “domestic terrorists,” why hasn’t he not explicitly stated that not all Trump supporters—even those who questioned the results of the presidential election—are domestic terrorists.

Sundance contributor to the Last Refuge wrote: The reality of DC elites demanding walls to protect them from the common American is a stunning shift in outlook from when the U.S. Capitol used to be considered “the people’s house.” Alas the voices are now asking for exactly that… a permanent fence to keep the American people away from those who run government.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) referring to Republican members in the US House said: I do believe, and I have said this all along, we will probably need a supplemental [budget] for more security for members when the enemy is within the House of Representatives – a threat that members are concerned about in addition to what is happening outside.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) smears Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) with unsubstantiated accusations: I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out. Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed. In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign. While you conveniently talk about ‘moving on,’ a second Capitol police officer lost their life yesterday in the still-raging aftermath of the attacks you had a role in. This isn’t a joke. We need accountability, and that includes a new Senator from Texas.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) offers unsolicited advice to Republican voters who believe the election was wrought with fraud: There is no question that the nation is divided now, and there is a lot of anger. To the people on my side who say an impeachment trial is going to inflame passions more. I say, first of all, have you gone out publicly and said that there was not widespread voter fraud and that Joe Biden is the legitimate president of the United States? If you said that, then I’m happy to listen to you talk about other things that might inflame anger and divisiveness. But if you haven’t said that, that’s really what’s at the source of the anger right now. There are many, many Republicans, almost three-quarters, who believe democracy itself has been stolen. That a very passioned perspective. You’ve got to have that get to the rearview mirror before you talk about the next stage.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

Stanton: How Donald J. Trump Accidentally Revived ‘Objective Truth’
A great deal has changed globally in these four years of Donald Trump’s presidency. It’s been a wild ride from any perspective. We will be debating the good and bad of these things, and Trump’s hand in them, for decades to come. There is, however, one profound and positive shift that happened on his watch.
Whether he meant to or not, Trump almost single-handedly corrected the left’s false view of the nature of truth. Indeed, if we learned anything from the left and their media partisans these last few years, it is this: Truth is no longer relative. The notion that each of us has his own equally legitimate take on the truth has been demonstrably demolished by the Age of Trump. Over the last five years, the world was regularly reminded just how illegitimate one particular man’s view of the truth was. And there was to be no debate over that objectively true truth. The ubiquitous feel-good dogma of “I have no right to judge your truth and you may not judge mine” was the leftist world’s mother’s milk secular society force-fed all of us just recently. Oprah, for one, built a whole empire on the belief. Read more at The Federalist.

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY

Munroe & Tian: China sharpens language, warns Taiwan that independence ‘means war’
China toughened its language towards Taiwan on Thursday, warning after recent stepped up military activities near the island that “independence means war” and that its armed forces were acting in response to provocation and foreign interference. Taiwan, claimed by China as its own territory, reported multiple Chinese fighter jets and bombers entering its southwestern air defence identification zone last weekend, prompting Washington to urge Beijing to stop pressuring Taiwan.

Black: The Nature of the Chinese Threat
Richard Nixon spoke nothing but the truth when he famously remarked, “No power on earth can defeat or humiliate the United States, except the United States.” Will we? […] It is noteworthy that in the last few months the president of China has caused the wealthiest person in China, Jack Ma, simply to vanish without a trace while the wealthiest Americans have been instrumental in deposing the president of the United States. It is illustrative of the patience and worldliness of the Chinese leadership that unlike with previous totalitarian threats to the West, Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, there is no hint of aggression or of superiority of race or political system, just a po-faced commitment to incontestable ideals and a pledge of altruistic and even fraternal national conduct.

THE FUNDAMENTAL JUSTIFICATION FOR CAPITALISM IS MORAL. NOT MATERIAL.

Neumayr: The Moral Case for Capitalism
Western civilization under its capitalist economic order has produced a worldwide cornucopia of consumer goods and a remarkable improvement in human health,” writes Donald Devine in The Enduring Tension: Capitalism and the Moral Order. “But few among the beneficiaries are grateful,” he continues. “Many in the West are instead reconsidering socialism as an alternative economic order and way of life.” Devine’s book is a learned, sound, and detailed answer to these critics. It couldn’t come at a more opportune moment, as global leaders from Joe Biden to Pope Francis seek to move the Western world away from capitalism. These critics of capitalism assume that they occupy the moral high ground. But do they?

THE CORRUPT & DANGEROUS DEMOCRAT PARTY’S MEDIA INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Davidson: Google Blocked Ads From Legal Group Opposing Democrats’ Supreme Court-Packing Plan
Google blocked the advertisements of a legal group that opposes President Joe Biden and the Democrats’ plan to pack the courts with additional seats, a Big Tech move that the bipartisan organization labeled as “bizarre.” Keep Nine, which consists of former politicians and attorneys general, first took out advertisements to advocate for the preservation of nine nonpartisan justices on the United States Supreme Court. Shortly after Biden’s inauguration, however, Google rejected Keep Nine’s marketing plans on the grounds that there was a “Sensitive Event” occurring, related to the election.
