Trump World is planning its own ideas festival, set for next month in Florida. The America First Policy Institute, the brainchild of the former president’s top domestic advisers, will host a policy summit Nov. 4 at Mar-a-Largo to celebrate what the previous administration sees as its key achievements and to plan future ones, RealClearPolitics is first to report. The event, billed as “the ultimate gathering” of conservative leaders, will be a reunion of sorts for former Trump Cabinet officials, many of whom are now full-time staffers at AFPI, the newest and biggest addition to the growing constellation of conservative groups. Former department heads attending will include . . . Doctors need to be called out. From early in the pandemic, it was like a mass hypnosis or forgetfulness of everything we had learned in medical school. Immune system knowledge was shelved and replaced by government dictates. The thought of early outpatient treatment with “off label” drugs that could modulate the immune system was forbidden. We essentially told patients that they had to go home and wait until they were sick enough to be hospitalized, then treatment would begin. Imagine telling all diabetics that there is no metformin, Glucophage, or insulin. Would we really wait until patients are in diabetic ketoacidosis, and then treat them only at the hospital? It is medical malfeasance of a grand scale. We physicians gave up our training and our reasonable medical thought process. The reasons are multiple. First, it was the easy way out. Second, many of us are employed and feared reprisal. Third, despite what the public thinks, we physicians are not bold leaders, we tend to be sheep, and are afraid of having an entire institution ostracize us or our colleagues to think us crazy. […] Lately it has been all about getting 100% of the population jabbed. For what reason? I am not sure, and some of the more detailed and investigated theories scare me. I shudder to think. But last year’s heroes are being labeled selfish and villainous for not getting the vaccine. Hospital systems have abandoned . . .

All age groups over 30 years saw the vaccinated getting infected at a higher rate than the unvaccinated, sometimes as high as 109%. While this discrepancy exists in new cases reported, the opposite is true for hospitalizations and deaths, meaning the vaccination still seems to have a positive benefit in preventing serious illness and death. The question remains why are the vaccinated getting infected more than the unvaccinated, could it be that the vaccine has damaged the immune system, making the vaccinated more susceptible to infection, as some have warned about in the past? . . . Regardless, one point is clear, this data contradicts the underlying assumption of vaccine passports – that vaccination reduces infection, when in fact it seems to be doing the opposite.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology – now widely believed to be responsible for the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic – is launching a new network of seven more laboratories, with some facilities exclusively hiring members of the Chinese Communist Party, The National Pulse can reveal. Several posts on the website of the lab reveal job openings for one of the new facilities: the Jiangxia Laboratory. Wuhan and its experiments have been funded and supported by leading U.S. institutions such as Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.

The Cuban Communist Party joined the official “Energy Alliance” of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) this week – an extension of the Chinese global infrastructure program focused on developing energy infrastructure globally. The site published photos appearing to show Chinese People’s Armed Police (PAP) fighters training Cuba’s “black berets,” the main repressive armed force Havana used to attack peaceful protesters. The PAP is a paramilitary organization China uses to attack political dissidents.

According to box-office data compiled by a Chinese-owned tracking service, the number one movie worldwide this week is The Battle at Lake Changjin, a three-hour-long epic about Chinese forces defeating American troops in the Korean War that was partly funded by the Chinese Communist government. […] Newsweek noted that even more “conservative” box office projections see the Chinese war movie grossing over $843 million in total, which would make it the highest-grossing film of 2021, unless one of the Hollywood blockbusters awaiting release can sell an astonishing number of tickets. The Battle at Lake Changjin was given a huge push by the Chinese government and its propaganda ministries to get its place in box-office history. The message that Chinese citizens, especially Communist Party cadres, have a patriotic duty to buy tickets has not been subtle. […] Beijing is offering a service to The Battle at Lake Chanjing’s producers that many Hollywood moguls would envy: arresting critics who give the film a negative review. Former journalist Luo Changping, 40, was detained and questioned two weeks ago for daring to criticize the movie and its jingoistic treatment of Chinese intervention in Korea. Chamberlain: Senate Republicans filibuster Democratic election reform bill again
Senate Republicans blocked Democrats’ latest effort to rewrite America’s election and voting laws Wednesday, as progressive activists piled on the pressure to modify the chamber’s 60-vote legislative filibuster — or scrap it completely. The motion to end debate on the measure, now known as the Freedom to Vote Act, received 49 “yea” votes and 51 “nay” votes. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) initially voted “yea” but changed his vote to “nay” so that he could bring up the motion again at a later date. […] In remarks on the Senate floor prior to the vote, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) described the bill as “only a compromise in the sense that the left and the far left argued among themselves about exactly how much power to grab in which areas.” “This latest bill still subjects popular, commonsense state election integrity protections like voter ID to the whims of federal bureaucrats,” McConnell said. “It still sends government money to political campaigns, for goodness sakes. It still puts Washington in the middle of the states’ redistricting decisions. And on and on. The same rotten core is all there.”

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the third quarter review of average weekly wages [Main Data Here]. The results of the year-over-year comparison should alarm everyone. This is a very serious data point that likely means we are in a recession, it just has not been quantified yet. […] In this graphic I have modified the spread sheet to focus attention on the part that really matters. [Original Data Table 2 Here] What you are seeing here is a comparison of weekly wages for the third quarter (July, Aug, Sept) of this year, compared to the weekly average wages in 2020: . . . Weekly wages went up a sum total of seven bucks [$7/1,000 = 0.7%] year over year. THAT is ridiculously low. However, worse yet look at all the categories of workers who saw an actual decline in wages. This is not a decline in wage value, this is an actual decline in net wages earned.

Everett & Caycle: Sinema blows up Dems’ plans to tax high earners, corporations
Democrats have a Kyrsten Sinema problem when it comes to raising taxes. As they seek to finalize President Joe Biden’s social spending plan by the end of the week, Sinema (D-Ariz.) remains opposed to one of the party’s chief goals of raising tax rates on high-income earners and corporations, a long-sought objective since former President Donald Trump signed his 2017 tax cut law. Now, party leaders are working behind the scenes to target the wealthy and corporate America without crossing what increasingly appears like a red line to Sinema, according to Democratic lawmakers and aides following the bill.
Though Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) has advocated raising rates on high-income earners, corporations and capital gains, Sinema has landed to the right of Manchin on tax policy. And Democrats need to choose, quickly, to keep trying to convince Sinema or to craft workarounds that she can accept.

Susan Davies, a former Kirkland & Ellis partner who represented Facebook and was Garland’s onetime top choice to lead the Antitrust Division, has been heading the Office of Legal Policy (OLP) since September 3 and will be until Biden’s nominee to head that office has been confirmed by the Senate. Until just a few days ago, that fact was entirely hidden from public view, which begs some questions: How is this secrecy even possible? Was Davies secretly working at DOJ in some other capacity before September 3? And are other officials whose presence has been kept from the public secretly calling the shots within the DOJ? […] That DOJ leadership was even able to hide an appointee’s presence in the first place is alarming. That that appointee’s background defending Big Tech and other corporate clients was enough to disqualify her, seemingly, from another role only makes it more so. […] And make no mistake: Susan Davies has an important position. The Office of Legal Policy sits at the center of practically all Justice Department, not to mention a sizable share of government-wide, policy. It advises all departmental components throughout the stages of regulatory development and finalization and “serves as a liaison to OMB [the Office of Management and Budget] and other agencies on regulatory matters.” OLP also coordinates the department’s efforts to advance the administration’s agenda and advises the attorney general on policy matters. In addition, it often plays a major role in selecting judicial nominees. Given its critical responsibilities and power over so many policy areas, we would hope to see someone with a record that guarantees absolute, conflict-free independence in the position.

O’Neill: Virginia county is violating election law amid governor race, lawsuit claims
Fairfax County, Virginia, officials are violating election law two weeks before the off-year gubernatorial election, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday. “We write election rules in advance so everybody knows what they are and everybody thinks it’s fair,” J. Christian Adams, president and general counsel at the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), which represents the Virginia Institute for Public Policy (VIPP) in the lawsuit, told Fox News on Wednesday. “When you start suspending rules in some counties, you run the risk that people don’t accept the results,” Adams warned. “You can’t change the rules in the middle of the game, and that’s what Fairfax is doing.”

The Biden administration on Wednesday announced its plan for vaccinating children ages 5 to 11 ahead of the FDA’s anticipated emergency use authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for kids in that age range. The administration has procured enough vaccine for 28 million children of that age group, which will be given by more than 25,000 pediatric and primary care providers, the White House said. The Department of Health and Human Services is also teaming up with the Children’s Hospital Association to set up at least 100 vaccination clinics to administer the shots. […] Ben Shapiro cited Dr. Marty Makary from John Hopkins this morning noting that only 10-20 without significant pre-existing conditions children have actually died of COVID: . . . O’Neil: Florida’s new surgeon general: Data does not support mask mandates in school
Florida‘s new surgeon general, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, argued that data does not support mask mandates in schools to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he insisted that parents — not school boards or governors — should make the decision whether their children wear masks to school.
“I want you guys to step back for a moment from what you hear sort of constantly on TV and just, very briefly in terms of the data that supports mask use in kids and mandates for masks in kids, it is very weak and that’s a fact,” Ladapo said at an event with Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., in Brevard County Wednesday.

Until negative publicity forced them to take it down, BLM’s website proclaimed: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another….” Western-prescribed? Presumably, there are no nuclear families in Africa or Asia. […] BLM echoes the screwball theories of Marx and Engels, who insisted there was an ancient, matriarchal communist society which preceded patriarchy and capitalism. They viewed the “bourgeoise family” as capitalism in miniature, with the father/husband as the owner and his wife and children as the exploited proletariat. Both will be abolished by the communist state, they predicted. Writing in the 1920s, Antonio Gramsci, the father of Cultural Marxism, reversed the equation. Since the family is the chief obstacle to revolution, its destruction must precede the triumph of communism, not follow it. Gramsci said the family will be overthrown, and society reshaped, through subversion of the culture: “In the new order, Socialism will triumph – via infiltration of schools, universities, churches, and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.” In 21st century America, the contest is being played out in the educational arena.

The totalitarian-minded education establishment and its extreme left-wing allies are starting to freak out as conservatives abandon futile efforts to “reform” government schools in favor of a mass-exodus strategy. Even powerful union bosses are starting to panic. The trend has been building quietly for years. But it has accelerated rapidly in recent months as a trickle of families fleeing the system became a tidal wave amid face-mask edicts, vaccine mandates, Critical Race Theory, Marxist indoctrination, extreme “sex education,” and other controversies.

The government and big financial institutions promote a fraudulent analysis of the cost of solar and wind electricity. Their narrative is that wind and solar are competitive with traditional fossil fuels and that the cost of wind and solar is rapidly dropping. Academics and the media amplify and spread the fraudulent analysis. The basis of the fraud is a simple comparison of the cost per kilowatt hour at the plant fence for electricity produced by wind or solar versus electricity produced by a traditional plant. Some or all of the massive subsidies for wind and solar are ignored in such comparisons. With such a rigged comparison, wind or solar may seem competitive. A proper comparison reveals that wind or solar are five or even ten times more expensive than natural gas or coal electricity. To understand why this is so, we have to explain some basic facts that apply to either wind or solar.
