Rigolizzo: Supreme Court Sides With Cops In ‘Excessive Force’ Qualified Immunity Cases
“Qualified Immunity” has become a hot topic in debates around police reform. According to the Supreme Court, Qualified Immunity “shields officers from civil liability so long as their conduct ‘does not violate clearly established statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known.’”
Qualified Immunity applies to cases “when an official’s conduct does not violate clearly established statutory or constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known.” The two cases, Rivas-Villegas v. Cortesluna and City of Tahlequah, Oklahoma v. Rollice, were decided Monday morning in per curiam decisions, made by the whole court.

[…] Stephanopoulos’ goal, of course, is to convince uninformed viewers—in other words, most of Stephanopoulos’ audience on any given day—that Steele was working in an official national security capacity instead of as a Democratic political operative paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee to dig up dirt on Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential race.

Anderson: Local Gov’t Employees Took Hundreds of Hours of Paid Time Off To Elect Warnock, Docs Show
A pair of highly paid Atlanta government employees took hundreds of hours of paid time off to consult for Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D., Ga.) political campaign, a double dip that saw them rake in nearly $100,000. According to campaign finance records, Phillana Williams and Erica Pines received a combined $97,500 from Warnock during the Georgia Senate runoff elections. Williams and Pines held six-figure salary jobs with the city of Atlanta throughout the election period, during which the operatives took a combined 297 hours in paid vacation time, payroll records provided by the city of Atlanta show.
The move allowed Williams and Pines to minimize their public service responsibilities as they raked in lucrative payments from taxpayers and the Warnock campaign. A veteran Georgia political operative told the Washington Free Beacon that while congressional staffers often take time off “to lend a hand in the closing weeks of their boss’s campaign,” that time is unpaid.

There are 205 million legally eligible U.S. workers between 15 and 74-years-old (census figures) with a workforce participation rate of 61% (BLS figures) which would equal 125 million legally eligible workers. However, the Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the number of working Americans at 161 million workers (BLS figures). The majority of the difference between the two figures are most likely illegal alien workers (yeah, lots of them). Approximately 40 percent of the eligible population are not working. […] If we split the difference (census -vs- BLS) and take the mid-point at 140 million workers, then 60 million workers refusing the vaccine mandate represents about 40 percent of the entire population of eligible workers. Put another way, in the best case scenario, if 60 million people quit working or were fired, the national unemployment rate would be at least 35% ! What we call the United States doesn’t function with 35% unemployment; systems of commerce start to collapse, then government, then civil society.

[…] So yes, I’m pro-vaccine. I also generally get the flu vaccine every year. I even got a shot last year, although for some peculiar reason, influenza vanished last winter while COVID was enjoying its greatest reign of terror. […] But one thing I never thought of doing was forcing my neighbors to get vaccinated against the flu. Did you know that influenza kills as many as 50,000 Americans a year? A professor of internal medicine, Moss has published more than 150 scientific peer-reviewed articles and published more than 20 book chapters in medical textbooks. Hooker and Moss sorted through the latest developments in the COVID pandemic, including the federal response to the current wave of the Delta variant. Hooker asked Moss about his progress working with West Virginians for Health Freedom. Moss said it’s becoming increasingly difficult to opt out of the childhood vaccination program across the U.S. “Even physicians who used to write medical exemptions in the state no longer do so,” . . .

And for mentioning ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine as similar safe and potentially very effective therapeutics. Here are a couple more to be considered. (Please note that I am not a physician, and I am not dispensing medical advice. I’m just commenting on publicly available information.) Bromhexine, an ingredient found in some cough suppressants, may work due to its protease-inhibitor functions, according to a paper released in May 2020. It appears to have use as both a prophylactic and a treatment.
A number of antihistamines, including diphenhydramine, sold under label as Benadryl and found in many other OTC formulations, seem to be effective against SARS-CoV2. This information was released in January 2021. So much observational data has come out since the beginning of this pandemic. So many potential therapeutic and preventative treatments, yet so little interest on the part of medical boards and policymakers. What’s going on here?

A recent PUBMED study by Dr. Peter McCullough used data from the Vaccine Adverse Events Reports System (VAERS) to examine cardiac adverse events (AEs)—specifically myocarditis—following the injection of the first or second dose of one of the three experimental COVID-19 “vaccines” currently being administered under emergency use authorization (EUA) in an “unprecedented fashion.” The study revealed it is safe to assume the reporting of heart-related complications, including myocarditis, in VAERS is not rare, but instead, just the “tip of the iceberg.” Co-authored with Dr. Jessica Rose, the peer-reviewed, approved, and published paper, titled “A Report on Myocarditis Adverse Events in the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event System (VAERS) in Association with COVID-19 Injectable Biological Products,” was abruptly removed from publication after being fully accepted with executed publishing agreements.

U.S. President Joe Biden can reestablish deterrence by offering Taiwan a mutual defense treaty. If he does not want to do that, he should either base American nuclear weapons in Taiwan or transfer such weapons to the island so it can defend itself. In the 1980s, the U.S. beefed up deterrence of the Soviet Union by basing nuclear-tipped Pershing missiles in Europe. China, in short, apparently believes it can run over America to make Taiwan its 34th province. To disabuse Chinese aggressors at this late date, the U.S. should ditch the decades-old “strategic ambiguity,” the policy of not telling either Beijing or Taipei what it would do when conflict was imminent, and publicly offer Taipei a mutual defense treaty.

It is the latest show of aggression from Kim Jong Un’s regime amid years of stalled denuclearization talks between Pyongyang and the United States. The development comes roughly three weeks after North Korea launched a short-range missile into the sea. A day later, the hermit nation claimed it fired a “hypersonic” missile for the first time, a warfare technology being developed by superpowers including the United States and China that could be used to carry nuclear warheads.

Chinese messaging platform WeChat – which President Trump sought to ban from operating in the United States – has admitted to regularly scanning users’ photos even while the app isn’t in use. WeChat – which saw the Trump-era efforts to ban it halted by Joe Biden’s Commerce Department – confessed to the disturbing and intrusive practice after an exposé by a tech influencer known as “Hacklous”.
