NOTABLE QUOTES

John Hinderaker contributor to PowerLine Blog questions Biden’s proposal to require banks to report inflow and outflow information on all accounts with more than $600 or more than $600 in transactions: The Democrats have politicized one federal agency after another, and they have weaponized the IRS, in particular, to weaken their political opponents. I have zero confidence that the IRS wouldn’t selectively use this new data source to target Republicans in general, and vocal opponents of the Biden administration in particular. On the contrary, experience suggests that this is exactly what they would do. That being the case, and given the broader concerns about privacy that most Americans share, the last thing I want to do is give the Biden administration private information about essentially every bank account in the U.S.

Asar Nomani contributor to The Federalist: Instead of recognizing a mom as the hero that she is for protecting children from porn and pedophilia in school libraries, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has issued a declaration of war on America’s parents. It’s now the United States vs. America’s parents.

Greg Piper contributor to Just the News: DOJ said in a press release that it would create “specialized training” for school boards and administrators to identify threats, report it to law enforcement and “capture and preserve evidence” to aid in prosecutions. A task force is also planned that includes the department’s Criminal Division and National Security Division. It will determine how to prosecute these crimes and assist state and local law enforcement “where threats of violence may not constitute federal crimes,” the agency said.

Parents Defending Education: “The association of legitimate protest with terrorism and violence reveals both your contempt for parents and your unwillingness to understand and hear the sincere cries of parents on behalf of their children.”

Bruce Thornton contributor to Frontpage Magazine: . . . the old bad habit of people thinking they are smarter than they are, the feckless subjection of millions to an educational establishment corrupted by bogus scientism, and the fetishizing of “science” and an uncritical deference to its authority have all created “educated idiots,” people devoid of common sense, moral intelligence, and traditional wisdom––a recipe for civilizational corruption and decline

PRESIDENT TRUMP

Solomon: Trump slams DOJ plan to monitor parents fighting ‘radical left school boards’ over CRT in classrooms
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday denounced the Justice Department for asking the FBI to investigate parents who are pressuring school boards to stop teaching critical race theory, saying it was part of a larger leftist agenda to sideline moms and dads from having a say over their children’s future. “It’s very tough because the parents are very wounded by what’s taken place by, in many cases, radical left school boards,” Trump said during an interview with Just the News on the John Solomon Reports podcast. “And you would certainly think they have a voice — and they have a voice — as to how their children are going to be educated, brought up and educated.”

HOW TO SAVE AMERICA:  THE TENTH AMENDMENT

Lyles: Tyranny Negation with Nullification
The alleged “Nullification Powers” of the individual States are likely the only powers capable of saving us in this age of a tyrannical, lawless and unconstitutional Federal Government. The power of the States to nullify unlawful Federal edicts is ostensibly hidden in plain sight within the single sentence that comprises the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the People.” The Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution serves as a sort of exclamation point for the message conveyed throughout the Constitution: The powers of the Federal Government are intended to be the least of the powers governing our country—and in particular powers that are well-circumscribed, specific, and limited. All remaining power is to be vested in the States and the People. And where there is confusion, the power of the individual States, and the People, supersedes. Lamentably, the Supreme Court has never upheld the ‘nullification interpretation’ of the Tenth Amendment, citing the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause to mean Federal law is superior to State law. And since Federal law—in particular Article III—grants the Supreme Court sole authority to interpret the constitutionality of Federal law, this means there is no role for the States to do so. But logic suggests that the Constitution’s Bill of Rights contains the Tenth Amendment for a reason. Moreover, since the Bill of Rights is comprised of the first Ten Amendments to the Constitution it is only logical to presume that when the Tenth Amendment was written it obviously took into account the language already written and present in the Constitution. Clearly, then, the authors of the Bill of Rights believed the Tenth Amendment provided some sort of useful function to the States—some significant degree of power to the States—that would at minimum justify the ink used to print it. And if this were the case isn’t it prudent to consider that such powers must need be  consequential—such as the power to defy a federal law or edict the State thinks unlawful –  or even unconstitutional?

U.S. SUPREME COURT

Kathawa: No New Souters
On abortion, Justice Kavanaugh must meet the moment—and defy the haters. David H. Souter was nominated (and confirmed) in 1990 to replace liberal lion Justice William Brennan, a stalwart defender of the “living Constitution.” Before that, Souter spent seven years as a justice of New Hampshire’s highest court, during which time his views on contentious constitutional questions were not at all illuminated. Thereafter, he was a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit for a mere six months before he was nominated to the Supreme Court of the United States. Relative to the “controversial” Robert H. Bork, who had been rejected by the Senate in 1987, Souter had essentially no paper trail. It is astonishing in retrospect to consider that conservatives saw this thin record as features, not bugs, of Souter’s allure. They believed, despite all the evidence, that Souter would “provide the decisive fifth vote for a broad counterrevolution in constitutional law.” We all know how that turned out. […]  Three decades later, the right to abortion is once again at issue. The court will hear arguments on December 1, 2021 in a major abortion case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, and it will issue a decision the following June, just as it did in Casey. Now as then, Republican-appointed justices comprise a supermajority of the Court: 8-1 in 1992, 6-3 now. Now as then, whether to uphold Roe is squarely presented. Now as then, its fate rests in the hands of one robed man—Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh. There is cause for alarm.

ADI Staff Reporter: Ducey Pushes Back Against Treasury Threat To Defund Mask Mandate Protections For Families
On Tuesday, the U.S. Treasury Department advised Governor Doug Ducey that his administration’s use of federal funds to give parents a choice of schools in order to protect children from questionable COVID-19 protocols will not be tolerated. Ducey responded defiantly in a string on Twitter: . . .
[…]  In August, Ducey announced that his administration was providing $163 million in grants for public and charter schools that were in compliance with a law passed by the Legislature this year that prohibited mask mandates in schools. Ducey also made available $10 million in federal funds to provide up to $7,000 per student to families who were forced to find new schools for their children because their original schools refused to follow Arizona law. In a letter to Ducey, Deputy Treasury Secretary Adewale Adeyemo claimed . . . […]  Adeyemo told Ducey that the state had 30 days to . . .

ELECTION NEW

Anderson: Dark Money Dems Use Fake Newspaper To Influence Virginia Election
Democratic dark money kingpin David Brock is using his “pseudo-news outlet” to send Virginia voters unsolicited mailers that falsely attack Republican gubernatorial nominee Glenn Youngkin. Brock in September bombarded voters in the state’s northern suburbs with an unsolicited “Virginia edition” of his liberal media outlet, The American Independent, photos obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show. The 11-page mailer—which is designed to look like a local newspaper—includes misleading content that echoes Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe’s campaign messaging. One page, for example, . . .
[…]  The mailers mark the latest attempt by a well-funded liberal group to influence elections with fake news. Liberal activist Tara McGowan launched Courier Newsroom in 2019 through her dark money group, ACRONYM. The media company aims to “build nimble communications infrastructure for Dems in critical states,” an internal memo obtained by Vice states. The Center for Responsive Politics admonished both Courier and The American Independent in a 2020 article, which referred to the sites as “pseudo-news outlets”  that are “pouring millions of ‘dark money’ dollars into ads and digital content masquerading as news to influence” elections.

MANDATED VACCINATIONS: UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES?

Davidson: Vaccine Mandates From Private Employers Are Destroying American Livelihoods
A growing number of Americans are facing the imminent loss of their livelihoods, economic uncertainty, and in some cases financial ruin, not because of mass layoffs prompted by economic recession or the collapse of their industries, but simply because they refuse to get a COVID-19 shot. These workers occupy every corner of the American economy, from health care to entertainment, law enforcement to IT, food service to academia. What unites them is the firm belief that they should not be forced to get a COVID-19 vaccine, whether by the government or their employer, under the threat of losing their job. As vaccine mandate deadlines loom, this threat is becoming a reality.

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN & NOW PARENTS

Nomani: Across America, Parents Refuse To Be Intimidated By Biden’s Attorney General Labeling Them Domestic Terrorists
Local mother Stacy Langton stood before the Fairfax County School Board in a suburb of the nation’s capital two weeks ago, boldly exposing explicit examples of child porn and pedophilia in library books in area schools, available to children as young as 12 years old. Langton’s witness ended in mayhem because the school board failed to do something very simple: listen to the stakeholders — and taxpayers — who are parents. Board members rudely interrupted Langton during her two minutes of allotted speaking time and called a hasty recess, a board member later incorrectly claiming that he faced two “exorcisms” by parents praying during the meeting. “Shame! Shame! Shame!” shouted parents, horrified at the cowardice of the board members. Now, however, instead of recognizing Langton for the hero that she is for protecting children, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has issued a declaration of war on America’s parents. “I am directing the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working with each United States Attorney, to … [address] threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff,” he wrote in a memo to FBI Director Christopher Wray and the U.S. attorneys generals on Monday night.
Langton, of course, didn’t threaten anyone. But in this war, facts don’t matter. […]  It’s now the United States vs. America’s parents.

Sand: California’s Children Are Property Of The State
Mandatory vaccines and behind-your-back child mutilation are in the works. California has a long history of “firsts.” The Golden State was home to the first computer, the first movie theater, and, importantly, the first martini. Sadly, the state is now leading the nation in abusing children. […]  Additionally, the Sacramentotalitarians have decided to break into your home in a most evil way. On September 22, AB 1184, which was cosponsored by Planned Parenthood, became law. As the California Family Council explains, this diktat “prohibits insurance companies from revealing to the policyholder the ‘sensitive services’ of anyone on their policy, including minor children, even though the policy owner is financially responsible for the services.” The term “sensitive services” refers to all health care services related to mental or behavioral health, sexual and reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections, substance use disorder, gender affirming care, etc. The bill doesn’t detail the kindly sounding “gender affirming care,” but as defined by the University of California, San Francisco, it’s hormone therapy and a laundry list of surgeries including vaginectomy, scrotoplasty, voice modification, etc., ad nauseam. And all these goodies start when the child is 12 years old!

(REPOST that must be watched) 2009: Arne Duncan on Charlie Rose
Obama’s Sec. of Education Arne Duncan on the Charlie Rose show.  He discussed the impact of community schools on children, families and neighborhoods.  [NOTE: This is government central planning with the ultimate goal of displacing the nuclear family. According to Duncan, government run public schools will become the centers of community life. The insightful interview  goes a long way to explain why, in 2021, the U.S. Government is now targeting America’s parents.]

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING FOREIGN POLICY

Cooper: Five Eyes wide shut
Should South Korea join the Five Eyes intelligence sharing network? A proposal put forward by legislators in the U.S. House of Representatives is triggering a discussion about that possibility. An amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 would require that the U.S. Director of National Intelligence provide a report to the armed services and intelligence committees on expanding intelligence sharing with South Korea as well as Japan, India, and Germany. […]  But leaders in Washington and Seoul must be realistic that adding South Korea (or others) to Five Eyes is ultimately unlikely. Yes – South Korea and the United States are close allies with many interests and values in common. And yes, they do already have robust bilateral (and sometimes trilateral) intelligence sharing efforts. But there are at least five major challenges that make South Korean membership in Five Eyes hard to imagine in the near-term. First, the Five Eyes countries benefit from a common language and a shared historical connection rooted in British rule. South Korea and other potential additions to Five Eyes do not share these characteristics, which raises the bar for their efforts to join the group. The Five Eyes governments all operate in English (although not all exclusively), so adding Korea could complicate interoperability and potentially slow day-to-day cooperation. Overcoming this barrier might be relatively easy for the United States, but harder for other partners with less of a presence in Korea. Second, . . .

(June 2021) Easton: Will America Defend Taiwan? Here’s What History Says
In December 1949, Chiang Kai-shek moved the capitol of the Republic of China (ROC) to Taipei. He intended the relocation to be temporary. He had already moved his government multiple times: when the Empire of Japan invaded China, when World War II ended, and again when Mao Zedong’s Communist insurgents took the upper hand in the Chinese Civil War. To Chiang’s eyes, Taiwan was the perfect place to refit his tattered forces and prepare them for the long struggle ahead to defeat the Communists. The main island was protected by dozens of tiny island citadels, many just off the mainland coast, and surrounded by famously rough waters. While Chiang’s army had sustained crushing battlefield defeats and mass defections, he believed his superior navy and air force would make Taiwan an impregnable fortress. The events that followed presented successive U.S. presidents with some of the most consequential foreign policy questions ever confronted by America’s leaders. During the decades since 1949, there have been several incidents that tested whether or not Washington was willing to confront the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and support Taiwan. If past is prologue, how the United States responded to previous crises might say something important about what it will do in the future. So, what does the historical record say? What might we expect to see if China attacks Taiwan in the 2020s or beyond?

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Burns: State Department discloses number of nukes in US stockpile
In a reversal of Trump administration policy, the State Department on Tuesday disclosed the number of nuclear weapons in the U.S. stockpile. It said this will aid global efforts to control the spread of such weapons. The number of U.S. weapons, including those in active status as well as those in long-term storage, stood at 3,750 as of September 2020, the department said. That is down from 3,805 a year earlier and 3,785 in 2018.

Smith & Stimson: Why Rachael Rollins’ Nomination to Be Rogue U.S. Attorney Should Terrify Us All
Cotton said that “Rachael Rollins is the very epitome of a Soros prosecutor”—we call them rogue prosecutors—because of her radical pro-criminal, anti-victim policies that harm victims, harm communities, and attempt to fundamentally transform our criminal justice system. Cotton said, “Rollins, like San Francisco’s Chesa Boudin and Philadelphia’s Larry Krasner and Los Angeles’ George Gascon, are out to destroy the criminal justice system from within.”

Greenfield: An Afghanistan Grows In Wisconsin
The skies over Sparta have never been as busy as when the Biden administration decided to dispatch 13,000 Afghans, including at least one pedophile, to Wisconsin. Sparta, a small town of less than ten thousand souls, whose claim to fame is being the “Bicycling Capital of America”, could only watch as a population of Afghans outnumbering its own population created a new Afghanistan on the premises of Fort McCoy. None of the Afghans at Fort McCoy have a Special Immigrant Visa. Biden left the SIV visa holders behind in Afghanistan. The Afghans who have overrun the Wisconsin base are the ones whom the Taliban, for their own reasons, decided to allow through their checkpoints. And they’re living up to the high cultural standards of the Taliban. The problems began with the toilets. Then there were issues with the rice, the sexual abuse of young boys, and Afghans simply leaving on their own despite promises of taxpayer cash.

(9/23/21) Sperry: Biden Security Adviser Jake Sullivan Tied to Alleged 2016 Clinton Scheme to Co-Opt the CIA and FBI to Tar Trump
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan figures prominently in a grand jury investigation run by Special Counsel John Durham into an alleged 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign scheme to use both the FBI and CIA to tar Donald Trump as a colluder with Russia, according to people familiar with the criminal probe, which they say has broadened into a conspiracy case. Sullivan is facing scrutiny, sources say, over potentially false statements he made about his involvement in the effort, which continued after the election and into 2017. As a senior foreign policy adviser to Clinton, Sullivan spearheaded what was known inside her campaign as a “confidential project” to link Trump to the Kremlin through dubious email-server records provided to the agencies, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity. […]  The sources close to the case confirmed the “foreign policy adviser” referenced by title is Sullivan.

AMAC Newsline: The Democratic Megadonor and The Rising Crime Rate
In recent months, Democrats have waged a public crusade against the supposed malign influence of so-called “dark money” groups in American elections. Democrats like Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse have made a career grandstanding on the issue, alleging that Republican politicians receive huge sums of money from shadowy organizations hell-bent on increasing the power of their ultra-rich anonymous donors. Now, however, politicians like Whitehouse have been exposed for their own involvement in dark money schemes, and even the liberal media admit that Democrats accept far more funding than Republicans from dark money groups. But of all the Democrat megadonors fueling the progressive push to remake America, perhaps none has been more effective than billionaire George Soros and his stealth campaign to radicalize the American justice system. According to recent financial disclosures highlighted by Sean Kennedy, President of the organization Virginia for Safe Communities, Soros, a Hungarian-born former hedge fund manager, has directly or indirectly funded dozens of far-left candidates in local district attorney (DA) elections across the country, largely through various Political Action Committees (PACs) and super PACs. While Soros funding Democrat candidates is nothing new, his specific targeting of DA races has been shockingly effective and deeply detrimental to public safety.

Caralle: White House refuses to say whether Hunter Biden has divested his 10% investment in a Chinese firm after Psaki said he is a ‘private citizen and not part of the administration’
The White House wouldn’t say Monday whether Hunter Biden has sold his 10 per cent stake in a Chinese private equity firm despite President Joe Biden’s campaign promise that his family would steer clear of foreign business dealings. In a tense briefing room exchange, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told a reporter for Newsmax to not yell when asking about the president’s son’s involvement with Bohai Harvest RST Equity Investment Fund Management Co. ‘I’d point you to his representatives on that. He doesn’t work in the administration,’ Psaki said.

Rosiak: Victory For Parents As Judge Sides With Loudoun Parents, Against Prosecutor On School Board Recall
A judge on Tuesday thwarted a far-left prosecutor who likely would have blocked citizens from recalling a Loudoun County school board member, ruling that the process of recalling Beth Barts, who was censured for repeatedly attacking parents, can proceed under a special prosecutor instead. After Barts was stripped of her committee duties following partisan activism that frequently took the form of attacking parents, she summoned a mob of vigilantes in an “anti-racist” Facebook group who threatened to “hack” opinionated parents, with a sheriff’s investigation concluding that the parents were largely put in the crosshairs for questioning the extended school closures pushed by teachers unions.

Calicchio: Biden faces hostile Michigan protesters as he arrives to promote stalling agenda
At one point, the protesters cheered when a green front-end loader with a “No Biden” sign traveled down the road, according to the newspaper. Another sign in the crowd read, “Build Back Broke,” the Detroit News reported. […]  Many in the crowd told FOX 2 of Detroit that they didn’t like the size of the Democrats’ proposed $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill or the $3.5 trillion so-called reconciliation bill of safety-net spending that most members of Biden’s party hope to pass as a package. “The money has to come from somewhere,” protester Londa Gatt told FOX 2. “You can’t keep printing it.”
