NOTABLE QUOTES

Joy Pullmann contributor to The Federalist: It has been clear since the Obama years that the left has abandoned the rule of law, constitutional norms, even the commitments to objective truth and open inquiry that are required for scientific pursuit and rational discourse. Yet Republican leaders are somehow still playing a pre-Obama fantasy game that exists only in their heads.

Justin Haskins contributor to The Federalist exposes the National Archives’ efforts to “recontextualize” our founding documents:  . . . the National Archives’ decision to post a “Harmful Language Alert” banner above documents in its digital archives, including the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. According to the Archives’ warning, its documents include many “outdated, biased, offensive, and possibly violent views and opinions,” as well as documents that “reflect racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes.”

Josiah Lippincott contributor to The American Mind: Our generals are losers abroad, and grifters at home.

Maker S. Mark contributor to American Thinker explains why Biden targets the unvaccinated: . . . without a compliant populace, “The Great Reset” in the U.S. is stalled.  The current White House occupant is upset because we will not provide the unconditional compliance that he has demanded — now or ever

Alex Berenson in his daily report, Unreported Truths:  British doctors now openly beg for more lockdowns because they say they can’t rely on vaccines. This new piece from Reuters – hardly a outpost of anti-vax fanaticism – should terrify vaccine advocates. And, honestly, scare the rest of us. A reminder: Britain has pursued a mass vaccination strategy as aggressively as any country. It approved Pfizer’s vaccine even before the FDA. More than 80% of Britons are now fully vaccinated. But Britain is in far worse shape than it was at this time last year, when no one was vaccinated. It is now averaging about 140 deaths a day, roughly 10 times as many as mid-September 2020. And hospitalizations and deaths continue to rise.

Ben Wetmore contributor to Gateway Pundit:  Dr. Mollie James estimated that in her intensive care unit in New York City, or ICU, with a major medical chain, she sees 30% or more who clearly have complications after having received the vaccine. “There is clearly an increased risk of strokes, heart attack, blood clots, autoimmune issues, arterial issues, and neurological issues associated with the vaccine that are not being tracked because politics is demanding that the vaccine be considered perfect.

Victor David Hanson contributor to PJ Media:  Science is dying; superstition disguised as morality is returning. And we all will soon become poorer, angrier and more divided.

Dr. Marty Makary Johns Hopkins physician: If you had chicken pox as a kid the CDC says you shouldn’t get the chicken pox vaccine because you have natural immunity. So why doesn’t CDC say the same thing about those of us who already had covid?

Jack Cashill contributor to American Thinker points out how Biden’s vaccine mandate speech hoisted the pro-abortion movement’s “My Body, My Choice” on their own petard: On the same Thursday Harris was endorsing “My Body, My Choice,” Biden was endorsing “drastic and Spartan methods.”  Death came suddenly to the old mantra, if not unexpectedly. Just 79 minutes after Harris breathed new life into it, President Joe Biden put the mantra out of its misery. Biden told America in no uncertain terms that the right of women to make decisions about their own bodies is his, not theirs. Going forward the new understanding is, “Your Body, My Choice.”

Matthew Boose contributor to American Greatness: If we are still wearing masks 20 years from now, it will not be on those who protested despite overwhelming pressure to conform, but the mobs of fanatics who hollered and screamed for their destruction.

JOHN DURHAM INVESTIGATION

Sundance: New York Times Uses 4 Narrative Engineers To Spin Defensive Tale Protecting One of Their Perkins Coie Sources Michael Sussmann

The New York Times needed to put four of their top Trump-Russia narrative engineers on a defensive story about John Durham possibly indicting Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussmann over his involvement in pushing the Trump-Russia fraud to the FBI on behalf of Hillary Clinton. Michael Sussmann was one of the primary story-tellers used by The New York Times as a source to write articles about the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory.  Durham might indict Sussmann for lying to the FBI because Sussmann said he wasn’t working for Hillary Clinton, yet Sussmann billed Hillary Clinton for the hours he spent pushing the Trump-Russia story. Yeah, that might be a problem. The wording of The Times story is rather humorous in their collective effort to retain credibility and yet draw some distance from their ally now under scrutiny.  Keep in mind, as you read this paragraph, Sussmann hired Crowdstrike, the cyber security firm who claimed the DNC was hacked by Russians and generated the Alfa bank conspiracy theory: . . . […]  Someone, likely from the Clinton camp, then killed Seth Rich. TechnoFog has a great summary article of how Michael Sussmann is legally exposed.

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Stephen Miller: No one elected Mark Milley
A coup by any other name and maybe even a little light treason. Those are the accusations flying over revelations in a new Bob Woodward book about what Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley did after the January 6 Capitol riots. Milley reportedly held several phone calls shortly after January 6, with both Speaker Nancy Pelosi and with his counterpart in China. According to Woodward, the general gave assurances to Gen. Li Zuocheng that he would alert the Chinese to any possible coming attack, nuclear or otherwise. There is no evidence President Trump was planning any kind of strike against China, or Iran, or Florida. No battle plans were being drawn. Miller supposedly took these actions after Trump signed an executive order removing US forces from Afghanistan. Woodward and Robert Costa write that Milley was concerned that Trump would ‘go rogue’ post election loss.  Milley held meeting and phone calls without Trump’s knowledge and directed staff, ‘No matter what you are told, you do the procedure. You do the process. And I’m part of that procedure.’  Milley then went around the room to each general and demanded what the book is calling ‘an oath’. The trouble is, Milley wasn’t legally granted any of these extraordinary powers.

Lippincott: Deep State, Deep Trouble
Our generals are losers abroad, and grifters at home. They parrot MSNBC talking points on Twitter and grovel before Fauci. This is bad enough. But Milley’s actions show that America’s top military officers have reached another level of delusion. They fancy themselves a new praetorian guard to protect the nation—as construed by elite editorial boards—from the people’s elected representatives. This deep state is in control. It is clear that no populist elected leader can trust America’s security establishment. As Senator Chuck Schumer warned President Trump on Rachel Maddow’s show in 2017, the intelligence community has “six ways from Sunday of getting back at you.”  […]  There will be no hearings, serious journalistic investigations, or outcry from the establishment. Milley will go unpunished. He will retire with full honors and full pension. The Pentagon will never reform itself from the inside. The entire military-industrial complex (MIC) must be dismantled if we are ever to have again an armed forces consistent with the Founders’ republican virtues. The American Right must be willing to starve the Pentagon of its lifeblood.

GOP

Pullmann: What A Competent Republican Party Would Be Doing About Democrats’ Tyranny
It has been clear since the Obama years that the left has abandoned the rule of law, constitutional norms, even the commitments to objective truth and open inquiry that are required for scientific pursuit and rational discourse. Yet Republican leaders are somehow still playing a pre-Obama fantasy game that exists only in their heads. It’s hard to understand how people who were not only merely alive but full-time, 24/7 politicos in 2008 and going forward haven’t in the decade since figured out the new norms that have been imposed on American governance and applied that information to shift their behavior accordingly. We’re talking the era of Mr. “Pen and Phone” Obama, who openly celebrated disregarding American legal precedent, norms, and restraints for one-man rule restrained only by how much he thought the demos would tolerate at the time, with the Wilsonian goal of pushing them ever further the moment it became possible.

DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN

Boyd: Babies could be given Pfizer’s Covid vaccine in the US this winter: Company plans to seek approval for jabbing six-month-olds in November
In a move likely to cause international controversy, the company intends to apply for authorisation to immunise American infants within the next two months. The timeline will depend on the findings of in-house trials looking into whether the vaccines are safe and effective in youngsters aged six months to five years. Frank D’Amelio, chief financial officer at Pfizer, told an industry conference yesterday that the firm plans to ‘go file’ by November, the Financial Times reports. ‘We would expect to have… data for children between the ages of six months and five years old that we would file with the FDA,’ D’Amelio said at the Morgan Stanley Global Healthcare Conference. ‘I’ll call it in the weeks shortly thereafter the filing of the data for the five- to 11-year-olds.’

Brownlee & Lenzer: When It Comes to the Delta Variant, the Kids Are All Right
There’s little evidence that the Delta variant is more dangerous for kids than earlier versions of the virus. It spreads more easily, yes, but the minuscule death rate among infected children continues to drop compared with versions of the virus circulating last year. By the end of July 2021, more than 80 percent of COVID-19 cases (adults and children) were caused by the Delta variant, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That sounds like an alarming statistic, and in some ways, it is. But when it comes to children, the facts don’t merit panic.

CHINA AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY

(Updated) Greenfield: Biden Denies Xi Turned Him Down for Summit, But Sources Confirm
Weakness is never rewarded except by the weak. Biden’s humiliating collapse in Afghanistan was sold as part of a pivot to dealing with China. That was the same excuse that the Obama administration used for its Iraq pullout. The actual pivot never happened. And even Biden’s pleas to be taken seriously are being ignored. Yesterday I covered the humiliating reception that John Kerry, Biden’s climate envoy, got in Communist China. […] Attempts to escalate matters to a summit between Xi and Biden are going nowhere. Chinese President Xi Jinping snubbed President Biden’s request last week for an in-person summit to smooth over relations that were soured by Chinese human rights abuses and secrecy about the origins of COVID-19, according to a new report. Biden told Xi on Thursday during a 90-minute call that he wanted to have the meeting to achieve better relations, but Xi “did not take him up on the offer and instead insisted Washington adopt a less strident tone towards Beijing,” Financial Times reports. This should sound familiar because it’s exactly what Kerry was told in China. […] The situation is humiliating enough that Biden is denying it happened.. . . The Financial Times cited multiple people briefed on a 90-minute call between the two leaders last week as saying . . .

FAUCI’S VIRUS: IT’S POLITICAL

EXCLUSIVE: COVID Whistleblower Claims the VAERS Reporting Database Tracking Vaccine Complications is WRONG and Undercounting by a Factor of 100!
Dr. Mollie James, the courageous COVID whistleblower who has come forward denouncing the Biden vaccine mandates, has shockingly claimed that the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, known as VAERS, the national database that tracks complications and side effects from vaccines, is so widely underused that the real number of COVID vaccine complications is more than 100 times what is currently being reported. If true, this means that the political decision to force vaccines on the public and on entire industries could come with major, long-term, serious health consequences that are poorly understood because the political agenda is suffocating the scientific collection of data. Dr. James points to peer-reviewed studies and surveys that show the VAERS system is off by a factor of 100, and says this matches her own experiences.

VDH: ‘Science,’ They Said
The scientific method used to govern much of popular American thinking. In empirical fashion scientists advised us to examine evidence and data, and then by induction come to rational hypotheses. The enemies of “science” were politics, superstition, bias, and deduction. Yet we are now returning to our version of medieval alchemy and astrology in rejecting a millennium of the scientific method.  Take the superstitions that now surround COVID-19. We now know from data that a prior case of COVID offers immunity as robust as vaccination—if not better. Why then are Joe Biden’s various proposed vaccination mandates ignoring that scientific fact? Dr. Anthony Fauci, when asked, seemed at a loss for words.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME:TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Winters: Biden’s Export-Import Bank Nominee Advises Chinese Communists on ‘Access To US Government.’
Reta Jo Lewis, Joe Biden’s nominee for President and Chair of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, has collaborated with various Chinese Communist Party-funded influence groups flagged by the U.S. government for seeking to coerce American officials into adopting “Beijing’s preferred policies,” The National Pulse can reveal. The National Pulse can also exclusively report that Lewis serves on the board of the Greater Washington China Investment Center (GWCIC), which describes itself as a “public-private partnership designed to help small to mid-sized Chinese companies seeking to go global with a guided entrance to the U.S. market.” GWCIC President Bill Black’s bio boasts about his advisory roles with blacklisted telecommunications firm Huawei.

Labeling The Founding Documents ‘Offensive’ Is Just The Beginning Of The National Archives’ Spiteful Plans
By rewriting America’s history and ‘recontextualizing’ her founding documents, Biden’s National Archives is seeking to undermine our country’s founders. Words matter, and few words have mattered more in the history of the United States than those contained within the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and other founding-era documents stewarded by the National Archives. Protecting and celebrating the most important works in U.S. history isn’t only important because the Constitution and Bill of Rights, as well as other documents in the National Archives, are still legally binding, but also because they tell a story of who we are as a nation and what it means to be American. Today leftists, including many officials in the Biden administration, are actively working to rewrite that story, and to undermine every part of America’s exceptional past. [NOTE: Are you aware that cursive writing  is no longer  taught in a majority of government run public schools? Perhaps one reason might be that the original founding documents are written in cursive.]

Freedman: Biden’s Vaccine Mandate Is Unconstitutional
Leaving aside the merits of a vaccine mandate, such decisions properly belong to the states, not the federal government. Supreme Court precedents on the validity of vaccine mandates—Jacobson v. Massachusetts (1905) and Zucht v. King (1922), both involving smallpox vaccination—involve state, not federal, laws. The Court has never suggested that Congress could adopt such a mandate, and for good reason. In our federal system, states enjoy broad “police powers” to enact laws designed to protect the health and safety of their citizens, whereas the central government has only those powers enumerated in the Constitution. The Tenth Amendment further guarantees that states retain the powers not specifically delegated to the federal government. None of this was considered controversial a mere 17 months ago. When Donald Trump declared in April 2020 that the president possesses “total authority” over coronavirus restrictions, the mainstream media was quick to criticize him. An NPR “fact check” featured criticism of Trump by various legal scholars, including Cornell Law’s Kathleen Bergin, who observed that coronavirus measures such as social distancing or the decision to open schools or businesses are “matters for states to decide under their power to promote public health and welfare, a power guaranteed by the 10th Amendment to the Constitution.” A CNN fact check noted that “there is no legislation that explicitly gives the President the power to override states’ public health measures.” Democratic governors jealously guarded their prerogatives. Then-governor Andrew Cuomo of New York rebuked Trump: “We have a Constitution. We don’t have a king.” Assertions of federal authority must be grounded in some constitutional grant of power. The most common basis for federal intervention in private affairs is the Constitution’s  . . .

Barkoukis: How Many Afghan Refugees Are Headed to Your State? Here Are the Numbers.
The administration plans to resettle 65,000 Afghans by the end of September, and 30,000 more by September 2022. While the Associated Press first reported on the numbers, Axios presented the data more clearly.

Lukas: Inside Democrats’ Plan To Indoctrinate Your Toddlers In Preschool
The mammoth budget resolution working its way through Congress allocates hundreds of billions of dollars for childcare and preschool. It would likely require states to develop and submit childcare plans. Parents have every reason to fear that a government-approved preschool and daycare program would create the same problems parents face in K-12 public schools. The federal government may promise just to partner with states and localities by providing taxpayer funding, but it will also set regulations and expectations for who can staff these preschool and childcare centers and what must occur in these facilities. Indeed, the White House gave a preview of what this would look like when describing President Biden’s so-called American Families Plan, most of which has been absorbed into the bill.

Hemmingway: Leaked Document Shows Biden Sidelining Public To Take Orders From Planned Parenthood
A new leaked document shows the Biden administration flouting the regulatory process in order to push through a massive financial favor to the powerful and lucrative abortion industry that backed Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy with tens of millions of dollars. Less than two weeks after an already abbreviated period of time for the public to review and comment on the proposed regulatory change, Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services finalized a regulation that violates the clear language of Obamacare in order to benefit Planned Parenthood and other corporate abortion interests. The leaked document, dated August 10 and more than 300 pages long, was then sent to the Office of Management and Budget for final approval, according to multiple sources familiar with the federal rule making process. OMB posted confirmation of receipt August 19, a mere 50 days after the major rule change was first proposed to the public.

Ollstein, Caygle & Ferris: Centrists throw wrench in House Democrats’ drug pricing plans
An intraparty fight over drug price controls is threatening to derail Democrats’ dreams of sweeping changes to Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act as part of their mammoth social spending package. House Energy and Commerce Chair Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) and his senior aides are racing to shore up support for leadership-backed language that would allow direct government negotiations over the prices of hundreds of drugs, penalize manufacturers that raise prices faster than inflation and apply both policies to private insurance plans as well as Medicare. Efforts to wrap the language into the House Democrats’ party-line social spending bill ran into opposition Tuesday from a cadre of moderates led by Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.), who put forward a narrower set of pricing policies and threatened to withhold their support unless they’re adopted. The centrist group, which also includes Reps. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.) and Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.), would only allow negotiation for a small subset of drugs in Medicare Part B that have no competition.
