MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY

Zelikovsky: Not the America of MLK’s Dreams
It’s a shame that as we celebrate Martin Luther King Day, it is increasingly apparent that his dream for “all of God’s children, black men and white men… to join hands and sing… ‘Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last’” is more a pipe dream than an achievable goal. The people of America have taken great strides to eradicate all types of racism and we tend to reject it when we see it. Yet, white America stands accused of being racist — not because of our actions or pronouncements, but because of the poverty that continues to plague many black communities. Gullible conservatives believed in King’s dream, rooted in the American dream, that all men are created equal. […] No doubt, in what was once the wealthiest and freest country on the planet, there remains impoverished rural and urban black communities where opportunities are few, children grow up fatherless, churches are disappearing, education is abysmal, drugs, gangs, and shootings are ubiquitous. And this, we are told, is the fault of White America. While it is our inherited problem, it is not our fault. These neighborhoods have been run for at least 60 years by Democrats — often black Democrats. Maxine Waters lives and John Lewis lived like kings while their constituents languish in poverty. Waters doesn’t even live in her district! These political robber barons rile up their crowds with hatred towards whitey and use race as a cudgel to exact funding that doesn’t even trickle down to their constituents. These poor living conditions have been perpetuated by white and black Democrats to their personal benefit and the detriment of their constituents.

NOTABLE QUOTES

Patrick Buchanan contributor to Imaginative Conservative wrote: What would be the purpose of impeaching a president who hasn’t been president for three months? Answer: A conviction would strip Republicans of the right to reelect the man who got the largest number of votes in their party’s history.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a pathological lar and leaker said on Sunday: There’s no circumstance in which this president should get another intelligence briefing — not now, not in the future. I don’t think he can be trusted with it now and, in the future, he certainly can’t be trusted. Indeed, there were, I think, any number of intelligence partners of ours around the world who probably started withholding information from us because they didn’t trust the president would safeguard that information and protect their sources and methods. And that makes us less safe. We’ve seen this president politicize intelligence, and that’s another risk to the country.

Roger Kimball contributor to American Greatness wrote: Among the many sobering realities that the 2020 election brought home is this: in our particular form of oligarchy, the people do have a voice, but it is a voice that is everywhere pressured, cajoled, shaped, and bullied. They have a choice, but only among a roster of approved candidates. The central fact to appreciate about Donald Trump is that he was elected without the permission, and over the incredulous objections, of the woke oligarchy that governs us.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in last Friday’s press conference said: When we are talking about security, we have to talk about truth and trust. In order to serve here with each other, we must trust that people have respect for their oath of office, respect for this institution. We must trust each other, respecting the people who sent us here. We must also have the truth, and that will be looked into. If in fact, it is found that members of Congress were accomplices to this insurrection, if they aided and abetted the crime, there may have to be actions taken beyond the Congress and in terms of prosecution for that.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) previously involved romantically with a Chinese spy is rejoining the House Committee on Homeland Security: I’m honored and excited to rejoin active service on @HomelandDems, where I plan to focus on highlighting and finding solutions to the scourge of white nationalist extremism. My committee memberships – along with my experience as a prosecutor and as the son and brother of law enforcement officers – will give me a unique opportunity to delve into one of America’s most serious national security threats

Ned Ryun contributor to American Greatness wrote: In case you were wondering who the ruling class thinks the system serves, here’s a hint: It isn’t you. To say the American worker and taxpayer are an afterthought seems overly generous: I’m not sure you even cross their minds most days.

Jeffrey Folks contributor to American Thinker wrote: The most important line in Orwell’s famous essay is this: “In our time, political speech and writing are largely the defence of the indefensible.” The progressive inversion of the truth is just that: an attempt to defend the indefensible.

Rich Logis contributor to American Thinker wrote: It is Republicans who romanticize democracy, not Democrats. Democrats romanticize outnumbering, overwhelming, and overtaking their opposition; their modus operandi isn’t very different from that of Islamic supremacists or the Chinese.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

National Pulse Staff Writer: White House Publishes AMAZING List Of Single Term Trump Accomplishments
The White House has published an amazing list of President Donald J. Trump’s first term accomplishments, going a way to prove that Trump will likely be remembered as one of the greatest American presidents, despite the negative press (covfefe). An incoming Biden administration will likely attempt to remove this web page from the internet, so we at The National Pulse have archived the information, and you can download it as a PDF, here. Unprecedented Economic Boom Before the China Virus invaded our shores, we built the world’s most prosperous economy. America gained 7 million new jobs – more than three times government experts’ projections. Middle-Class family income increased nearly $6,000 – more than five times the gains during the entire previous administration. The unemployment rate reached 3.5 percent, the lowest in a half-century. Achieved 40 months in a row with more job openings than job-hirings.
More Americans reported being employed than ever before – nearly 160 million. Jobless claims hit a nearly 50-year low. The number of people claiming unemployment insurance as a share of the population hit its lowest on record. Incomes rose in every single metro area in the United States for the first time in nearly 3 decades. Delivered a future of greater promise and opportunity for citizens of all backgrounds.

Ring: ‘Trump Nation’ Numbers At Least 150 Million Americans
“Getting rid of Trump is the easy part, cleansing the movement he commands is going to be something else.” — ABC News Political Director Rick Klein, in a tweet he later deleted. his sums up the sentiments that inform America’s establishment media, its corporate elite, Big Tech, academia, most of the public sector, the entire Democratic Party, and most of the Republican Party leadership. What do we do with 74,222,593 people? How will we reeducate these troglodytic haters? How will we control these dangerous insurrectionists? Despite virtually every powerful special interest lined up against them, this “cleansing” will indeed be tough. Because, first of all, we are not talking about 74 million Trump supporters. We’re talking about over 150 million Trump supporters. To say that only 74 million Americans support Trump rests on an impossible assumption: that every American who didn’t vote for Trump, or for Biden, automatically is supposed to have supported Biden. Unfortunately for the tastemakers and kingmakers of America, that’s not how reality works. A careful examination of the official election results by state yields several fascinating facts. For example, . . . […] Another indication that the Trump Nation is closer to half of all America instead of just the 74 million number that keeps getting tossed around has to do with . . .

DEMOCRAT/PROGRESSIVE/LEFTIST ATTACK ON AMERICA

Logis: Will America Survive Her Attempted Suicide?
To affirm just how pathetic the now extinct national GOP is, Republicans are placing their hopes and dreams with…Joe Manchin, senator from West Virginia. We debunk ourselves, oblivious to our own self-irony. The Problem Republicans have to work much more to drive voter turnout than do Democrats. This is because too many Republicans live in a world created by George Will, Willard Romney, and William Kristol, where democracy is an endeavor of Arthurian nobility, in which the finest traits of man manifest for all the world to see. Democrats? Nah, they don’t bother with any of that drivel — outnumber, overwhelm, and overtake. Vote blue no matter who, no matter what. We lost Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin by a combined 43,000 votes. A total of 4.3 million registered voters in these states stayed home on Election Day, and I promise you the majority weren’t Democrats. Furthermore, the Libertarian candidate received more votes in each state than was each’s margin of victory for Biden. Libertarians are romanticizers of democracy as well. Had we won the three, Trump and Biden would have each finished with 269 electoral votes, and the U.S. House of Representatives would have soon thereafter, in accordance with the Twelfth Amendment, held a contingent election, with a state delegation vote for president and a U.S. Senate vote for vice president. End result? Keep America Great, and a real-life, real-time civics lesson. How breathtakingly beautiful it would have been. Instead, we were subjected to . . . […] If we had a Republican Party that had taken the time to actually . . . The Solution We need re-education about democracy, and the de-romanticization process must immediately commence. Democracy is the benign versus the malignant. It is a terrible model of governance — it is just the least terrible of all the terrible models. It is made less terrible, however, when . . . Fox: Systematic Racism Is Real and Democrats Are the Ones Engineering It
The reason they don’t accuse Waters of being a racist for preferring illegal border-jumpers over black Americans is that no one ever taught squishy Republicans how to fight. They’re useless. They run crying at the first charge of “racism.” They have no game. They’re pitiful. Take your pick of any number of reasons for it, but Republicans are historically big, fat failures and we’ve all known it for a long time. This is why Donald Trump is so wildly popular with the American conservative voter. This man fights. After years of watching our supposed champions turn tail and run and compromise and quibble, Trump’s “burn it to the ground and salt the ashes” attitude was a welcome and awe-inspiring phenomenon. (Not surprisingly, all the Republican squishes hated him from the beginning. Mittens, fetch me my smelling salts! He’s so uncouth!) […] What J.C. understands, that Republicans don’t, is that the left’s language game is easily turned on them. Instead of fighting it head-on and throwing their inflammatory terms back at them, our Republicans whimper off to their posh offices and hide. Where are the Republicans willing to stand up to this garbage and put the blame where it belongs?

Showalter: Joe Biden’s big amnesty plan stuns even the open-borders activists for its ‘boldness’ and ‘ambition’
If anyone thought the low-legitimacy Joe Biden presidency was going to be a tip-toe unity caretaker operation, they had another thing coming. Biden’s getting right to work on a huge, unpopular amnesty plan to reward an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants with instant green cards and a “right” to citizenship after a mere eight years. He’s cynically planning to put it in place with the expectation that Congress will swing to the Republicans in 2022, based on public opposition. […] According to the Los Angeles Times: Both Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have said their legislative proposal would include a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants in the U.S. without legal status, and The Times has confirmed the bold opening salvo that the new administration plans in its first days doesn’t include the “security first” political concessions of past efforts. Three things make it hugely problematic and the first two of them are unintended consequences, a specialty of Joe’s, the man Robert Gates called “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” The third, of course, is very likely intentional. First, . . .

McCotter: The Democrats’ Decapitation Strategy
In their latest entry in their litany of hypocrisy, the Democrats are trying assiduously to suppress the very opposition strategy they engaged in during the Trump Administration. It is ironic, and in many instances unnecessary. By and large, Republicans and populists would never engage in many of these political tactics. Nevertheless, the Democrats are trying preemptively to extinguish a Republican-populist version of their “resistance” by using the execrable and rightly condemned Capitol riot as a pretext to equate legitimate “opposition” with treasonous “sedition.” The Democrats’ “resistance” was no organic, spontaneous uprising. It was a well-orchestrated political operation. Knowing what they did to undermine the Trump Administration, the Democrats know what they must do to stop it from happening to them. In other words, there is a history lesson the Democrats are trying to rewrite. […] Now, on the heels of President Trump’s second impeachment, it becomes easier to see the political imperative propelling the Democrats’ latest rewriting of history. Their insistence that last summer’s rioters were victims, and that the Russian collusion scam was true, reveals their governmental, complicit media, and crony capitalist efforts to cancel at least 74 million Americans—and, in sum, their strategy to preemptively “Kathy Griffin,” i.e., decapitate and debilitate, the Republican-populist opposition. Their operative word is fear. Never forget: . . . The question now is whether the Democrats will be . . .

STATUS OF SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM PARLER

Nitzberg: Parler resurfaces on Web, promises social media platform to be revived soon
The website of the social media platform Parler has resurfaced after going offline earlier this month. While the platform still has not become operational again, the message indicates that it will revive “soon.” “Now seems like the right time to remind you all — both lovers and haters — why we started this platform,” the website says. “We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media. Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both. We will resolve any challenge before mli us and plan to welcome all of you back soon. We will not let civil discourse perish!”
