NOTABLE QUOTES

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: Unlimited power in the hands of limited people always leads to cruelty.

Casey Chalk contributor to The Imaginative Conservative wrote: The pride of place that cultural Christianity once enjoyed in America is increasingly sidelined by a new, woke progressivism which, though purporting to be neutral and science-based, is in fact a competing religious ideology. The more that it dominates our cultural and political institutions, the more it can misuse the coercive powers of the state and societal pressure to ensure conformity.

Stephen Kruiser contributor to PJ Media shining a spotlight on Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) who announced that she will support Democrat’s in their second Trump impeachment effort: The Republicans who like to go begging for favor from the mainstream media will always tell you that they’re driven by conscience and deep principles. That, my friends, is a trainload of hooey. They’re pathetic emotional midgets who are desperate for attention. If they became full time Democrats, they’d just be one in a big crowd. If they remain Republican, they’ve got an easy, albeit brief, attention fix. Whenever their fellow Republicans need them, all they have to do is slip a shiv in their backs and they get a pure hit of New York Times love for a few days.

Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Speaker of the House on learning that (R-WY) Liz Cheney would vote to impeach President Trump: Good for her for honoring her oath of office. Would that more Republicans would honor their oaths of office.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) when asked about her vote impeaching President Trump said: I’m not going anywhere. This is a vote of conscience. It’s one where there are different views in our conference.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said: It’s not about impeachment anymore. It’s about canceling the president and anyone that disagrees with them.

David Marcus contributor to The Federalist wrote: Twitter claims that it has to censor conservative voices and banned President Trump because they’re in violation of their safety guidelines. So I did about a 10-minute search of Twitter’s own platform and found hashtags like ‘#KillTrump,’ ‘#AssassinateTrump.’” I found a user whose current name is ‘Pigs In A Blanket, Fry Em Like Bacon,’ a reference to killing police.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

Miller: JUST IN: Trump Set To Release Over Foot-High Stack Of Classified Documents FBI And DOJ Have Been Keeping Hidden From Public For Years
Lou Dobbs: President Trump is declassifying top-secret documents all related to Obamagate. That is the coordinated and years-long spying against a presidential candidate and ultimately the President of the United States and his administration, that of Donald J. Trump. The documents will reportedly show the involvement in the United States and overseas to set up Donald Trump in the Russia lie.

Revolver: Republicans Aren’t Voting to Impeach Trump, They’re Voting to Impeach You
The House of Representatives voted 232-197 on Wednesday evening to impeach Donald Trump for a second time. The gesture is wholly symbolic in nature. The Senate will only reconvene next Tuesday, the day before Trump’s term in office ends. Even if the Senate held an unprecedentedly-rushed impeachment show trial, Trump could only be booted from office with a few hours left of his term. But if the vote is symbolic, that doesn’t mean it is meaningless. Ten Republicans chose to join Democrats in impeaching the president. They are: . . . This matters. Those Republicans who chose to vote Trump out of office aren’t just impeaching the President. They’re impeaching everyone who voted for him, everything his administration accomplished, despite the fact that this president remains overwhelmingly popular with Republicans. Fred Upton was one of the first Republicans to announce his intent to impeach and remove the president. His statement read in part: . . . […] The most damning statement of all, though, is the one from Wyoming representative Liz Cheney: . . .

VDH: An Impeachment Incitement
Donald Trump was impeached again on Wednesday, a week before leaving office in one of the great travesties of modern politics. Here are reasons why the exercise proved a farce. One, impeachment was never intended by the founders to become a serial effort to weaken a first-term president. But this latest try will mark the third failed attempt of Democrats in Congress to remove Trump before his allotted tenure. […] . . . from now on, House impeachment will be used by the out-party as a periodic club to wound a first-term president. President-elect Biden should beware. Two, the country is wracked by a pandemic, recession, a summer of Black Lives Matter and Antifa looting, arson, and violence, and the recent rogue group of Trump supporters storming the Capitol. Washington, D.C. is now militarized in a way not seen since the Civil War. Over 20,000 troops patrol the streets. […] Three, the rushed third impeachment attempt was even sloppier than the first two. There was neither an . . .

FIGHTING FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY

McMurray: MI Judge Orders Democrat Sec of State To Release All Communications With Dominion, Facebook, Apple, Amazon and Google
The fight in Michigan to expose what really happened in the November 2020 election is far from over. […] On January 11, MI, Judge Elsenheimer once again overruled the far left Michigan Secretary Of State and ordered the release of large amounts of 2020 election data. According to the court documents provided by Constitutional Attorney Matthew DePerno, MI Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has been ordered to supply him with the following information by February 2, 2021. MI Secretary of State has been ordered to produce any correspondences, communications, and documents between the State of Michigan (including but not limited to the Secretary of State’s Office and/or Jocelyn Benson): . . . […] The court order for MI Secretary of State Benson to turn over evidence related to the November election should be big news, but instead, they choose to heap praise on Dirty Dana Nessel, the Michigan Attorney General, as they continue to stonewall and threaten people like DePerno for standing up to tyranny: DePerno sent a series of tweets about the case: . . .

Timmerman: Our Leaders Have Betrayed Us
The GOP leadership failed to block – or missed entirely – the very real and illegal efforts by Democrat state officials, state courts, governors and non-profits to generalize mail-in ballots, hold ballot-harvesting “events” in public parks, and remove or weaken signature verification. So well before the election, the GOP failed us. And the courts failed us. The Republican-led state legislatures also failed us, by nonchalantly observing this multi-pronged attack by the Democrats to remove all the fail-safe mechanisms protecting voter integrity. Many of us who watched the post-election testimony of Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, Colonel Philip Waldron, Jovan Pulitzer and others before state legislative committees in Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania and elsewhere were heartened at what appeared to be the sympathetic response of Republican legislators. Instead, we should have been appalled — because they should have known all this beforehand. They should have fixed these problems, restored the fail-safes and reasserted their constitutional authority while there was still time. So well before the election and afterwards, the state legislatures failed us.

THE CORRUPT AND DANGEROUS DEMOCRAT PARTY MEDIA INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

(PRO-FREE SPEECH GAB. CONSIDER JOINING.) GAB CEO Lived and Worked In Silicon Valley: “I had very close relationships with Facebook and Twitter…”I got to see the evils of their business model for many years”…”What we’re seeing in America right now is the rise of Communism”
During an interview with WBRE, a local tv station in Scranton, PA, the devout Christian CEO of Parler, Andrew Torba, answered many of the questions Americans are asking about the alternative, free speech platform. Torba explained why he founded GAB in 2016 as an alternative, free speech social media platform: “I was living and working in Silicon Valley at the time, and I had very close relationships inside of Facebook, Twitter, and Google, by nature of my last start-up company which was a digital advertising company,” Torba explained, adding, “I got to see the evils of their business model for many years.” The GAB CEO explained that because of the many relationships he developed within these big tech companies, he had “insider sources” who warned him that “the rise of censorship was coming and was inevitable.” Torba shared that he witnessed the manipulation of . . . […] GAB has 3 rules: . . . […] Yesterday, we wrote about how GAB was backed up and recreated President Trump’s Twitter account on their platform. Here is a link to President Trump’s new account on GAB

Mastrangelo: Project Veritas Video Shows Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Saying Censorship Is Not ‘Going Away Anytime Soon’
Project Veritas has released a video featuring Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey talking about how social media censorship “is not going away any time soon.” Dorsey says in the video that the company should be considering a “Much broader approach” to how it manages conversations on its platform. “We are focused on one account [President Trump] right now, but this is going to be much bigger than just one account, and it’s going to go on for much longer than just this day, this week, and the next few weeks, and go on beyond the inauguration,” said Dorsey in the video.

Mirengoff: COUNTERING BIG TECH CENSORSHIP THROUGH STATE LEGISLATION, PART ONE
It’s obvious that, as Scott has been documenting, Big Tech is engaged in a concerted effort to censor conservatives. It seeks to prevent us from presenting our ideas to the public on an equal basis with liberals, left-liberals, and even the most extreme leftists. How can we counter this? The First Amendment doesn’t forbid censorship by private corporations. The Democratic Congress isn’t going to go to bat for free speech by conservatives. Neither will the Biden/Harris administration. Antitrust litigation might provide a remedy at the end of a very long struggle, but it might not. A reader and distinguished lawyer has offered an approach to fighting back that I believe merits very serious consideration — state legislation banning viewpoint discrimination by Big Tech. He writes: States can bar large social media platforms and online service providers from discriminating against their state’s residents based on their lawful political statements or affiliations. Such laws could even allow . . .Read more at Power Line Blog.

(1/10/21) Farah: The night of long knives – tech-style: Today could well be characterized as America’s “night of the long knives” – the day Big Tech put on a major putsch to maximize its position of fascist strength. Parler is running out the clock to maintain the semblance of freedom of speech and freedom of the press. We should have it for a few more hours until Amazon kills it. It was 24 hours ago that Twitter, Facebook and others decapitated our elected leader by destroying his major voice box. Lesser known is what happened to . . . […] The left is moving ahead at warp speed in their destructiveness. . . . “Long knives?” you ask. But no one has been killed. No one has been arrested. No one has been detained. Not yet, perhaps. This is so far a bloodless revolution – that’s the nature and efficiency of Big Tech. But how are we going to fight back when we can’t even talk to each other? It’s diabolical! Right out of the Chinese Communist playbook.

Kimball: The ‘Virtue’ of the New Totalitarians
On Friday, we learned that Twitter had banned the president of the United States from its platform. Facebook and other media quickly followed suit. General Mike Flynn and the lawyer Sidney Powell were also “de-platformed” as were several other prominent conservatives. But we know now that such actions are but the tip of the Big Tech iceberg. Again, Tucker Carlson zeroed in on the terrifying reality of our situation. It wasn’t just that President Trump and some of his supporters were silenced. The entire media ecosphere went into overdrive to muzzle opinions with which they disagree. On Friday, Google announced that it was excluding the app for the Twitter alternative Parler from its platform. Saturday night, Apple removed Parler from its app store. And as I write, Amazon announced that as of midnight Sunday, Parler’s data would be removed from its servers. Why? Two reasons. First, because conservatives are flocking to Parler in their disgust with Twitter, so there is a commercial reason. But the second reason is pure politics. As Parler’s CEO John Matze noted, “Amazon, Google and Apple purposefully did this as a coordinated effort knowing our options would be limited and knowing this would inflict the most damage right as President Trump was banned from the tech companies.” What we are seeing, as Carlson pointed out in his conversation with the journalist Glenn Greenwald, is the elevation of a “tiny handful of tech oligarchs” to a position of essentially untrammeled power to determine what we see, what we hear, and with whom we may communicate. No one elected them, but they are in many respects “more powerful than any nation state,” unaccountable and overwhelmingly representing a far-Left point of view. Where does it stop?
