NOTABLE QUOTES

J.B Shurk contributor to American Thinker: The Department of Justice has made it clear that it is more interested in punishing Americans for uncovering vote fraud than in punishing Americans for committing vote fraud.

Patricia McCarthy contributor to American Thinker: Why are there experimental vaccinations for a disease that is easily treatable with proven existing and inexpensive drugs? Why are the media/government pushing the vaccines so aggressively? Why are the media and big tech conspiring and uniting to suppress any and all scientific and medical commentary that has opposed the lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccines? Was the entire covid nightmare a planned conspiracy to defeat President Trump? That, ladies and gentlemen is the key, awful question.

Ken Masugi contributor to American Greatness writes that the Fulton v. City of Philadelphia decision was no advance for religious liberty: . . in his 77-page concurring opinion, Justice Samuel Alito (joined by Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch) insisted, “This decision might as well be written on the dissolving paper sold in magic shops.”

Nathan Winters Executive Director Wyoming Family Policy Alliance: So, back to LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Should a Christian participate in the normalization of something that is actively trying to eradicate our values? No. We should be kind, always. But we should never bow to today’s social intimidation and contempt for traditional values which break down the very fabric of Liberty.

Terry Schilling contributor to The Daily Wire: To fight the left’s ruthless campaign to twist the minds of America’s youth and forever change America, conservatives must unite behind the essential building block of American society: the American family. In short, we must take control of school boards to put an end to ideological indoctrination in the form of the teaching of anti-American principles in classrooms across the country. If we do that, we will reclaim our country’s future and the dream that America promises for our children and grandchildren.

Glenn Greenwald Pulitzer Prize winning journalist: ‘Mainstream media outlets are far too reliant upon and trusting of the security state agencies that exist in order to deceive and manipulate the public, and to disseminate propaganda and lies.”

Nick Arama contributor to RedState: Harris will be going to the El Paso area. While there are still some issues there, it’s not the Rio Grande Valley, much further south, where the crisis really is.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) raising the issue of insulin prices increasing as much as 1000%: “There is clearly something broken when a product like insulin that’s been on the market longer than most people have been alive skyrockets in price. Our investigation worked to get to the bottom of this. We found that the business practices of and the competitive relationships between manufacturers and middlemen have created a vicious cycle of price increases that have sent costs for patients and taxpayers through the roof. This industry is anything but a free market when PBMs spur drug makers to hike list prices in order to secure prime formulary placement and greater rebates and fees.”

J.B. Shurk: Five Shots of Optimism for Freedom-Lovers
. . . […] I cannot help but get a little giddy when I see Americans standing up for their God-given rights and against growing government abuses. Consider these five interrelated events part of a growing trend that should give even the most cynical a shot of optimism: 1. More and more counties across the country are passing resolutions as first steps to secede from home state governments that have become too oppressive. A proposed bill by a state senator from Roswell is pushing for several New Mexico counties to become part of Texas. Seven counties in Oregon have voted to secede and become part of Idaho. Citizens of Weld County, Colorado are thinking of joining Wyoming, and counties in western Minnesota have proposed leaving for South Dakota. What was once merely a dream of northern Californians to break away from Democrats by forming the new state of Jefferson has turned into a national movement. And after years of actively trying to secede from dark blue cities, even neighborhoods are redoubling their efforts. In the face of skyrocketing murders, rising violent crimes, and a fading police presence, the Buckhead community of northwest Atlanta is doing everything it can to escape the dangerous policies of Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms by declaring its independence and hiring its own law enforcement. The only way for communities and counties to survive in the face of crime waves and political tyranny unleashed by Democrats is to divorce from those who cause them harm and fight for freedom on their own terms. 2. Because the federal government has failed in its duty to protect American lives and property and seems intent on creating the worst border crisis since the Mexican-American War, Arizona and Texas bypassed the feds on June 10 and sent a distress call seeking help from any state willing to engage hostile forces waging war against American citizens. Florida governor Ron DeSantis and Nebraska governor Pete Ricketts both answered the call, because only a coalition of free American states can pick up the slack when the federal government aids drug cartels, human-traffickers, and criminal gangs across the country. Texas governor Greg Abbott has announced that Texas will build its own border wall and finish the job that President Trump started. When the federal government abandons its post, a coalition of the willing must fill the gap and seal the breach. 3. . . . 4. . . . 5 . . .

Hutchison: Concerned Parents Question Whether Virginia School Board Tried To Rig Meeting
During the June 22 meeting, the school board voted 9-0 to cut off the public comment portion after former state Sen. Dick Black’s remarks drew loud applause. In the wake of that cutoff, two parents were arrested. Ian Prior, the executive director of Fight for Schools, told the Daily Caller in an email, “The signup form for the meetings are usually Friday a.m. at 8. This time they were Thursday at 8 a.m. and no one was aware, yet conveniently the first bunch of speakers were all there to defend” the school board. Many parents are accusing six board members of being part of a secret Facebook group that targeted parents opposed to the use of critical race theory in Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), according to Prior. Those parents and others then decided to launch a recall campaign targeting those board members. Prior also sent the Daily Caller a link to a . . .

Schillling: Wokeism Has Awakened The Most Formidable Opponent: The American Family
At the heart of the woke agenda is a disdain for everyday people. Woke leftists truly believe that everyone besides themselves are morons. […] If we can’t stop schools from teaching our kids that all white people are racist, that women can have penises and men can have babies, and that America is an irredeemably nefarious imperialist enterprise, then we certainly won’t be able to stop tax increases or socialized medicine. If this new conservative movement fails, it means the American experiment is destined to fail.

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Smith: Affidavits Raise More Questions About FBI’s Role in Trump Probe
Affidavits filed in a federal court on June 21 raise crucial questions about the FBI’s role in the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign’s efforts to vilify her opponent, Donald Trump, as a Russian agent. The FBI obtained a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on the Trump team based on a dossier of memos alleging Trump’s ties to Russia that was filed by Clinton campaign contractor Christopher Steele. But the newly released court documents suggest the FBI may have helped shape the anti-Trump plot at its origins.

2020 ELECTION

(6/24/2021) Payne: ‘Huge victory’: Judge names members of Fulton election board in lawsuit; ballot audit will proceed
Superior Court Judge Brian Amero in a Thursday ruling dismissed several claims brought against governmental entities of Fulton County on sovereign immunity grounds, but he allowed the five members of Fulton County’s Board of Registration and Elections to be named in the suit.
“Sovereign immunity” is a legal doctrine that . . .

Payne: In Georgia’s largest county, ‘an army of temps’ oversaw an election rife with security issues
“They were doing things eagerly but incorrectly.” That was a judgment rendered in a Georgia election monitor’s report last year detailing what the investigator said were a series of problems brought on by improperly trained temporary staffers handling the absentee ballot scanning operation in Fulton County. […] In multiple cases, Jones reported on what appeared to be tension between Fulton County employees and temporary staffers, specifically those employed by Happy Faces, an Atlanta-area personnel group. […] Happy Faces came under scrutiny this week for its apparent, but still unconfirmed connection to Georgia Democratic activist Stacey Abrams. Georgia court documents indicated that NowAccount — a microfinance company cofounded by Abrams and one in which she may still hold a financial stake — had at one point in the past had a financial relationship with Happy Faces.

U.S. SUPREME COURT

Masugi: Everyone’s Bastard? From Natural Rights to Nature’s Child in Fulton
While not a defeat for religious liberty, the long-awaited Fulton v. City of Philadelphia case supported the rights of a religious social services agency to decline, for the moment, the assigning of foster children to same-sex couples. It turns out that the 9-0 “win” for religious adoption agencies was everyone’s bastard, but no one’s child. This was no advance. Ask Masterpiece Cakeshop master baker Jack Phillips if he still feels victorious following the Supreme Court’s agreeing with him in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission (2018). Phillips continues to be harassed by activists demanding he make cakes expressing anti-religious and same-sex marriage sentiments, which his tormentors insist are their legal rights to enjoy on demand, as with the transgender celebration cake he recently refused to make. There’s something unAmerican going on here, and the court once again doesn’t seem to get it.
The court’s unanimous opinion found that Philadelphia’s inept officials had practiced religious discrimination against Catholic Social Services (CSS) in questioning its foster care recommendations. CSS and other foster care and adoption agencies had, for over two centuries, performed nobly in their religious missions to match orphans with parents. But in its 15-page opinion, including a summary of the facts, the unanimous court found that the city’s “contractual non-discrimination requirement imposes a burden on CSS’s free religious exercise and does not qualify as generally applicable.” Therefore, the Court concluded, Philadelphia’s demand that CSS certify same-sex couples as foster parents cannot meet the “strict scrutiny” requirements of the religious free exercise clause of the First Amendment. By contrast, in his 77-page concurring opinion, Justice Samuel Alito (joined by Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch) insisted, “This decision might as well be written on the dissolving paper sold in magic shops.”

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY

Marjorie Taylor Greene: The Infrastructure Bill Makes Us Reliant On China

Hoekstra: How China Sees It
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has much to lose, both domestically and internationally, if the truth comes out. A muddled debate about the origins of the virus serves China just fine. Evading accountability — and suffering no little negative fallout — for unleashing a pandemic on the world that killed millions of people is not a bad outcome. And the economic results may even be better for China than for the rest of the world, thereby strengthening the CCP further. And now, in response to China’s obfuscation, the international community seems unable to go beyond the empty threat of calling for the World Health Organization (WHO) to follow up its original investigation, which was abysmal, with another probe. For the West to maintain the WHO as the agency of record is embarrassing. It was a puppet of China the first time around and will be again.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING THE U.S. MILITARY

Kruta: Tucker Torches Milley Over Focus On ‘White Rage’: ‘Have You Read Anything Recently About Winning Wars?’
Milley, who serves as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave testimony earlier in the week about struggling to understand “white rage” so that he could better help to purge racism from the rank of the United States military – and Carlson responded to his comments during Thursday’s broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Walsh: National Guard Threatens To Cancel Training, Exercises If Not Reimbursed For $521M Capitol Deployment
National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Daniel Hokanson said the Guard has been protecting the U.S. Capitol for more than five months following the Jan. 6 mayhem, and it’s gutted their finances and readiness. The peak deployment in the nation’s capital required 26,000 service members and it was a hefty price tag. The National Guard footed the bill upfront, but Hokanson said if they are not fully reimbursed, the Guard will be forced to cancel planned training and exercises in August and September.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING FOREIGN POLICY

Kredo: Biden Admin Walks Back U.S. Recognition of Golan Heights as Israeli Territory
The Biden administration is walking back the United States’ historic recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the contested Golan Heights region along Israel’s northern border, a significant blow to the Jewish state and one of the Trump administration’s signature foreign policy decisions. The Trump administration declared the territory—seized by Israel from Syria in 1967 and later annexed by the country—to be wholly part of the Jewish state in 2019. Then-secretary of state Mike Pompeo took a trip to the area in 2020 and reaffirmed that America formally abandoned a decades-long policy of considering the area occupied.
[…] The shift in policy is already causing outrage among Republican lawmakers who backed the Trump administration’s decision and hoped to see it continue. It is also likely to rankle Israeli leaders of all political stripes, the plurality of whom say the Golan Heights is absolutely vital to Israel’s security in light of persistent threats from the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon and other militant forces stationed in war-torn Syria.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Rosiak: Stealth Goal Of Infrastructure Plan Could Be To Abolish The Suburbs By Bribing Towns To Change Zoning Laws
Democrats may use their massive “infrastructure” plan to bribe local governments to essentially abolish suburbs, by making grants contingent upon towns and counties allowing apartments in any neighborhood, including those currently limited to single-family homes. That creates two scenarios, both of which benefit Democrats seeking power: If jurisdictions want to preserve a small-town feel, they must turn down the money, meaning the massive infusion of taxpayer dollars turns into a bonanza for Democratic-dominated cities, while leaving others out. Or if centrist suburbs give in to the temptation to take the money, they would essentially be signing a contract to become architecturally dense, like cities — and once those apartments and townhouses were built and filled with residents, they’d likely become solidly Democrat, like most urban areas. Both outcomes would irrevocably and fundamentally transform the country.

Uhler, Ferrara & Yocca: As Biden Bumbles Abroad, Inflation Roars at Home
While President Joe Biden was focused on being his best European/Russia-pleasing preener at the G-7 and Vice President Kamala Harris embarrassed herself in Central America, here at home Americans are suffering the beginning of wild inflationary conditions not seen since the 1970s.
Our country is in crisis. Adding to a dangerous rise in criminal behavior across the nation and especially at our southern border, our economy is adrift. As we move out from under the destructive lockdowns owed to the pandemic, this should be a time of optimism and hopefulness. Instead, many industries are sputtering to re-open as inflation is “stealing” from returning working American’s paychecks, trading economic joy for malaise. Even the stock markets are recognizing the dangers and are beginning to readjust the prices of assets. Super-charged inflationary pressures continued to gain momentum according to a survey by the Philadelphia Fed this month, adding to alarming price jumps recorded in April. Eighty-two percent of manufacturing companies in the recent Philly Fed’s survey reported paying higher prices for the inputs of their products, while just one percent said costs had fallen. As a result, the diffusion index (a metric of manufacturing activity and costs) moved up four points to 80.7, the highest reading since June 1979.

Wilcox: Biden’s Reversal of Border COVID Rules Is an Act of Sabotage
While COVID-19 may be on the decline in the United States, thanks in large part to the Trump Administration’s work on Operation Warp Speed, the same cannot be said for many of the poverty-stricken, underdeveloped countries from which those who most often show up at our doorstep originate. Just as our nation is turning the corner on a deadly global pandemic, it makes absolutely no sense at this moment to ease up on health restrictions on foreign nationals seeking entry. Only someone with Machiavellian political motives would propose such lunacy.

Cunningham: Mississippi Goes After Big Pharma After Biden Administration Drops Trump Era Insulin Rule
The state of Mississippi has filed a lawsuit accusing major pharmaceutical companies of orchestrating an across-the-board insulin price spike after the Biden administration dropped a rule change by the previous administration aimed at lowering them. Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch sued the top three insulin manufacturers, saying they were increasing the price of the drug, in some cases nearly 1000%. […] Congress has tried several times over recent years to get the price of insulin down, but failure to do so led the Trump administration to a rules change that would have made it easier for patients in rural communities to have access to insulin and other drugs at lower costs. That rule was paused by the Biden administration in January, and earlier this month the White House upheld the decision to scrap it.

Palumbo: Unemployed Households Can Earn $25/Hour on Welfare in 21 States, New Study Finds
he US economy is in a perplexing state of labor market purgatory. We have 9.3 million unfilled job openings, all while millions of Americans remain on unemployment benefits and millions more are opting out of the labor force entirely.
In short, a labor shortage is throttling the economic recovery. But why? A new study published by the fiscally-conservative Committee to Unleash Prosperity offers a comprehensive examination of one of the labor shortage’s main causes: lucrative unemployment benefits. In March 2020, the federal government passed a “temporary” $600/week supplement on top of existing state-level unemployment payouts. It was reduced to a $300/week supplement in President Biden’s COVID-19 “stimulus” legislation but extended through September 2021.

THE CORRUPT & DANGEROUS DEMOCRAT PARTY MEDIA INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Ciaccia: Big Tech LOSES first round in Congress antitrust battle: House Committee approves first two of six bills to curb the dominance of Facebook, Apple, Amazon and Google
A House committee early Thursday morning approved sweeping legislation to curb the dominance of Big Tech firms including Facebook, Google, Amazon and Apple. The American Choice and Innovation Online Act, the focus of a six-bill antitrust package looking to restrict the command the tech giants have on the market, was advanced with a vote of 24 to 20 in the House Judiciary Committee. The legislation would limit conduct by huge corporations’ that gives their own products an advantage over competitors and discriminates against other businesses. The Augmenting Compatibility and Competition by Enabling Service Switching, or Access, Act was also approved on Wednesday night. The bill would make it easier for internet users to share their information with other platforms. […] The measures were passed after it was revealed Apple CEO Tim Cook called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi earlier this month to warn over the ‘rushed’ antitrust bills.

FAUCI’S VIRUS: IT’S POLITICAL

FDA to Add Heart Warning for Pfizer and Moderna mRNA Vaccines
The move follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting roughly 1,200 cases of heart inflammation conditions occurring primarily in young men after receiving the mRNA jabs. The advisory panel said there is a “likely association” between the condition and the mRNA vaccines, which teach cells to make a protein that triggers an immune response. The warning “would likely include information stating these events have occurred in some vaccine recipients following dose 2 of mRNA vaccines,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The heart inflammation condition typically occurs “within several days to a week following vaccination,” and symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain, and a pounding or fluttering heart. Despite this, the CDC is continuing to urge everyone 12 and older to get vaccinated.

A CULTURE IN DECLINE

Villeneuve: New York to add ‘X’ gender mark on government IDs
New Yorkers will be able to designate their sex as “female,” “male” or “X” on driver’s licenses and birth certificates under a law that Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed Thursday. Nonbinary New Yorkers sued in March arguing the state was discriminating against them by failing to provide the “X” option to indicate nonbinary, intersex, undesignated or other. The new law will take effect in 180 days. New Yorkers will no longer have to publish their name change, address, birth place and birth date in a newspaper, which the previous law requires within 60 days of a name change. They could also ask to seal sex designation papers because of the risk of violence or discrimination. And the law precludes courts from requiring the individual to notify federal immigration authorities about their sex designation change.

Cawood: L.A. Sheriff Calls Progressives In Charge Of L.A.’s Homeless Policies ‘The Architects of Failure’
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva called out several political rivals during a press conference on Wednesday and urged elected officials to declare the homeless crisis in the region a local state of emergency. Villanueva defended his plan to clear encampments lining the famous Venice Beach boardwalk by July 4, and described the situation there as “a microcosm of what’s going on throughout the entire county of Los Angeles.” However, several activist groups and progressive politicians have condemned his strategy, which Villanueva says is based on the concept of “regulating public space.”

Rep. Owens: OPINION: Planned Parenthood Is The Greatest Threat To Black Lives In America
The headline in a recent weekend edition of The New York Times was stark, “I’m the Head of Planned Parenthood: We’re Done Making Excuses for Our Founder.” The author of the piece, Alexis McGill Johnson, went on to proclaim that her organization, the prime progenitor of abortion in the United States and perhaps worldwide, would have to “reckon” with their founder, Margaret Sanger, and her association with “white supremacist groups and eugenics.” The acknowledgement of Sanger’s notorious views on Planned Parenthood’s use of birth control to eliminate those she regarded as nothing but “human weeds” — by such methods as forced sterilization, birth permits and segregated camps for the unfit — is important. But Johnson’s confession is short on specifics, and to say it is overdue is like acknowledging the Hindenburg had a fire on board. Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood has spent more than a century building a citadel of prejudice with profound, even irreversible, effects on African Americans and the poor.
