Orden: Manhattan’s DA wanted a Friday Trump arrest. Trump’s team said no.

The exchange, which was relayed to POLITICO by a law-enforcement source and confirmed by Joe Tacopina, a lawyer for the former president, underscores the extremely delicate, unprecedented nature of the indictment. Until Thursday, no ex-president in history had been criminally charged. And both the charges itself and the application of them have placed the country on uncharted legal and political terrain. A spokesperson for the D.A.’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Trump is expected to surrender to the Manhattan D.A.’s office, but Tacopina said that no precise date had been set for it. Ultimately the Secret Service will have to coordinate the conditions of the surrender with court officials and the New York Police Department.

According to data from Nevada’s Secretary of State: 95,556 ballots were sent to undeliverable addresses, 8,036 were rejected by election officials, and 1.2 million ballots were never returned to be counted. To put the figures in perspective, Democratic incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto defeated Republican challenger Adam Laxalt by 7,928 votes — less than the 8,036 ballots rejected upon receipt by election officials. To determine whether a ballot is authentic, Nevada processes them via signature verification. This means election officials compare signatures on file to those on return envelopes to determine whether ballots are accepted. Such a system has a lot of room for human error, however. This past midterm election season, for example, a Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist tricked election officials into accepting six ballots with his signature (this is why states like Minnesota and Florida also require the last four digits of a voter’s Social Security number on return envelopes so they’re not solely relying on signature verification to determine legitimacy).

A day doesn’t pass without a story surfacing about some sort of an incident surrounding a drag show, either at an elementary school, or a public library. Those two locations that the Left is so focused on should tell you volumes about the mentality of liberals. Anyway, what is a drag show? The majority of the performers are gay men dressed flamboyantly as women. Very rarely is there an actual woman involved, and on the rare occasion that there is, she has to dress and behave just as flamboyantly so she appears to be a man, dressed as a woman. Doesn’t sound inclusive of women to me. In fact, if you think about it, a drag show is really a parody of women. Not only is it a parody, but it’s also a ridiculously hideous display of stupidity. Drag shows make women look absurd without even involving women. Now let’s go to the opposite end of the spectrum. If you are a woman who has chosen to stay home and raise your family, you are despised by the Left. A group of women that have made this choice decided to promote it by calling themselves “Trad-Wives”, which is short for “traditional” wives. So, did the “inclusive” Left embrace these women? I mean after all, isn’t the liberal mantra just to be yourself? Of course they didn’t. The Left’s mantra of “be yourself” only applies to when your agenda agrees with theirs.

“After campaigning on fighting for democracy, the Arizona Democratic Party is reportedly suing to stop a third-party organization from accessing the state’s presidential ballot in the 2024 election.” […] State Democratic leaders are planning to file the lawsuit against Secretary of State Adrian Fontes on Thursday as a way to reverse his decision to recognize the centrist group No Labels as a third-party ticket in the presidential election. The move reflects growing concern among Democrats that a “spoiler” candidate could derail President Joe Biden’s hopes of being reelected and threaten the party’s chances of maintaining control of the Senate. The lawsuit accuses Fontes of violating state laws when accepting signature petitions from No Labels to receive access to the ballot, according to the Washington Post. Democratic officials claim the accompanying affidavits were signed and approved before the minimum number of petitions were gathered.
