The book invites you to see through the bad guy’s eyes and imagine just how easy it was to subvert the free world into totalitarianism using the response to a perfectly banal virus. Alas, to that end, my book has been upstaged by the work of Deborah Birx, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, one of the “Trifecta” of three leading officials behind Covid lockdowns in the United States. Virtually every page of Birx’s monstrosity of a book, Silent Invasion, reads like a how-to guide in subverting a democratic superpower from within, as could only be told through the personal account of someone who was on the front lines doing just that. Notably, though Birx’s memoir has earned relatively few reviews on Amazon, it’s earned rave reviews from Chinese state media, a feat not shared even by far-more-popular pro-lockdown books such as those by Michael Lewis and Lawrence Wright. The glowing response from Chinese state media should come as no surprise, however, because every sentence of Birx’s book reads like it was written by the CCP itself. Chapter 1 opens with what she claims was her first impression of the virus. […] As a reminder, Birx’s book was published in April 2022. The videos Birx is recalling were all proven fake by the spring of 2020. Dunleavy: Durham requests 30 subpoenas for testimony in trial against Steele source Igor Danchenko

Danchenko was charged with five counts of making false statements to the FBI, which Durham says he made about the information he provided to Steele for the dossier. His trial is scheduled for October. The DOJ’s watchdog said FBI interviews with Danchenko “raised significant questions about the reliability of the Steele election reporting” and concluded Danchenko “contradicted the allegations of a ‘well-developed conspiracy’ in” Steele’s dossier. He has pleaded not guilty. Durham’s brief court filing on Wednesday requested the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia to issue “thirty subpoenas” for an “appearance before said Court at Alexandria, Virginia,” starting on Oct. 11 “to testify on behalf of the United States.” The potential witnesses are not named, but a copy of the blank subpoena reads that “YOU ARE COMMANDED to appear.”

Timothy Hysom, the chief of staff for Rep. Jake Auchincloss, D-Mass., was captured on surveillance video by Capitol Police in March defacing the posters and was named in an arrest warrant, but prosecutors declined to pursue the case, police records show. Greene, a Georgia Republican, wrote in a letter this week to Ethics committee Chairman Ted Deutch and ranking member Rep. Jackie Walorski that Hysom’s conduct nonetheless violated House rules and should be punished. “Every representative should be secure in their person and property while on the Capitol grounds and in the various House office buildings,” she wrote. “Yet, over the last six months, Timothy Hysom – Chief-of-Staff for Representative Jake Auchincloss – has repeatedly defaced posters hanging outside of my congressional office.”

Jeffrey Rosen had a secret on January 6, 2021. The Secret Service deleted text messages from Jan. 5 and 6, 2021, after an internal watchdog requested them as part of a review of the department’s handling of last year’s Capitol riot, the watchdog said this week. A letter sent Wednesday by the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General to the heads of the House and Senate Homeland Security Committees, which was obtained by ABC News, said the messages were deleted “as part of a device-replacement program” despite the inspector general requesting such communications.

Unfortunately, forty-five children required liver transplants and 18 children died. Most children have been diagnosed in the UK (367), US (305), Japan (58), Mexico (58), Italy (34) and Spain (39). Out of 100 probable cases with available clinical data the most commonly reported symptoms were nausea or vomiting (54%), jaundice (49%), general weakness (45%) and abdominal pain (45%). […] More observations on children’s health are alarming. Health experts in the US are seeing children in the middle of the summer testing positive for as much as seven common viruses-adenovirus, rhinovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, human metapneumovirus, influenza and parainfluenza as well as coronavirus, with most of them having two or three combined. Experts say COVID measures have worn down the immune system and made children more vulnerable for infections that normally do not occur in summertime and don’t need hospital visits. The explanation is that children are less exposed to these viruses and therefore not able to deal with the virus appropriately. Children returning to school after two years of lockdowns have been observed to be too weak to walk, not knowing how to play and communicate, depressed, anxious, angry, and not potty trained at the age of 5. […] During the past two years children have been frequently exposed to microplastics, graphene oxide, titanium dioxide, silver oxide, fluorocarbon (PFAS), methanol, hypercapnia, and hypoxia by wearing face masks, frequent testing and disinfectants adding up to damage the liver, the controller of the immune surveillance system.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are purchasing and using Chinese-made drones from a company with close links to the Chinese government, according to testimony by top Biden administration officials. The confirmation about the U.S. government’s Chinese drone purchases came the same day that the House approved the National Defense Authorization Act, which, despite efforts by some congressional Republicans, did not include a ban on U.S. government agencies from using Chinese drones. The United States considers Chinese government-backed Shenzhen DJI Sciences and Technologies, which commonly goes by DJI, to be a “Chinese Military Industrial Complex” company.

John Katko, R-NY, August Pfluger, R-Texas, and Mayra Flores, R-Texas, says. This is absolute insanity. It makes you wonder what DHS is trying to hide from Congress, that they would implement such a ridiculous policy.

A new Gallup poll documents a precipitous drop in Americans’ confidence across 16 major institutions, including historic lows for confidence in newspapers, the criminal justice system, big business, police, and all three branches of the federal government. The survey’s results represent the lowest overall institutional confidence ever recorded in its decades-long survey history, and not a single institution reflected an increase in confidence over last year’s measures. Only 7% of Americans have a “Great deal / Quite a lot” of confidence in Congress, while only 11% feel similarly about television news.
Only adding to Westerners’ perception of widespread institutional corruption, an investigation by the British Medical Journal recently documented pervasive conflicts of interest within Western drug and health regulatory agencies whose budgets are funded primarily by monetary gifts from major pharmaceutical companies, the very industry players whose products the government agencies are charged with regulating.
Westerners increasingly do not trust their governments or their major news media to report accurate and reliable information. They increasingly view government actors as perpetuating two standards of justice and economic security — one for those at the very top of society’s pyramid of wealth and power and one for everyone else.

Sundance: Producer Price Index Hits Peak 11.3 Percent Inflation Driven by Biden Energy Policy – Service Prices Now Indicate Recession

The “Producer Price Index” (PPI) is essentially the tracking of wholesale prices at three stages: Origination (commodity), Intermediate (processing), and then Final (to wholesale). Today, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) released June price data [Available Here] showing another 11.3% increase year-over-year in Final Demand products at the wholesale level. Overall, the wholesale inflation rate is being driven by energy prices. The June calculation shows exactly that problem with energy prices embedded in goods driving 10% of the price increase. However, there is some good news in the short-term for July and August, as the intermediate and raw material costs are leveling off temporarily. Unfortunately, that raw material price plateau is almost certainly the result of a drop in demand.

Lennox: What Could Go Wrong Next? Nationwide Railroad Strike Looms for Monday, and Biden’s Asleep at the Switch

On Tuesday, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) announced that 99.5% of their participating members voted to authorize a strike. The union represents more than 57,000 railroad workers, 23,000 of which are affected by the current negotiations. It would be a challenge for anyone to find a vote taken by a union in any industry that ended up with a nearly 100% agreement. The BLET is one of the 12 unions involved in the current negotiations. […] The parties reached the last national contract in 2011 after President Barack Obama appointed a Presidential Emergency Board (PEB) under the RLA to resolve the impasse between them. President Biden has until July 18 to appoint a PEB to investigate the dispute and propose a settlement between the parties. The unions rejected binding arbitration and have a legal right to strike as of this Monday if Biden fails to do so. If Biden appoints a PED, it will have 30 days to investigate. Following the board’s report, the unions have another 30 days to accept or reject the recommendations. That process would delay the possibility of a strike until mid-September. The Chamber of Commerce, which put considerable resources behind getting Biden elected according to a Time article, is now begging him to keep the railroads running. A coalition attorneys general from 19 states, led by Arizona’s Mark Brnovich, has filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court that supports the right of Texas and Louisiana to oppose the federal government’s Permanent Guidance on immigration policy. The policy, handed down by the Department of Homeland Security, pauses nearly all arrests and deportations, even for illegal immigrants convicted of crimes.

I have always considered myself a feminist, although I never used to feel the need to include a qualifier such as “radical,” “socialist,” “environmentalist,” or “Marxist” (there are women all over the world who use labels such as these to describe themselves). I studied radical feminism in college and in law school, and I was persuaded by many of its arguments, but I didn’t feel the need to situate myself in any particular subset of the feminist movement. I ended up pursuing a different professional field anyway, so there was simply no need. That changed in 2014, when I was talking with a friend and I said something about “trans rights.” My friend stopped me in my tracks and told me that all of “transgender” is misogyny. I hadn’t heard that before, so I studied up and educated myself. I learned about the efforts to allow men who claim to be women to invade intimate spaces such as bathrooms, domestic violence shelters, and women’s prisons. Women had fought for centuries to secure things such as the right to vote, serve on juries, and own credit cards, and the second-wave women’s liberation movement was hugely successful in the fight to protect women fleeing men’s physical and sexual abuse, among other things. I also took all of my radical feminist books down from the shelf and spent the remainder of 2014 delving into radical feminist theory and values. I was furious when I understood what was happening.

Ibrahim: When ‘Muslims Were Tried by an Unparalleled Disaster’

This week in history, the important fortress city of Acre fell back to Crusader hands, and in so doing ushered in the Third Crusade, arguably the most bloody and violent of all Crusades. Following the decisive battle of Hattin in 1187, Sultan Saladin went on to conquer Jerusalem and most other Christian kingdoms, including coastal Acre. Elated by his success, he vowed not only to eliminate all Crusaders from the Holy Land, but to invade Europe and “pursue the Franks there, so as to free the earth of anyone who does not believe in Allah, or die in the attempt.” Before long, however, and due to its strategic location, Acre became the rallying point for the remaining Crusaders. If only they could reclaim it, they could reconsolidate their power base and spread out again, including to Jerusalem. So they laid it to siege in the summer of 1189. Famine, plague, and pestilence harried the Crusaders and countless thousands died while the Muslims continued to hold out in Acre.

In the Netherlands, dairy farmer Martin Neppelenbroek is near the end of the line. New environmental regulations will require him to slash his livestock numbers by 95 percent. He thinks he will have to sell his family farm. “I can’t run a farm on 5 percent. For me, it’s over and done with,” he said in a July 7 interview with The Epoch Times. “In view of the regulations, I can’t sell it to anybody. Nobody wants to buy it.
