Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon is under fire after distributing material instructing children to “tuck” their genitals and put “your testicles inside your body.” Tucking is not just for males, the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital assures in its instructional guide that. “Tucking is moving the penis, testicles, or both out of the way. This makes the genital area look smoother and flatter,” the document notes. “Tucking can reduce any concerns you have about your body, how your clothes fit and how safe you feel in public. People of all genders can tuck.” […] The document presents three methods for children interested in tucking: . . . […] The children’s hospital even encourages kids to visit sex shops to purchase clothes that “sell gender-affirming clothing items as well as sex toys, videos and more.” While the Oregon sex shop SheBob “is for people age 18 and older,,” the guide states, ” they offer appointments before or after hours for younger shoppers.”

Reuters: WHO says global rise in COVID cases is ‘tip of the iceberg’
Figures showing a global rise in COVID-19 cases could herald a much bigger problem as some countries also report a drop in testing rates, the WHO said on Tuesday, warning nations to remain vigilant against the virus. After more than a month of decline, COVID-19 cases started to increase around the world last week, the WHO said, with lockdowns in Asia and China’s Jilin province battling to contain an outbreak. A combination of factors was causing the increases, including the highly transmissible Omicron variant and its BA.2 sublineage, and the lifting of public health and social measures, the WHO said. “These increase are occurring despite reductions in testing in some countries, which means the cases we’re seeing are just the tip of the iceberg,” WHO’s head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters.

A federal judge, after a Wednesday hearing in the case of Stephen K. Bannon, ordered the Justice Department to turn over to the former White House adviser any writings reflecting its official position on prosecuting current or former U.S. officials claiming immunity from congressional subpoena on grounds of executive privilege. The decision handed an initial victory to the onetime adviser to President Donald Trump. Bannon has suggested that he was relying on the Justice Department’s own past advice to White House aides as he fights criminal charges for failing to appear before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack. […] Bannon defense attorney David I. Schoen said that witnesses might have to appear before Congress to invoke claims such as the right against self-incrimination, but “executive privilege is different,” because the privilege is held not by a witness, but by the president.
Finding otherwise “would be giving Congress a veto over what executive privilege is,” shifting the balance of powers between a president and lawmakers, Schoen said.

White House officials have already pressured governors in states to shift $875 million for poor renters into urban districts, the newspaper reported March 16, adding: . . . Widburg: Congress’s St. Patrick’s Day luncheon exposed our dreadful political class
The event was the annual Friends of Ireland St. Patrick’s Day luncheon in the Capitol. According to Wikipedia, the original purpose of the bipartisan event, which Ted Kennedy, Daniel Moynihan, and Tip O’Neill inaugurated in 1981, was to support peace in Northern Ireland. It’s attended by the President, Vice President, Speaker, the Irish prime minister, and other officials. I gather that, nowadays, it’s just a nice party. There’s nothing wrong with a nice party, but this year’s event had the feeling of a nice party in the closing days of Rome when the political leaders were mad and bad, and their ostentation contrasted badly with the austerity the incompetent political class had imposed upon the beleaguered Roman people. The two elements of the party that made for the most startling headlines were the performances from Biden and Pelosi. Biden’s remarks were offensive and impolitic at so many levels that it was, really…a typical Biden performance. He opened by insulting both the Irish and Italian people, implying the first are stupid and the second are dangerous: . . .

Collins: IRS commissioner: Massive backlog of unprocessed returns to be eliminated by end of year
Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Charles Rettig assured lawmakers Thursday that the agency will eliminate a backlog of more than 20 million unprocessed tax returns by the end of the year. The backlog, which includes unprocessed returns from previous years and correspondence sent to the IRS but yet unanswered, will “absolutely” be cleared before December, Rettig told members of a House oversight panel. Rettig’s assurance to Congress that the agency is working to resolve the problem comes just days after the IRS announced plans to hire 10,000 new employees to tackle the backlog. The agency expects to hire 5,000 of the employees in the coming months and fill the other 5,000 positions next year.

The backlash against this reporting was immediate and intense, leading to suppression of the story by U.S. corporate media outlets and censorship of the story by leading Silicon Valley monopolies. The disinformation campaign against this reporting was led by the CIA’s all-but-official spokesperson Natasha Bertrand (then of Politico, now with CNN), whose article on October 19 appeared under this headline: “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.”

Goodwin: The New York Times hates to say The Post told you so
Sometimes a newspaper story is just a story about someone. And sometimes the story inadvertently reveals far more about the newspaper itself. That’s the case of the New York Times’ Thursday piece on Hunter Biden. What the discerning reader learns about the Times is far more important than anything disclosed about the president’s scheming son. The one bit of actual news is that Hunter Biden took out a loan to pay the federal government as much as $1 million in back taxes as part of a continuing criminal probe about his business ventures with foreign corporations and individuals. But that fact, which comes in the very first paragraph, is dwarfed by the Times’ bombshell acknowledgment later on. Much later on. […] So as a corollary to their reporting fake news about Trump, when they had real news about Biden family corruption, instead of reporting it and letting users share it on social media, they conspired to bury it. Blame them for Joe Biden’s disastrous presidency. And now the Times has the gall to act as if it did heroic digging by claiming Thursday the emails “were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.” Oh, please.

The Quinnipiac poll of nearly 2,000 U.S. adults, conducted between March 10-14, also found that three fourths of Americans want the U.S. to supply aid to Ukraine, as long as it did not put the country at risk of war with Russia. The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Friday directed global governments to urgently cut oil supply to domestic consumers and encourage compliance with its call for lowered consumption. The IEA 10-point plan to drive “changes in the behaviour of consumers” and reduce gas demand at the pump includes reducing speed limits, working from home three days a week, more electric cars, car-free Sundays, more cycle lanes, cheaper public transport and greater use of long-distance trains over planes.

Nathan: New York College To Host Convicted Cop Killer Jalil Muntaqim
The State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport has invited convicted cop killer Jalil Muntaqim, also known as Anthony Bottom, to speak on the topic of “History of Black Resistance, U.S. Political Prisoners & Genocide” in April. Muntaqim was convicted in 1971 of murdering two New York City police officers, Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones, in an ambush style attack, according to the New York Daily News. Muntaqim was a member of the Black Liberation Army (BLA), a violent offshoot of the Black Panthers, when he committed the murders. The BLA is responsible for murdering and wounding more than a dozen police officers, according to the FBI.

Those tributes came as a friend of the family revealed that Ricky had accidentally burned down his family’s home in December last year, completely destroying the property. ‘Just before Christmas, their house burned down,’ Aganetha Siemsens, who is not related to the victims, told DailyMail.com. ‘The 13-year-old made some eggs and forgot about it.’ Heinrich was a father of five, with his family part of the Mennonite church.
The youngster was driving the family’s Dodge truck when the front left tire, a spare, blew out as it hurdled down the flat Texas road at a high rate of speed, causing it to cross center line into on-coming traffic and slamming into a bus carrying eight University of the Southwest golf students, with six of those golfers and their coach all killed. These deaths on top of losing their home, has compounded the agony for the Siemens family.

Combustion engine cars should go the way of the dinosaur from 2035, according to the German government, who have announced they are backing a plan to ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars in the EU from that year on. Despite the country initially resisting Europe-wide legislation pushing for zero-emission cars, the Federal Republic has since about-faced on the idea of a motoring Great Reset, and will join others in the bloc looking to begin phasing out hydrocarbon-burning vehicles by 2035 or earlier.

Foreign nationals traveling to aid Ukraine’s war effort are reportedly being duped into signing indefinite service contracts. The Ukrainian Army has denied such allegations while failing to provide evidence of military contracts stating otherwise. As the nation’s war with Russia broke out, the International Legion for the Defence of Ukraine was been formed, with people from around the globe welcomed – and encouraged – to join the fight. At the beginning of March, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced to his Telegram channel that 16,000 foreigners (the number is now estimated to be 20,000) had volunteered.
[…] Contracts with the Ukrainian government allegedly state those joining will be under the “same obligations” as Ukrainian men, and that those fighting will be earning 7000 hryvnia a month (the equivalent of 237.37 dollars). Under martial law, the people who sign this contract from the ages of 18-60 will have to “remain in the Ukrainian foreign legion for the duration of war” – many feeling they are essentially signing a “death warrant”, according to eyewitness reports at The Economist.
