Francine_Rose .substack questions Merck’s, the original patent holder for Ivermectin, motive for a “new” at home remedy anti-viral pill to treat COVID:  If ivermectin inhibits and disrupts the binding of the covid protein to the ACE-2 receptors, it’s going to make it rather difficult for the virus to make copies of itself. So, as I understand it, in effect, this new pill does pretty much the same thing as ivermectin. Except it’s prettier, newer and most importantly, Merck will be able to patent it and make lots of money from it.

Sundance contributor to The Last Refuge: The long term impacts of antibody dependency are unknown.  Some doctors and scientists are already worried that normal cancer fighting antibodies will become dormant and we could see an explosion of unusual cancer clusters due to antibody suppression caused by the COVID vaccines. [Diminished natural killer cells] Remember, no one knows exactly what this targeted vaccine will do to the overall human immune system as it responds to other viruses or infections.  The vaccinated population are the human trial subjects, and the unvaccinated population are the control group.

John Lucas contributor to The Federalist: I respectfully submit that it is an over-simplification to suggest that Scheller has been jailed because he demanded accountability from senior leaders or that he has been “punished for fighting for freedom.” It is much more complex than that. He has been arrested and may be charged because he violated an order. Disobeying a lawful order is a cardinal sin in the military.

Bethany Blankley contributor to Just the News: In seven of the 10 states in the worst financial shape with the highest taxpayer burdens, the state government was under unified Democratic control (the governor and both houses of the state legislature were Democratic), while the other three were under divided control. None of the 10 states in the worst financial straits were Republican-controlled.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fl.) announces that his wife, Casey, has been diagnosed with breast cancer: “I am saddened to report that Florida’s esteemed First Lady and my beloved wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer. As the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as First Lady. As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up.”

US SUPREME COURT

Phillips: Supreme Court rejects appeal by D.C. residents for more representation in Congress in blow to statehood push and orders lower court to reconsider block on $3.6B for Trump’s border wall on first day of new term
The Supreme Court on Monday advised a lower court to reconsider earlier decisions on the border wall and rejected an appeal from Washington, D.C. residents for voting rights in Congress, delivering a blow to the districts statehood push. The high court on Monday directed lower courts to reconsider their previous rulings that froze funding for construction of a wall at the southern border. […]  The high court also rejected an appeal by Washington, DC residents from Washington, DC residents concerning their lack of voting rights. The decision affirmed a lower court ruling that DC residents are not entitled to congressional representation.

MANDATED VACCINATIONS: UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES?

Sundance: There It Is – Study Finds Predominance of Antibody-Resistant SARS-CoV-2 Variants in Vaccine Breakthrough Cases in San Francisco Bay Area
The California study finds that vaccinated individuals are more susceptible to COVID variant infections than unvaccinated.  Geer Vanden Bossche has been warning that vaccine antibodies would suppress natural antibody responses.  The vaccine antibodies take control of the immune system and defend only against a targeted virus. Among vaccinated individuals, a COVID variant virus is not recognized by the specialized antibodies provided by the vaccine, and the natural antibodies have been programmed to stand down. […]  Be careful around vaccinated people, because they can carry a more resistant form of COVID-19.  Additionally, the highly specialized antibodies in the vaccine create a need for a booster for each antibody resistant variant.  Israel is already on booster #2.

Merck, Ivermectin & Molnupiravir – A Tale of Two Pills
Lately, you would have heard a lot of drama regarding the first of our two pills, ivermectin, in the news. Most of it will be negatively biased against the Nobel Peace Prize winning medication. […]  Many articles are quick to point out the FDA, (the Australian version is the TGA) and the CDC have not “approved” ivermectin for use in Covid-19. These appeals to authority are meant to silence anybody who dares to offer a different view of the drug’s efficacy. However, many of these ‘anti-ivermectin’ news reports are leaving out a lot of the facts regarding ivermectin and the research that is already there and is ongoing. None seem to mention any of the positive case studies that abound of people recovering from Covid-19 who have used ivermectin as part of their treatment. […]  It just so happens that Merck, the former manufacturer of ivermectin has been working on a “new” anti-viral pill which will, when approved, would provide an at-home remedy for mild to moderate cases of Covid-19. This new pill will ironically work in much the same way as ivermectin.

A review of documents related to the 2020 election results reportedly shows the Office of the Georgia Secretary of State is missing chain-of-custody “transfer forms” for 6,995 absentee ballots in Fulton County. The documents were provided and reviewed by the Georgia State News in response to an open records request. The ballots were deposited in drop boxes throughout the county. Bernstein: China Flies 52 Military Planes into Taiwanese Airspace in Largest Incursion Ever
The Chinese military on Monday sent 52 military planes into Taiwan’s air defense zone — the most ever in a single day — one day after the U.S. issued a warning to Beijing over similar flights it conducted in recent days. China has sent 145 flights into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone in the past four days, including Monday’s incursion, which was first reported by Fox News. “The United States is very concerned by the People’s Republic of China’s provocative military activity near Taiwan, which is destabilizing, risks miscalculations, and undermines regional peace and stability,” the U.S. State Department said in a statement on Sunday evening. “We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan.” […]  Under the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act, the U.S. must support Taiwan’s defense capabilities against China.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING THE US MILITARY

EXCLUSIVE: Maj Gen Ordered 50+ Evacuees off One of Last Flights out of Kabul to Make Room for Taliban Souvenir
In what’s been described as a photo that “may become an enduring memory of the end of the U.S. war in Afghanistan,” Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue walks toward a C-17 transport plane at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, the last US military member who had boots on Afghan soil. In a number of articles penned in the following days, Donahue is characterized as “uniquely qualified” for that moment in time and generally depicted as a humble, understated leader of his division. Unfortunately, everything isn’t quite as it may seem. During the last hours of the evacuation, according to troops under his command and as documented by photographs and witness statements, Donahue ordered all of the passengers aboard a C-17 transport plane to disembark so he could have a souvenir loaded onto the plane. That souvenir, or “war trophy,” was an inoperable Taliban-owned Toyota Hilux with a fully operational Russian ZU-23 anti-aircraft autocannon mounted in the bed. Once the Hilux was loaded passengers were allowed back on the plane, but, of course, there wasn’t room for all of them. According to troops on the scene, at least 50 people and perhaps as many as 100 people were left at Kabul to make room for the Hilux. […]  Multiple sources within the military and the intelligence community have revealed to RedState that Donahue’s coordination with the Taliban that day included more than simply letting them know that we were checking out early. These sources say that Donahue provided the Taliban with . . .

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Bolar: What’s Inside The $3.5 Trillion Bernie-Biden Spending BlowoutPresident Biden campaigned on unity and bipartisanship, yet is trying to ram through the most expensive and extreme agenda of all time by circumventing Republican opposition. The $3.5 trillion spending blowout is the product of Bernie Sanders’ lifelong socialist vision for our country, and we simply can’t afford it. Here’s a breakdown of some of the major proposals inside, along with IWF’s take PROPOSAL: Universal prekindergarten and government-funded daycare. The mammoth budget resolution allocates hundreds of billions of dollars for childcare and preschool. It would likely require states to develop and submit childcare plans. Universal pre-K would be secured through block grants and expanded funding to Head Start. Our Take: Parents have every reason to fear that a government-approved preschool and daycare program would create the same problems parents face in K-12 public schools. Those disgusted with public schools’ COVID-era failures and curriculum controversies should reject the idea of putting the government in charge of daycare and preschool. Greater daycare or preschool enrollment does NOT . . . […]  PROPOSAL: Paid family and medical leave to allow employees to care for a new child or ailing relative, funded by taxpayers instead of private employers. Under the president’s proposal, the U.S. Treasury Department is tasked with . . . […]  PROPOSAL: Shore up the Affordable Care Act by making enhanced subsidies permanent, expand Medicare, and/or move toward a “Medicare for All”-style model, as championed by Sen. Bernie Sanders. The $3.5 trillion Biden-Sanders spending spree includes at least $1.1 trillion in new health care spending, including . . . […]  PROPOSAL: Green New Deal-style climate policies. Sen. Bernie Sanders is spearheading a massive push for climate policies inside the budget bill that would have drastic implications on the American economy. As detailed by . . .[…]  PROPOSAL: Finance the $3.5 trillion spending bill with taxes on corporations and individuals with incomes over $400,000 a year, negotiating the price of prescription drugs, and other budgeting gimmicks. The proposal would increase the federal corporate tax rate to . . .

Sundance: White House Occupant Blames Republicans for Democrats Refusing to Raise Debt Ceiling
The Democrats control the White House, the House of Representatives and the Senate.  If Democrats want to raise the debt ceiling they can do so at any time.  However, because media provides them cover; and because the larger American electorate do not seem to understand how congress works; the White House is attempting to blame Republicans for Democrats not wanting to raise the debt ceiling.  The insanity continues….

Spencer: ‘A Giant Can of Worms’: Afghans Are Walking Off U.S. Bases, No One Knows Where They Are
“It’s a giant can of worms,” said a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services official who asked not to be named, and in these days of rapidly increasing Biden administration authoritarianism, it’s easy to see why. Grateful Afghan refugees are, according to Reuters, upsetting the establishment narrative in large numbers by engaging in “independent departures” from the U.S. military bases where the evacuees are being housed. That is, they’re getting up and walking away, and no one knows where they are. At least 700 Afghans have now left various military bases and are somewhere in the United States. Over 300 have vanished from Fort Bliss alone. No one knows where. What could possibly go wrong? Remember: Biden’s handlers have no idea who most of these people are.

GOVERNMENT’S NEXT TARGET: PARENTS

Perez Jr.: Garland taps FBI in response to ‘disturbing spike’ in threats against educators
Recent school board meetings have been packed with protestors who denounce Covid-19 mask mandates, political interpretations of critical race theory and other highly-politicized issues. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday ordered federal law enforcement authorities to huddle with local leaders in the coming weeks to address what the nation’s top prosecutor called a recent “disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence” against educators and school board members. The Justice Department will also unveil a series of additional measures in the coming days to “address the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel,” Garland wrote in a memorandum to federal prosecutors and FBI Director Christopher Wray. The department said they’re expected to include a training program and a new federal task force stacked with representatives from the department’s criminal, civil rights and national security divisions. “Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values,” Garland wrote. “Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.”

Greenfield: Biden’s AG Garland Launches Effort to Intimidate Parents Complaining About Critical Race Theory
If you’re a Democrat hate group like Black Lives Matter, you can wound hundreds of police officers, burn neighborhoods, and terrorize millions of people with zero consequences. The FBI won’t even consider tracking you. But parents who complain about critical race theory? Biden and AG Merrick Garland are on it. Citing an increase in harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members, teachers and workers in our nation’s public schools, today Attorney General Merrick B. Garland directed the FBI and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices to meet in the next 30 days with federal, state, Tribal, territorial and local law enforcement leaders to discuss strategies for addressing this disturbing trend. These sessions will open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment and response by law enforcement.    “Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values,” wrote Attorney General Garland.

Cashill: The COVID Survey That Should Have Rocked the World
Instead, to protect blue staters from the consequences of their obsessions, the New York Times punted. In March 2021, a year into the Covid-19 pandemic, the New York Times shared the results of a comprehensive survey of 35,000 Americans done by Gallup and Franklin Templeton. True to form, the Times refused to face the survey’s epic implications. The Times started pulling punches in the headline, “Covid’s Partisan Errors: Republicans tend to underestimate Covid risks — and Democrats tend to exaggerate them.” This equivocation papered over the real news hook of the story, namely that health officials and their media enablers scared policy makers, especially in blue states, into making catastrophic, fear-based misjudgments. “To many liberals, Covid has become another example of the modern Republican Party’s hostility to facts and evidence,” wrote reporter David Leonhardt, unaware that he just delivered a laugh line. In assessing the GOP worldview, Leonhardt, like most of his media colleagues, saw hostility in just about every Republican gesture. Later in the article, for instance, he observed, “Conservatives tend to be more hostile to behavior restrictions and to scientific research.” An unbiased copy editor might have rewritten that sentence, “Conservatives tend to have a strong belief in individual freedom and can be skeptical of scientific research.” Unfortunately no such copy editor exists at the Times.

Lifson: Decriminalizing gang bangers, Soros prosecutor Kim Foxx declines to charge five arrested in fatal gang shootout, citing ‘mutual combatants’
Chicago now is like Dodge City before Marshal Dillon arrived: a fatal shootout on its streets is no crime because both sides were shooting.  The Windy City already is world famous for shootouts on its streets, with an astounding 3,625 shootings so far this year, 623 of them fatal. (That death toll would be higher save for the city’s superb medical care for gunshot victims, made possible by all the practice its trauma surgeons receive.) But how many more shooting matches will start now that the word is going out that you can escape charges in a gang shootout — even if someone is killed — if both sides are shooting?
An escalating number of shootouts is the inescapable implication of the decision of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to release all five suspects arrested in a fatal shootout between rival gangs in the city’s Southside Austin neighborhood, not too far from the Obama Monument.  The head of that office, Kim Foxx, was elected with considerable financial support from George Soros, who has help elect many soft-on-crime prosecutors across the US. Tom Schuba writes in the Chicago Sun-Times:

Blankley: Seven of the 10 states in worst financial condition are run by Democrats
In seven of the 10 states in the worst financial shape with the highest taxpayer burdens, the state government was under unified Democratic control (the governor and both houses of the state legislature were Democratic), while the other three were under divided control. None of the 10 states in the worst financial straits were Republican-controlled. The twelfth annual Financial State of the States report ranks all 50 states by their financial health based on the latest available data from states’ fiscal year 2020 audited Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports. “Despite receiving federal assistance from the CARES Act and other COVID-19 related grants, the majority of states’ finances worsened,” the report found. “Total debt among the 50 states amounted to $1.5 trillion at the end of the fiscal year 2020.” […]  The 10 states in the worst financial condition with the highest taxpayer burdens are: Connecticut ($62,500), New Jersey ($58,300), Illinois ($57,000), Massachusetts ($38,100), Hawaii ($37,000), Delaware ($31,300), Kentucky ($26,000), Vermont ($24,700), California ($21,100) and New York ($20,100).
