Pearce: Ted Cruz Derails Democrats’ Late-Night Push To Pass Federal Election ‘Takeover’
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blocked an attempt by Senate Democrats to push through a federal election overhaul bill early Wednesday morning. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) brought the For The People Act, a bill critics say amounts to a federal takeover of elections, to the floor around 3:30 a.m. after the Senate had concluded 15 hours of amendment votes on a $3.5 trillion budget resolution. In the dead of night, Schumer sought to pass the federal overhaul of elections by unanimous consent, according to the Houston Chronicle. Only one objection by a senator was required to stop the process. In a roughly 15-minute back-and-forth, Cruz tanked Schumer’s attempt to force the election bill through the Senate. Ryun: Republican Betrayal on Fake Infrastructure Bill
The so-called infrastructure bill that 19 miserable, loathsome Republican senators just helped to pass shows the utter worthlessness of a corporatist Republican Party out of touch with its constituents. Most of these senators are from red states, and many of them are people Trump bailed out in 2016 and 2020 (including McTurtle) and helped to get reelected. They just gave their voters, and the American people, the middle finger. One can’t help but think they’re either incredibly stupid or incredibly corrupt; probably both if we’re being honest. Not only does this bill add anywhere from $256 to $400 billion to our roughly $30 trillion national debt, it has very little to do with anything accurately labeled “infrastructure.” Only $110 billion of the $1.2 trillion is for highways, roads, bridges and major projects. If you throw in the monies for airports, ports, and assorted other items, you might get to 23 percent of this monstrosity designated for actual infrastructure. The other 77 percent of the bill’s funding reads like a far left wish list that paves the way for the Green New Deal.

Meet Bettina L. Love, A Critical Race Theorist Coming To A School Near You
Bettina L. Love, an “anti-racist” professor at the University of Georgia, is an Ibram X. Kendi figure who is also reaching thousands of American children and paid by taxpayer dollars. In addition to preaching critical race theory (CRT) in public schools across the nation, including, as reported by The Federalist, at an Indiana conference for teachers backed by taxpayer dollars, the Biden administration quietly supported Love’s work before that became too hot to handle. As Stanley Kurtz noted in a recent article reviewing Love’s most recent book, “Civic education that teaches children to ‘pay their taxes, vote, volunteer, and have good character’ is rejected by Love as ‘code for comply, comply, comply.’ ‘History tells us,’ Love says, ‘that dark folx’ humanity is dependent on how much they disobey and fight for justice.’” Back in June, top Indiana Republicans declined to condemn the state for allocating resources to a state forum that paid Love to lecture on her theories about the United States engaging in the “spirit murder” of non-white children. David Keltz, a spokesman for Republican state Attorney General Todd Rokita, who claims to oppose CRT, also declined to respond to The Federalist’s inquiry this week into whether Indiana should have allowed tax dollars to go toward the controversial event. Something else happened in June. The Biden administration was exposed for its involvement with Love’s group, “The Abolitionist Teaching Network.”

Americans are growing angrier by the day in a way different from prior sagebrush revolts such as the 1960s Silent Majority or Tea Party furor of over a decade ago. The rage at the current status quo this time is not just fueled by conservatives. For the first time in their lives, all Americans of all classes and races are starting to fear a self-created apocalypse that threatens their families’ safety and the American way of life. The border is not just porous as in the pre-Trump past. It is nonexistent. Some 2 million people may cross illegally in the current fiscal year—with complete impunity. There is zero effort to stop them. Officials daily hector Americans to get vaccinated and tested for COVID. But they are mute about illegal entrants, some of them infected with the virus. Have we ever had a president who made no pretense about destroying federal immigration law and asking of Americans what he does not of illegal aliens?
Joe Biden has also conceded that his hold on housing evictions deliberately defied a Supreme Court ruling. He added that he probably did not have the legal authority to ignore the court, but did not really care. As in the case of demolishing immigration law, the president seems either unaware or proud that he is insidiously dismantling the Constitution. America has also never quite seen such overt and multifaceted efforts to undermine the foundations of free-market capitalism.

Last week, a group of scientists sent shock waves through the climate-science community. They boldly pointed out that current climate models exaggerate greenhouse warming. In other words, they confirmed what climate skeptics have been arguing all along: that most computer climate models forecast unrealistic warming — warming not observed anywhere in the real world. Could this be a turning point for climate science? Has the hitherto staunch resistance to any kind of scrutiny regarding the dangerous warming narrative come to an end? Science is not a body of facts. It is a method of finding facts — a method that is inherently skeptical. Not cynically skeptical, but humbly skeptical. It insists, as the motto of the Royal Society, nullius in verba, roughly translated “take nobody’s word for it,” that a scientist’s every claim be tested — over and over and over. Thus, as the philosopher of science Robert K. Merton put it in 1938, “Most institutions demand unqualified faith; but the institution of science makes skepticism a virtue.”
