Greenwood: Elections experts call on Justice Department to send monitors to Arizona audit
A group of election security and administration experts are asking the Justice Department to send federal monitors to Arizona as the Republican-led state Senate carries out an audit of 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County in the state’s 2020 presidential election. In a letter to the top official at the Justice Department’s voting section, five elections experts from the Brennan Center for Justice, Protect Democracy and The Leadership Conference expressed deep concerns about how the audit is being conducted, warning that it has put ballots “in danger of being stolen, defaced, or irretrievably damaged.”

Retake Main Street or prepare to be homeless.[…] It’s notable how little owned space conservatives have in any domain. This can include physical space as well as social and cultural space. One of the biggest problems faced by conservatives is that they exist almost entirely inside space owned by others—legally owned in many cases, but as importantly socially and culturally owned. […] Virtually every major corporation, major education institution, and major cultural and media institution in America embraces and promotes the values and preferred policies of the left. So does essentially every major American city and economic center. The left owns them. There are remarkably few genuinely conservative institutions in America outside of politics and religion (where they are actually many deeply conservative state governments and churches). This means in their basic day to day existence of life in America, whether that be going to work, shopping, reading the news, or watching sports or mass entertainment, conservatives exist largely inside space owned by others—space from which they can be expelled at any time, often with significant negative personal consequences. The typical conservative response to perceived problems of growing leftist ownership of space is to leave—to move to a red state, a suburb, etc. This establishes a mindset of retreat and running away. Conservatives have ceded not just territory and institutions to the left, but those of highest value, some of which can never be replicated.

DC was locked down at the time (May/June 2020), so there were very few people around. However, this guy’s credentials within the DC system were impeccable. I checked him out afterward & was stunned at how he spent his entire career in/around the IC and related apparatus 3.) After a lengthy and casual introduction and discussion, I was genuinely shocked at the severity of his warnings about the FBI, DOJ and various other agencies. However, in hindsight, after checking him out, I realized he was certainly a person to understand. 4.) His warning was direct, devoid of emotion, very deliberate and very cold. But behind his eyes and words was a guy telling the truth; the quiet part that no-one inside the bubble says openly. 5) . . .

Reform requires congressional action to repeal Section 230 and replace it with a liability framework that corrects misguided court decisions, as well as Big Tech’s ability to silence voices and censor robust democratic debate.

Southern Baptist pastor and theologian Al Mohler on Wednesday rebuked a United Methodist Church (UMC) congregation in Illinois for being led by a drag queen and claimed the growing fissure in Protestantism over LGBT issues is turning into “two religions.” During the Wednesday episode of his podcast “The Briefing,” Mohler, who is also president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, denounced Hope United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Illinois, for allowing Isaac Simmons to be in a position of church leadership and promoting him as a candidate for the ministry. Simmons, who is an openly gay man, dresses up as a woman even during his sermons.
