NOTABLE QUOTES

John Stuart Mill who was considered one of the most influential thinkers in the history of classical liberalism wrote: A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

McCotter: President Trump’s Unique Political Strengths
In 2020, the Left has destroyed itself while Republican populism found itself. The first unique political strength is that President Trump is blessed with his enemies. This is sometimes a challenging concept for apolitical (i.e., normal) people—and even for many politicians—to grasp. After all, the vast majority of people avoid having enemies and certainly wouldn’t court them. Yet, in politics, one’s enemies’ attacks earn candidates their partisan stripes amongst their party’s base. This applies to both major parties (and likely minor parties, as well). […] President Trump’s second unique political strength is how he brings out the worst in his enemies. Animus has eternally animated relations between politicians; ask Julius Caesar. And like Julius Caesar, Donald Trump has an uncanny ability to . . .

U.S. SUPREME COURT

Arlanson: We Don’t Need SCOTUS to Win
The Texas suit, later joined by other states, against Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia, was a nice try, but it was always a long shot. Of course SCOTUS would be reluctant to grab so much power by ordering state legislatures to seat the right electors. Why? Because the power is already in the hands of the legislatures to do this. Though we are non-lawyers, let’s read these laws together, interpreting them minimally and plainly (something lawyers seem incapable of doing). The first federal law for our purposes, titled “Determination of controversy as to appointment of electors,” says: . . .

THE FIGHT FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY

Ly: Trump’s Legal Team Considering Alternate Options After Supreme Court Rejects Texas Election Suit
Attorneys on President Donald Trump’s legal team, Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, shared on Friday that the team is considering filing separate lawsuits to district courts in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s rejection of a lawsuit from Texas to challenge the 2020 election results in four battleground states. The two attorneys also called for courage from the courts to allow hearings on the lawsuits. Justices on the nation’s highest court late Friday denied the Lone Star state’s request to sue Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin. They opined that Texas lacked legal standing—or capability—to sue under the Constitution because it has not shown a valid interest to intervene in how other states handle their elections. In an interview with Newsmax, Giuliani called the court’s decision a “terrible terrible mistake.”

IF ELECTION CORRUPTION PREVAILS

Bedford: Biden Is Poised To Hand Republicans An Incredible Tool To Investigate The Hunter Corruption Scandal
All of these positions require Senate approval, and during the Obama years all of these people were in position to know a little — or a lot — about Joe Biden’s ne’er-do-well tag-along son. China, Ukraine, tax fraud, corruption, and federal investigations. After a year of partisan attacks and obfuscations, media smears and derision, and Big Tech censorship and de-platformings, this week the Hunter Biden protection chamber finally collapsed. As reporting by The New York Post, The Daily Caller News Foundation, James Rosen, Tucker Carlson, The Federalist, and others continues to pile up, corroborated drip by drip, so too do the questions for both the incoming Biden administration and the former Obama administration. Fortunately for interested U.S. senators, the two administrations are stacking up to be virtually identical — and they just might get the chance to ask a few questions.

WUHAN FLU: IT’S POLITICS

Lennox: Senator Rand Paul Torches Dr. Fauci and Company
Senate HS&GA Committee Hearing on ivermectin for outpatient use in COVID-19.
On Tuesday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held a hearing on early and outpatient treatment of COVID-19. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) went after the health bureaucracy, mentioning Dr. Fauci by name. He roasted the government experts for crushing dissenting views and holding their own opinions above others. In Dr. Paul’s opening remarks, he apologized for the behavior of Ranking Member Gary Peters (D-Mich.), who was dismissive and left the hearing. Paul said that science is about debate, evidence, and discussion. Contentious debate, Paul said, is how we get to the truth. He asserted that Peters’ failure to engage in this process and reliance on consensus is how science dies. […] He cautioned that no one has the market cornered on being right about COVID-19. “But it’s a mistake to say one person should have all the power to determine what we should do,” the senator said. “When we place too much confidence in government doctors, such as Dr. Fauci. Dr. Kory (a witness on the panel) mentioned it. He mentioned in June about steroids. I mentioned it in March when Dr. Fauci came into my committee hearing.”

TAKE ACTION

The Prickly Pear’s TAKE ACTION focus this year is to help achieve a winning 2024 national and state November 5th election with the removal of the Biden/Obama leftist executive branch disaster, win one U.S. Senate seat, maintain and win strong majorities in all Arizona state offices on the ballot and to insure that unrestricted abortion is not constitutionally embedded in our laws and culture.

Please click the TAKE ACTION link to learn to do’s and don’ts for voting in 2024. Our state and national elections are at great risk from the very aggressive and radical leftist Democrat operatives with documented rigging, mail-in voter fraud and illegals voting across the country (yes, with illegals voting across the country) in the last several election cycles.

Read Part 1 and Part 2 of The Prickly Pear essays entitled How NOT to Vote in the November 5, 2024 Election in Arizona to be well informed of the above issues and to vote in a way to ensure the most likely chance your vote will be counted and counted as you intend.
