When pressed on the validity of Warner’s remarks, an FBI representative confirmed to The Federalist that the agency has resumed communications with social media companies ahead of the 2024 election. […] Neither the FBI nor CISA responded when pressed on when they restarted communications with social media companies on efforts to remove posts containing so-called “disinformation” from their platforms. Hanneman: Jan. 6 Arrests Running at Nearly Double the Rate of 2023 and 2022: Report

Nearly 1,425 people have been arrested on Jan. 6 charges, with 2024 arrests running at almost double the rate from 2023 and 2022, a U.S. Department of Justice report shows. Through close of business on May 3, the FBI has arrested 1,424 suspects in the 40 months since the breach and violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the DOJ reported in its monthly update. Surrounded by lawmakers and election integrity watchdogs, Johnson laid out the case for urgent passage of the newly unveiled Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, aimed at shoring up glaring holes in the 30-year-old National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) passed during a simpler time, when politicians believed in borders. The bill would amend the 1993 “Motor Voter” law to require individuals to provide proof of citizenship before they are automatically registered to vote at state departments of motor vehicles and other agencies. It also requires states to remove foreign nationals from their voting rolls, something too many state election officials have been loath to do. The NVRA does not require direct proof of citizenship for voter registration.

Last week an event took place that illustrates the folly of negotiating with passionate ideologues and autocrats with whom there is no common ground for a meeting of the minds necessary for a true agreement. This practical wisdom, based on human experience going back 28 centuries to Homer, has been forgotten by most modern Western leaders and foreign policy hands, who believe that negotiations, non-lethal “engagement,” and persuasion can override an autocratic adversary’s passionate interests and ambitions that by nature conflict with our own. The occasion was a three-day, humiliating meeting that our Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, attended in China. As Gatestone Institute’s Gordon Chang reported, “China, literally and figuratively, did not roll out the red carpet for [Blinken’s] arrival in Shanghai on Wednesday. Only a low-level official was on hand to greet Blinken as he stepped off the plane.” Charles Burton of the Sinopsis think-tank told Gatestone, “Aside from a calculated insult to the dignity of the United States, the move indicates Xi Jinping is making clear that the accepted norms of diplomacy will not be respected by China anymore.”

The entry into Rafah serves two of the main objectives of the war: Returning our hostages and eliminating Hamas.” During an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Biden said that if Israel enters Rafah, he will not provide weapons that have “historically” been employed to “deal with Rafah.” The U.S. will seek to ensure Israel is secure as it pertains to the Iron Dome and its ability to react to attacks, Biden said. But he noted that he has warned Netanyahu and the war cabinet that they will not receive U.S. support if they enter population centers. Greenfield: Biden’s Arms Embargo Betrays Israel and America

If the president’s “ironclad commitment” is worthless when it comes to Israel, what’s it worth to the rest of the world? “My commitment to the safety of the Jewish people, the security of Israel, and its right to exist as an independent Jewish state is ironclad, even when we disagree,” Biden falsely claimed in a speech at the Holocaust Museum. That was right before he slapped an arms embargo on the Jewish State. The ironclad commitment turned out to be a knife in the back. The commitment was as good as the one that Biden had made to rescue Americans from Afghanistan and to bring all our soldiers home.

During a joint news conference on Monday, both governors told reporters it breaks a century-old system of gubernatorial authority, violates trust between National Guard members and the government, and could impact military readiness. “We urge the Air Force to work with governors to find a better way forward,” Cox said. […] The Department of Defense submitted the plan, officially titled Legislative Proposal 480, in March to the Senate Armed Services Committee. It would move all Air National Guardsman with space-related missions from state to federal control, placing them under the umbrella of the U.S. Air Force, specifically the Space Force. […] The governors said the law runs afoul of Title 10 and Title 32, which grant governors authority over the state’s National Guard.
