The Battle Lines Are Drawn
The enemy is at the gate and where are our local representatives?
With so much taking place on the national scene, we forget to take a close look at what is taking place here in Arizona and what our Arizona elected officials are or are not doing to speak out against the continued onslaught of the woke ideology.
Just recently, here in the City of Prescott, we had a city council member rewrite Dr. Martin Luther King’s originally quoted words, simply for the purpose of a proclamation honoring MLK Day to be more representative of a DEI and a woke ideology for that proclamation. Other than our Mayor Phil Goode, where was the outrage or the condemnation from the rest of the city council, most of whom are registered Republicans, to reject those changes, which I understand were made by Prescott City Councilman Brandon Montoya?
Thank you, Mayor Goode, for standing firm and voicing your rejection of that proclamation.
We are witnessing several local anti-Trump and anti-Musk events taking place across our state. Yet, I have not seen one of our Arizona State Legislators, Congressmen, or county officials, who call themselves Republicans, speak out against these protestors and publicly rally in support of President Trump’s mandate to clean the swamp.
Where are our local Republican organizations? Why are they not demonstrating strength and unity for our true conservative values and publicly rallying to stand in support of President Trump?
Yes, it is easy to sit back and believe that counterprotests are counterproductive or that peacefully rallying against these anti-Trump, anti-American protestors only helps to legitimize them. Such is the expressed opinion by the leadership of “YavGop” (Yavapai County GOP). I personally am not convinced that the vast majority of the YavGOP members are conservative rank-and-file members who agree with leadership.
This begs the question: Where would we be today if our Founding Fathers and those brave American patriots had looked the other way against the injustices and the ensuing subjugation by England had they decided to take the same approach as today’s local Republican clubs and organizations?
Maybe our local Republican clubs and organizations do not yet feel the yoke of tyranny and oppression, bearing down on them as did our founders. Is that what they are waiting for?
I mentioned in a previous article in The Prickly Pear the misdirected efforts (in my opinion) from our local elected Senator Mesnard of LD 13 and his desire to arbitrarily give teachers an across-the-board salary increase, with absolutely no accountability for the improvement of student proficiency.
Here we are, just barely over 60 days into Trump’s administration, and the hatred and vitriol coming from the left is more apparent than even I could have ever imagined. Who would have thought that any of us would see the day that abortion would be an accepted means of birth control right up to and perhaps even after viability? Here is Arizona’s most recent abortion law. Pathetic!
Well, apparently, far too many voters still choose to stay ignorant of the facts and only listen to those fifteen-second sound bites of the propagandists on the left.
Why do we find members of Congress and the Senate supporting, and in fact glorifying, those who are so willing to take an innocent life? Why do some of our elected officials refer to these abortionists as brave individuals? Are they courageous individuals or just godless and soulless persons much like those who support them? Perhaps it just comes down to the almighty dollar?
After President Trump’s successful election and a clear mandate from the American people on November 5, 2024, we were hopeful the lawfare would stop. Unfortunately, the left has only doubled down on its efforts to halt the common-sense progress this administration is making to Make America Great Again.
Just recently, a federal District Court Judge, “James Boasberg,” apparently believes that hardcore TDA, MS-13, and other designated members of terrorist groups and violent illegal immigrant criminals, should have the right to stay in our country despite the clear Constitutional authority granted to our President. Could any of his rulings be prejudicial against Trump in an effort to protect his family members’ political ties?
Judge Boasberg is the same judge who gave little importance to the FBI attorney “Kevin Clinesmith”, who knowingly and intentionally lied on a FISA warrant during the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax against President Trump. Boasberg issued nothing more than a slap on the wrist for Kevin Clinesmith.

Most recently on this same issue of deporting these hard-core illegal immigrant terrorists and criminals, we have a District Court Appeals Judge, invoking and equating the treatment of Nazis being tried for war crimes, as a comparison to the deportation of these illegal criminals.
As the grandson of a holocaust survivor, I find U.S. Circuit Judge Patricia Millett’s comment disgusting and despicable.
Yes, the battle lines are drawn. It is up to us, “We the People”, to remember that our voices, raised in peaceful protest, are more potent than the soulless and Godless individuals hell bent on destroying our nation’s greatness.
I call on all true Conservatives to remember: Stand for something or you will fall for anything.
