The legislation applies to private and public K-12 schools and colleges. Also, in April, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a law allowing teacher carry. Armed teachers and staff will be required to undergo 40 hours of training and then be allowed to carry handguns in their classrooms. The legislation also requires criminal and mental health background checks and a psychological examination.

Remember President Barack Obama’s response to a question concerning his thoughts on American exceptionalism? Yes, the president replied, he believed in American exceptionalism—just as a Brit believes in British exceptionalism or a Greek believes in Greek exceptionalism. A perfect Obama response. Glib and flip. Right and wrong. Of course, he was right that most everyone believes that one’s country is unique in some exceptional way. Before defining this exceptionalism, let’s recall a few of candidate Obama’s words on the eve of his 2008 election. He told his cheering listeners that they were just days away from “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” Hyperbole? To be sure. But there was a point—and a goal—behind such fundamentally radical rhetoric.

But what if there is no famine?

For the uninitiated, the New York Times has run a series of reports about which flags the good Justice and his wife have flown over their properties. Mrs. Alito raised an upside-down American flag over their suburban Maryland residence amid a dispute with a neighbor. The Times linked the Alitos’ flag to the fact that a few January 6 rioters also flew our national emblem upside-down, signaling distress. A reporter was then dispatched to the couple’s vacation home on the Jersey Shore to confirm that they had flown the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, a Revolutionary War naval ensign. Long accepted as a symbol of the American Founding and particularly popular in my native New England, the flag has been transformed into a culture war issue almost overnight. The Times has convinced its progressive readership that the ensign is a “provocative flag” and a symbol of the far right because some of the J6ers carried it as well. If this seems like a spurious attempt to link Justice Alito to the Capitol riot, that’s because it is. But it’s not the full story. The Left is also trying to alienate a good number of Americans from the iconography of their country’s founding.

We have another incident of FBI agents creeping on law-abiding Americans. The reason for these visits is political. The agency is targeting people who are upsetting the liberal apple cart; whether it’s posting anti-Biden memes or sounding off on alleged Medicaid fraud concerning transgender surgeries, the Feds will bear down on your home to harass you. The latest incident involves a Texas nurse who noticed potentially illegal felonious activity pertaining to transgender health care. […] Sivadge alleges that the doctors involved in the surgeries, Richard Ogden Roberts David Paul, and Kristy Rialon, might be manipulating their patients to mutilate themselves. Sivadge spoke with Rufo about these alleged misdeeds, after which two FBI agents appeared at her home (via City Journal): […] two months after I spoke with her for that story, Sivadge called me in a panic. The FBI had sent two special agents, Paul Nixon and David McBride, to her home. . . . a society interested in protecting its people from manipulation would be highly invested in educating citizens from a young age how to use reason, rationality, and logic to filter truth from falsehood. Aside from a smattering of classical and religious schools that focus on how to assess information and judge its credibility, it is evident that Western educational systems have been designed with no such purpose in mind. Students are taught what to think but not how to think. They are handed bits of knowledge without first being provided the cognitive tools for acquiring knowledge on their own. They have no appreciation for how misleading rhetoric and faulty logic are used to produce spurious arguments. They have no background in philosophy sufficient to arm them with the mental acuity necessary to spot and reject propaganda. They have no comprehension of the linguistic games that are used to program their minds. They lack shrewd discernment. What does it say about a civilization that generally requires young people to spend thirteen or more years in public school systems engineered to produce mediocre minds? It should set off alarm bells! When governments are in the business of dumbing down citizens, they are investing in future generations who will be obedient slaves. Or, if an animal farm metaphor makes it easier for a millennial “influencer” to understand, Western governments prefer easily managed cattle that they can move from pen to pen before sending them to the slaughterhouse (think: Ukraine). What they do not want is an independent-minded cow knocking over a fence and freeing the herd from certain death. Schools, like penitentiaries, are institutions for corralling large numbers of humans together, so that a mixture of indoctrination and punishment can be efficiently administered until most learn to “behave.” When Western education mimics Western incarceration, Western citizens should start to wonder just who the real prisoners are.

Even as the media was lambasting former President Trump for attacking Judge Juan Merchan over his conflict of interest, it was also busy investigating the flag waving habits of Justice Samuel Alito’s wife and eventually wiretapping the Supreme Court justice’s spouse. […] Family members of elected officials and judges are entitled to privacy. Unless they’re conservatives in which case they’re absolutely fair game for any sleazy publicity stunt.

Grossman: Pilot union suggests phasing out masculine terms, says ‘cockpit,’ ‘father’ is offensive to DEI culture

The world’s largest airline pilot union suggested airmen and women stop using terms purportedly offensive to women and LGBTQ individuals, calling out terms like “cockpit” as non-inclusive. Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l, represents over 70,000 pilots worldwide and states that it collaborates with a United Nations agency on its policies. According to a diversity, equity and inclusion language guide released in 2021, the ALPA lists numerous terms and phrases to avoid — especially “masculine generalizations” — that it deemed to be non-inclusive.

Hypersexualized ‘pride’ parades function as humiliation rituals and an excuse to push sexual deviancy in people’s faces. Warning: This article contains sexual imagery. It’s that time of year again. The time when, for 30 seemingly never-ending days, rainbow flags (or whichever new convoluted color-coded version they’ve conjured up this year) take over entertainment, corporate logos, and the streets of cities across the country. Not even ruby-red states can escape the influence of “Pride Month.” The centerpiece of this debauched revelry is the “pride” parade. Now there are so many of these in the U.S. that some outlets feel the need to rank them, and even smaller locales feel the need to host festivities. With the growth of these processions as a nationwide phenomenon, the frequency of grown men showing up to them in full BDSM gear, stripper attire, or even just a diaper has also increased. These men also use the occasion to act in almost every sexually vulgar way possible, including twerking in front of small children. This is a deliberate choice. A feature, not a bug. In 2021, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus achieved instant infamy when it released a song with the lyrics, “We’ll convert your children. Happens bit by bit. Quietly and subtly. And you will barely notice it.“ Last year, attendees at the NYC Drag March during “Pride Month” chanted “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.” One commentator at a “pride” parade in Los Angeles this year told KTLA that his “favorite part” of the event — which featured drag queens and scantily clad men — was “going out there and seeing all the kids.”

‘Some groups are more equal than others’. LGBT promoters for years have been demanding “non-discrimination” laws and regulations across America, claiming, “All we want is equality.” Now, it seems, they want a little more than equality. The Daily Mail reports a housing complex is being planned and promoted in Portland, Maine, that would allow LGBT residents exclusively. It’s called The Equality Community Center, which is expected to be a new five-story housing unit for members of the LGBT community who are 55 or older.

Lapin/JTA: Queer Cincinnati Pride organizers forced to resign over Jewish identity

After finding themselves on the receiving end of a socialist group’s “Naming and Shaming” campaign, two married Jewish organizers of a Cincinnati-area Pride group resigned from their roles last week over concerns for their personal safety. “Individuals and Organizations have targeted our board members, including [with] threats of violence,” Cincinnati Pride said in an Instagram statement. The incident – an apparent act of revenge after socialist groups were removed from a June 2 Pride event in northern Kentucky for distributing flyers calling Israel’s conduct in Gaza part of a “Final Solution” against Palestinians – was a prominent example of the tensions arising for LGBTQ Jews during Pride month, as the ongoing Israel-Hamas war continues to induce divisions in progressive spaces.

Europe has a duty to host children hurt and traumatized by war in Gaza for as long as the conflict continues, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis told Reuters on Wednesday. Gerapetritis is seeking partners in what he hopes would be a project to temporarily bring the children to the European Union, and said he discussed the idea with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa this week.

This indoctrination is complemented and amplified by parents, especially mothers, who express joy over their children’s martyrdom and willingness to sacrifice all their children to the cause. As part of this indoctrination – which is carried out via multiple platforms, such as Hamas’ kindergartens, schools and summer camps – children are taught that waging jihad is a religious duty and that martyrdom earns the believer a greater reward in heaven than any other action or virtue. The objective of jihad, they learn, is to liberate Palestine, from the river to the sea, from the Jews, who have no right to exist there, and to eliminate the state of Israel. The messages imparted to children is replete with antisemitic motifs that demonize the Jews, presenting them as the eternal enemies of the Muslims, as subhuman “descendants of apes and pigs,” and as bloodthirsty savages with whom no dialogue or reconciliation is possible. In addition to ideological and religious indoctrination, young children and teens also receive intensive military training as preparation for joining Hamas’ military wing or one of the other terror organizations as adults. This training takes place in Hamas’ schools, but especially in the organization’s vast network of summer camps.
