Virginia state officials agreed to settle a lawsuit with a Christian wedding photographer after he refused to use his business to celebrate same-sex marriage, according to a press release. Bob Updegrove filed a lawsuit against Attorney General Jason Miyares and Christine Lambrou Johnson, the director of the state’s Office of Civil Rights, in September 2020 after a state law required him to affirm same-sex marriage in his photography business, according to court documents. Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the law firm representing Updegrove, announced Monday that the state had agreed to settle following the recent Supreme Court decision in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, which determined that the government cannot compel a business owner’s speech, according to a press release. “Free speech is for everyone. As the Supreme Court recently affirmed in 303 Creative, the government can’t force Americans to say things they don’t believe,” Johannes Widmalm-Delphonse, counsel for ADF, said in the press release.

Habba raged at James for allegedly calling Trump “a liar” inside the courtroom earlier Monday. James brought the civil suit against Trump and his three oldest children in Sept. 2022 seeking $250 million in damages over accusations that the Trump family manipulated asset values to benefit their real estate business.

A new report provides fresh evidence that infamous January 6 provocateur Ray Epps may have been an FBI plant. In the first of a two-part series, “Truth in Media” host Lara Logan spoke with Anthime Gionet, also known as “Baked Alaska,” a right-wing influencer formerly associated with the “alt right.” Video footage from January 5, 2021 and earlier indicate that Epps appeared to be particularly interested in Gionet, who was later sentenced to two months in prison for his participation in the riot at the US Capitol. Gionet (Baked Alaska) was one of several people who filmed Epps on the evening of January 5, 2021 outside BLM Plaza as he told Trump supporters “we need to go into the Capitol!” At first, Gionet said he was amused by Epps’ exhortation to breach the Capitol, and yelled ‘let’s go!’ in response, but after he saw him repeat the line several times to different groups that night, he became convinced the “boomer” was an FBI plant and was up to no good.

The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway and Sean Davis were among several prominent conservatives targeted by a federal censorship operation carried out during the 2020 election, according to a new bombshell congressional report. Released by the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government on Monday, the interim report documents how the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Global Engagement Center (GEC), which fall within the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department, respectively, colluded with Stanford University to pressure Big Tech companies into censoring what they claimed to be “disinformation” during the 2020 election. According to the analysis, this operation aimed to censor “true information, jokes and satire, and political opinions,” with prominent conservatives such as Hemingway and Davis being among the prime targets. Other notable targets include the social media accounts of former President Donald Trump, Newsmax, Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Harmeet Dhillon, and Charlie Kirk, to name a few. […] At the heart of the federal government’s censorship apparatus, however, was the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP), “a consortium of ‘disinformation’ academics led by Stanford University’s Stanford Internet Observatory” that coordinated with DHS and GEC “to monitor and censor Americans’ online speech in advance of the 2020 presidential election.” According to House Republicans’ Monday report, the initiative was developed “at the request” of CISA during the summer of 2020 and effectively allowed federal officials to “launder [their] censorship activities in hopes of bypassing both the First Amendment and public scrutiny.”

Participants included May Ye: a Chinese-American activist from Maine who claimed that she “became a rabbi to be a Jewish voice for Palestinian liberation”. Both groups, like much of the pro-terror network, had benefited heavily from Soros funding. The If Not Now Education Fund, the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit arm of the 501(c)(4) extremist organization, had received two sets of two year grants from the Soros Open Society Foundations totaling $400,000 beginning in 2019 and running until 2023. JVP had also taken in $650,000 from OSF with multi-year grants beginning in 2017 and running through 2023. Like IfNotNow, JVP is a 501(c)(3) and has a 501(c)(4) arm. Both benefited from recent Soros grants.

The illegal pro-terrorist activities of both JVP and IfNotNow, as well as many other groups in the anti-Israel network, reflects the refusal of the IRS to enforce the tax code against the Left. Lendrum: House GOP to Introduce FISA Reform Bill Blocking Surveillance of Americans’ Phone Records

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee are planning to introduce major reforms to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which will forbid the FBI and other government agencies from surveilling the phone records of American civilians without a warrant. As Just The News reports, the reforms will be introduced by the end of the year, around the same time that several powers granted by the Patriot Act are set to expire. Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has said that the reforms have surprisingly bipartisan support. “We’ve got, I think, strong agreement amongst members of the Intel Committee and members of the Judiciary Committee,” said Jordan on Friday. “And frankly some Democrats as well, that there needs to be stronger penalties if you abuse the system.”

Smith: GOP Lawmaker Files Second Resolution To Censure Rashida Tlaib

Republican Georgia Rep. Rich McCormick filed a resolution on Monday to censure Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib for antisemitic activity and pushing “false narratives” about the Israel-Hamas conflict, according to a copy of the proposed measure obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. […] McCormick told the DCNF that he voted to table the original resolution because it incorrectly accused Tlaib of starting an insurrection, and its confirmation would set a dangerous precedent that could be used against Republicans in the future. McCormick said his resolution uses more accurate language to ensure it gains broader support in the House and censures Tlaib for antisemitic activity she actually engaged in. […] “Let me be clear, Rep. Tlaib’s words and actions were racist and hateful and she should be censured,” McCormick said. “That is why I am working with other conservatives to draft a new censure resolution to address Rep. This week the Biden administration will meet with officials from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to discuss an arms control and non-proliferation agenda. The administration is expected to advance a program of nuclear arms control with the PRC in the face of what has been described as a “strategic nuclear breakout.” The Biden team will argue that engagement with the PRC will advance strategic stability, the absence of either side to race for nuclear superiority. Historically, the PRC has been loath to enter arms control talks. In the past, the reason why was that it was so weak. China was a minor player in a realm dominated by the Soviet Union and the U.S. The fact that it now entertains commencing talks with the U.S. demonstrates that it is far more powerful than in the past and perceives arms control as a tool to advance the PRC’s pursuit of its national security and political warfare objectives. Their unstated but fundamental strategic objectives are to weaken U.S. national security. The PRC seeks to hinder the ability of the U.S. to respond to the PRC prodigious nuclear expansion in numbers of nuclear weapons, delivery vehicles, and in their nuclear infrastructure, including the ability to produce fissile material and manufacture and maintain nuclear weapons. The fact that the PRC and the U.S. are in arms control talks only serves to sustain the illusion of engagement.

Speaking to former staffers on Pod Save America at an event to celebrate the 15th anniversary of his election, Barack Obama decided to address the “complexity” of a crisis that began when Hamas slaughtered 1,400 Israelis ranging from babies to senior citizens, burned civilians, raped women, and took 230 hostages. While Hamas’s actions were “horrific,” Obama said, “what is also true is that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable.” He then went on an extended on-the-one-hand/on-the-other-hand discourse, before reflecting, “If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth and then you have to admit nobody’s hands are clean. That all of us are complicit to some degree.” To start, the blame for October 7 and all of the events that followed it rests squarely with the terrorist group that perpetrated the attacks. But to the extent that there’s more blame to go around, it’s worth separating Obama from the rest of us. Unlike Obama, the rest of “us” did not . . .

Shurk: Keep Your Head on a Swivel

The October 7 Hamas terror attacks on Israeli civilians serve as a shocking reminder that evil is raring to go when people least expect it. One second, concertgoers were enjoying festival music, the next second they were struggling to escape slaughter. One moment, families were asleep in their beds, and the next moment gunmen were breaking into their homes. Life-and-death situations require critical thinking without the luxury of time; therefore, those who have already mentally prepared for the worst put themselves in the best position to prevail. Unfortunately, Americans are at a disadvantage today because they have been conditioned to depend entirely upon government institutions for protection. A culture that values strength and self-reliance produces citizens who are capable of defending themselves when necessary. A culture that embraces victimhood, views masculinity as “toxic,” finds language “triggering,” and insists that only government agents should be armed with weapons is a culture ripe for swift defeat. Furthermore, too many official U.S. government policies are intentionally geared toward harming Americans. No sane nation interested in the safety of its citizens would open its borders to tens of millions of illegal aliens, refuse to prosecute violent criminals, or secretly resettle anti-American, military-aged “refugees” into unsuspecting American communities. No sane nation wastes its resources harassing patriotic citizens as “domestic enemies,” while turning a blind eye to the damage caused by Antifa and BLM riots and the very real threats from Islamic terrorism.

DECHRISTOPHER: Israel Should Focus On Winning The War, Not Winning Hearts And Minds

How did an ill-equipped band of insurgents and terrorists instill more fear than the most powerful military in the world? Niccolo Machiavelli, the 16th-century political philosopher, is perhaps best known for writing that “it is better to be feared than loved.” From the perspective of conventional warfare, this has always been the case. But academics who study unconventional war would take issue with formulation. They would argue that when the fight is not against a uniformed enemy, it is important to win over the populace. Doing so, they would explain, builds local and international support, denies the insurgents critical support and reduces enemy recruitment. All of this can be summed up in the catchy slogan “winning hearts and minds.” At a strategic level this approach briefs well, but at a tactical or even theater level, it has the effect of negating our own military superiority. What is the point of having a military that can instill the fear of God in the enemy if we never wield it? […] In this present moment, Israel would be best served if it ignored, wholesale, the West’s cries for humanitarianism. If Israel takes a tactical pause now, it will only embolden the resolve of the terrorists. The West is refusing to acknowledge both the scale and barbarity of what occurred on Oct. 7 while attempting to draw moral equivalence between the rape and dismemberment of Israeli civilians and the collateral damage that has been pervasive in war since its inception.

It is common for education leaders to issue statements supporting the latest left-wing talking point in the news cycle, but Walters stood virtually alone in his profession of support for Israel. One part of Walters’s statement deserves sustained reflection and should be a call to action for any education leader with an ounce of moral fiber. He declared that he would “take a fresh look at standards to ensure Oklahoma schools do not teach terrorism as a legitimate means to political ends.” Now, it is unlikely that Oklahoma’s state academic standards currently allow this. But do many, or any, American schools really teach that violence is an appropriate form of political activity? Absolutely. Have you heard of Black Lives Matter?

The aggressive promotion of gender ideology has coincided with a sharp rise in children identifying as transgender. As with the eugenics movement of a century ago, doctors are subjecting these young and vulnerable children to harmful drugs and irreversible surgeries that can leave them permanently sterilized.

Researchers attribute the new phenomenon of rapid-onset gender dysphoria largely to social contagion. […] The medical transition of children has become a highly profitable growth industry. In 15 years, the number of U.S. gender clinics has gone from zero to more than 100. Doctors have performed double mastectomies on girls as young as 13. Oregon and California are allowing doctors to perform both mastectomies and genital surgeries on 15-year-olds without parental consent. Doctors administer puberty blockers for “off-label” use at the first noticeable sign of puberty. Companies have little incentive to seek FDA approval for these drugs; one of the major pharmaceutical companies said it “has no plans to seek regulatory approval.” But former patients who have survived pediatric medical transition—and regret it—are beginning to speak up.

Today, I see so many people now, in this year, advocating for the exact process I went through.” Ivy has found it difficult to move forward with legal recourse for what was done to him. “I have tried to expose legal possibilities, but it’s really complicated because, basically, for a lawyer to take up the case, a board of other surgeons have to decide if [the procedure] is experimental or not,” Ivy said. “If the doctors believe it’s not by definition experimental, then I have no case.”

Audrey Hale epitomizes what the Left inculcates into America’s children: bitter hatred and envy, violence, gender confusion, and abysmal ignorance of what everyone used to take for granted as necessary to learn in order to function well in society. Ever since her mass murders, Hale’s “manifesto” has been a closely guarded secret. On Monday, however, political commentator Steven Crowder released several pages of this manifesto, making it clear that Hale acted out of hatred for Christians, white people and the wealthy, three groups the Left very much wants us all to hate.
